  1. I think maybe they did that because PT/VG's have quite a few more ranged attacks and options than force using melee DPS classes do. Even early on they have more ranged options of those other specs at the same level, if I'm remembering from my Brother's Vanguard correctly. They also have a 30' range basic attack. I seem to recall the term "mid-ranged' being used as an impromptu description for PT/VG years ago, although that term wasn't level specific, it was more just used in a generality sense. They may have lost some of those ranged abilities since than with class changes and such.
  2. Perhaps I shouldn't have put it so blanket as to imply it's all NY schools. I grew up and live downstate, in Metro NY, some of the schools there (at least when I went to them) are a bit run down, and understaffed with a higher student to teacher ratio and they tended to sometimes let things and students slip through the cracks, so to speak. But, to be fair, considering the insane amount that I cut class (played hookie), some of the blame most certainly lays on my shoulders. I was a bit of trouble maker back than and in addition to my cutting class a lot I also got suspended quite a bit. So if I did something wrong, they'd give me a 1 or 2 day suspension.Which I always found a bit humorous back than because they were punishing my breaking the rules by giving me some more days off from school heh. A bit older and a bit wiser now, I realize you get from it what you put into it, and I didn't put much into it when I was a teenager.
  3. I always get a little confused when it comes to which your/you're and to/too and there/their/they're to use. I have the grammar of a 4th grader. And my spelling, sometimes I misspell a word so bad that even spell check can't even offer a suggestion as to what word I was trying to spell. It was so bad that when I was a Patrol Officer and I had to submit a incident report, the desk officer who took those submissions, whom I was friendly with, would take it upon herself to go over the incident report for me first and have me make any necessary corrections before she would put it on file. heh NY public schools FTW.
  4. That was very well (and beautifully) written. And while that is all good advice and ideal, sometimes people just can't get along. Naturally, he'll place the blame on me, and I'll place it on him, and when tempers flair impartiality can be difficult. I think the best thing to do in this case, and in an effort that there be no repeats or further disagreements and derailing of strings the best thing to do is to place him on ignore. This way I can't see anything from him and he can't respond to me in future posts and have each of us go our own way. I don't have any problem interacting with people with different opinions, that's kinda what the forums are all about, people giving their opinions on things, so naturally there will be differences of opinion and that's fine. But sometimes it gets personal and people do and say things maybe they shouldn't in anger. My attitude to him was never because we had a difference of opinion, it was because of our past and because he lied. Differences of opinion are fine, but lying, cherry picking and insulting aren't. The post that you responded to initially, that was because he lied, and I demonstrated that he lied with original source that proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt. That's where my ire came from in my response post to him, not because we disagreed. People can debate things, and debating is kinda inherently a bit adversarial and so that comes with the territory. I take the responsibility in this case because I should have known better than to engage with him again given our history. I should have known it would likely devolve into another angry interaction. So that's my bad. While your advice is all sound, very well intended, and a good way to think, act, and interact with others, sometimes two people are like oil and vinegar, and they're just not going to be able to be civil with one another when their past disposes them to negative feelings about each other. When that's the case, the only way you can really deal with that is by stopping the interactions. Which I think, in this case, is for the best. Lastly, I really hope if they ever do make a melee tech using class/combat style, they go with your idea. It totally works. When Bo-Katan uses her energy shield, it looks wicked. That'd be a great visual to add to the game.
  5. Ahh okay. I've watched my brother play his character a few times and for some reason I thought it was a vibro knife attack. Perhaps because that's how he refers to it. From what I recall seeing, it did kinda look like a vibro-knife, but perhaps I'm just misremembering, it's been a while since I've watched him playing. But if you say it isn't, than I know it definitely isn't. 😉
  6. When I said it was surprising how much people ask for it, I meant it in the sense that while they keep asking for it, Bioware never did anything with the suggestion over the years and I figured peeps would give up after so long because Bioware clearly doesn't care what the players ask for. Maybe now that Broadsword is charge of development, maybe they'll do something with the concept.
  7. Well that,s just it, it wasn't the same universe according to Lucas. But listen, that was a disagreement between me and him. We have history, and previously he was very toxic to me. I stupidly thought we could speak on another subject, which was my bad, I shouldn't have even initially responded to him at all, given our history. He's also lied. If you wanna think I'm totally at fault and toxic, well, you're entitled to your opinion. But, I'm not going to perpetuate the disagreement and have it spread to others. That was between me and him and I don't want to derail the string anymore than it already has. Regarding the concept, and the Mandaolorian thingy, yes, they absolutely use vibro-weapons (but the Dark Saber isn't one of them, that's not a vibro weapon, thats a unique lightsaber that George Lucas created in The Clone Wars series) and I believe I did mention that. Even in the game already, we have a few classes that do use some vibro weapon attacks. It's not their main hand weapon, but they do use them sometimes. Vangaurd and Operative come to mind. My point wasn't that they can't use any other weapons, it's just that what we don't see is them only using a melee weapon to the exclusion of all other weapons. That's also one of the problems of the game. The classes are really designed in such a way, that for the most part, they're just using one type of weapon. There are some exceptions as noted above, but they aren't actually equipping those weapons, there more so just visual effects. It's kinda silly that the classes dictate a specific weapon and don't give the players a bit more of a choice. For example, a Trooper. They should be able to use more than just a Auto-canon or a Blaster Rifle. Their soldiers, and soldiers get trained to use multiple weapons. But, I digress. The idea of a melee tech based class or combat style, I have no objection to that and I stated I didn't. I was just giving my opinion that I personally think it's a little bit of a stretch and so I think if they're gonna do that, they should consider coming with something about them that kinda makes it seem a bit more reasonable and make some sense. Whether that be some sort of unusual background element, something force related, or zen monk like, I think the idea would sell better and be better received. But, at the end of the day, while that's my opinion, my opinion is irrelevant in the scope of things. They can do or create whatever the want and they certainly aren't going to pass it by me or anyone else. They can choose to explain nothing, or not come up with some kinda of background that makes it seem a little bit more realistic, they could just say "this class can use swords and fight people with blasters and Lightsabers with no problem". If that's how they want to do it, than they can do it that way. Although, what you mentioned about the tech shields we see in the Mandalorian, like Bo-katan uses, I forgot about that and that actually works. That would make the concept make more sense in the context of a melee tech user fighting people with blasters and lightsabers. That does make the idea seem more reasonable. That totally works. I think that's a very good idea, it fits in with the genre and there are existing examples of it already. That's actually the best idea for a melee tech user that I've heard so far.
  8. You're English is perfect. And yeah, I agree, that is really annoying.
  9. She really did. Scorpio is one of my favorite companions. I LOVE her voice. It's so silky smooth and a bit seductive sounding. It reminds me a lot of the Borg Queen from Star Trek. Not only that, but she looks fantastic. Scorpio was done excellently in my opinion. Her story line in the Eternal whateverthehell expansions was one of the few parts of it I really enjoyed and I think they did an outstanding job with Scorpio through out it all. I was a little disappointed that they made her turn on the character, because I loved her so much, but it did make for excellent drama and a good story line with her. I never played the Agent story line which I believe is where she originally comes from so I don't know if she was the same in it as she is in The Eternal stuff. Love , love, love Scoprio.
  10. You know what I find so interesting, two things actually? Number one and more importantly. That quote is from 1997. That was the originally publishing of the Foreward. What you're trying to do here is make it out like that was first said at the later date by using a reprinting of it from 2010. Your quote isn't from after the quotes from Lucas I shared , it's from way the hell before [save for one, which was the same year as that quote, but even still was said after.]. Nice try liar. Here's a picture from the original printing of that quote from 1997. https://www.reddit.com/r/saltierthancrait/comments/yzrzwu/the_introduction_to_splinter_of_the_minds_eye/ The following link is to TheForce.net message board where people are talking about that quote in 2002. So the quotes I used are also, save for one, from after the date of this message board talked about it, and thus is further proof that you lied about the date of the quote you cherry picked from (see point #2) from, unless of course you wanna make an argument that those people on that message board talking about that quote in 2002 were time travelers. The quote is directly sited on this website with the part you left off on March 2nd, 2002. https://boards.theforce.net/threads/the-splinter-of-the-minds-eye-foreward-by-george-lucas-can-someone-post-it.6516428/ So by your very own logic, because my quotes [save for one] were said long after the quote you cherry picked from, they supersede that quote anyways. Number 2 - You left out the rest of the quote. Allow me. “After Star Wars was released, it became apparent that my story—however many films it took to tell—was only one of thousands that could be told about the characters who inhabit its galaxy. But these were not stories I was destined to tell. Instead they would spring from the imagination of other writers, inspired by the glimpse of a galaxy that Star Wars provided. Today it is an amazing, if unexpected, legacy of Star Wars that so many gifted writers are contributing new stories to the Saga.” It continues: This Legacy began with Splinter of the Mind's Eye, published less than a year after the release of Star Wars. Written by Alan Dean Foster, a well known and talented science-fiction author, Splinter was promoted as a "further adventure" of Luke Skywalker. It hit the bookstores just as I was preparing to write my own "further adventure" of Luke, in the form of a script entitled The Empire Strikes back. It seems only fitting, after all these years, that Splinter would be republished * as I prepare once again to write another further adventure set a long time ago, in all galaxy far, far away." https://ibb.co/G08bq1P * When he says "as I prepare once again to write another further adventure set a long time ago", he is referring to the Prequels. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace was released in 1999. You debunked yourself with your own quote source. And you left that last part out because you knew that completely destroys the narrative you were trying paint. So, by lying about the date of that quote and leaving off the rest of it, that renders your quote meaningless and totally debunks you and your bs narrative. There's only one reason people lie. And it doesn't even matter what the subject matter is, it's still always for the same reason, and that reason is, because they know the truth. But, for your lying, and cherry picking, here's a few more nails in the coffin, just for fun. Here's what Alan Dean Foster, that author of that book, had to say on the legitimacy of the very book you're using that quote in part from. "But of course, this theoretical timeline ends in 1977. Star Wars grossed $307 million that year and toys flew off the shelves, cementing it not just as a film juggernaut, but as an encompassing empire with rabid fans waiting for more. Lucas simply didn't need to have a low-budget sequel when he could instead realize the story he'd been plotting out in his head. “It was fairly obvious that George was going on a story arc that he had developed and that he was continuing to develop and that developing film projects from spinoff properties was not necessary for him, which was fine,” Foster says. “I understood that going in. I mean, that was the idea going in. It's always nice to have a backup, but you don't always have to use your backup.” ~ Alan Dean Foster, EU Author of 'Splinter of the Mind's Eye', SYFY Wire Interview, 'The First Star Wars sequel: Inside the writing of Splinter of the Mind's Eye', 2018 https://ibb.co/C84MKqD ... The following quote is from Lucas from 2019, is particularly interesting as it indirectly speaks to what Lucas thought about some things that are directly part of some of the story lines and history presented in this game that also demolish your false narrative. "George Lucas says there has never been any war between the Jedi and the Sith in his Star Wars Canon" - An excerpt from StarWars.com‘s oral history of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace: "Everybody said, “Oh, well, there was a war between the Jedi and the Sith.” Well, that never happened. That’s just made up by fans or somebody. What really happened is, the Sith ruled the universe for a while, 2000 years ago. Each Sith has an apprentice, but the problem was, each Sith Lord got to be powerful. And the Sith Lords would try to kill each other because they all wanted to be the most powerful. So in the end they killed each other off, and there wasn’t anything left. "But anyway, there’s a whole matrix of backstory that has never really come out. It’s really just history that I gathered up along the way. It’s all based on backstories that I’d written setting up what the Jedi were, setting up what the Sith were, setting up what the Empire was, setting up what the Republic was, and how it all fit together I never really got a chance to explain the Whills part." ~ George Lucas, 2019 George Lucas’ vision of the galaxy’s ancient times is clearly different from the Expanded Universe. Many wars between Jedi and Sith in the Old Republic era were told in games, books and comics. The current Lucasfilm’s canon didn’t explore this era yet.' https://naboonews.wordpress.com/2019/05/25/george-lucas-says-there-has-never-been-any-war-between-the-jedi-and-the-sith-in-his-canon/ .. Demolished. .. Some Quotes from EU authors themselves when talking about the Official legitimacy of their works when Lucas owned Star Wars. ... 'In 2014, Disney declared the Expanded Universe was no longer canon. It became ‘Legends’. What do you think of this, seeing all of your work suddenly become non-canon?' “Those of us writing the EU were always told, all along, from the very beginning (have I stressed that strongly enough?), “Only the Movies are Canon.” Sure, it was disappointing.” ~ Kathy Tyers, EU author [Truce at Bakura, Balance Point] Interview, 2018 http://starwarsinterviews.com/various/authors/kathy-tyers-author/ ... Podcast Interview with Steve Perry, Author of Shadows of the Empire from the Expanded Universe - Interviewer - 'So what are your thoughts about your book and all the ones that came other than this last year are no longer part of the Official Star Wars Canon ever since Disney took over? Steve Perry - "Ohh they never were! Nothing was ever canon other than the movies." The Ritual Misery Podcast with hosts Amos and Kent, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2569&v=opbMcVJolSA&feature=emb_logo .. Than there's Dave Filoni, Lucas's number 2, Lucas's protege and his sucessor of whom he said he thinks of him as a son, who worked side by side with him for 7 years. This is from 2017. "There's this notion that everything changed when everything became Legends. And I can see why people think that. But, you know, having worked with George I can tell you that it was always very clear -- and he made it very clear -- that the films and the TV shows were the only things that he considered Canon. That was it." Dave Filoni interview on 'The Star Wars show' [41.40 mark]- https://youtu.be/hcNXPNXOv2A?t=2500 ... And than there is the announcement from Lucasfilm, whom Lucas was the President of. Here's what Lucasfilm itself said. "While Lucasfilm always strived to keep the stories created for the EU consistent with our film and television content as well as internally consistent, Lucas always made it clear that he was not beholden to the EU. He set the films he created as the canon. This includes the six Star Wars episodes, and the many hours of content he developed and produced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. These stories are the immovable objects of Star Wars history, the characters and events to which all other tales must align." ~ Lucasfilm, 2014 https://www.starwars.com/news/the-legendary-star-wars-expanded-universe-turns-a-new-page ... And for the Coup de gras 'There's a lot of debate about the fact whether the Expanded Universe was canon or not. Since you were the Director of Publishing I hope you can give the final answer to that question.' "Our Expanded Universe books and comics were never intended to be canon. Only what George wrote was canon. We tried to keep the internal consistency so out writers did not contradict anything George had created or anything any of our other writers had added." Lucy Audrey Wilson,Director of Publishing under Lucas, Star Wars Interviews, 2022 ... None of this, and I mean none of this, is in any way, shape, or form speaking to the creative value of all those works the EU authors and game creators put so much time and devotion into. The creative value of them is totally subjective, and it up to the individual themselves to form their own opinions on those works. And people are free to head-canon whatever they want. I read many of those books and comics, I played those games, and this game is one of them. You and me are done talking on any subject what so ever ever again. You're just another EU purist, cherry picking Liar.
  11. Lucas said about a 100 times that the EU took place in a 'parallel Star Wars universe'. This has been confirmed by every major name in Star Wars. I'm only responding to this subject one time. This won't be a repeat of the last time we discussed something. (Sorry Steve. You know me so well. 😉) .. "I don't read that stuff, I haven't read any of the novels. I don't know anything about that world. That's a different world than my world. But I do try and keep it consistent. The way I do it is they have a Star Wars encyclopedia. So if I come up with a name or something else, I look it and see if it has already been used. When I said other people could make their own Star Wars stories, we decided that, like Star Trek, we would have TWO universes: My Universe and than this other one. They try to make THEIR universe as consistent with mine as possible, but obviously they get enthusiastic and want to go off in other directions." ~ George Lucas Starlog Magazine Interview, 2005 https://ibb.co/Km1CcNs .. “There are two worlds here,” explained Lucas. “There’s my world, which is the movies, and there’s this other world that has been created, which I say is the parallel universe – the licensing world of the books, games and comic books." ~ George Lucas Interview, Cinescape Magazine, 2002 .. "Q: What do you think of the expanded universe of books? A: The books are in a different universe. I've not read any of them, and I told them when they started writing I wouldn't read any of them and I blocked out certain periods." ~ George Lucas - "The Furry Conflict and the Great ‘Beard‘ of the Galaxy" (report based on a Q&A session with George Lucas which occurred at USC on 11-19-03) .. "The question selected from The Furry Conflict poll was: How much does the Expanded Universe influence the movies? As I asked him, Lucas leaned back a moment and said to me “Very little.” When he first had agreed to let people write Expanded Universe books, he had said “I’m not gonna read ‘em” and it was a “different universe” that he wanted to keep away from the time period of his saga. He jokingly complained, however, that now when he writes a script he has to look through an encyclopedia to make sure that a name he comes up with doesn’t come too close to something in the EU." - "Marc Xavier", November 2003, "The Furry Conflict and the Great ‘Beard‘ of the Galaxy" (report based on a Q&A session with George Lucas which occurred at USC on 11-19-03) .. "TVGuide: Yet novelists have written "Star Wars" sequels using the same characters and extending their stories. "Oh, sure. They're done outside my little universe." ~ George Lucas, Flannelled One, November 2001 - TV Guide interview .. "Q: Do you supervise the development of all the off-movie stories? After all, Star Wars exists in books, comics. A: "You know, I try not to think about that. I have my own world in movies and I follow it." ~ George Lucas, Flannelled One, July 2002 - From a The Force.Net .. 'The Star Wars Universe has expanded beyond the movies. How much leeway do the game makers and novel writers have?' "They have their own kind of world. There are three pillars of Star Wars. I'll probably get in trouble for this, but it's ok! There's three pillars: the father, the son, and the holy ghost. I'm the Father, Howard Roffman [President of Lucas Licensing] is the son and the holy ghost is the fans, this kind of ethereal world of people coming up with all kinds of different ideas and histories. Now these three pillars don't always match, but the movies and TV shows are all under my control and are consistent within themselves. Howard tries to be consistent but sometimes he does off on tangents and it's hard to hold him back. He once said to me that there are two Star Trek Universes: the TV show and than there's all the spin offs. He said they were completely different and didn't have anything to do with each other. So I said "Ok, go ahead". ~ George Lucas, TF Magazine Interview, 2008 https://ibb.co/RN9JKJQ .. "I get asked all the time, 'What happens after "Return of the Jedi"?,' and there really is no answer for that," he said. "The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that's where that story ends."" ~ George Lucas, Flannelled One, May 2008, "George Lucas: 'Star Wars' won't go beyond Darth Vader", interview with Los Angeles Times Star Wars Insider 108, 2009 Full Page - https://ibb.co/7tBy5VK .. "And now there have been novels about the events after Episode VI, which isn't at all what I would have done with it. The Star Wars story is really the tragedy of Darth Vader. That is the story. Once Vader dies, he doesn't come back to life, the Emperor doesn't get cloned and Luke doesn't get married." ~ George Lucas,Total Film Magazine Interview, 2008 https://ibb.co/x5q1RrQ .. "But of course, this theoretical timeline ends in 1977. "What we're trying to do these days is have an immense collaboration at Lucasfilm. One of the things, I think, as we go forward that we really, really want to have, so that as fans, that you can really be certain that when things happen across different Star Wars IPs, ya know from comic books, to novels, to video games to new movies to TV or whatever, that it's all part of the same universe. And that's not been something that I think we really had prior to now. I mean, it's always been like this is George's universe - what he's doing with the movies and his TV shows, and than there was what everyone else was doing and it's too much too keep control of. And I know, I know more than anyone else how much consternation that has caused fans, because they're like but 'I love this character and I love this character'. And, I think what we're trying to do now is to try and find a way to make everything to wotk more cohesively, so LucasArts is part of Lucasfilm as is Lucas animation and I'm very proud to say that there was collaboration with those guys because we were going to the same place." [Referring to [1313 - Directly from George Lucas]. Dave Filoni, Episode XII: The Clone Wars Season 5 Finale Special, 2013 [Time stamp - [1:06 - 1:07] - http://fullofsith.com/archives/396 .. "There is no more clear illustration of the difference between the Expanded Universe and the Star Wars created by George Lucas. The EU is a well of ideas, and there's what's on screen. They don't live in the same universe. Everyone wants to think so, I know,... and there is alot of effort to make it all work, but it's pretty clear when you start really looking at it that when you take ideas from the printed realm and bring it to screen, it's not the same. They relate. There are similarities. I still enjoy alot of those stories. I think there are a lot of great ideas. They influence you. They inspire you, which I think is the whole point of having an EU. We try to honor things when we can, to give nods to things, but at the end of the day there is a difference between what you see in the Star Wars films and TV series and what you see in those books. [..] We just need to think of it all as a creative collection of fun ideas separate from what George Lucas has made." ~ Dave Filoni, Star Wars Insider # 134, July, 2012 https://ibb.co/BL1y11V .. "And I think it really clearly illustrates the difference between the EU material and what makes it up on the screen as George wants it. Which is that in the end, the comic books are a great place for ideas and creativity by many, many really talented artists and writers. But when George is gonna bring it into his universe, a lot of times it's going to need tweaks." ~ Dave Filoni, IGN Interview, March, 2012 https://ibb.co/bBks5jP .. "That was one of my mandates, when I began the spin off publishing program it was a sacrosanct rule that everything had to relate to each other, be consistent with each other and be consistent with the movies, 'which were canon.' We were pretty religious about doing that, our biggest problem was a guy named George Lucas, because he didn't buy into the spin off fiction and the game program and all the 'alternate universe' we were creating." We wanted it to be one universe, we felt strongly that that's what it needed to be, but George as the filmmaker didn't want to be beholden to somebody else's creative vision. 'Messing with a Classic' — Howard Roffman, President of Lucas Licensing under Lucas, in charge of the EU, Lucasfilm, TV interview, 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMKHgwH-gY4 - [12:40 mark] .. "We're trying to be true to the characters and true to the situations and not do anything that would interfere with future stories that George himself wants to tell. And what goes in the blank timeline spaces of the Film Only universe - can we never know the history or background of that Star Wars universe like we can in the EU Star Wars universe? "Nothing. That's why it's film only." ~ Leland Chee, Continuity Database Administrator for Lucas Licensing,StarWars.com, Jan. 2nd 2007 .. '[Leland] Chee did [said that]. Roffman [Howard Roffman, President of Lucas Licensing] made some references to it being one universe even after 2008.' Pablo Hidalgo - Licensing probably thought so because they'd keep retconning stuff to fit. George Lucas certainly didn't think so. ~ Pablo Hidalgo, 2016 https://ibb.co/bbf0Gfy .. "As far as continuity, I see The Clone Wars as being no different than the arrival of the prequels in 1999. We fans knew that those movies would be a representation of the true Star Wars universe as imagined by George Lucas, and in some cases, it would not perfectly match the stories told by Expanded Universe authors. So, we had to unlearn all we had learned about the Mon Calamari being discovered by the Empire, about Boba Fett being Jaster Mereel, and about the Republic having a standing military. 'This will only stop, when the original Lucas treatment of EP7 is published?' "Well, Chewie was in it, and Jacen and Jaina weren’t. So there’s that.” 'What do you mean? He said his version starred the children of the heroes. Really that different or just different kids?' "Jacen and Jaina never existed in George’s storytelling, even in treatment form.” 'And about Mara Jade?' "No. George never thought of Mara as being part of his universe either.” ~ Pablo Hidalgo Tweet [Archived] (May 10, 2016) https://ibb.co/mHJYSZX [QUOTES] Hidalgo’s Answers To Questions/https://swinfoground.wordpress.com .. "There was no Ben Skywalker in George's Universe. He came from the NJO team." ~ Pablo Hidalgo 2016 https://ibb.co/HDtXh6D .. "Question from Today, but I thought this was pretty well known. George Lucas never considered Jacen, Jaina, or Mara Jade as part of his universe." ~ Pablo Hidalgo, 2016 https://ibb.co/VDX2qvY .. "At the time George was writing a live action series, but I think that he, even though he contributed to Force Unleashed, I think he sort of considered it an alternate universe." ~ Sam Witwer, voice actor/model of Starkiller - voice actor for Darth Maul, 2022 https://www.youtube.com/shorts/PL9JFPgyOJM .. "Steven Sansweet was asked specifically if any of the characters like Admiral Thrawn and so on would make appearances in AoTC or the movie thereafter, and he responded quite clearly that *all the EU material is ”taking place in a separate universe”.... there were quite a few nasty mumbles from the audience when he (Sansweet) said what he said." Steven Sansweet, EU Author - Director of Content Management and Head of Fan Relations at Lucasfilm, Comic-Con, 2001 .. "That said, I think George has always felt that the comics were an “alternate Star Wars universe” from the films. I don’t think he ever saw the comics as canon — although he did use them as a resource for ideas and images." Tom Veitch Interview, EU Author, Dark Empire Trilogy 2016 https://ibb.co/CKXHGby .. "To George, only the few productions he personally oversaw were part of the 'Official' Star Wars universe: the six live action films and the TV series The Clone Wars. Everything else from Lucas Licensing's EU happened in a 'parallel universe' seperate from Lucas's own film continuity. Lucas freely gleaned bits of the EU in subsequent films - he owned everything, after all--but disregarded or contradicted much of the existing history. Lucas explained his personal concept of continuity in 2002: “There are two worlds here,” explained Lucas. “There’s my world, which is the movies, and there’s this other world that has been created, which I say is the parallel universe – the licensing world of the books, games and comic books." DVD, Blu-ray and Beyond: Navigating Formats and Platforms within Media Consumption, 2017 by Jonathan Wroot and Andy Willis .. "George knows more about Star Wars than we do. He doesn't see the Expanded Universe as ”his” Star Wars, but as ”ours.” I think this has been mentioned previously, maybe in other places, but it's not new info, as far as I remember." ~ Sue Rostoni, Lucas Licensing (LLP Managing Editor), StarWars.com, 2004 https://ibb.co/m6CFDrh .. "As the Star Wars line of books expanded, so did Wilson's staff, who are devoted solely to the quaility of books. She now works closely with four editors, each dedicated to a certain portion of the Star Wars publishing universe." ~ Star Wars Insider 59, June 2002 In reference to Sue Rostoni and Lucy Wilson of Lucas Licensing https://ibb.co/fHJ6wXv
  12. Yeah, it's annoying as hell to just have to sit there and click on the item hundreds of times. I usually buy all the different things I need at the same time, so when it comes time to restock, I end up having to sit there and clicking 100's of times on each of the 4 or 5 things I need to restock. Everytime I have to do it I always think to myself, there's gotta be a better way. Thanks for the tip Who-man, I didn't know you could do that. That'll be a big help.
  13. Ahh, okay, that's from Legends. As we already covered previously, as that stuff wasn't canon, for me I really can't consider that "traditional" Mandalorian stuff. But this game is Legends so I guess you can say in this parallel universe that stuff is traditional in it. I gotta say though, I do dig his Spear and Axe, they are really cool weapons.
  14. I'm not against the idea in theory, just think that if they were to do it it would be good to give it some thought and give it some reasonable foundation. It's all make believe anyways, I'm sure they could come up with something. I wasn't able to see your pictures, there's a problem with those links.
  15. The only melee weapon we really see Mandalorians using with any regularity in the canon of the movies and the TV series (Lucas's Clone wars series, and the Mandalorian) is the Dark Saber and the Dark Saber isn't a vibro weapon, it's a unique Lightsaber. So It's not really clear what you mean by "traditional Mandalorian weapons". There are many people who have requested a melee weapon using tech class or a combat style, and honestly I'm surprised how often this comes up. I think that perhaps it's not something they've ever said they were considering because it's a bit problematic in the sense that it's difficult to imagine how someone who isn't a Force user using a Lightsaber would be able to do combat with enemies using blasters and ranged weapons with just a melee weapon. When people bring knives to gun fights the results tend to be rather consistent. The concept really needs some serious thought so as to come with some basis so as to give players what they want (tech melee user) and so it has some reasonable explanation that makes it seem plausible. That's why I liked Old Buzzard's suggestion, it made the concept make more sense.
  16. I've had that happen to me a few times. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen. I've never been able to figure out why. Just one of those things. I never said anything about the frequency of when it happens, I only said I don't agree with it and it shouldn't be a thing, 4 man premades is enough. But I don't quite get your meaning about large/smaller groups. The premade thing isn't about when one team has more players than another. If you are referring to the size of the premade, my objection is only with groups of premades with 5 or more players as members of the premade. You're kinda building a straw-man argument here. You are injecting into your argument against my stance, things that are not a part of my argument/.stance. - Frequency and size was never a part of my argument. Okay, fair enough. 🫠 That might give the impression that there are less players around if you're just using those numbers and quece times of players in PVP. But just because some people might have stopped pvping because of it (and thus effected the quece times due to less people pvping), that doesn't necessarily mean they're not playing other content in the game. It might very well be true in some cases, but there are also other people, like myself, who like Raiding and PVP. PVP didn't make me quit the game, it just effected my interest in PVP and moved me to take a break from it. For some others story might also be something they're interested in doing as well as PVP. Lot's of alt-aholics out there. One of the things they taught us in Criminal Investigation ( I was a Patrol Officer for 6 years) is that not all evidence is proof. It's just evidence that supports a theory about what you think may have happened or seemed to have happened. And following that logic is why when they tell Jurors how to come to a decision of guilty or not guilty, you don't need to be 100% certain, the standard rather is 'beyond a reasonable doubt'. And so the argument that less people in the PVP quece because of premades means they necessarily left the game enitirely, that falls into 'the reasonable doubt' area as I see it. What constitutes 'reasonable', that can be a bit subjective at times. Depends on who you ask. Our talks are a very good example of that.
  17. How's your arm doing? You don't say... You're quite the narcissist. I don't care what you do or who or who you don't do it with. Maybe that's true, or maybe it isn't. Doesn't change my stance. Wow. A whole whopping 5 hours. I have no idea why you bothered to show me this. And ummm, who's Cheese? Dead link. I have no idea if anything you say is or isn't true. Calling you a liar wasn't what I was doing, what I was saying was, you just saying some stuff doesn't necessarily make it true. Maybe you are telling the truth, maybe you aren't, but given the tenor of our dealings with each other, not much reason to simply take your word for it, or have my opinion altered because of some dude on the internet I'm arguing with some said I'm wrong. I'm not trying to change your mind about 5+ premades. Your okay with it, than your okay with it. But you regaling however much experience you may or may not have, or what that consists of, isn't going to change my mind. I think we're kinda done with this subject, no? This is supposed to be about servers, I fail to see how any of this has anything to do with free server transfers or whether or not servers should or shouldn't be merged.
  18. Probably 80-85% of the people that play this game are casuals, who do story and play solo. Endgame content is not what keeps this game alive, if it was, they wouldn't wait years in between introducing new Operations. And just for the record, I'm solely an end game player. Merging servers when it isn't necessary would be incredibly stupid.
  19. The only thing I've seen on this site that's different, is that when the Dev's post it has the Broadsword symbol under their names. I haven't even bothered to look at the Broadsword website because, like you said, it's a fairly new state of affairs and I as well didn't have any expectation there would be an update on it just yet.
  20. I am fully aware of that, and I was speaking generally. You're not getting it, my thoughts on 5+ Premades vs solo quecers has nothing to do with any time frame, it is a general stance. I'm against it, period. I see people on the forums talking about it all the time. And your claims about having superior knowledge or your skills are meaningless to me. I don't care what you think, I care what I think. If you wanna think that everyone who complains about it are casuals, don't play a lot, or are just bad, go right the hell ahead. I don't care what you think. +5 Premades vs solos is BS. So if people don't believe what you say, that somehow reflects that their position on 5+ Premades is objectively wrong. Yeah, that's not how that works. Mind you, and I've made this abundantly clear, I'm not talking just about premades, I'm talking about premades that have 5 to 8 people all in the premade. They wanna do it like they use to, max 4, okay fine. I'm only talking about premades that have 5 to 8 people. If you don't like that I, and many others are against that, your spitting into the wind, I don't care what you think. And, one more thing, you citing numbers and all your experience, are not evidence of anything. That's just you saying some stuff. If you think people should just assume everything you say is correct or are objective facts, than you haven't been paying attention to how the forums work. Chances are your entire reasoning for trying to defend it is because you do it. That's what the reason is for most people that try and defend it. They like their little advantages over people. Makes them feel better about themselves. You're fine with it, you think they should keep it that way, duly noted. You're entitled to your opinion and it's perfectly within the rules of the game. I think it's BS. That's my opinion. And dude, you talk about all your experience, you joined this game in 2022. It's 2023. I've been playing this game for over 10 years, and there are tons of people talking about these issues, who have been playing even longer than I have, and Trixxie is one of them. So if you wanna retort to that by saying "Well I had a different account than this one and something happened to it..." yada yada yada, go for it, maybe someone will believe you.
  21. There's been no update on this Website either, it still says Bioware at the bottom of the page. Quite honestly, whether there is a formal announcement or not or they put stuff on a website or not, the deal is done. If peeps wanna think everything they say is a lie, that's their prerogative. Personally, I get my fill of that line of reasoning from Flat Earthers.
  22. Yeah, I've been playing the game over 10 years now and while I've seen the name Darth Jadus used on the forums, I don't have a clue who he is. If they had used him as the big bad instead of Malgus, when he showed up, my character, who is a Sith Lord, woulda been like, "Who the hell are you and why on Earth would I be afraid of you? I've never even heard of you." I'm no fan of Malgus. I wanna take his head something fierce. At this point he's just plain annoying. I have no idea why we are keeping him alive at all. Dark Lords of The Sith aren't exactly the most forgiving of people and he's of no use to us anyways. I'm looking forward to introducing Malgus to Darth Baras very soon.
  23. Well they did say in one of their posts that there would be ongoing improvements to game system (like the move to 64 bit). They didn't give any specifics to that of course, but who knows, maybe the engine is something they might address. Than again, maybe not. Whether or not they actually follow through with certain things they've said, well, that remains to be seen. And again, it isn't just the same old people, some of them are the same, but there are also going to be totally new people working on the game from Broadsword as well. Bioware isn't in charge of game development anymore, the managers over at Broadsword now are, and they're new people. We'll just have to wait and see whether or not they want to develop a new vision for the game. Waiting and seeing is really all we can do, but it's good at least it's now official and the beginning of Broadsword's sway is now at hand.
  24. I agree, hitting people is hitting people, no matter who's doing the hitting. But less people getting hit, is definitely a good thing, no matter the source of why less people are getting hit. ☺️ There are certainly a lot of questions to be asked about such a thing and it would requite a lot of consideration and some really, really good testing before considering such a thing being implemented.
