  1. Way I see it, and I said it before is that from 4.0 OPS became much more accessible than before. This hasn't changed in 5.0, which means that there is no gear requirement, and most of the mechanics are dumbed down/taken out. All a player have to do is ask for help from friends, from guild or even here on the forums. Since the OP is a resident of TRE as well as me, I know very well that there are tons of guilds for casual players on the server, where TS is not required or anything particular. Even in our guild there are folks who don't usually get in the group content with us, but they are there, we're there if they need us, we're happy to help any way and I am sure that this is the same in other guilds as well. Also if you all please take a look at the thread in my signo, you'll see that there is another option, designed specifically for the story only people. Fun fact we only had 2 runs so far, so there's that. Excuses, everywhere I look I see excuses why not to do something that is required in order to finish a quest or see the desired cinematic. This is what I don't understand and this is what makes me sad when I see solo ops threads.
  2. I don't know where I saw it, maybe in this thread, but it is quite similar that: you go to a steakhouse as a vegan and complain that top dishes are made from meat.
  3. Sorry but I don't get it. Playing and MMO and expecting that everything can be done by solo play. I just don't get it really. Also all I'm seeing is excuses for not to do anything. Half of them could've been solved by joining a guild, the other half could've been solved by just sticking around. It really just comes to if you really want something, do the necessary to get it.
  4. Have you considered your controlling skills? For trash pulls utilize Electrocute, Low Slash or even Overload(with bound utility). Deception is famous for it's 'arsenal' of control, use it! Take some time and read up the utilities you have. Re-set them to enhance your control skills(lower the CD, etc.) and you'll find more uptime for Maul.
  5. Now that's interesting. Thanks for mentioning this, I will look into it. However speaking about bonus bosses, they were 100% before 4.0, now they not.
  6. It's pretty sad that Oasis city can be somewhat ignored now as well as the Fortres' maze. Wonder how long will it take to take out the colors in TFB... It's just sad.
  7. They are a chance drop now. Since 4.0 the HM FP's arent drop decos on 100%. It's kind of sad, they were cool and now it's hard to find them.
  8. Thanks! I will join in the coming days and will bring a crew if needed
  9. Sorry but BiS/Unassembled gear wouldn't solve a problem/anything. As I know these bosses designed for 8+ players. Now imagine that 1 unassembled token would drop for that many players. Master loot and ninjaing all it would mean. more than 1 token? Same. BiS gear(242 atm), yeah no.
  10. As a resident of TRE I can assure you that plenty of guilds are recruiting for all kind of activities. Check the server sections, or the general chat on the fleet, you'll find a guild that can provide you the benefits you seek.
  11. I don't think anyone should change the preferred class just to down a boss/OPS. Any class is viable for any OPS, the difference is by how much. If one goes for a world first kill, yes choose a class that can ignore most of the mechanics, if one just want to play and have fun, any class will do.
  12. Don't know about PT tank set bonus, but as for the Sin tanks the set's contribution to the survive ability is negligible. Take a look: 2pc: Increase DR by 2% for 3 sec 4pc: lover cooldown of taunt via a skill usage 6pc: increase duration of a def CD by a few secs. While I don't really care why anyone grinds for set bonuses, I wanted to drop by and say that they aren't everything and they will most certainly not be a deal breaker for someone who know the spec well and can play it on a high level. As for the crates... they just bad.
  13. Fear not! If the OPS will needed to be completed for the story, we will be here to help! hint: thread in my signo
  14. Oh that. Let me put it this way. Jugg is not a tank for me in 5.0.
  15. Kinda late for the party but here's my view: Jugg tanks feels slow/lazy/shackled/something along the way like this. Cooldown vise they aren't so bad as you know, but I don't feel them as mobile as a Shadow. PT: I only saw numbers on the PT section ad they seem awful. Anyway one of my DPS is pulling up his PT tank just to show me that it is still viable(lol, it's not, rip healers) and I get back to you when we're done.
  16. Just think it over. The 2 pc set bonus gives you 2% DR for 3 secs, this is not gonna save yo butt. The 4 pc set bonus lowers the cooldown of your Taunt. This could only save yo fellow tank's butt. The 6pc set bonus extends the duration of Deflect. Now this can save yo butt. But Deflection is on 1 minute(?) cooldown, so think about in this timeframe. So in conclusion, the Sin tank set bonus is really not something that enhances your survivability, so why not go for a DPS one?
  17. Fair enough, yes. Not here to argue, just throwin' ideas around
  18. Pretty much yes. I would even go for a DPS relic instead of Shield Amp., but to each to them own. Also as far as I know/remember there are some low def rating enhancement recipes for shield/absorb. Might consider them as well.
  19. Hell no! For a DPS class/spec the defense stat contributes 0 to the damage output. Matter of fact the defense stat gimps the damage output.
  20. Consider a DPS relic instead of the 240 one. You trade negligible survive ability to some DPS output(moar aggro) and some HP(and crit!!!!! that comes usefull for a taunt ). Or you can go nuts with 2 DPS relics, since Shrouded Crusader needs to be used to work well and I tend to forget sometimes(others are as well....). Also with 2 DPS relics you can show off to newer members of your group how savage you are. (insert MLG horn here)
  21. People need to realize, that the Dread Master conclusion is NOT something one can just do solo. Their whole arc built upon that they are the stongest, meanest force users ever to live and they are a 6 pack. Yes, 6 of them. Trust me, to keep the immersion of their story they need to be behid an OPS, instead of a solo way to mop up the floor with them, especially 4 of them at THE SAME TIME, it's just meh. Noone wants that... That's just throwing the great story out of the window. No gain. So again, here I come, bit of an advertising, but still, to ANYONE who wants to finish ANY OPS in a calm way, here's your chance: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=900926 Please do realise, that the tartget audience are those who +1 to the OP's idea, regarding solo ops. No need for that, just read what we offer and take it from there.
  22. Late for the party, but maybe I have a silver lining here! Check this out: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=900926 #SayNoToSoloOps
