  1. I have logged in and out multiple times doing this. So my roll changed every time.

I finally after 50 slicings got 3 to drop. Do that math on that....I wasted ALOT of credits to get 3. I could have bought 3 on the GTN for cheaper than the 50 missions.

Bad RNG? I think it is a bit more than that.

How are you losing money with slicing missions now? If I run all the missions, Rich, Bountiful, Advanced, and Moderate all in one run I get a one Blue Credit Box, 1-2 Greens, and white. The Blues give 7-10k credits alone and the greens give 2.5-3.5k from what I've noticed. With all the schems you get without criticals how are you losing money? I think they finally fixed it so overall you don't lose if you run your all your guys on slicing missions even if you don't critical.

  2. I've had my best critical streak with slicing for the past three days. My Operative had a critical on 4 straight missions that yielded yet another slicing mission every time. The streak ended for the critical this morning but I still got a slicing mission so that streak is still alive. It's ridiculous how many mats this yielded but with the price fluctuation on the GTN I can't get anything to sell. It started off at 400k for an augment and it's now at 140k and still drops. By the time everyone gets to play 3.0 it'll be as low as the previous augments lol.
  3. OK, just bad luck for me I guess.

I've "only" made 30 augments now, but out of those 30 makes, I've 32 augments to show - which is less than 10% crit.

    That's with a +5 Droid, 10k affection and all 3 legacy perks.

I've found you can really get on a bad streak. To get the schem for Advanced Augment 36, I re-engineered 25+ (I lost count at that point) before they gave me the schematic. It was ridiculous and I thought the new patch was broken. However I did all the new armor and it never took more than 10 to get the schematic.....so maybe you just have bad luck as you said.

  4. Hey folks,

Let’s talk a bit about training costs for your characters abilities. One thing has become clear from the player feedback in not only this thread, but since launch: players do not like training costs. It is a situation where every level you will see your hard earned credits go to a holographic Hutt doctor in order to make yourself a bit stronger. We have been talking about this topic internally for quite some time and when you add player feedback to the mix one thing becomes clear… We should make training costs a thing of the past.

Since launch, you have spent millions of credits training skills across your characters. As of our maintenance next week all ability training costs will be completely removed from the game, forever!

What does this mean for you? This means that starting next week, instead of spending your credits on training skills, you can now spend them on literally, anything else you want. Note that this only affects ability training, you will still need to spend credits to training schematics for Crew Skills, etc.

Thank you again for your feedback.

I really appreciate how fast this decision was made. It limits the damage to my bank account. I actually held off from training so I'm not complaining at all. I do feel for those who have already trained though.....those new skills were uber expensive.

  5. All of my characters are maxed out at 450, and none of them, even the level 55s can purchase it from the trainer. It just won't let me buy it. Yes, I pre-ordered. Got my statue and all, but I really want to get cracking on the new schematics.

hmmm, so you got the statue but can't purchase the expert crafting. None of my 9 characters had a problem with buying the expert crafting skill. The only obvious thing I can think of is to make sure you have 50k. Other than that, sounds like it's not recognizing you as buying it before the deadline.

  6. Hey folks,

Ok so I have an update on the training/re-training of abilities with the launch of 3.0. With all of the changes that hit with 3.0 to Disciplines, it is intended that there are abilities that need to be trained/re-trained. Here are some of the criteria that could cause this to happen:

    • If an existing ability changed, in name or functionality. This could especially affect Disciplines which used to share an overlapping name and set of abilities, such as Lethality Sniper/Operative.
    • We adjusted at what level you would acquire certain ranks of skills. If you are a character pre-55 you may be training skills at ranks that were previously unavailable.
    • In some cases we moved abilities from the Base Class to the Advanced Class or vice-versa. This technically means you could have to retrain an ability you already had, since it changed where/how you got it.

I had not realized the scope of abilities that would need to be trained or I would have been more proactive in alerting everyone to this prior to 3.0. With this in mind, the need to train/re-train abilities in 3.0 is intended and therefore we are not planning on making any changes at this time. I apologize sincerely for the inconvenience this has caused.

    Thank you for your understanding.

So it was intended I retrain speeder 3 when I purchased it from legacy using cartel coins? You apologize for the inconvenience? I have every profession at 55, the differences on the cost of what we have retrain is FING ridiculous. Some have to retrain level 5 or 10 skills? While another has to spend 30k per skill because "it changed" and it happens to be a level 50 skill. Just admit it, you f'd up and say you can't fix it now that it's live. Telling me this working as intended makes me think you guys are a bunch of jack *****.

  7. Looking into it.

Until then, either don't play at all or wait for a fix perhaps. :(

I'm just leveling my crew skills........I have, no scratch that had 10 million credits at the launch of this and right now I have 8 million. The skills they are asking you to pay for again is just ridiculous. Crewskills I can understand, 50k one time.....with 9 toon it may sting a little but I can live with it. I can not be dropping 5 million credits before I even kill anything. Oh well, I'm just running around everything and scanning all the matts I can just ignoring everything else since half my skills are completely overpriced.

  8. The kicker for me was telling me I had to pay for speeder license on my toon that I paid cartel coins for when I first played this game 8 months ago. I mean seriously.......I actually paid you REAL money for the skill and you want me to pay credits? I'm disappointed in the BETA testers, come on this is pretty simple to see and understand why it's not a good idea.

Surprised they didn't make me pay for my strongholds again.......wait I may be giving you devs more ideas.......

  9. Where is it? Sending companions non-stop in 4 toons, 3 purples so far.

random drop. I' have 8 alts doing missions non-stop with 5 companions each. So far I got a lot of underworld and some treasure hunting/diplomacy.

  10. I have been running 450+ Investigation missions all day, (and have been at 500 for many hours,) and have not once got the new purple research compound, Verpine Fiber. To put this in perspective, I currently have 178 blue research compound, Havod. I am running six crew members non-stop. Am I just having an incredibly bad luck streak, or do you have to have a mission in order to get it, or is it bugged? Does anyone know? I'm a little baffled at this point.

I only ran a handful of Investigation yesterday, at 10k affection I was able to get a critical twice.

  11. So i have been slicing 500 for 3 hours and have been sending missions this whole time and HAVE NOT GOTTEN 1 single purple slicing mat! this has to be a bug

Slicing missions are the most rare IMO. I didn't get one yesterday either but I did get 4 underworld ones :)

Patience, there will be times you get 3 in a row and then go a week without seeing one. And I ran about 50 missions yesterday btw (I have 9 toons and most have slicing :)

  12. Not Bioware's problem. I mistakenly put up 10 augments (worth 70k each) for the default price it comes up with when first putting it for sale (like 2200). Of course I didn't know I did that because I was talking with my kids as I put them up on the GTN but someone noticed it and within 5 mins they were sold before I could fix it. Again, my fault and it's not like someone stole them from me. It's the exact thing you are dealing with, some people make mistakes.......we learn from them and move on. I'm sure the person buying them for that super low price knew I didn't mean to put them up at that price but what do you do. If I find 20 dollars on the street, I don't ask every person I see if it belongs to them.....
  13. I'm burning through classes as I level as many as I can to 55, in an effort to use Fraps to record all the best moments of the class stories. And I get that, since I've been forcing myself to rely on mostly green mods in orange shells, that I'm going to be a bit weaker than when I had to take my time and I could afford to replace most of my mods every planet with blue commendation mods. I get that.

But I leveled characters back when commendations were planet-specific. I remember using all green mods to level up my first Bounty Hunter. And I don't remember getting my arse kicked this much.

I'm leveling my Jedi Guardian right now, using Kira (who is also decked out in green mods), and we're both on Corellia at 47. I'm getting kicked across the floor. I'm popping Unity, Saber Ward, Enure, Awe... all with extreme regularity. Sometime on simple silver fights. There are more than a few elites in the last couple of levels where I had to use Heroic Moment on them; back when I was levelling normally, I could often count on one hand the number of times from 1-50 I was in serious enough danger to use Heroic Moment. Now I'm popping it several times a planet. Thing is, I thought it might be due to my weak mods, so I spent all the 30-odd commendations I'd acquired since level 1 in order to purchase mostly all-blue, level 45 mods. And I'm still getting pounded into the dirt.

Did something change in the last six months? Am I just leveling incorrectly? I've leveled a Guardian to 50 before and it was never this hard. Sure, leveling a Guardian or a Marauder makes a Sniper or Sorceror look like a cake walk, but still, I don't remember getting stomped this hard.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure what the problem is. I can level in level 10 gear up until around level 28/29. Then I am forced to upgrade into green armor at that level. Then I don't need to upgrade again until about level 40 and I don't even have to change all pieces either. After that it's level 55 and I craft my armor and mods, 30k easy. Right now it's only hard if you don't upgrade every 15-20 levels

  14. If it is any consolation, in my experience, discovered missions are weighted, with Investigation, Diplomacy, and Treasure Hunting, being more common, Slicing being the rarest of the bunch, and the rest falling the middle.

That being said, you have three characters able to run a total of three grade 9 lockbox missions each (the abundant, bountiful, and rich lockbox missions can all generate discovered missions). That means in any one pass you can run 9 missions. Next question is how often do you log in to run more missions? Those people you mention probably have 10 characters running all three of those missions all the time, so they are running THIRTY missions every 45 minutes or so. Sheer volume of missions run gets them the number of discovered missions.

^^^This is correct. I have 7 alts (4 of them level 55) that all run slicing missions. That 20+ missions every hour. At night I log on and cycle through all of them. So I get about 40-50 missions on average per night. It's all luck on getting the slicing missions. They are the rarest but sometimes you can get lucky (one night I got 4 slicing missions). Most of the time it's treasure hunting, investigation, or diplomacy.

  15. Not happy...it means the ones I've spent time for already I lose.

So you'll still be able to buy gear better than what you currently can buy with those comms but some how thats a loss

Why not just admit all these complaints from everyone has nothing to do with "losing" anything, it's all about the fact all comms are being treated the same whether they are planetary basic elite or ultra. If that's what your problem is, devs won't care. That's like me saying how I spent hundreds of hours leveling up my alts for them to give us 12X exp, instead of whining about how all that time I waisted I'm taking advantage by leveling up more alts.

Something had to be done and this is the solution. You don't lose anything and you are able to buy gear the moment this goes live that should be better than what you currently have.

  16. I'm not sure why people think it's ok to try and gear in flashpoints only. Why are there dailies providing comms to gear to the appropriate level then? If they can't do that then they should absolutely not be doing flashpoints.

It's a progression......if I saw someone with 14k health I would just drop out of the group. I'm all for helping people but showing up with level 15 gear, come on. That's like asking for handouts, may as well hang a sign begging for credits.

  17. Sorry but from what I've read about the changes so far, what they did to SWG was completely different. This is from someone who had unlocked a Jedi by having to Master 29 professions (if my memory serves me right) in SWG. They DESTROYED the crafting professions and literally made people cookie cutter over night.

This game actually reminds me a lot of what that NGE was but it's just much better combat and a lot better missions. SWG for the longest time had no story experiences, it was just roam around and kill **** for hours on end. When I leveled my Jedi, had to do it solo for months.

Trust me, this change doesn't even come close to what was done with SWG.

  18. If you are that high level you can just go do heroics on the lower planets and get comms. Go upgrade your armor. It doesn't take much. The debs are not going to hand you god mode to level. What they did was allow you to level by only doing the class missions, which IMO is perfect. The first time I had to upgrade my armor was Level 30. The next time after that was level 40. Does it get harder as you get to the later level, ah yeah. I thought that's how games worked usually. 12XP is a perfect opportunity for a lot of people to get extra toons leveled to at least 30 so you get some extra crew skills to run missions for you. I now have 7 toons 2 fully leveled to 55 and the rest above level 30. Just running slicing missions constantly pays for ANYTHING armor/weapon wise.
  19. The 12X EXP perk.

Gamers have been asking for the ability to level with class story only for a long time now.

It's a very nice perk even if it is short lived.

I also noticed on my alts that I no longer have to pay to train skills. So I had to buy a ton of skills after my 12X experience gave me like 4 levels after a couple of missions.......saved over 60k lol. I don't have to spend any more on skills so that is a nice perk as well.

  20. Interesting, will have to see this in full before I know if it's good or bad.

For everyone complaining about WOW, I played Galaxies pre-NGE. I had unlocked a jedi. Nothing I've seen in the changes proposed so far appear to be even close to what happened in that game. I guess I always thought everyone was already cookie cutter in the game currently anyways. I go to 10 different sites and all of them have the same spec for all the classes lol. Everyone has always been cookie cutter.
