  1. Do you have to finish KL? the quest pops up after Voss Interpreter’s Retreat is completed. I read online that the "eyes on the prize" is supposed to be start after you launch Road to Nowhere. Is there some other requirement to get this dialogue to become un-greyed
  2. I am having this same issue. as far as I know I complete all other quests that came before this. I do not think I missed anything. Just finished the Voss Interpreter’s Retreat. I did complete the road to nowhere; I am currently on the A favor or two for KL. Update: you do in fact have to complete all story quests on Kessan's Landing before that option is unlocked. Pretty stupid too, it is like 1 line of dialogue is all you get out of it. more disappointment from this game.
  3. good point; and yet the flag is still not accurate and the game often will be broken and give the generic dialogue like you have not met him before. I find this inexcusable.
  4. Fighting and defeating one of the games most important characters since launch is not important? No wonder bioware gets away with the lazy content they put out; consumers like you will just keep paying and making excuses for them. Consume product, forget anything that matters, get ready to consume next product. You must be an MCU fan as well Not only is the dialogue insufficient from Malgus to highlight the importance of the Ilum storyline and False Emperor Flashpoint (where you defeat him) in many play throughs (mine included) the flag is broken and he doesn't remember you at all and there is no dialogue to trigger; it is like you are meeting him for the first time (which is dumb and immersion breaking). Since Malgus is a main character since launch; the content being this lazy and broken around such a main antagonist in the story is simply not acceptable.
  5. "due to game limitations; one size fits all" That is a developer limitation, not a game limitation. If they can't properly track significant events like you completed a flashpoint in which you defeat one of the games main characters since launch. All RPGs that have choice have a limit in how they can play out cutscenes and dialogue to account for many variables, choices, paths not taken etc. Good games with good writing and proper dialogue flags will do a good job of hiding this limitation. great games make a convincing illusion of choice and consequences when in most cases there is few. Bad games will either be lazy and make all dialogue and cutscenes as generic as they can so they don't have to bother with the variables and flags at all; or they will have broken mechanics that pop wrong flags or don't flag things properly. SWTOR is a game that has both problems to an extreme high level. Like no AAA game that also charges you a monthly fee can justify being run this poorly. My recommendation to all, stop subbing. I only sub for a couple of months every few years. Last time I played was 2016. I come in to check if the game got any better and check out the expansions (stories) on my main. and this time has been the same as the last, I was unimpressed and dropped my sub and now will only play until the time runs out for what I already paid for. I recommend everyone do this. Either they will get better to try to attract new subs, go free to play, or close shop.
  6. I got the bugged version. So damn annoying. Pretty damn significant event; you defeating and seemingly killing Malgus only for him to come back and the game not recognize that at all is a joke and a sign of how poorly run this game is. content pushed as much as possible for cheap as possible put out at the minimum possible to keep milking subs as much as possible.
  7. Alot cheaper to produce and maintain but no way to milk users for a monthly sub fee. There is truly nothing about his MMO that is worth a sub fee. Just make it 100% free to play and rely on the cartel market sales and charge a 1 time fee for expansions. but they won't do that because they are milking users for profit. That is obviously all the care about. Milk it until it is dry. they are in a death spiral; which means they are the stage of a business where they will charge their consumers as much as they possibly can for as long as they possibly can while providing as little quality as possible until they close shop.
  8. MMO that require subscription to play are designed to be a money grab; that is why you have to pay for the game on launch AND pay a monthly subscription. when I say "cheap" i mean cheap in terms of ethics; not in term of overall production cost. And while the game was the most expensive to produce they have been cutting corners and downsizing support ever since launch. This means the new content they MUST produce to justify a subscription fee has been getting made cheaper and with worse quality; and that trajectory is very unlikely to change.
  9. good point, I should have been more specific with my question; why does it need to be so restrictive? Why is there no way to trigger a romance with say Raina if you are sith warrior that didn't romance other characters (if the idea of multiple romances was a hard "no")? It wouldn't be that hard to do, you just have to slightly tweak the dialogue you would do with Raina in the class story. It would be a lot of work in terms of repurposing those scenes and making them possible in cantina's etc. But totally doable. And that would make getting the characters during KOTEF and beyond more meaningful and far more meaningful if you decide to kill someone. For example, I killed Aric in my play through after he disobeyed orders. I feel this lose mean nothing because at that point there was not anymore to get out of the character anyway. Now if he still had those companion quests available like during the class playthrough, now killing him takes on a whole new meaning. I am sorry, it is just laziness and profit at cost of quality thinking from Bioware. They don't care; they just want to pump out the next fp filled expansion asap to get people to move on and hope they forget about how bad the product has been, just get ready for next product. definitely not giving them anymore money; already dropped my subscription again; first time I subbed since 2016. I'll give it a few years and check in again for month to see if the quality is any better. At this rate, the game might not even be online in 3 to 5 years.
  10. Are there any issues they care about? I don't think they care about going back to fix anything as long as they think they can just move on to pumping out new (and often subpar) content. Speak with your wallets people. Stop subscribing. Or do what I do and sub for 1 or 2 months every couple of years to check the status. I last played in 2016 and been playing now again for 2 months. I already cancelled my sub and just playing until the time ends. This game is not worthy of getting my money still. 13 years later and the game is still a mess. Star Wars and Bioware are just substandard IP's now.
  11. It is much cheaper and easier to make the flashpoint stories that are extremely lite on story telling and character interactions/dialogue/choices and consequences. Why dedicate the tiem and resources to making a threated planet story that then ties into a broader galactic conflict when you can just drop a flashpoint a few times a year and just attach it on to your PC's story with 1 cutscene. I get they are limited by their resources but geez, if they want the came to continue and charge people monthly subscription to get to play these new storylines then for F's sake make them better quality. I only drop in this game for a couple of months every few years, and am never impressed enough to stick around. I already cancelled my sub this 'round' and will only play until the sub time is over, 3 weeks now I think. Why would I stay and keep playing when I get barely any of the content I want to play (a story/character driven RPG) and when it does come it is subpar? And to think; we could have had a KOTOR III instead. I will never forgive bioware for doing a MMO instead, cheap money grab banking on the strength of the Star Wars brand and the KOTOR story. This and what they have done with the Dragon Age series. So much potential, now they feel like a brand that is in a death spiral.
  12. It is annoying that there is not some kind of mechanism to reset romance flags, or have multiple romances, or have a way to switch back and force. At least in the SW class story there is a cutscene where you can suggest having more than 1 but you get shut down on that by Vette. Why wouldn't a 3 way be considered between Lana and DS Jaesa though, Jaesa already said she is cool with it; and Lana being a sith should be willing to give into passion over this idea of 'love'. I could go on a tangent on this; why is there no way to trigger romances with 'returning' characters you get after KOTFE? For example, my sw now has Raina and Kira; wish there was some way to get flirt options and try to trigger something with that. How about all the other characters you had regular flirting with and then don't even join the alliance or join you as companions? Like the Twilek major I forget her name. the fact this game is an MMO, which eliminates any potential modding opportunities; I wish the devs would do a little more with the story and character interactions; they are getting more and more limited as they converge the stories and try to force you down paths they need you to go. This no longer feels like it is even a story based RPG experience. But then again I am a solo RPG player that actually hates MMO's so it is entirely possible that this game is just not for me. I only play for a couple of months every few years, and I am never impressed. Usually more annoyed and bored and unsatisfied with the story then anything else.
  13. So I played the Nathema Conspiracy for the first time; and if you do the Hidden Files bonus you can get some cutscenes of characters you know betraying you to Vinn Atrius. I understand depending on how you play it will determine who betrays you (I think anyway could be wrong). I am really mostly interesting in Indo Zal; that slimy little rat betrayed my (pragmatically DS) SW. I would like to hunt down and kill this rat but I don't think the game offers anything clear on if and how that can be done. Does anyone know if there is a quest or trigger of a cutscene in which you can confront anyone that worked with VInn? I googled for a while and could not really find any discussion on this specific topic. Edit: Never mind I was reviewing the story and realized he actually dies during the awakening of Zildrog. I don't know how I missed that. On a related topic, anyone know how to fully delete a post to avoid wasting anyone's time? lol
  14. Seem to be having the same (or similar issue) for me the Alliance alert did pop briefly; I noticed it when I was in the middle of the Nathema Flashpoint. I didn't want to disrupt that so I waited till after. But after it seems the alert vanished. It was not there when I started Iokath; so it seems the alert only appears for a brief time between Iokath and Nathema and if you play to far ahead the alert simply drops (at least that is what is looks like it did to me). This game is way too buggy to justify paying a monthly sub. what a joke.
  15. You know what, that might have been it. I don't know if I was at 7/7 for the week or not; I did not think to look. would the counter not go up if the objective was no longer able to be achieved? that would make sense. I was tracking the objectives I was doing; but not looking at the weeklies. I don't think there is a way to go back to check that; but I think that is entirely possible. Thank you for offering a suggestion that was not simply "it most have been human error" with no attempt at pointing to what that could have been. It is possible and I am open to the fact I might have missed something; I just didn't even have a thought of what it could have been. Your suggestion makes total sense to me. definitely something I will watch out for in the future galactic season objectives. Thank you
  16. Hi, sorry I moved on since the objective is now gone and there is not really anything that can be done about it now. I have not tried other crafting objectives to see if the issue persists to other galactic season objectives related to crafting.
  17. Hi, Thank you; I have kind of moved on from this but I will answer your questons: 1. satele shan server 2. Normal launcher 3. Not right away; It takes an hour to craft some of those items so I was doing other things while it was crafting 4. I started it when I was on the Fleet and if I remember I was on the fleet when it completed 5. I had the other 5 War Supplies (needed for crafting the Invasion force) in my legacy crafting material inventory. 6. Other crafting counters have worked when it was tracking the number of crafts and not specific item (for example "have your companion craft an item" type objectives the counter would work). The counters seem to work too for just about every other objective making me suspect there is some unspecified requirement I did not meet. The issue is I have no idea what the requirement was; the objective does not specify anything other then craft the item. thanks again.
  18. "usually" is the key word there. And in this case it is just as usual that there is a glitch as human error. Most glitches are resolved by a log out/on; but this was not the case. In my case I am not claiming to be an experienced crafter or something (that would be a false appeal to authority). In my case I simply can read and crafted the specific named item the objective says to craft. Now I may not be an expert of STWOR as I only play for a few months every few years; but I can freaking read. Tell, offer something constructive, how in the hell could I have crafted the wrong item when the objective is specific in the naming of the item and I crafted that specific item. You know who I know I crafted the write item for the War Supplies: Invasion Forces? because you have to have 1 of each type of the other "War Supplies" to craft it. And there is only 1 "Dark Project Mk-1". I simply see no way this could have possibly been misread. the objective was clear. Tell me how I could have got this wrong? I would love for someone to offer an explanation. I am open to admitting I did something wrong if you could tell me how in this specific case; not in other unrelated cases you had in the past. Stop comparing me to one other example of a experience you had with a completely different player on a completely different topic. It is a fallacy, and damn annoying. But not the same name. And the war supplies; invasion forces requires 1 of each other type of war supply. So unless something else is called war supply there is simply no way I crafted the wrong item. Now there might have been something specific about how I crafted it (some condition that was not listed in the objective) and I am open to hearing what that could have been. but as far as what the objective stated, I met the objective and it didn't count. sigh, well thanks for offering nothing useful and simply wasting my time with fallacious non-arguments. why even bother to comment if you are going to just double down on your "it must be user error because other users make errors all the time" non-argument?
  19. Yes they are pretty clearly limited in what they can do. Who knows, it is possible that if I went ahead and crafted all 5 the objectives would of updated. I just didn't want to do that in case something was glitched I would just be wasting resources it took me hours to collect. And if that is the case they can't do anything to fix the mechanic they could certainly send me the credits enough to use the catch up mechanic. Why should I have to use my own credits I earns to overcome a flaw in the game's objective mechanics in order to get the season rewards? I will say I was crafting other items in previous weeks and didn't seem to have this issue. It was limited to the specific "Forging Darkness" objective. No clue if I was the only one that experienced this or just one of few who noticed. and maybe no one noticed because they weren't going back to check if the indicator was updating for each 1 they created. who knows.
  20. So you going to attribute the ignorance of someone else and assume that I am guilty of a similar ignorance? do you know what a fundamental attribute error is? how about fallacy of composition? This is not me not know the mechanics of a fight; this is a objective counter that says to craft specific item and the counter for the objective did not work. I have absolutely no idea what I could have possible done wrong; there was no other directions in the objectives other than craft 5 of one item and then use those 5 to craft the other item. there were 2 indicators of 0/5 and both had the specific name of the item next to it. I crafted 1 of each of those specific item names and the indicator did not update to 1/5. Please tell how I could have possible missed something in this? I appreciate that you are trying to help (I think) but really you are just making a association fallacy and assuming I am guilty of user error for no other reason that I am a user that has a complaint about something apparently not working as it should. that is intellectually lazy and frustrating to deal with.
  21. I can assure you I was very careful about making sure I was crafting the correct item. There is only 1 "War Supply: Invasion Forces" and 1 "Dark Project Mk-1" in the game. those were the items the objectives said to craft. I am familiar with the crafting system of this game; although the particular items I had not bothered with in the past. If it was user error I would love to know what I did differently then what other users experienced. because it should be straight forward. You have an objective that says craft items A and B with a counter showing 0/5. You craft one of those items the objective should go to 1/5. It did not and once again I can 100% confirm I crafted the specific items the objective said to craft. "War Supply: Invasion Forces" 0/5 and then use the Invasion Forces to craft "Dark Project Mk-1". I did that. I even went ahead and crafted 1 Dark Project to make sure that the indicator just didn't count the Invasion Forces until after you crafted the Dark Project. But I was not going to craft more than 1 each until I knew it was counting towards the objective properly which it wasn't. I am a high level IT person in my profession (M365 and Azure engineer). I would not be opening a ticket if I suspected there was a chance of it being user error on my part. I went to the fleet and went on general chat to try to double check I did not miss anything and other users suggested I open a ticket. It is possible that others simply did not pay attention to the objective count indicator. maybe if I crafted all 5 the objective would complete; I was not comfortable doing that though because collecting the resources took many hours and I did not want to use the resources unless I was sure it was counting towards the objective. If you have any suggestion of what I could have possibly done wrong ("user error") I am all ears. Edit: FYI after I crafted one of each I attempted the usual fixes; logging off and on, going to the stronghold, cancelling all flashpoints phases I may have been in, etc. There is one other piece of info, I was in the middle of KOTEF chapters when I did the crafting; and some of the supplies to craft Invasion forces were from alts. (because you have to get those supplies from alts) no one crafting type can craft all the various war supplies needed to craft the "Invasion Forces" supply. when I crafted the Invasion forces the War supplies needed (from alts) was in the materials inventory (which is shared across legacy). I did not move those war supplies to my main's primary inventory. I do not know if this could be a cause of the failure for the indicator to recognize I crafted the item. But if it is the cause; it is a game mechanic flaw that needs to be corrected.
  22. I updated the thread title. Fair point that I did not title it well.
  23. I guess that is fair to not make story mode any harder; but Veteran mode (at least for some boss fights) needs to be better balanced. nothing in the intermediate difficulty should be that frustratingly unbeatable. If you want the mind numbing impossible difficulty, that is what master mode would be for. Veteran would be for those familiar with the game and mechanics and probably a bit higher level when starting out so scale up the difficulty a bit (somewhere in between story and master). I would say much of veteran mode IS already like that, but some of the boss fights are simply broken in terms of their balance. Especially the ones where you have no companion/no heroic moment (which itself is pretty dumb; that should be enabled inside of solo chapter missions).
  24. Okay so first all the customer service is a joke; in the last month I opened 7 tickets about broken mechanics and they do nothing except say 'submit a bug report' for the issue to just go away. If I had a 0% solve rate when I was a IT Service desk technician I would be fired. Anyway this issue in particular I was having was the "Forging Darkness" Galactic Season objective which shows 0/5 to create War Supply: Invasion Force and then 0/5 to create Dark Project Mk-1. I did the work of collecting all the supplies needed for this and created 1 of each to test. In both cases the indicator did not go up; it stilled showed as 0/5. so I opened a ticket and said I don't want to create more in case there is a glitch I didn't want to waste the supplies that took hours to collect. well the customer service did not bother to reply until AFTER the weekly Galactic season was over and I could no longer get the objective. And they denied/refused to do anything to rectify that, such as apply the 12 points to my account that I EARNED if not for the glitch. Ticket number: 39288092 Every couple of years I come back to this game to give it a try again and every time after about 2 months I remember why I don't stay a subscriber. I am about to cancel my subscription again. why give money to such a poor product with such terrible support?
