  1. So did you come here just to announce that you're an illiterate moron? OP, I think you're right, and the WoW forums have the exact same problem. People mostly show up to complain about something hoping that developers will see their post. Those who are satisfied with the game are busy playing it, and don't take the time to type up their positive feedback. I seriously doubt these forums are representative of the sw:tor players' general feelings and attitudes toward the game.
  2. The only thing on my wishlist: 1. Mounts mechanics. For example, a rotation that makes mounts travel faster, or mount weapons with purchasable/lootable upgrades. Introduce combat mounts like the Walkers from ewok battle in Return of the Jedi. Introduce mounted pvp/pve.
  3. Relax, there are evolutionary principles at work in every economy. Noobs are quickly weeded out. And if they're not weeded out they're not being noobs. If people are selling valuables too cheaply, they'll get bought out quickly and have no valuables left to sell. If they're charging too much they'll never make a profit and they'll never be able to compete with you for money. There's really no reason to be mad at anyone for "not knowing how the gtn works," because if it's true then they are the only ones being hurt by their ignorance. If you're losing profits somehow, then YOU are the noob who doesn't understand the swtor economy. No offense.
  4. Good list. I especially like the idea of being able to control starships and fly them freely. I would add these to the list: Mount classes. Speeders have different abilities based on their class which can be activated through a rotation. Example PVE abilities: [Acceleration Burst] increases speed by 50% but increases chance of knockoff by 100%. [Power Shield] reduces speed by 50% and reduces chance of being knocked off by 100%. Example PVP abilties: [sticky Goo] drops an AoE that slows enemy players by 50%. If mounts got classes and pvp abilities, it would open the door for Swoop Racing (i.e. arena mount pvp).
  5. Okay...here's my 2 cents. I agree that this is a great idea in principle, but seems doomed to meet exploitation as in City of Heroes. The objection was: 1. If there are rewards, players will simply farm rewards out of the system. 2. If there are NO rewards, players will never bother with it. My solution: The Mission Creator has to PAY OUT OF POCKET to make his mission rewards available. In other words, if he wishes to award 10,000 experience, he must pay a fee (for example, 50,000 credits). If the reward is an artifact, he must supply the artifact. If the reward is money, it comes out of his own wallet. This way, player-created missions are too costly to be exploited. But the option to make them is still available to players who have the resources and desire to create them. And there is still a REAL INCENTIVE for completing these missions.
  6. First you complain that it's pay-to-win... ...then you comlain that paying doesn't help you win. Good riddance. Nobody will miss you.
  7. Don't forget the Cartel Market! You can spend extra real-life money now, as much as you want! You can pay Bioware even more cash than the bare subscription fee. That's why I returned.
  8. Wow. Normally I respect what blues have to say. But this is just...ugh...like you're being paid by Bioware to troll the OP.
  9. The solution is to buy out your competition. If people are selling valuables for squat, give them squat and you'll be loaded with valuables.
  10. For me it's not a question of manners. It's part of the roleplaying experience: When I'm on my dark side sith lord, I never help others. If they are weak enough to get killed by monsters then they deserve to die. That's what my character believes, and that's how he behaves. I sometimes "/laugh" at their dead bodies. That's just staying in character. When I'm on my light side trooper, I help allies whenever and wherever I see them in trouble. If you don't like it, tough luck. My trooper will still rush to your assistance. Nothing personal. I'm roleplaying. It's not going to change.
  11. I had the same problem. A bunch of people in general chat said the same. Last time I "tip" bioware with an in-game purchase. Of all screw ups this is one that they should never of let happen.
  12. I saw someone complaining about this in general chat. Don't know if it was you (it was on The Harbinger server) but if not then it's happening to other people as well. Definitely a big problem, needs fixing ASAP.
  13. There are 8760 hours in 1 year. Edit: Lol, I see that many others have pointed out how stupid this comment was.
  14. Give in to your hatred. Succumb to the dark side. Then you will have true power.
  15. Is this a gimmick to make us buy the security key?
  16. Here's what I want: The legacy family tree intergrates a system that allows your own toons to develop companion relationships with one another. In other words, I want a quest chain (with traditional storytelling) that allows my sith sorceror to meet and interact with my juggernaut... allowing the jugg to become a companion when I play the sorc, and vice versa, where the sorc can be my companion when I'm playing my jugg. It would be so awesome to see class stories expanded this fashion...a plotline devoted exclusively to my sorc and jugg becoming friends/allies. I guess there are too many class combinations though for it to be doable..
  17. I too quit WoW recently and migrated here. It's so nice to have voiced quests and a toon that has actual personality. Major improvement IMO.
  18. This is the 3rd time within a week that I have been required to give a "one time" password. What am I doing wrong? I'm not in danger of getting banned or something am I?
  19. (stated above) "eventually you're left with a bitter and unfulfilled person who also has a shield in the form of an anonymous avatar to hide behind. The toxic nature of these people infects others and then creates a sort of negative feedback loop which continues to reinforce toxic behavior" I find this comment insightful (if unpleasant) and tend to agree with it.
  20. I'm a new SWTOR player, recently converted from WoW. It may be true that WoW is getting more attention from its developers than this game, but that attention isn't necessarily a good thing. The new WoW patch is pissing off a lot of people. It trivialized the epic pvp gear that some people worked very long and hard to obtain. I never did pvp, but if I had, then this patch would have made me rage quit. So I'm just saying. Bioware may be ignoring us. But at least their not hurting us. Lol.
  21. Awesome post. Very well reasoned and articulated. I wish I had been the person one say all this! If you have a WoW subscription please repost on the WoW forums. They need to hear this message too. I totally agree with you... the reason people are so impatient, rude, elitist, and arrogant is because they are burned out. Burned out and frustrated with the game. And they take it out on new players. Thanks again for this post. I feel vindicated.
  22. I agree! SWTOR is a really rewarding and engrossing experience. It's got a story you can follow (unlike in warcraft, which was so confusing I had to give up in despair) and my characters seem like actual people instead of mute avatars. I'm staying too.
  23. I wish there was some way to organize a petition. I bet most players would sign it. Maybe create a new thread asking for signatures and request a sticky? Do you think Bioware would pay attention to a petition?
