Mail doesn't work between Imp/Rep, but there is a cross-faction AH on Nar Shadda I actually took Cybertech/UT/Scavenging, but I usually like to be a bit different...

I'm a new healer too, and the advice here is really sound! The only advice I have as a fellow newbie - practice, practice, practice. If you have a friend in the game and can practice healing him/her on some heroics or even mucking around questing, do it. Find a keybind scenario that works for you - whether it's clicking, function keys, keys on the mouse - whatever seems easiest and most instinctual is right for you. Just go with it.

As others have said: I tend to not start healing straight away but focus on CC/looking over the fight. I'm still low level, so I throw heals at the tank to keep him between 75-90% and otherwise once in awhile throw a rock or a kame-hame-ha. I space it out though, and I stop for a few seconds in between so I don't draw aggro

Clicking on nameplates is likely going to be better for you than trying to use the F buttons

I'm pretty psyched in dabbling with Cybertech so far - I've made parts for droid companions of guildmates/friends. The mods, grenades, and things like earpieces and custom bikes are really useable for all. Glad I picked it, even if it's not directly meant for force-using classes like me.

I'm on The Ebon Hawk server, guild "The Legion" has just recently been formed and we're coming up with a charter. I'm actually not the Guild Leader, though I am an officer. Most of us are new at running a guild, but are totally willing to give it a shot! We'll likely post more details once we come up with a firmer concept and think about recruiting! We do know we'll be a medium/light RP Republic guild focused on RP and PvE, rather than PvP. I doubt we'll be "hardcore" and more of a "let's try it!" casual-ish group of people. Also can't wait for Server Forums so the community can come together more properly, as it seems Ebon Hawk is currently one of the "quieter" servers so far in terms of RP presence. Maybe we're all just shy?

Yeah, I'm traveling for roughly a week for Christmas - between my family and the boyfriend's family, I won't be able to log on entirely during that time (can't take the desktop on the plane! ) I don't mind though - real life and family comes first. The hassle of traveling etc. is worth it.

See, I actually hated that choice. I get that the woman had good intentions, but she still stole from soldiers who were just trying to do their jobs. I can't imagine taking something from sick soldiers :\ I mean - who steals from a vet, you know? I felt like the "Dark Side" choice there was really bad. I know that when the choice is "or kids" you're supposed to always choose the kids... but it was maybe-sick kids vs. definitely-sick soldiers. I took the Dark Side hit on that one.

A friend of mine just got his e-mail at 11:00-ish. Given that the waves seemed to be planned for 7:00, 9:00 (went early), 11:00 (EST) -- two hours seems a good bet, at least for right now.
