  1. I haven't bought an issue of Star Wars Insider since the early 2000s. They had quite a lot of information in them and were fun to sift through and read. But I was young and without much an allowance, so the few copies I do own will do.

Or they won't, because I cut out the "cool pictures" and I have no idea what I ended up taping or gluing them to. But yeah, there goes some of the pages, lol.

  2. I'll continue to play SWTOR for the story and GSF. There are a few things they can do to inspire me to renew my subscription. Remove level-scaling, putting a character of mine in the game, showing up at my door to give me a hug..

I also play World of Warcraft, though it is a title I don't tend to stick around with for long. We'll see where it goes months from now, and how I plan on approaching it then, if at all.

tried FFXIV (does a lot of things better, initial story is not one of them)

I played FF15, it's a bit slow, and takes ages to get anywhere, if it had a free option, I'd play it more to get to the point where it's exciting, and then sub, but as it is, I just couldn't be bothered subbing again.

I'm struggling to get through the initial story for Final Fantasy 14. I hope it gets better after that, because I've been occasionally frustrated. Not sure if I can persist, but we'll see. I hear people say it's a story-driven MMO, but I'm like, "What the [REDACTED] is everyone talking about?"

The Elder Scrolls Online has always been a mediocre game for me. It hardly plays like an Elder Scrolls or even an RPG. I don't even read the quests, because I don't care, though I wish I could. It does great in the Themepark MMO department. It is not perfect, but it is a very play-your-way kind of game. There is nothing that forces engagement; you take from the game exactly what you want. So I am just unlocking dyes; creating, customizing, and gearing up alts; and PvPing. Sounds like SWTOR in a way, but it has a much bigger population.

My community has been getting down on Division 2 (huge optimism for their SW game)

I first experienced The Division titles earlier this year, but the first title is nigh-impossible without a questing partner, so I had to drop it. The second one does better, but also suffers from the "I can't play without no one to play with" problem of the first, except this time it's at endgame. They both require an Internet connection to play, despite you almost never seeing or engaging with other players. They both feel like great games whose potentials have been held back by the multiplayer side of things. If I ever find people who want to play in a group, I'll likely hop back in.

Because of my feeling toward The Division, I do have concerns about the coming Star Wars game.

As for single player titles, I am currently playing a thief in Skyrim. I tend to create numerous characters for RPGs to experience the different stories and factions.

I am also playing Warcraft RTS to not only revisit them, but to refresh myself on the lore and the feeling of those games to help me better write my character biographies surrounding the conflicts featured in those titles. Currently on the second title. I have already produced a video and an associated document in tribute to the first, not unlike my SWTOR videos.

I have a whole bunch of others on my radar though. I tend to go through an entire franchise before moving onto another.

I do owe Dragon Age Inquisition (I know) and a few Pokemon games another playthrough for completion reasons.

Taking a break from the Pokemon titles at the moment. Finished Red. Was going to do the other Generation 1 titles, but the repetition would make the experience a little stale, plus I'd like to revisit them in the future again anyhow. Going to do Gold after.

Didn't like the characters in Inquisition and that just about did it for me. I have thought of revisiting the first, and playing it with different characters. Just won't touch the DLC, or any of the sequels. Maybe DA4 will be great, however.

Might start FFXV finally if the fans I run into in the wild stop acting like online Jehovah Witnesses (no offense!), but no rush there as I've not been too impressed by what I have seen.

People are making it out to be some holy grail of MMOs when it is really just like any other with its own set of strengths and weaknesses. Really, if not for Activision Blizzard sucking, I likely would have continued to forget about its existence.

  3. 1. Buff the Flashfire

    2. Nerf everything else

    3. Put one of my characters in the game

My main wish as GSF stands right now, is that they finally create a load-out based system, so that we can queue with several builds of the same starfighter model, instead of just one for each.

5 Flashfires on my bar... Honestly, I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry, lmao.

  4. Years ago I called for a developer to be fired. Never again!

While I am not entirely satisfied with the state of the game, nor do I approve of all the decisions they make, that's just a stupid line to cross.

On another note, you can make a good game and make money at the same time. These two things coincide. Designing a system to solely make money can in fact have the opposite effect. I.E. Massive exodus from World of Warcraft in recent months.

  5. I fail to understand the logic in designing such an easy leveling experience, only to confront players with an overly difficult endgame. The worst of both worlds.

This game lacks the middle ground.

Ironically enough, other MMORPGs, such as The Elder Scrolls Online, fail to balance their game to a satisfactory degree as well. Super easy leveling experience, boring and uninteresting, followed by a tedious and miserable endgame.

Two conflicting design philosophies that divide the player base and make players such as myself unsatisfied with the product. For what purpose, I do not know.

As a result, I end up gravitating toward Player Versus Player.

  6. I have never been the victim of drama myself, so I am fortunate in that regard. As a matter of fact, I have been the perpetrator of such.

    Under only one circumstance.

This is Sa- me when someone scratches the paint of my Flashfire.

When I am simultaneously sliced and protorped.

When I am ioned and railguned.

When someone makes it personal.

To anyone else watching this. To anyone else reading this. To all those people who wanted to prove a point to me and make me recognize them, if you want to prove yourself in this game. Fly a Scout.

    Not just any scout. ;)

  7. PvE is general is not super active and you'll likely struggle finding a group for raiding and dungeoneering. A lot of guilds do Story Mode (easiest difficult for raids), but not for progression or even just Achievements. Rather, for a concept called Conquest.

I play World of Warcraft as my second MMO because of its active PvE community (and also because I grew up with the franchise.) Final Fantasy 14 is another one. That being said, I won't stop you from trying to find your place in SWTOR. The more people interested in a specific gameplay element, the healthier and more active it'll be, and the same goes for the game in general.

If you find yourself out of luck, you can always pay for a carry.

I know a Discord that might be able to help you do group content the normal way, but I am uncertain if I am permitted to promote it, so I won't mention it. You'll have to do some digging yourself, I'm afraid.

  8. Yeah. No.

They butchered much of the original content in the sense that most of it is irrelevant. Exploration Missions, Heroics, and now Bonus Series; now nothing you do has any everlasting impact and none of the faces remember you, because they all reset. It was like having my memories and accomplishments taken and thrown out in the trash. One of SWTOR's greatest strengths is its story-telling experience; by doing these quests, I felt that I was helping the galaxy develop and building a reputation, that I was actually there doing those things, and that these were characters who would remember me and show up and thank me later. All of that is gone now, all for some silly Conquest dung.

If they were to continue resetting quest progress, then they would need to make it so that the first time you do them is "recorded", and THEN the quest turns into a daily in which previous progress is not overhauled. I do not know if it is like this already, as I can't tell, but I don't think so.

Not everything in this game needs to be developed around Conquest. You already have enough Conquest activities already, so no thanks.

  9. I too hope you have gotten your YouTube channel back. If otherwise, then I offer my condolences. It is unfortunate that you do not seem to have backups for your videos.

I am not too fond of YouTube myself, otherwise I would be engaged with it a lot more. SWTOR videos galore and everythang! With voice and facecam to boot.

Since Freedom of Speech is an Amendment, YouTube and various other social networking websites stationed in the USA that engage in censorship require a swift kick in the butt to somewhere else.

    Preferably to Madagascar.

  10. A proton torpedo clipping into my Flashfire is utterly unacceptable. I demand that Bioware address this obvious glitch at once. I also noticed a black texture clipping into my health bar during combat, but it is especially noticeable during PvP.

In both cases, I ended up dying. As if the shoddy job at graphics design wasn't bad enough, I then had that to tolerate on top of being blinded by such shoddiness.

I have never ever heard of graphical nuances effecting gameplay, but this is it. Only the utmost incompetence of computer programming could allow such a travesty to occur, especially for a title that's been live for an entire decade.

    ...

    :D

  11. They should have just tied Galactic Seasons to Conquest. You get Conquest by doing what you want to do, so just give us Seasons points and currency while we're at it. But no, they want our playtime, so they had to make it a separate system. I guess it's working out for them. But really, the only thing I go out of my way for is the massacre of insects. Even then that gets tiring after a while.

Thank you, OP, for feeding my Flashfire.

Unless you are on my team, then I'll probably be like, "OMG do you people not know how to POINT & CLICK? Is this your first video game EVER? Could you not have at least tried Tetris, Pacman, or even Solitaire first!?"

    :p

  12. I re-subscribed to try the game again. It seems I am done with mmos as selling carries invalidates the content yet in the new landscape of things it's all over. Enjoy your digital currencies that I for one will never see in a game i used to try to play.

I almost gave up on SWTOR and MMOs in general for the same reason. Albeit for other reasons as well.

At least sale runs give me the opportunity to do the content at all, specifically in regard to SWTOR due to its low population and player participation. So it's both a good and bad thing, really.

Why bother at all, though? It's hard to leave something you genuinely enjoy, and SWTOR will always offer me the right ingredients when it comes to what I desire in a game, regardless of any caveats; I feel the need to divulge myself in an online environment to combat boredom and isolation, even if I don't blend well with other people; I already have most achievements in the game, even almost fifty percent of Operations achievements. The only ones lower than that are Flashpoints. I just need to push a little further; I'm rich, apparently.

So yeah, it'd be rather weird for me to truly give up on SWTOR despite how much time, effort, and money I put into it over the years just because of one or two things. I should be doing raids the proper way. I know I am good enough. But it's either this or nothing at all. I guess I am just a sucker for SWTOR.

With all that being said, I will still advocate for the development team to either make said content more approachable or stop developing it entirely. That either means nerfing the content, making it solo-able, remove level scaling, or from here onward, no more Master Mode Operations. But they probably won't do that, nor will they address the inflated GTN prices, because of the money they must be making from people buying and selling Cartel Coins for carries. Yeah, I'm partially to blame. Sue me.

  13. Strike Fighters have an innate decrease to lock-on time and an increase to firing arc. This makes Proton Torpedoes the fastest firing missiles in the game and the easiest to aim, and Strike Fighters the best Bombers. This is in conjunction to the separate buff Proton Torpedoes received too, which made them the go-to missile type, replacing everything else.

Cluster Missiles, while also quick, don't do nearly enough damage to or have as wide of an arc to complain about. They'll only kill you if you have no health. Proton Torpedoes will kill you with full, and they travel very fast. Faster than a button press. By comparison, Cluster Missiles are literal garbage, but at least their balanced. Like Proton Torpedoes USED to be.

I only use Protorps on a handful of ships/characters, and for role-playing reasons. I don't do meta. Plus I'm good enough to make ends meet with weaker, niche builds.
