Light side, but not with the Jedi, but with LS Sith. The Jedi are not a good choice for waging war, they either sit peacefully meditating or fall to the dark side, but hardly become the leaders they need to be. LS Sith on the other side seek to conquer and maintain strong military, but opposed to traditional Sith, they don't kill ppl just for lolz and actually protect their own.

Casuals who don't even need the BiS gear will surely be fine with only one alt geared. But most raiders use more than 1 alt (usually different classes and roles) to be able to raid multiple times or in different roles depending of missing teammates.

As for Kira, she was just one of the Emperor's Children, far less important than the First Son. What makes her interesting is that she expelled Vitiate with a Wall of Light, something not even HoT could do. She's clearly the most powerful companion with strong ties to the real villain, so I expect her to show up.
