  1. Most of veteran mode does not need to be nerfed just some of the boss fights that many struggle with due to the buggy mechanics; such as the Vaylin fight in chapter 12. They can either fix the mechanics or balance the difficulty better. veteran mode is not supposed to be as hard as master. and some of these battles (such as the one mentions) the difficulty between veteran to master is hardly noticeable where as the difficulty between story and veteran is immense. that is not properly balanced no matter how much you want to shill for them. yeah, I was doing that. go try the fight on veteran mode and get back to me. Since one of the updates a few years ago the fight is totally out of whack. You get damaged by the area damage even when out of the radius of the circle; this makes the fight near impossible. Balance dude; balance. story mode = easy/normal, Veteran= hard, Master = very hard/impossible. The "impossible" difficulty is where the fight with Vaylin is set to right now in the veteran mode. Some of use like a hard challenge but not an impossible one. This fight and several others in KOTFE are not properly balanced to a 'hard' difficulty in veteran mode. I am asking/suggesting they fix the balancing of the difficulty. there is no excuse for going from wanting to throw my keyboard at my screen in rage on veteran to breezing through story mode without even taking 20% damage. It was a joke how easy it is on story. again, there is no excuse for this; and the fact you are defending this comes across as shilling hardcore. Veteran and story SHOULD be closer together. Veteran should be an in between story and Master. Currently it is not. Veteran is much closer to master difficulty. it is unbalanced and frustratingly so. dude, now I feel like you ignored my complaint entirely. I said I like a challenge. Not an impossible rage inducing one. If I get defeated by Valyin a few times and walk away with a hard fought victory with only 25% health left or something that is fine. I am up for a few defeats. I fought Valyin for 3 hours straight and most of the time died in a few seconds and when I did manage to survive in a desperate manner following guides to the letter I still only managed to get her to about 25% health and then she one shot killed me. I went through the enternal championship solo no problem; that was a fun challenge. This is not. btw, I read that discussion and several others. the link you provided the doesn't offer nearly anything in terms of advice. there are way better articles and videos out there. the issue is those are all outdated. the veteran difficulty was changed and is much harder now because of the fact that the player character is nerfed in comparison to a few years ago.
  2. They need to really balance this better. I was pretty happy with the difficulty on veteran mode until chapter 12 of KOTFE. I am for a challenge but not one that leads me to be so frustrated I throw my keyboard at my screen. They really need to balance this better. Especially some of the boss fights. at level 80 with 340 rated gear I could not beat Vaylin in the dark cave. I tried about 100x and didn't even get close. I think 1 time I got her down to about 25% health and then she 1 shot killed me. It is a buggy fight where you get spammed with the floor circle damage even when outside the circle so there is no avoiding the damage plus on veteran mode randomly she will hit you with some kind of force scream that takes out about 3/4 of your health (which is insane). But then if you switch to story mode like I did because I got sick of it; the fight is so easy it is not even satisfying. She couldn't even get me below 80% health and I didn't even really have to move around to avoid the damage. That is totally out of balance wacky difficulty scaling. I would go so far as to say it is totally broken scaling and the devs need to fix it (instead of just moving on to the next bit of content to keep the money flowing in which is all they care about). Too bad we didn't just get a KOTOR III instead. I hate MMO's; gameplay wise they are always like this. Too much content for sake of content just to keep people subscribed. Don't look back at making the experience better, or fix the gameplay associated to the story. Just get ready for next content.
  3. Having this fight now on veteran, buggy as hell is an understatement. even if you are outside the red circle it still damages you half the time. I am all for a challenging fight but buggy mechanics are unacceptable. Edit: no matter what I do, speed buffs, mad dash WASD; I get hit with the spam circle damage every time even if I am out of the circle. This is bull sh*t! Edit2: raging a bit here; WTF is the deal with this fight. I started out immediately avoiding the floor circle damage but she hit me with some kind of force scream right away that took 3/4th of my health immediately with one hit. I am geared at 340 and fully augmented. How the F U C K can it be this unbeatable? Because this is isn't a fight in which you can learn mechanics and avoid damage; you don't even have an opportunity to last long enough to do anything. If the fight goes on longer than 2 minutes you can't win. But if you try to focus all on damage you can't last more then a few seconds. totally bogus. Edit3: so I switched to story mode just for kicks and this fight is ridiculously easy on story mode. Like she could not even get me beneath 80% of my health and I needed no buffs or heals. How in the heal can they justify such a ridiculous difference between story and veteran mode. WTF. If that is not bad enough I wasn't paying attention and switched back to veteran to restart the fight not realizing this restarts the entire mission. FML.
  4. I appreciate everything you said except "if you want easy, play literally anything else". I said in my post I am only doing it because of the galactic season objectives. I really would not be playing it otherwise as I do not enjoy challenges like this in a side mission. I would actually prefer if the emperor was this frustrating and the space battles easier. I am for climatic story challenges (dark souls etc) but not grindy side missions that are not connected to the story. It makes it an annoying challenge that doesn't really have a story related payoff. and the feeling of "finally" you get, imo is not worth the aggravation.
  5. I am raging at this too, I gave up on even attempting heroic space missions; nothing is worth being this flipping hard. but the stupid galactic season objectives needs 2 heroic space missions so here I am attempting them. I can say these are absolutely ridiculous. I watched a few youtube videos to see how others are doing them. I go tall my upgrades and do exactly as they do in the video. I mean even down to the exact seconds they are using their emp and extra shield. I have all the upgrades to level 7. I am weaving around like I see on the video but I cannot beat it. on Lorta Escort I got to the last few seconds with only 1 jedi fighter remaining. Not only could I not finish him off I ended up dying with a 3 seconds left. There is no reason this needs to be this flipping hard.
  6. I am running into this same question. I have gone through Nar Shadda SF at least 4 times and do not see Sanno anywhere. been up and down every area multiple times. No clue
  7. I actually have not been playing that long. once when it first came out and I didn't like it. around 2015 (when Kotfe came out). I like it better but still didn't dig it enough to stick around. Only trying it now again after more then 5 years. I think it is closer to 7 years now. But when it comes to "newer" players; there isn't a way to start right at kotfe is there? so they won't be 'new' players by the time they can even turn in the crates to the specialists. And by that time I don't think they will have need for the gear; maybe unless they specifically like a set like you point out; but then it is still useless to 'force' dump that gear on every single crate turn it. At least make it random gear or something useful or mix it up somehow. that is a great idea. I 100% agree this would be a good way to 'solve' the complaint. Yeah I am not a big fan of this collection sets that can't be sold. it a game mechanic that I find immersion breaking. I would prefer they just make items bound or bound to legacy and only allow 1 per character or something. So you can sell the item only once. But even so; making it like 1 credit is enough that you can sell them instead of destroy them and not enough for people to farm creds of them. I mean you don't get that many to begin with but if you do get the collection, who is going to set there and farm those items for 1 cred at at time. I guess my bigger complaint is with the fact you have to run through heroics hundreds of times to get enough crates to rank up and it doesn't seem like enough of a pay off to just then deconstruct the items for nothing in return.
  8. Yes, I did mean the remnant gear; obviously the companion gifts are useful; but the drops of deco/speeders is way too minimal. out of well over 200 crates I turned in I got roche ice speeder 2 times and 3 decos in total. that drop rate is ridiculous. I get the visual aspect of it but they should just make it selectable to complete collections and be done with it. And I stand by my argument that by this stage of the game people have their preferred 'look' and are not going to be switching to remnant gear which is bland and forgettable. Yes but you don't need 1 piece of gear per crate for that. not when you are turning in almost 100 of them each to get to rank 20 on each of the specialists. You end up just getting a ton of gear you immediately turn around and destroy. just make it sellable for 1k each or something. not going to screw up the economy with the inflation rates what they are anyway. thanks for this; I did not know; at least you get something. I wish you would get some story based content out of it though; a piece of dialogue, cutscene; something just to signify impact story wise.
  9. lol; the economy of this game is utter trash and has been since the introduction of the cartel market near 10 year ago. Remnant gear being sellable had zero impact.
  10. I have not played this game in about 5 years; so just at this part now where I am turning these in. The thing about it, imo, is the gear you get at this stage of the game version is essentially useless and you just destroy it. What is the point of including it anymore? surely you can replace the random drops you get from the supply crates with something else, something useful or something you can actually sell. I just don't get what you are even supposed to do with them. Hardly anyone by the time they get this late in the game is going to use that gear; maybe send it to an alt since it is legacy gear? I don't know. just seems stupid and makes farming those supply crates essentially pointless What benefit do you even get to rank up the specialists anyway?
  11. I am on Chapter 8 right now with veteran mode; the amount of damage you do is fine the enemies are not unbeatable. The one thing I notice though is not only do they hit so hard you get killed sometimes faster then you can do anything; but I notice the companions when set to heal seem to be totally nerfed compared to the rest of the game. I can do FP on veteran mode with my rank 50 companions pretty easy. I think with these being 'new companions' with low rank the presence being so low is what makes it this difficult. I guess you have to invest in millions of creds getting companion gifts to get these new companions ranked up fast to do veteran mode. Issue is I played this before and I know some of these companions don't stay permanently; so it is simply not worth investing in ranking them up when they don't remain.
  12. List was good for Taris and Jedi Temple; great stuff. Dark temple didn't work out for me.
  13. this one is kicking my butt too. He can use the tentacle heal twice in 1 round now; this makes it literally impossible because you break doesn't cool down fast enough. also he'll drop when all 4 tentacles are still up; meaning that trick of leaving the room doesn't actually work. Very frustrating. there should be no Heroic4 content anymore. stupid. Edit; they almost certainly updated this so it is unbeatable solo. Not only when he gets below 30% health he basically can do the tentacle heal as many times as he wants (sometimes 3 or more times back to back within 1 minute). I also found he does not go below 40k health or so. For example I had on heroic moment, played every angle of hiding just outside the room so the unleash would cool down and got him down to about 40k and he just stops taking damage. Why in the hell would they update it to make it unbeatable solo when it is content so old that no one really plays it all that much. There is no reason for this to not be just a regular heroic 2 mission; same with microbinoculars; no reason other than laziness. Edit: So I finally beat it after about 4 attempts of having to start over after getting him down to about 30% health. It was sort of luck. So I did a combination of the tricks above, like going just outside the main door when the tentacles are up so your unleash cools down. But the caveat is you CANNOT go too far out. Just outside the door and around the corner. If you go too far out the spawn will try to chase you and then reset when he gets through the door. After he gets to 30% health you MUST have unleash and heroic moment cooled down, you need both. here is where the luck came in; I was doing both these tricks until the last 2 times he finally exploded the barrels. I do no know why I was able to get the barrels to explode the last 2 times, I don't think I was doing anything different. But when he is less than 30% health he takes almost no damage unless he hits the barrels. God, that was a nightmare.
  14. that is both funny and a little sad. KOTOR and KOTOR II (with the restored content mod) are truly some of the best RPG and story telling experiences I have ever experienced in games. I personally only come back to SWTOR every couple of years just to see more of the story content which is the only option to see the story and timeline play out a bit more. I do think the solo storylines of SWTOR are okay; but they pale in comparison. Same with the characters. but I have played those so many times there is literally nothing new to experience with them.
  15. I am running into the exact same annoyance right now. and really pissed about it. that is fine and dandy if the entire quest like was not soloable until that point If the entire series disclosed that you need 4 to complete I would never have bothered with it. The fact of the matter is this quest is misleading and makes it seem like solo content until you get to the very end in which it is then impossible to solo. Solo content should be solo, group content should be group. Putting you down a questline that has all the appearances of a solo quest to then sweep the rug from under you on that last quest is B.S. no matter what kind of game you are playing. the fact you both think it is acceptable that they did this and you have a condescending tone about "shock horror" of having to group up pisses me off. Again I am fine with it if it is disclosed up front it is group content. Microbinoculars and seeker droid was not; it was 'sold' as solo and then changed in the last part of the series. That is NOT acceptable.
  16. Honestly for the majority of KOTOR fans we never wanted an MMO to begin with. This is the least desirable option for those of us that wanted to see the series continue but were forced to endure it as an MMO experience. Which I personally hate.
  17. Umm, that is B.S. The entire microbinoculars series was solo content until the last mission. That is misleading to those of us that are focused on the Solo content. I managed to get all the way to the doors before realizing it is not completable solo. That is just B.S. And frustrating; that was a lot of running around only for it to amount to nothing. It would be one thing if the entire mission line tells you in advance it is a heroic 4, but it doesn't, you don't find out until the very last part of the series when you are near the finish line. I managed to solo all the way to the doors and now stuck. I should not have to hunt down a group of rando's willing to do this with me when the entire quest series was 'sold' as a solo quest line. I am really pissed about this. All this effort going to all these planets, running around like an a** just to get stuck at a door puzzle you can't get around without having 4 people or 2 that you can gimmick the system with.
