  1. Well, my optimism led me to believe that the new warzones meant cool beans for PvP. When I saw the: "How do your want your balance changes?" post, I was thinking they are asking because they are working on it. When I saw the Mega-rumor post I thought they are about to let us all play together. Cross-faction + Mega-servers?! WOAH! But they said "no" to both, and the summer is coming. Which means that going into the summer we'll see population drop while the balance and matchmaking remain the same. In the end of the last summer, when the PvP servers started moving to the Harbinger it got bad. This summer is going to be worse. I don't want to play through the Open Season on the Rest of Us. I'll leave it to the others to discover the joys of pretending to play team ranked in the regs.
  2. Ah, no. I am pugging as a DPS. I am guessing there ain't enough developers for them to premade, so I am doing all I can to make sure the developers will have a complete, unbiased and firsthand experience of how reg. warzones are for Jane-in-a-pug vs a ranked premmie with current matchmaking and compartmentalization of the servers. I can't possibly rob them of that awesome experience by trying to fudge the queue. I want to be there thinking that the other sucker who is trying to separate a Sorc healer from the Jugg tank during the average 1.5 GCD life-span is a developer. That thought will keep me going through all the facerolls.
  3. Yes, both "no" to mega-servers and to class updates basically sealed the deal for me. I am not a great player, and I have my limits. I have resubbed to try the new warzones, and, well, that's what I am going to do, but that's really the last time. I am tired of how divisive this game is, how it creates the cast-based society, and without the swift changes that will mix up the community, it is leaning even more towards the predetermined outcomes and lack of suspense.
  4. That's exactly what I got of the one owpvp event I went to on the Harbinger. Just healing the greens around some hillock on Belsavis. I think I got some achievements out of it or something, but it was really boring.
  5. It's actually very logical in how it does things combat wise. I've just started trying it, and like the learning mechanisms the BnS employs. It's a no-nonsense. They lock you in a small room, and you ain't done until you press those buttons exactly the way they want you to. Better than "here is 40+ abilities, some of which may or may not be useful for your AC, do what you wish with it" Character art is not my cup of tea, and the game is nowhere near as elaborate as SWTOR is in terms of character choices, backstory, alts connections, etc. But in a way, it being light on that front makes it more manageable imo and easier to pick up. Well, says someone who got one day of playing it. But I'd like to keep playing.
  6. Again, this is perfectly fine, except it brings the person who was on top of the queue in the warzone that s/he have not participated in. So, an alternative clean closure to a lost warzone would be nice. As well, it would be nice, if warzones did not start in 5 or 6 vs 8 comps. Do you seriously believe that 5 vs 8 can win a warzone? 1 vs 4? If the outcome is crystal-clear, just shut it down. Don't call it a 'mercy rule'. Call it Improved Shut-down Sequence or something. The way it is handled right now is not optimal. It's idiotic. Then, again, what is. Better to Shoot, Shovel and Shut Up.

    A PvP a Day...

Well, it grew in telling. That's said, can't say I can play arenas regardless. Unfortunately, my yesterday's gameplay in SWTOR went this way: Start Uploading PTS. Go play BnS. It finished uploading by the time the lights went out. I took a look to make sure my chars copied to PTS, and discovered that my Merc showed up on the loading screen wearing a Rak event helmet, bracers and boxers. The different kind of fantasy genre. But almost felt just right after the sojourn in the BnS. My chars on PTS are a Merc (to test arenas, of course!) and a Madness Sorc ('cause my third day on 65 gotta be on PTS!), names are Glaen and Last'Spark. I'll try to start queueing right at 4 PST, and go on as long as I can take the beatings. EDIT: and since mega-servers turned out to be too good to be true, I suppose I will be buying merc and leveling commando or something. Or not... kindda lazy now.
  8. Unfortunately, it also installs a revolving door, and the zone drags on and sucks in folks in the queue, messing things up a lot for them too. An organized shut down of a zone would be preferential. Nothing wrong with having an option to say: "Well, guys, you've got us. Cheers." And, GSF already has the 'fall on your own sword' option so, why not in ground PvP?
  9. I really did not feel like Harbinger was any bad. What problems I have or had were all mine, but sticking to one char seems to be working for me. Anyway, I've been talking about playing more than playing this week, 'cause that's how the week went, but I am hoping to dust off my ships and all that. Happy gaming!
  10. Certain races restricted for specific AC, until you hit level 50. Alternatively, you can buy racial unlock that immediately unlocks the race, but it is fairly pricey. It will unlock that race for your Legacy. Premium races, like Cathar and Togruta, you buy the unlock for, so they are available for the Account.
  11. Backlash is a very dear utility to take as a Sorc, seeing it is on the Heroic Tier now and competes with Mobility and Corrupted Barrier. Most of the time folks will know to shoot your bubble off from distance, and to activate it manually, you need to mouse over and look at it to click, which I will be reluctant to do if I am in a company of even one Sin, let alone 2+ EDIT: Phasewalk, on the node to get back, rather than to get away. See it. The trouble is if you just come to cap, won't they sap you while you are planting it?
  12. To what gain? 8 medals and 100 wz comms? If people are so cheap that they'd win-trade for that, oh, boy, let them. They must really need it. Any win-trade that requires a full group to participate is not a bad thing, as it stops victimizing the poor honest guys trying to pug against all odds.
  13. I was just... letter swapping. Yep. That's it. Letter swapping. Okay, sorry for the derail. It is a good thread if folks just actually think Intermediate Level, not the Things the Other People Do That Make Me Scream in Agony!!!!
  14. As is nigh everything in this game. I'd rather give for the sake of those who are eager and fair, than withhold for the fear of the crooks.
  15. That's me forgetting that in English they normally say: 'switching' or 'swapping' targets...... My bad.

    A PvP a Day...

We actually were on during your usual queueing time & I cross-checked servers and factions for ya. Here, I've just rubbed it in. Let's keep trying!
  17. I'd rather people fight full strength, but genially respected people's efforts to fight back, even if their ability is far, far, far lesser. It's the s*****ring, the spits, the trash-talk that I object to. Someone sitting it out to make a match 3 vs 3 instead of 3 vs 4, or the guys doing 1 vs 1 duels when they pull 1 vs 4 - that's an offer of respect. Charity and "letting them" is not needed. One knows that s/he faces a real champion when s/he does not feel any shame in losing, no matter how badly. A real champion's grace is in projecting confidence that does not need a validation by humiliating others, and that extends to the loser and makes the loser want to be better, not to take revenge on the guy, but to be more like him/her.
  18. No. Leveling, mirrors, gear, augmenting, crafting, completing dailies, conquest points spread out when you actually might have hit it if just played one (ez credits for what you do for fun), and actually playing the created slew of characters w/o forgetting how to play them in between, losing touch with the guildies, missing out on something your friends are doing on another faction/another server... server separation is a nightmare. I will be happy to see anything that reduces the need for server hopping.
  19. It has been scaled to account for healing.
  20. I just want to play on my server, on the toons in my guild, where my legacy is.... I am just so deathly tired of server hoping. It is extremely draining to be playing on more than one server. At some point I tried to maintain both Imp and Pub toons on the harbinger, and level Imps on SL and Pubs on the Hawk. The worse time I had in the game. My choice is to play as many different modes of gaming as possible on as few servers as possible, and on as few toons as possible. The spreading out results in a terrible burn-out. I'll take what the Harbinger throws my way. And, again, may Bio gives us the Mega.
  21. Basically, all the warzones are open for farming, if the other team choses not to 3 cap, score 6, etc till the very end.
  22. That is why I am in favor of the third option, the same one we have in GSF. Fall on your own sword. Finishes the game quick without deserting, still get the comms, and stops the other team from inflating their numbers. It's a pretty cool RP choice.
  23. Do not humiliate someone with pity. Being honorable is not an easy thing. One can always pick out the genuine sportsmanship and respect for grit from condescension and bullying, no matter if that takes form of stomping or fighting with one hand tied behind one's back.

    A PvP a Day...

I was trying to bubble and off-heal you, guys, and pull Lance out but it was not as smooth as I wanted it to be. I am happy to keep trying if you guys are. I am off game tonight, but back tomorrow. I think if we focus on that we'll be better long term than by just trying to win this or that one match.
