  1. Time to get on this Bio! Take your two dev's off churning out cash shop junk for a day and actually make some content for the game that would be fun!
  2. How nice that someone gets it. One person knows how to think. Yay!
  3. How about you make Companion Hotkey 6, 7 and 8 into quick-swap to Tank, Heal and DPS stance after all, the keybindings UI lists those keys and more for companion use, but we are unable to use them anymore.
  4. The Equipment (really, everything) that drops from the Command Crates REALLY NEEDS to be Bind to Legacy!!
  5. I would like to think that I am speaking for a large sub-section of the swtor population here when I suggest that it is far past time that you guys put out solo mode Galactic Starfighter missions and stories!! The rail-shooter that is "space missions" was fun for about an hour and a half (at game launch), but those same old missions would be amazing re-created using the engine that drives GSF! I do not love pvp and I despise Galactic Starfighter in its current form, but the flying itself is excellent! You guys are seriously missing out on what could be an amazing part of the game! Since launch, swtor has always feltto me like a series of missed opportunities and lost potential. Please get your act together and get this done!!
  6. I am certain this suggestion will generate a lot of spite and hurt feelings but here goes non the less. I really think that PvP (warzones specifically) would be a whole lot more "balanced" if roles were removed. Getting rid of heals and tanks would largely remove the need for CC (you really only need cc to lock down a healer in order to get a kill before the frelling healer heals to full before your eyes) which would remove the need for more and more snare and cc breaks being added to the game which in turn would be great. As it stands now, pvp is Team comp vs Team comp. Individual play rarely factors into a win or a lose. If the other team (pubs, for example) always have healers and your team (Imps) rarely has healers in the comp, the game is basically decided when it begins. This randomness makes games a whole lot less fun than I think they could be. Getting rid of artificial balance and just allowing dps vs dps would alleviate an awful lot of the balancing issues of pvp. I would like Bio to at least entertain this idea and perhaps run some trials, or maybe design a couple warzone maps that are DPS only, to see if the theory is sound.
  7. I can choose to ignore it because of the changes with the new ACs since 3.0. They have taken a first step towards differentiating ACs from each other and from the base class. Yes it is a minor step but it can be and I think should be taken further. Sniper is a ranged turret. Fun for some if you want to just hide behind cover and shoot. Yeah they made it a little more mobile friendly but it is still essentially a turret class. Operative has one stabby, melee spec. great if you want that. why does it need two melee specs when melee with a gun just doesn't make thematic sense not to mention a ranged operative would be fun. Why not give Operative a ranged and mobile skirmisher / special ops feeling spec. That would be extremely fun. I do not think "balance" is or should ever be a valid reason to just blanket shut down an idea, especially when "balance" is whatever Bio decides to make it. It would be completely possible to "balance" a ranged operative class that happens to have stealth, a heal and uses dots as the primary damage source. Anyway, it is a suggestion for Bio and I am also asking for people who would like to see this change or something like it to comment. If all you have to say is why it cant be done, don't bother posting. If you have to post, at least try to offer something constructive, like how you think it could be done effectively.
  8. Make Lethality a Ranged spec. I enjoy playing lethality but I cant help thinking that thematically it seems silly that it is a melee spec. I personally think this spec could be a good deal more fun and make more thematic sense as a 30 meter ranged spec. Heck even 20 meter would make it seem more like a skirmish class that fights from range with a blaster rifle but can operate in close quarters if needed as well. If I were going to design it in this way I would either make "this shares a cooldown with" abilities to overwrite shiv and backstab that had similar effect and cooldown but had a range or 20 or 30 meters. Alternately I would make those abilities overwrite Overload Shot and Snipe and leave shiv and backstab alone. There are many ways that this could be done. Overall I would really like a ranged option for Operative. Now I know what some of you will say. Want ranged play sniper. I have a sniper, it is also fun, but I am not talking about sniper so dont bother bringing it up. I am talking about a ranged option for operative and I do not see a good reason why this should not be done. Would anyone else find this fun and like to see this change?
  9. I dont know what you are doing wrong, but Republic have nothing to complain about. All i have to say is. You cannot spell TroOPer without OP. As an example. Voidstar Empire. Mixed batch of players. some 50s, some non-50s. Republic. 1 Jedi Guardian 1 Jedi Sentinel 1 Jedi Sage the rest TroOPers. some 50, some not. The game was a total shut out. We (empire) could do nothing. We got ranged and focused down from the start. Republic wasnt even a premade. People from different guilds. The Troopers just spread out in a crescent and focused fired each person and mowed us down one at a time. We were pushed back to and camped at our spawn point by trooper fire. anyone that jumped down died. If we focused on one trooper, the others would just focus our DPS while the Trooper under attack ran and got healed by the Sage who was safely behind the line of Troopers. It is a flawless tactic that doesn't even require vent to pull off successful wins. So, you yourself Mr Original Poster, may have issues in pvp, but rest assured, your faction most certainly does not.
  10. Super Simple PvP Fix. - Remove Expertise TLDR: Expertise is the problem. Either remove it completely or add it to ALL pvp gear. (lvl 20, 40 and bring back lvl 50 blue) So, Bioware is splitting the pvp bracket into 50s and non-50s because non-50s are tired of being rolled. The problem here is not with 50 vs non-50, the problem is with Expertise vs no-Expertise. PvP warzones were extremely fun when i was low level, even vs lvl 50s, because with the bolster system, I had a chance against them. The bolster system itself is great! The fun rapidly vanished as 50s began accumulating Expertise gear. Now, with many 50s in near full Expertise, it is impossible to do anything against them, as a non-50 or even as a level 50 with no Expertise, hell, even as a team of 50s with no Expertise. It should be very clear that Expertise is the issue. I cannot fathom why Bioware even thinks Expertise is necessary. Any veteran pvp player from many other MMOs will know that a PVP stat ruins pvp. It does not improve pvp by making it more accessible to more people. Instead it drives a wedge between established and geared and non-established players. It makes pvp less accessible and as a result, pvp communities die out rather than thrive. This drives up queue times, it drives down quality games. The only people who seem to enjoy this are the same people who enjoy rolling lowbies and un-geared players. Lets stop a minute and actually look at the lvl 50 pvp gear. This gear is fantastic, even without expertise. The stats are amazing. Add the set bonuses on top of that and you have some super potent gear that is relatively easy to acquire. Why does it need expertise on top of all this? Even if Expertise were for some reason a requirement, why is it so high in the very first Tier in the very first season? It makes no sense. WoW didnt add Resilience until people began complaining about being rolled in PVP by fully geared raiders in gear that was not accessible to anyone but the most hard core and successful raiding guilds. It is somewhat understandable in the above situation why a pvp stat might be thought of as one possible solution to the imbalance. But it is not the only solution! Come on Bioware! Get off the bandwagon before it is too late and consider better solutions. Your Bolster system is fantastic! Start with that. Figure out a way to normalize stats above a certain limit in Warzones for example. Aren't Warzones supposed to be about team play and team effort? That's how you sold them to us during development! Warzones are fun when teams are closely matched and the win comes to the team that plays better. Warzones are pointless when the outcome is decided before it starts because one team has better gear and is untouchable. Bio, you really need to listen to your community on this one. Many people are sick of WoW. Many people want something fresh and new. You are threatening to copy the WoW model of pvp. You are going to lose more subscriptions than I think you realize if you continue down this path. WoW pvp is not good. Some people may enjoy it because it is familiar. Give them something new and show them a better way and you will have more subscriptions than you can hope for. It is unfortunate but it is true, PvP makes or breaks MMOs.
  11. I want to add my voice to this discussion. I completely agree with this ^^, 110%. Nothing kills the fun of endgame on a new toon faster than the pvp gear grind and inherent gear imbalance (for me and for a lot of other people that I have known over the years). Depending on how old the game is and how deep into the PVP stat all the vets are, the grind becomes less and less enjoyable. I quit wow over a year ago and have had no desire to go back. Can you guess why that was and is? It was because of the PVP. It was simply impossible to catch up to the top people and have a shot at being competitive. It was because of the lack of fun that created. No matter how skilled or how bad I might be at pvp on any given day or in any given match, it always ended up that Gear > all. I want to close by saying I fully support the notion that Bioware completely remove PVP stats from pvp gear. Remove Expertise and bring back combined brackets. I had a blast vs 50s on my low level, bolstered toons. I think the system is just fine, until 50s started stacking expertise, that is. Expertise is the problem, not the solution. It needs to go away.
