  1. We sure have had plenty of crazy the past couple of months. I hear you, being an altaholic myself. I speak under correction but I think ESO use the same game engine as SWTOR and they don't have issues with their implementation of Legacy based guild member-caps. Admittedly I have not played ESO in a while, so maybe things have changed.
  2. Please consider changing the current format of limiting guild membership by character to LEGACY based instead. It would solve many issues wrt guild management.
  3. Funny thing is, that video that was sent to all Social media outlets and the devs was and is nothing more than a couple of corrupt players trying to sell software for an incredible price of $209.00 !! They tricked users into watching this video and even named their so called "proof" after the #1 guild on Star Forge. If that is not illegal, I don't know what is. It proves NOTHING, except teaches unsuspecting and gullible players how to cheat in minute details AND they make a ton of money out of the deal. Who in his or her right mind would look at that video and think it proves anything? They successfully built a strawman. How sick are these people?? And our devs cater to that crowd???
  4. Under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, collective punishment is a war crime!!! The atrocity!! https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cpsprodpb/1268A/production/_96220457_schoolgirltweet2.jpg
  5. Yep , same as before. My sub runs out in a couple of days, and I wont sub again for sure. Actually, no crafter need to sub anymore since you needed to be a sub to use all 8 companions. Now we can use our money for other games where we can still craft and enjoy that part of the game. One good thing perhaps is we MIGHT be rid of these whiners for a short while at least. I doubt they will be satisfied for long if they can still not beat the #1 guild. Soon they will shout about something else. No thanks. Enjoy the game with the kiddies in the mudpool.
  6. I know you guys have all been asked to contribute to this thread, and that is okay. Hopefully it will stay in this one thread. But its weekend... That being said, I appreciate your more reasonable approach to this. But IMO the underlying problem/issue we have here won't go away with adding more planets or broken down by guild size even. (for example. adding more planets as they have done with that one event, did not help.) Look at what happened on DM for instance. Maybe just do the Oprah thing and give everyone that can get on the board a title and leave everything exactly as it is. Said jokingly. but /shrug Personally, I like the idea of reshuffling all the planets as someone else suggested in another thread, to make them all available for L, M and S. So that all guilds will have access to the title eventually. Small guilds have as much a place in the galaxy as our large guilds. They should not feel they have to join a silly "alliance" to be able to get a title IMO. Stay unique and different. Offer players a variety of "homes" to choose from. Valid suggestions about changing the popups will be awesome too.
  7. Yeah, you do wrong. Scroll up and read about the whining to nerf crafting. I agree!
  8. Agreed! Do an Oprah - everyone gets a car. You get a car and you get a car - everyone gets a car!
  9. First of all, I cant think of any guild on SF that placed first for 3+ years. My own guild used to be the top dog for a long time, but our GM left and the guild fell apart. It's still around, but a shell compared to how active and competitive it used to be. Before that, and maybe 3 years ago it was another guild that used to be the #1. The current top guild used to have an arrangement with our guild and their players would join us when they needed a title such as Rishi (that was impossible to get unless you joined our guild at the time). The same is true for the current #1 guild. They have never denied anyone that said they needed a title and wanted to join for a week. I am not 100% sure how long the current guild has been in the #1 spot, but it's no more than 2 years max. But yes, I am all in favor of getting rid of the current planetary invasion system that is linked to guilds. I think making it faction based only will allow everyone, big and small, a shot at the title if their faction wins that week. I doubt the Rebellion will be the winners most of the time, but most guilds have both factions anyway. I might whine if the Imps win all the time, but its worth that risk Having more planets to invade might lead to even more issues down the line. Esp., with these new "alliances" that formed. It will mean that only alliance members can have a shot at any planet. No thanks. I prefer guilds to all be unique and offer unique experiences to players. That and change guild membership to legacy based instead of character based will foster loyalty and a sense of community within various guilds. I would love to have all my toons in one guild and not scattered across different guilds.
  10. LOL. I must admit I was /am worried about the moderators of these forums too (for similar reasons).
  11. Well, if they implement a similar system that other games use and allow guild membership to be based on LEGACY and not per character, it might perhaps solve a lot of other issues too. It will allow us to play as many toons as we wish without having to be considerate of the 1000 cap, and it will be easy to spot duplicate legacies as well (within a guild of course). No one should really care what happens outside their own guilds anyway. But /shrug
  12. Aaah, I KNEW I would miss something. Was only 3 years it seems I remember that time when we had to get on the board to get the rewards. Most of the GM's that used to be the top guilds, are not around anymore. Most left after that last CQ update. Leaving Ghost guilds behind. These new players that now "demands" to re-invent the wheel, probably do not know about this. Even so, I wish there was a way to get rid of all this toxicity we see. I am sure I am not the only one that don't even want to log into the game anymore. Reading the hatred and absolute disrespect for others and esp., our devs in these forums, tells a sad tale of our current gaming community.
  13. My apology in advance if I say something that was already said, because I haven't read the whole thread. I understand your viewpoint on this though, and you have a valid point. My disagreement is only that I do not hate or dislike big guilds, because I have seen how much work and dedication goes into maintaining them. Lately though, due to the abuse of Ninja inviting, I can see the other side of that argument as well. It's not pretty But hopefully that will be dealt with very soon. It's most definitely not easy for the mods of these forums to maintain their sanity while dealing with all of us, but in the end hopefully something good will come out of it all. We can but hope A possible solution IMHO might be what I suggested in another thread and was also suggested by others. I am sure there will be other issues that will come up even when removing planetary tags, but how else do we as a community "fight" this ego driven insanity? 1. Remove Planetary tags that currently displays the current guild that won that planet and replace it with the faction that won it. 2. Action those accounts/players/guilds that continues to disregard the TOS instead of punishing everyone. 3. Please don't touch any of the Conquest Objectives. 4. (have to throw this in here <g>) Create a neutral faction for Smugglers and BH's
  14. It seems most issues with the current CQ system are guild related and ego driven as other members suggested as well. What if the suggestion to remove planetary tags could be given serious consideration? Instead of having the guild names appear on planets, show them as conquered by the Rebellion or the Empire? That will give smaller and medium guilds a sense they are also contributing, and it will most definitely foster a greater sense of community between us all IMO. IOW I might be in a tiny little guild with friends, but we helped conquer Dantooine for the Rebellion..I mean Empire.
  15. Haha too funny! I remember having to watch entertainers for buffs. And I think you guys got tipped fairly well too? For the sake of the thread, yes a cross faction chat channel would be awesome.
  16. Since you mentioned another game, I will too. The predecessor to SWTOR was SWG (Star Wars Galaxies), and anyone that played that might remember the Smugglers? They were cross faction and a lot of fun to play. Being hunted by Bounty Hunters made it even more fun. I can remember thinking I was safe after delivering some smuggled goods, only to be killed by a lone Bounty Hunter! Betraying the Empire by stealing their weapons and selling them to the Rebellion and visa versa. That was true GCW!
  17. Really? You have multiple guilds in the real world? Wow. Maybe that right there, is the problem?
  18. You make valid points. There is another way to look at the guild situation though, and that is through the lens of specialization. I think a "Conquest" guild should always be regarded as very competitive with emphasis on Conquest driven goals, and as the name suggests, Conquer planets. Cutthroat and competitive. It would not be unreasonable to impose a minimum amount a member should contribute in these types of guilds. Whereas PVP guilds will have their emphasis on PVP and Raiding guilds on Raids and progs etc. These guilds can expect their members to be actively involved in their chosen specializations. IOW if you hate PVP do not join a PVP oriented guild. Similarly, if you do not like the competitive nature of Conquest guilds, stay away. Then there's those Guilds will do a bit of everything, and have no specific specialization. They can afford to be more laid back and perhaps concentrate more on the community itself, creating that near "perfect" environment most players will seek. This is THE most difficult type of guild to run and maintain though, so you probably wont find too many of them, but the few out there is definitely worth investing in. Even if it means you have to make a little extra effort to help the community of that guild in general. In return, you will have the benefit of a great community and be able to enjoy and take part in any content you wish with your friends. The trade off is you wont find the top raiders or top pvp'ers in those guilds. Choosing the right guild is actually really important to enjoy the game the way you want to enjoy it. And that is why I actually do like that grace period. It gives new players (and old ones) the opportunity to really experience a prospective guild without any pressure. But its just my opinion, and I am sure I miss the point somewhere.
  19. I am? I guess you are THE SUPREME LEADER that knows and sees all. Oh btw, regarding this title you give yourself and the way you talk: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_titles_used_by_dictators "Most commonly the title is a form of "leader" or "guide", such as "Supreme Leader". See dictatorship." Yes, my "arguing" is directed at you, the GM of a Spam Ninja invite guild, and everyone can see that in the screenshot that was posted. Then you have the audacity continue to whine about crafting and insisting that the devs WILL listen to you? Why is that? You broke the Rules of Conduct so many times, I don't even know where to start: 1. " Post, transmit, promote, or distribute Content that is illegal or promote or encourage any illegal activity including hacking, cracking or distribution of counterfeit software. (See also "Mod, Hack and Cheat Prohibitions" below)." You posted a detailed description of how to use an illegal macro bot for your whole guild to read and use. (Screenshots of messages can be sent. Provided by ex officers in your guild). 2. Harass, threaten, embarrass, or do anything to another player that is unwanted. This includes posting insulting, offensive, or abusive comments about players, repeatedly sending unwanted messages, Screenshots can be provided as well as voice files that were recorded during officer meetings. 3. “Trolling,” which we define as posts or threads that knowingly lead to overly strong, negative, and emotional responses for mere shock value, is not allowed on the Service. Accounts created with the sole intent to “troll” will be immediately and permanently suspended. Constant personal attacks are also considered trolling. (See also “Forum Guidelines” below.) You have been doing this since you started your guild with the help of your buddy K*** 4. "Improperly use in-game support or complaint buttons or make false reports to Service staff members, including the SWTOR CS." Self explanatory. You make assumptions, and then proceed to call that assumption a fact. 5. "Exploit any bug in the Service to gain unfair advantage in the game and/or communicate the existence of any such bug (either directly or through the public posting) to any other user of the Service." Again, screenshots and voice recordings can be provided as proof that you continue to provide your guild with information regarding "bugs" during meetings. You usually use the excuse that because another guild is using it and you are the good guy, its okay to discuss these bugs and check them out so that you can show them to the devs. Really hilarious, but /shrug. 6." Do anything that interferes with the ability of other Service users to enjoy playing Star Wars: The Old Republic and using the Service in accordance with its rules, or that materially increases the expense or difficulty of EA in maintaining the Service for the enjoyment of all its users." You are certainly taking away the enjoyment of the game for me and thousands of others with your actions. Again, proof can be provided. 7."Disrupt the flow of chat with vulgar language, abusiveness, hitting the return key repeatedly or inputting large images so the screen goes by too fast to read, use of excessive shouting [all caps] in an attempt to disturb other users, “spamming” or flooding [posting repetitive text]." How long have you whined about changing Conquest so YOU can win? 8. "Harassment consists of misuse and/or abuse of game mechanics and verbal harassment with the intention of distressing and offending other players" How many messages and harassments have you and your guildies sent to the #1 guild's GM now? How about all the spitting and nasty comments? Again, screenshots and proof can be provided. Publicly stating here that I am botting??? Seriously? 9." Do not hijack topics. Posting comments within a thread which severely disrupts the original conversation is prohibited." Why do you insist to whine about crafting in other threads when the thread is about guilds like yours that should be actioned for using and abusing new players? I need more popcorn before I continue.
  20. Disagree 100% Can you guys please stop with this witch hunt now? Trying to force players to enjoy the game the way you and your friends want to play it, is not a solution. If you think changing the crafting objective will help you get that #1 spot, you are mistaken and severely delusional. What will happen is what happened the last time they changed crafting. The game will lose a big chunk of devoted players once again. Just stop already!
