  1. I am a consular and I have completed the entire story, including the nathema flashpoint and I don't have any alert for Felix Iresso's return. Is this a bug or is there something else I need to be doing?
  2. Interesting theory.... but then why did Luke need training? According to your theory he should have just been imbued with auto force powers to rise up and counter the Emperor and Vader. For that matter, why did Palpatine need training? Why didn't he just have auto dark-side powers to rise up and counter the dominance of the light side jedi at that time. Why does anyone need training? I respect the thought you put into this, but I can't see it working as a theory that can hold over the whole cannon. And I GUARANTEE you that Disney did think nearly as deep as you did trying to come up with an explanation.
  3. I am having the same issue and it is true for both warzones and gsf on one toon. I don't know if it is the toon or being on Iokath, although my alignment on Iokath was consistent with the toon's original faction (imperial for an inquisitor). It is REALLY annoying. I haven't tried being on other planets but found that as long as I stayed on my flagship or the fleet, it would let me enter the wz or gsf match. But it is SUPER annoying
  4. Many interesting points raised here. It would be nice if they were true. However, I will state again, if you look at the empirical data, what do you see? What do the players whose names you recognize as being good GSF players do? 1. Aces that used to fly scouts all the time now fly strikes 2. Aces that used to fly gunships all the time now fly strikes 3. Aces that used to fly bombers all the time now fly strikes It's the others that still fly scouts, gunships and bombers.
  5. Strike fighters are the new dominant ship: a better scout than a scout (missile breaks but with much tougher hull), a better bomber than a bomber (tougher hull and with missile breaks), and by far a better gunship than a gunship (protorps=new rail gun). Over time, I expect we will see matches come to be strike v strike matches only. I have noticed the following trends: 1. The aces who used to fly scouts now fly strikes 2. The aces who used to fly gunships now fly strikes 3. The aces who used to fly bombers now fly strikes The inexperienced and new pilots fly bombers, gunships, and scouts; and die. Also, a personal note of frustration: plasma railgun has got to be the worst weapon in game now. I can hit a strike fighter with a fully charged shot for 1080 damage, and it takes the strike's shields down to only 50%. I have to get another shot in to even start to damage the hull. In the meantime, the strike will sit right in the line of fire and calmly fire a protorp and one-shot my gunship. As I see it, the only solution is this: Make a Jedi/Sith floating around in space the new GSF ship, now that it is canon:rak_01:
  6. I think it is interesting actually how little discussion of Last Jedi is going on. A few folks debating back and forth, but excitement level has noticeably dropped since Episode 7. Saying the New Republic fleet was all destroyed by those 5 planets that apparently you could see from anywhere in the galaxy (because this new star wars entire galaxy is the size of the distance from Earth to our Sun) was just a quick plot device devised by writers in a room to explain away the question: "Where is the New Republic in all this? Why aren't they fighting the New Empire?" Who wants to take bets that the way they deal with the fact that the one original character they left alive is the only one whose actor has died will be in the opening crawl? What is the over/under on the first line of the opening crawl of Episode IX being "PRINCESS LEIA HAS DIED"
  7. I want them for the following reasons: 1. I am trying to gear up a pub toon for raiding and I'm tired of the RNG of the command boxes just giving me blue 244 stuff. 2. I want to do a 2 match Daily on an Imp toon, not a 4 match daily on a pub toon 3. I want to do a 12 match Weekly on an Imp toon, not a 19 match Weekly on a pub toon. Dailies and weeklies take too long as a pub. I want to avoid pub pvp, go spam basic attack in imp pvp and still win, then move on with the game. Right now.
  8. Who wants to bet that in the end this whole "traitor" thing will also be a forgotten plot point.
  9. I also did not get my conquest rewards. Our guild finished 8th on Alderaan on Jedi Covenant. My main got the rewards but no others. So I resubmitted for the other toons, along with guildies, and then by the time they responded it was in to the next week, where we didn't place, and they responded to me and other guildies that they couldn't see my guild on the leaderboard, so we didn't finish in the top 10. REALLY FRUSTRATING! Not only is there no apology, there is even accusation we are lying.
  10. I stopped pvp'ing several months ago, and game has been a lot better for it. I still check the forums from time to time for any sign it is getting better.
  11. Google "Ilum 1.2" to see why Open World PvP will never, ever, work in this game again. Remember Fray!!!

    My master plan

Wait until unassembled components become legacy bound. Switch to imp toon and get carried to pvp victories by my imp teammates while I eat popcorn for fast unassembled components acquisition. Move to pub toon. Purchase top level gear. Rinse and repeat.
  13. If you worry that Disney is killing SW, just wait until Episode VIII, where we will learn that Anakin actually was not the chosen one, or the prophesied one. That was a mistake the Jedi made. Anakin was just some dude. Luke redeeming his father was nice on a personal level for Luke, but really meant nothing in the broad scheme of galactic importance. Instead, Rey is actually the chosen one.
  14. I am so tired of warzones. I play pubside. I am not the best but have improved over time. The problem is that so few else on pub side are improving. This is a coordination game folks (what's a coordination game, you ask? It means you have to go back to school!) So basically it doesn't matter how good I become, how much I practice, or gear up, because unless others on my side do that, my ability to win warzones is basically nothing. Case in point, I was in a voidstar. I was playing a tank. On the attack round, me and a healer went left. With one other person, we kept the attention of 6 of the other team. That meant that the other door was a 5 vs. 2 situation. And yet my great teammates could not for the life of them defeat 2 of the enemy and cap the door. I knew that facing 6 of the enemy we would not be able to cap our side, so we focused on pulling their attention away from the other door, and yet to no avail. So bad. What use is trying in this type of environment? Why even play? At the end of that game, even though dps and heals were roughly balanced across the two teams, our team managed 1 kill. 1 kill. The other team members ranged between 50 and 60 kills. What on earth is going on?
  15. So let me get this straight.... Say I am currently galactic command rank 120. I am wearing a purple 230 set bonus headpiece, but I ditched the shell back in the day before they suddenly decided you needed the shell to buy the next level gear. So I am going along, playing SWTOR. I play a Story Mode OP, and I get a unassembled headpiece token. At the same time, from the operation, I get enough cxp to get a command rank and inside that crate I get a tier 2 PURPLE headpiece with set bonus. So now I have this tier one token and tier 2 PURPLE set piece. There is no way to convert the tier 2 set piece that is PURPLE to anything. It can't be turned into a gold tier 2 headpiece and it can't be turned into a gold tier 3 headpiece. It can also not be turned into a purple tier 3 headpiece. So that piece is a dead end. My only option if I want to start purchasing the gear with the unassembled warzone pieces is this: 1. I use the tier one token from the story mode OPS I just did to buy a purple tier one headpiece with set bonus 2. I then use THAT shell to purchase a tier 2 GOLD unassembled headpiece by combining it with those unassembled warzone things 3. I can then trade that unassembled token for a tier 2 GOLD headpiece, which is roughly what I already have, except its the PURPLE tier 2 headpiece. 4. But then with that GOLD tier 2 headpiece I can use even more unassembled warzone stuff to buy an unassembled tier 3 gold piece. 5. I then use the unassembled tier 3 gold piece to buy the actual gold tier 3 piece I want. Is all of the above true? Is this my only option? Is the tier 2 PURPLE headpiece that I have now essentially a worthless place holder until I replace it with a gold tier 2 and then gold tier 3 using tons of unassembled warzone thingamabobs? Anyone?
  16. Rey and Snoke are brother and sister. They are basically the original incarnations of the light and dark side of the force. Rey was Snoke's sister eons ago when they both discovered the force. He became the dark side and she became the light. She founded the Jedi Order and told them that she would one day return as the chosen one who would bring balance to the force. Anakin Skywalker was a red herring, a mistake, he was never actually the chosen one. The Jedi made the mistake of thinking he was and paid dearly for it. Rey is now the reincarnation of this original light side sister. The trilogy will continue to make the original Lucas story pointless. As we saw in episode VII, none of the original characters were allowed any progression since episode VI. Leia is still a rebel leader. Han is still a smuggler. Luke is still the last Jedi. Defeated the Empire made no difference. Defeating the emperor meant nothing. This is the Rey and Snoke story now. This is Disney's story
  17. We may not like it, but like it or not this gearing system will, averaging over the entire playerbase, actually get people to play more than they otherwise would have. It is basically psychology. Look up classical conditioning, it kind of evolved from that. We may not like it, but the possibility of getting a great reward will keep us grinding more boxes. Our brains enjoy the excitement of opening that box and getting something we really hoped for as a random drop, despite potentially opening many many boxes before we get it, much more than they enjoy seeing the "price" of a desired object (e.g., 300 radiant crystals, or defeating that certain ops boss), and then grinding out the activities to be able to afford the "price". That approach is perceived by our brains as more as a chore and is associated with much less reward or pleasure. So we may hate this gearing system with all the passion in our souls. But our brains love it. Though there are exceptions, on average, gamers will play more hours with this gear system than they will under the previous gear system. The trick will be for Bioware to find just the right rate of cxp gain to raise the number of gamers pleased with the system on average to the point where the game maximizes profit.
  18. Because being the best gear makes it the best. And don't I DESERVE THE BEST? Right from the moment when I met it, saw it, I said "it's awesome" loud and clear, This is the only gear that can be, as awesome as me, so I'm making plans to grind this new best gear!
  19. Remember though, that with all those warzones you will be getting cxp. So in the course of 300 warzones you will actually rank up your GC quite a bit. Out of those dozens of boxes you are opening from Galactic Command you could end up with 1, 2, or even 3 set pieces, which means you don't have to buy them now with the components. So in a sense you will just need to buy what you don't get out of the crates. Could be a lot, could be a little.
  20. All i know is that I was galactic command rank 25 when I logged on tonight. I did a planetary quest activity because it had the bonus (though I suspect I got the same cxp as if it didn't have the bonus), I did a gsf match and I did a random veteran flashpoint. After all that I was... galactic command rank 25. I still needed about 500 cxp to hit 26. That pretty much killed my playing desire for a while. If it takes so much effort and activities to go from 25 to 26, what will going from 105 to 106 be like?
  21. This is beyond frustrating. I get missile locks on ships, release the mouse button to fire the missile, and nothing happens. This happens even when the enemy ship is sitting perfectly still, at an unchanged range for the entire lock. Many times, it also happens that I am getting a missile lock, the enemy ship remains within range and within the missile lock circle, and the lock just suddenly stops. On the other hand, it seems like enemy players are able to get near instantaneous missile locks on me, even in close quarter combat where we are circling around and around. What gives? How can I also get near instantaneous missile locks on my opponents that don't suddenly vanish into the ether, like the game's code is subpar at best?
  22. Many imps on tonight [redacted] are pretty rough spawn campers.
  23. You know, I am indifferent about jedi robes, but you have been asking for this for so long now, that if they finally came, I would be extremely happy knowing that your dream had finally come true.
  24. Ah but you forget. The developers have mentioned that it is the thrill of getting and opening the GC boxes that IS the fun of the game now. To that end, pursuing cxp in the most efficient way is in fact the proper way to maximize fun.
  25. So today is bonus cxp for flashpoints. I entered group finder via the galactic command interface, and was placed in a group and assigned Kuat Drive Yards. When I finished KDY, I had only received 300 cxp for the ENTIRE FP. Finishing KDY gave me 20 cxp Doing group finder gave me 240 cxp One elite on the first floor gave me about 20 cxp One elite on the second floor gave me about 20 cxp. That is it. The final boss did not drop a cxp pack, like most other flashpoint bosses. Think of it. Most flashpoints have about 3 bosses. Each boss will usually give you a green cxp pack. The final boss will likely give you a blue cxp pack. In comparison, KDY only has one boss. And that boss does not drop any cxp pack. Combine the cxp from those packs with the cxp from finishing the flashpoint and you end up with a LOT MORE CXP than you get from doing KDY. So consider this a public service announcement and warning. DO NOT do KDY if you are after cxp. Even with the flashpoint bonus, it is a complete waste of time.
