  2. Don't use fraps, ever. It's terrible, not to mention the output size is enormously large. Yes, I'm suffering the similar issues. I've noticed this when I'm playing on my melee toons. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a fix to this. In the hardcore end-games such as NiM raids for PvE and ranked for PvP, big latency will hinder our gameplay in a big way. But I think it's still pretty acceptable for regs and HM FP/Ops. You can still record your gameplay, no big deal. Heck, you can even still open another program like teamspeak and do fine. I know coz I've done this. The feasible solution (at least for me) is to maining ranged classes, because they don't suffer from this problem as much as melee classes do. But again, if you are just casually into regs, I think you will do just fine.
  3. I'm from APAC region as well. Having 200-300ms is like a norm for us (I think 200ms is the best for me, not sure for you), but I don't think that's the issue with recording as I can still record my gameplay easily without single trouble. Perhaps try specific recording softwares like Overwolf or Camtasia, those work really well.

  5. Yes, it's one of the way. The problem is some people has limited time to play the game. I'd rather spending my in-game time doing pvp, because that's my cup of tea. Yeah, I know doing tatooine heroics in full group will yield 700k in less than 30 mins, while other heroics, well not so much and requires more times. Another problem is getting full group. I've done this several times waiting on fleet spamming LF heroic group and have to wait like 10-20 mins, not to mention sometimes (though really rare) some people in the middle of heroic missions quitted because they have rl issues. Can't really blame them since rl comes first. I hope they consider this, and thank you anyway for your advice. Appreciate it.
  6. Pls give us more credit as rewards from doing pvp since the prices on GTN are extremely inflated and high (pretty much on all servers) and majority of pvpers are broke
  7. Marksmanship is the most viable spec for both regs and ranked warzones, because of instant burst skills that designed for single target focus. Engineering is the 2nd most viable spec especially for unranked when it comes to node control (lots of dots and ccs), but the damage output partially relies on AoE skills. So it's kinda AoE centric spec unlike marksmanship. For virulence, i'd say its unfavourable both for PvE and PvP because you need to build up your dots first before casting cull (i forget whats the skill's name for GS), and not to mention peeps can cleanse your dots. Snipers/GSs can be shine on group ranked warzone (when we got supports a.k.a guard, and heals) And most people tend to focus on this class first because if they ignore us, we can unleash insane damage and kill them really quick.
  8. Well, you got few choices: 1. When you got killed on open world and revived, you'll have a small window to avoid gankers/owpvpers. Use it to go to a remote place where you think they can't find you. 2. If they still trying to locate you, you can try to avoid them (usually normal owpvpers won't blindlessly chase players who doesn't want to participate on owpvp) as usually they only stick to pvpers only, but there might be rare occurrences where they might still chase you, well in that case: 3. Go and do other activities (dailies, FP, regs warzones, crafting), or just log out and wait till those pvp activities are over. You should join communities or/and guild and start making friends as this will immensely help you on open world.

I don't know in PvE, but in PvP sometimes (quite rare occurence) after Penetrating Blasts (Penetrating Rounds), I use Ambush instead of Followthrough (Trickshot version of sniper), because I know my target will be out of sight and I know using Followthrough won't kill them, but Ambush does. Or sometimes Takedown (Quickdraw) instead of Followthrough because of the same above reason. It's kinda situational imo.
  10. Not true. Role in PVP is not a decisive factor for winning a match, it always comes to knowledge (understand the class, role, and also understand the map mechanics) itself, and cooperation. If you got full DPS for instance, and let say your opponent got 4 healers and 4 dps, it means your team dmg output should be far bigger than your opponents. Sure they got massive amount of heals, but they lack dps. If your team can focus fire, killing 1 healer at a time, and cc the others, winning that match isn't a difficult task to accomplish.

It's a heroic mission from GSI quest (it's a seeker droid mission), the mission title says HEROIC 4, but I just found out that it's actually soloable with using Operative/Scoundrel classes using TANK as a companion. Well, I've used operative on this one, and I think (in my opinion) it can only be soloed using this class. I will explain why in a sec. This mission is pretty nice since it will allowed you to dig rare BoL (Bound to Legacy) gears; Dreadseed gears/Starforager gears. I will highlights few important things to get this done on this heroic. For full guide details you can go check dulfy site; http://dulfy.net/2013/03/26/swtor-macrobinocular-and-seeker-droid-missions-guide/ I didn't record my solo gameplay, but some other dude who inspired me did. This is the link to his vid: This heroic has 3 phases. 1. Phase 1: Survive the Onslaught Operative has a huge advantage over other classes on this one thanks to roll ability that will save a lot of your running time grabbing cells. At the beginning, you need to make turret generator as your first priority before those dread creeps start to hurting shields. If I remember correctly I was able to lighted up the turret generator to 50%-62.5% before the creeps started to turned one of the shield to yellow. When they finally got one of your shield to yellow, you have to make shield protection to become your first priority. (Don't worry, you will be able to make up for your turret later). One thing to note for this phase: if you carry a cell and you got attacked or attacking a mob, you will got insta death. And there will be one mob during the phase, make sure to kill it first or if you carrying a cell, command your tank companion to attack it first (to prevent it from attacking you, thus killing u instantly). Just make sure no dread creeps gets inside by keep protecting your shields, and make up for the turret generator to 100%, and you will be good. In my case, I didn't make it, and died from powercell blow. BUT I tried to revive on the spot, heals to the full, use stealth, put sleep dart to the creep that stands nearest the generator, and I was able to fill the generator. This is why using operative is really good because you can be sneaky at the quest objective. 2. Phase 2: Corrupted Sithspawn Experiment On this phase, there are 2 important things you need to watch. First, after you kill all 4 tentacles, you need to stand above the Arcanum Bio-Containment Canister (or stand near it, and make sure your tank following you at that time). If that Caniseter has a Dreadseed Corruption growth on the top of it, you need to click it first to remove it before you can stand on it. This will helps you to stun the boss when it lands on you, and make you able to do him some damage. The 2nd thing is make sure you ONLY use your Escape ability when the boss start to use its tentacle to heal himself, and interrupt it. This occurs after the stun period (10-12 secs) after it lands on you after you killed 4 creep tentacles. Make sure your tank keep aggroing the boss, and you heal your tank so both of you can still survive the ordeal. This is one of the reason why only operative/scoundrel is the only one who can solo this heroic. Second reason would be the "Escape Plan" utility that grants 1:30 cooldown on Escape ability, which is really important on this phase to prevent miniboss from heal itself. Sorcerer might be able to do this since sorc has Force Barrier and Unbreakable Will as break skill mechanics This is the hardest phase in my opinion 3. Phase 3: Lord Tagriss Lord Tagriss phase is the easiest. At 75% hp, he will start to broke crystal, and become immune from damage. You need to click on the crystal he broke and you will automatically channel a seeker droid into it. Wait until it finished, and run to the seed of rage on the forging table and click the seed to cancel Lord Tagriss's immunity effect. At this rate, there will be 2 tentacles near the seed of rage table. Make sure your tank kills or distract it, because those tentacles can bash you out from the table and prevents you from planting the crystals. At around 50% hp, he will do the same thing again, but at this time he will begins to channel some red effects on the water to harm you. I didn't know what kind of harm effects it will do to us, just stay out from water and keep standing on platform when the red effects appears. It's pretty simple fight, at 25% HP, he will instantly die after a few seconds, and voila! You've done it! Important notes: - You always HAVE to heal yourself and your tank companion, it's really imperative to keep both of your health above 50% - Switching aggro on enemies for your tank companion needs to be done on contingency basis, depends on the situation) - Make sure you have Resuscitation Probe ability ready, just in case when your companion dies. - It's a mandatory to take "Escape Plan" heroic utility during phase 2, because you need the 30 seconds lowerance cooldown on your Escape ability for interrupting the miniboss tentacle heals.   17. I have a question about kinetic/darkness spec. You said we have to use high endurance enhancement, but your guide stated that we should use 7xAdvanced Discipline Enhancement 33X which isn't endurance enhancement, I just wanna be sure, is this correct? And, very nice guide, great post. Thanks

Carnage/Combat for PvE because you can safely land your gore/precision->ravage/master strike without huge possibility interruptions like on PvP, and it's the easiest spec of all three to execute procs. Fury/Concentration for PvP because the the spec utilize instant burst damage without (or with little) any setups, and 6 seconds immunity window from force crush.
  20. but fury/concentration has 6 seconds immunity to interruption effects windows, and since the spec utilize instant burst dmg (without or with very little setups) output, you can bring someone down pretty fast.
  21. Wow, your surge is pretty high, and make sense since we need a lots of crit burst from our dmg outputs. I guess engineering and marksmanship have a different stats setup then.
  22. How do you manage your augments? I use full powers. My surge sit around 60%, with 6% alacrity, 104% accuracy and 30% crit.
  23. Hi folks, I feel like need to post this after experiencing PvP on here for some short-quality time (I was originally from Jung Ma). I want to share some tips about very basic PvP stuff. First thing first, learn the map mechanics. This is VERY IMPORTANT. There are 6 different warzone maps, and each map has different mechanics, so it will be better if you learn/read a bit about each map before you que. (or watch some youtube gameplay vids, it helps too!) Warzone maps: - Civil War - Huttball (The Pit/Quesh) - Novare Coast - Ancient Hypergate - The Voidstar - Arena 4 vs 4(Makeb Mesa Arena, Corellia Square, Tatooine Canyon, Orbital Station) I'm not gonna dig into each of the maps, you should do it yourself, search it on forum. Secondly, learn about your class and your role in warzone. This is vital. You don't have to become an expert player who has excellent muscle memory reflex and godly instinct (which gained by playing the class constantly for few years) like those on top-96 leaderboards. But you need to know how to play your role in the right way. (Again, I'm not gonna dig too deep into this section, just a little heads up) If you are DPS, learn how to corner your enemy and deliver killing blows (with situational rotations, and proper procs executions). If you heals, learn how to position yourself properly so that you can support your team (and prevent yourself from getting killed easily) better. If you tanking, learn to guard prioritize your teammates, and how to cc and distract your foes. It's far better if you understand other classes mechanics (in general, at least), so you can have better understanding on how to properly execute countermeasures against them. Lastly, about gears. With patch 3.3 coming out, getting pvp gears are super easy. You can get full Exhumed gears (168 rating) with only 6k wz comms. And another 14k wz comms for full DR gears (174 rating a.k.a the current highest rating for pvp gears). It's 60% cheaper compared to pre 3.3 If you have zero pvp gear and you are lvl 60, my advice is to roll a lowbie/midbie toons, and que for wz as lowbie/midbie is more balance and will bolster you properly compared to 60s, and get comms through it, as long as you have proper blue gears at least for your level. Buy those blue mods with basic commendations. Getting basic commendations also super easy now through storyline quest as you will get 12 basic commendations for completing 1 story mission - 1 mod cost you 2 basic comms, so 1 gear will cost you 6 basic comms, therefore you can get full proper blue gears with 54 basic comms with completing 5 story missions. (I can get like 4k-5k wz comms for just 2-3 days playing midbie wz). And transfer those wz comms to your 60 toon, then buy the gears. And that's it. I'm not a pro myself, I'm average, I make mistakes, but at least I know wz mechanics, I understand my class, and my role, and I make sure to have proper gears before queing wz match. It's not fun if people do warzone without proper gears, and it will be really fun if the matches are competitive and balanced for both team. It's not fun if people don't have a single clue about wz mechanics and just give "free wins" for enemy teams, and it will be really fun if people understand the map mechanics, and try their hardest to winning the map objectives. Last but not least, don't be shy to ask for inputs or critics from others. Be humble. Sorry if I offend you, I mean no single offense. Happy playing Let's que for wz and kill each other for fun! GG
  24. How do you manage your augments for PvP? Is it different for scrapper/concealment and ruffian/lethality? I use 2 surges, 7 skills, and 5 overkills augments. My surge sits around 73%. I'm usually on scrapper/concealment tho. Thx!
