  1. Crude racism and blatant sexism in public channels? That's just people for you in these kinds of games. Don't think I've ever seen an mmo without it and have dabbled in the genre for nearly 15 years. Just ignore and move on, don't let chat trolls get to you.
  2. In my opinion, the problem isn't so much a system that rewards you loot crates for just playing, as much as GC being THE end game. Swtor just lacks fresh more classic mmo type content, that is new flashpoints, ops, new planets with new factions and dailies etc. It's fine as auxilliary system, but they're clearly not being given the resources this game actually needs.
  3. There's also two guys dressed up as Captain America just to the left of his shoulder.
  4. Sith warrior is the second most popular class choice in that pie chart, and Korriban is a better starter world imo than tython, which could have caused less players to lose interest that early. That's about the only way I see Vette taking that second spot, seeing as how you get T7 in Kotfe before Vette. Lana is probably because it's the first Kotfe companion all 8 classes gets after you get put in Carbonite, and there was likely some player drop off with everyone starting it not seeing it through to the end.
  5. What reasons that do not involve trolling other players is there really for refusing to pick an AC?
  6. To be frank, we're unlikely to get a new one even if SWTOR shuts down. A star wars single player rpg would be more likely at that point, if that. I think investors have started to wise up to the fact they're not going to get WoW scale of money by making an mmo.
  7. Different design goals. WoW was never about having players being at the forefront of storytelling with dialogue decisions and so on. Blizzard puts gameplay first in everything they do. The "roleplaying" in WoW is much more about gear, stats, and so on. Well that, and the fact they actually have the money to do a lot of things SWTOR would need to be able to compete as an mmo rather than a story experience.
  8. It's just marketing speech. He's not going to backtalk his own community or game in a stream meant to promote and sell you on KotET.
  9. The trailer isn't made in house at bioware. They're made by a company called Blur who does contract work for all kinds of game dev studios etc at a rate of about 1 million per minute. You won't be seeing anywhere near that quality in a "cutscene", this is just to draw in people who have no idea about what swtor is, it's a marketing device.
  10. Personally? The complete and utter disregard for player agency with choices given even within the very same episode. I saw my character strike down Arcann with a effin lightsaber, yet he's somehow still alive by the end of the episode and I can't help but wonder why they even gave me a dialogue option that said "Kill Arcann". I couldn't help but roll my eyes at what was happening when my character sat in that fighter, opened fire on the shuttle, and he still got away. The fact they did this with a moment they've been hyping up the entire season is baffling. The writers have no idea how to write a story with player agency that matter, the fact they failed at this even when stripping it down to one story for all 8 classes is maddening. The outlander is not the main character in the story. He/She is just a pawn of the writers.
  11. That Scorpio would betray us was about as subtle as a punch in the face. Regardless, I had fun with the episode. I just hope they don't try to turn Arcann into a companion now that he's lost control of the fleet, and actually let me kill him. That would be an awful "plot twist".
  12. The fact that an event like this isn't retroactive is probably my biggest concern. I have 6 characters of different classes above lvl 50 already. I don't feel like replaying them all on throwaway characters just for some cartel packs in the space of only 4 months.
  13. Honestly, I mostly play swtor as a single player rpg interacting with no one, mostly for the story content in the downtime between other single player rpg releases. If I cared about ops/flashpoints, id probably just go play WoW instead again. Might be selfish of me considering it's supposed to be an mmo and that makes me a bit of a "dirty casul", but I'm happy as it is. So option 1).
  14. Kotor 2 tried to deconstruct star wars morality and the force in a way that likely wouldn't have been green-lit if lucasfilm/arts hadn't been busy with producing star wars films at the time. Darth Traya was at the absolute heart of that idea. Any canonizing there if it happens, will probably just be the name, and nothing more.
  15. Is it worth mentioning that kotor had these styles of jedi robes and that took place about 300 years prior to swtor?
  16. What is the point of the escape pod on my personal shuttle? I have completed the entire class storyline on my jedi knight now and did not get to use it even once.
  17. Saw that much from the tooltip but slash had slightly higher numbers on its tooltip as long as the blade rush buff was kept up, which was what got me confused. Cheers for clearing it up guys
  18. Do this ability replace slash? Just got it at level 45 and saw it have no cooldown but was wondering if i should replace slash or alternate between the two trying to maximize the buffs time up since the duration from using it is so short, cheers in advance
  19. Its expensive partly because its rare but also because it is an extremely iconic item to anyone that ever played the first kotor, with the Revan reveal and the cutscene on Korriban iirc.
  20. If the Mandalorians where to unite as a race under 1 banner similar to the mandalorian wars in the kotor 1 era they would probably stand a fair chance against the empire, but i was under the impression that its just mostly scattered and broken clans now 300 years later in the lore.
  21. Id play a sith like a sadistic bastard thinking everyone is beneath him/her, i think being a dark sided republic character would be a better take on the grey moral area somehow.
  22. Hello I'm currently playing a jedi sentinel at lvl 38 currently but i have been thinking about rolling a class that can heal afterwards when i'm all done with my knight, but been wondering a thing. To put it short, which side have the best story line and character interactions out of these? I am clear on that they play by the same gameplay mechanics but with different names and animations, so how good the story is would be my main issue, cheers in advance
  23. Its not a single player game? it sure as hell feels like one except for the occasional heroic level mission once in a while.
  24. Did you miss the reading comprehension classes at school? Id suggest you to read that post again thank you. If i need to do ANYTHING at all if i want to stay out of the event, its not optional. In case you can't figure it out, its not optional if i need even the slightest bit of active input on my end to avoid it, in this case looking up a vendor and spending credits for griefing protection The main event is on Alderaan, not the fleet. Havíng to watch out for random ***** coming running being infected on a entirely different planet or space station to avoid the thing means its not optional because it require active input from my end to not get hit.
  25. You have a strange idea of optional if i am forced to buy something to avoid getting infected while just standing about on the fleet.
