  1. First 15ish levels I mashed the spacebar, simply because I had seen it all in beta. After that, I paid attention to the story quite a bit. The only time I skip dialog now is if it's a side-story that doesn't interest me.
  2. I agree to an extent. But is it necessary for you to berate anyone who disagrees with your opinion? People are entitled to their own...
  3. My realm maintained a post on the forums of confirmed (via screenshot or video) ninjas and general d-bags. It was even stickied by a CM. It was also widely discussed in the general chat channels, and guild chat.
  4. It wasn't an argument...it was a statement of what actually happened in WoW. I did not say it was going to happen in SWTOR, nor did I use it as an argument against putting LFD into SWTOR. In fact, if you look at my previous posts, you'll see that I support LFD in SWTOR. I was simply stating that I can see why some people are worried. There are valid reasons. Also: Even same-server LFD gives you little control over who you group with. You could still be placed in a group with someone you don't like, or someone that you know stole loot from you, etc. Your choices would then be to leave and take whatever punishment is involved in that, or stick around and risk being subjected to whatever ******tery that person decide to pull.
  5. Or it could be that they are genuinely worried that it will have a negative impact on the game? For it's improvements LFD had a pretty large negative impact on the game -- That being the fact that ninjaing loot and being a general jerk in groups has no consequences. Before LFD if you did that stuff, you were pretty quickly ridiculed and had issues finding groups. The community policed itself. That's not the case anymore. LFD takes the self-policing ability away.
  6. Yes. I agree completely. I fully support an RDF tool that assists in the process of building a group, but not necessarily traveling to the dungeon. I also do not want it to be cross-server.
  7. For the record: I support a RDF tool, as long as it's not cross-server. With that said, you are wrong. In WoW the people camping in cities are the majority. Blizzard openly admits this and one of the goals they have set for MoP is to get people out of cities. The fact that that is even mentioned as a goal, tells me it's a problem. The last 2 characters that I leveled to cap in WoW quested to 15 (the level upon which you gain access to the RDF), and then stayed in the city all the way to 85. I think this is pretty common -- Granted it's by choice. But, so many people make this choice, that it's boring to be in the open world. You can do a "/who <insert any random non-city zone>" and get 5-10 people max. Even in the new Cataclysm zones. I will also admit that RDF is not the soul cause for this, but only a contributing factor in a fairly long list of flaws with the open world, right now.
  8. I haven't ran into this. :/ I post "LGF <insert quest/dungeon>" and generally get several responses and invites right away.
  9. I'll be quite honest -- I hope it doesn't overtake WoW. I hope it doesn't become mainstream. I do hope it stays profitable for Bioware so it doesn't go F2P and eventually closes down (which I really doubt will happen). That way, WoW will keep the majority of the immature kids that I can't stand.
  10. I haven't heard the same line twice, coming out of my character's mouth -- Level 30 Sith Warrior, and level 16 Bounty Hunter.
  11. The Star Wars IP is much more limited than Warcraft. Lucas has VERY strict guidelines and things have to be made exactly to their specifications to maintain the Star Wars license. Bioware can write a story, but if Lucas doesn't approve it, it's not getting in. On the other hand. Blizzard can say "oh hey, we're adding manbearpigs from space who fire chickens from their fingertips" and nobody can stop them. Also -- Of course this game will eventually grow bigger than WoW. It has a large enough following, and came into existence 7 years after WoW's release. This on it's own tells me that WoW will die of natural causes before SWTOR goes under. In 2-3 years when Titan is coming about, that will be the true test of SWTOR (and most likely the end of WoW). For the record, I cancelled my WoW account for SWTOR and plan on staying here for a long time to come.
  12. Longest queue I've seen (not been in....I've seen it listed on the server list) is 1.5 hours. You can't really lie about publicly available information. I hope you realize that. Kinda like pointing at a red car and insisting to everyone around that it's black.
  13. Ya. A lot of people who are "less experience" in healthy body mass, tend to forget that muscle mass is far heavier than fat. They assume that since their gut is the size of that dude's chest, that he must weigh a similar amount as them. A guy that size IRL would be very heavy. (And actually those exact proportions would be difficult, if not impossible to obtain for a real person...his waist is crazy tiny compared to his shoulders. That's very hard to do. You can definitely get the V taper, but this model is a bit extreme. ) I'm personally 6'6" and around 240lbs, and those guys make me look pretty small in the shoulder/chest region.
  14. Yes. The story is written before hand...so it's "foretold." The same can be said for any MMO...or game really. I'm unaware of any game in which the writers custom tailor the story specifically to each player. That being said, you are able to change the story more than any MMO I've ever played, just based on the decision you make.
  15. Yes, it would be very fun, for sure. It would be slightly unbalancing for the game though. I would be sitting at work all day sending my companions on missions and people without smart phones wouldn't be able to do so.
  16. The instancing is something they are going to move away from eventually. Pretty sure I've seen this stated multiple times. It's only there until they get load balancing under control.
  17. There's a difference between asking for people to be "well behaved" and asking for people to stop with the racist and otherwise offensive comments.
  18. Nope. But I was taken by surprise by the fact that for at least 2 hours straight, there was never a point where there wasn't a racial slur or religious innuendo visible in the chat panel.
  19. This is sorta the problem though. People are willing to just accept that type of behavior as the "MMO community," and the more sane and mature of us have to suffer through it. It's unfortunate.
  20. If your right click on the general tab, and go to Chat Options, you can check/uncheck channels in there.
  21. It's turning into WoW trade chat. Last night in general chat, I noticed that it was packed with racial slurs and general idiocy. Granted, I reported those. But after awhile, instead of taking time out of my gameplay to submit tickets, I just left general chat. It honestly feels like the community is already going bad in this game.
  22. There hasn't even been an official announcement if or when there will be mods in-game. So, nobody can even start development on them yet.
  23. I had a Grand Marshal at level 60 in WoW. I also had a Gladiator in S1 arena....Just because I dislike people who talk down to others, doesn't mean I've never PvP'd or that I suck at it. People like you quickly ruin a community. Go away.
