  1. Around what should healers be doing for HM progression these days?
  2. Have you found that one raid night is sufficient for progression?
  3. I'm looking more for a group that plays exclusively or primarily on the Imperial side. You seem like decent folks and I wish you the best, however.
  4. I still get level 60s needing on Black Market gear they can't equip, and they always mutter something like, "for comp", when questioned. It's such rubbish, everyone knows they're going to vendor it. Really ruins the vibe of the group.
  5. Hello friends. I recently transferred my operative healer main to the Harbinger to expand my raiding opportunities. I am 2/10HM currently (hey, I came from the Bastion, that's a bloody feat over there) in 192/198s with the 4-piece set bonus. I have previous experience in NiM progression (again, on the Bastion, where it's a miracle for a tank to show up more than once a week) and am good at what I do. My strategy of Standing Around Fleet Waiting For PUG Opportunities has not proved as rewarding as I had somehow expected (but I met a guy named Venom-something, he seemed cool), so here I am pimping myself out. My name is Dryzek, and I would like to follow you around as your own personal loofah.
  6. HM Manaan, me on my op healer main, thoughtfully geared in 192/198s, 4-piece set bonus, raid-aware, newly transferred to the Harbinger to expand my raiding opportunities. I like healing, I take it seriously, and the last straw before leaving my old server was my tank telling me that "healing is easy and boring" because he did a SM on his merc alt. I don't need to do flashpoints, but I enjoy them, and as I'm new to the server I want to meet people and see which guilds are good (and which are to be avoided). So anyway, I'm there with the tank, and the two dps are taking FOREVER to come. Long load times or something. It's the first pull of the flashpoint, with a few champions and a lot of aoe damage which shouldn't be stood in. And the tank decides to pull without any dps. No dps, so nothing dies. Tank stands in Stupidity Circles. Tank can't or won't get aggro on everything so I'm preoccupied with healing myself because I refuse to pay repair bills. Because using Flame Sweep when all the mobs are bottlenecked like that is SO HARD. So the tank dies, I stealth out, and all the mobs aggro on the two dps still at the zone-in spot. Tank says, "So I guess you're not a healer?" "Excuse me?" "I died, you're not a healer. You don't even have a guild." "Well maybe if you didn't pull without any dps things would turn out better." Tank quit the flashpoint. Things are definitely going great for me on my new server!
  7. Ohhhh that annoys me no end. When I'm on my healer, I prefer to keep idiots and ninjas in the group rather than vote-kick them, because I can let them die repeatedly. Then someone uses the kolto and I curse at the injustice of it all. My diabolical revenge schemes work much better in HMs.
  8. Could someone please explain to me why this stupid slot machine is making more people more upset than anyone was over weeks and weeks of rampant endgame gear exploitation? I mean, sure, they nerfed the slots too hard, I agree, but get a grip.
  9. It was so beautiful before. I really hope they fix it.
  10. so... ah... I was planning on transferring to Harbinger this weekend, because the opportunities for raiding on my server are abysmal. I've rolled a couple of alts on Harb to check it out and didn't notice any performance issues. Are there really so many problems like this?
  11. So is this a good time or a bad time for me to transfer to the Harbinger?
  12. This right there is the reason I have completed this fight only once. Most people from group finder seem allergic to anything resembling actual human communication, steadfastly remain mute when others are trying to settle on a strategy, and run about like scared groundhogs when **** goes down.
  13. ... I'm sorry but you're doing it wrong. There is no excuse for HM S&V to take two days. And if that's really the best you can do, why did you expect current raiding content to be easier?
  14. I'm confused. Are people really quitting the game because new operations aren't as facerollable as tactical flashpoints with pugs who are still in leveling gear?
  15. When we enter that area after the first boss, I always run the idea by the group beforehand to see if everyone is on board with stealthing it. Inevitably everyone is cool with it and agree to move ahead to the next boss area while I take care of consoles... and then pull mobs anyway while I am deep inside the cave waiting to click the console. Sometimes they die, and I laugh to myself. "Why?" I ask. "Why did you go off and pull those mobs?" "More credits!!!" "Well now you're dead and out a repair bill, GG."
  16. I'm not sure why I'm still subjecting myself to group finder. I suppose I meet interesting people. Like the level 60 sorc in a HM flashpoint with about 32k health. "How does someone manage to get to level 60 with 32k?" I ask. The sorc then proceeds to challenge me to a "dule". In the flashpoint. I'm a healer. Or the PT tank in Rakata Prime who ran off on his own, aggroed all the trash, and died. Then pulled mobs I had cced so we could stealth past. Then ran right through the whole gauntlet of mobs on his way to the rancor after the rest of us had skipped it, and died. Then pulled the rancor boss before the dps were in the area, and died because I let him. Then blamed the dps for being noobs. Then complained about the marauder stealing aggro. Then disconnected so my babygirl Kaliyo could tank the rest of it with zero problems. Oh, and then I noticed he was from my guild, which is why the dps weren't saying anything to me. Or the jugg tank (also in Rakata, because nothing else ever pops) who augmented for endurance and who had zero grasp on the concept of threat generation. He would tunnel-vision one dude at a time, usually the weakest, while I got all the aggro off all the others. What was really impressive was that no matter how many times he would hit the mob attacking me, he couldn't win threat from me. How does that even work?! About halfway through I got tired of it and pointed it out, and he said, "lol I am kind of drunk right now HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" Whatever, if he wanted to keep dying because I was too busy healing myself that was his right. On the final boss he tunneled Darok, leaving me to tank Arkous. We wiped due to the circles, and so I had time to explain that, you know, there's two of them, and maybe he should hit Arkous once in a while to get his attention. He actually said to me, "I didn't know I was supposed to keep aggro on the boss. You should have explained the fight beforehand."
  17. Entitled tactical-flashpoint heroes who want gear and achievements they didn't earn? I am seriously getting sick of running into players in nearly full 198s whose only raid achievement post-3.0 is 16HM Cora. But anyway, I had another cool glitch with Cora last night: We got her to the point where she heads to the escape pod, and then instead of taking the pod, she mistook it for a hostile player and stood there attacking the escape pod. It was actually pretty hilarious.
  18. I have to agree. I spend a lot of time thinking about this and we're all capable of concocting excuses or rationales for what happened, but it really comes down to some weird, indistinct plan for the game's story progression and Malgus's plotline got broadsided by a Panzer tank. It's like the Quinncident: We can make excuses for his betrayal and awkward resumption of normal conversations all we want, and some of it might even make sense, but it's really just essentially a writing disaster.
  19. Killing the wookiee could also reward you with a wookiee corpse stronghold decoration of some sort. Throw rug, wall hanging, decorative afghan blanket.... I am really not a fan of Jakarro and even given his limited relevance to the plot I don't get why he was allowed at the planning table with Marr and Satele and other big shots.
  20. I'm fairly certain that's an oversight left over from the old days. Four players in 148 in a 60HM is terrifying. There's a difference between "no one" and "not many people who can actually play". As I said, I have no problem getting into these flashpoints: it's finishing them with whatever horrors group finder chooses to throw at me that's the question. There is definitely a lot of people queueing.
  21. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you're a dps. My healer has had zero issues with queue times for HM flashpoints. When people say "nobody is doing flashpoints", what they invariably mean is "there is a known shortage of tanks and healers and there is no conceivable solution other than to sit in queue as dps for 2 hours and complain".
  22. I KNEW IT. Pierce is my favorite companion and I dragged his butt over every inch of the new planets. This is so infuriating. One of the Sword Squadron units in ToS sounds like it was done by his voice actor (Adam Leadbeater) but I couldn't find it listed in the credits. It's possible that by the time I got to that boss I had spent so much time listening for him that I misidentified the actor.
  23. Everything about Imperial design, architecture, and fashion is superior to their Republic counterparts. It's not specific to any one ship feature.
  24. Is there really any way to foolproof a system to protect people who have already shown an unwillingness to read warnings and take responsibility? How many more confirmation pop-ups do we need?
