  2. 45 is the earliest you can get the top tier talent, and the lack of aoe can be a pain, but it is doable(not that it wouldn't hurt to get an aoe at lower levels) on the upside operatives/scoundrel get a stackable hot that can be easily refreshed, and sorc/sage get a bubble that absorbs damage. If you decide to level a merc on The Harbinger to check out the server and the class,i'll gladly help out with any questions you may have about merc healing ingame(or if you level one on eclipse just message me on the forums and i'll answer that way)
  3. If you ever feel like it,give The Harbinger a try,i've gotten quite a few decent tanks and rarely any bad ones.Maybe give mercenary/commando a try if you decide to do that,to get a feel for another healing class. Good luck with future flashpoints, hopefully you get more tanks/dps that know what to do.
  4. Secondary color is something that's determined by the crystal you get.For example 'yellow-blue crystal's' are blue on the outside part, and yellow in the middle(aka the core).Maybe one day we'll get to dye crystals like we can with armor, but for now it can't be changed.
  5. If LoS/Kiting is exploiting i guess everyone should've been banned along time ago.
  6. This is getting kinda sad now... Reported, don't click that link it's a referral link

  8. That's a good sign imo, being able to keep yourself and 2 dps up for most of a fight after the tank died from stupidity.Don't give up because of idiots, just put them on ignore if they're really bad and move on,there's bound to be some good tanks and dps on the server you're on,just gotta hope you get the good players.
  9. In my experience windows 8 had issues with swtor, along with other games. In swtors case it refused to run, regardless of what i tried.Guess you're lucky
  10. That's looking pretty good,i don't have much experience with ati/amd but in terms of the card i'd change it to a AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 PCIe 3.0 x16 Video Card if you can spare the $90 for it.Faster all round compared to the others such as 260,260x and the base 270.Otherwise,that card is decent.the 128-bit memory interface is a bit low. Edit: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/CyberPower_Z87_i5_Configurator this with the power supply changed to a '600 Watts - Corsair CX600 600W 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply' and the video card changed to a gtx 660 and the operating changed to windows 7 home premium(swtor won't run on windows 8,tried it about 2 months ago.been like that since it was released).it will cost $24 less than the 'Gamer Dragon' with a Radeon r9 270x.which you can use to upgrade a part for a bit more performance,or just keep it.
  11. Well in terms of cpu, you're good.i5 and i7 are both good, the gpu is the only thing to worry about.OPS and Warzones might be the bigges cause for concern.16+ people,a heap of effects that need to be rendered. If you can afford it,i'd recommend a gtx 660,or if you have a further $100(based on prices in Australia) or so you're ok with using,a gtx 760 will be even better.
  12. Overall it looks pretty good, the cpu can be overclocked past that 3.8 turbo if you feel inclined to do it.The video card is a bit of a worry imo,on max graphics at 2560x1440 with windows 7 my card is using around 1gb-1.2gb of vram on fleet.but drops to around 800mb when i turn off anti-aliasing.If you think you might play other games or want max graphics,or near max,a 2gb+ card would be a better option, like a gtx 660ti.It all depends on what you think you'll need,if you play at a lower resolution than i do,aren't after max graphics, and probably won't play other modern games,1gb will do. As an fyi,if you later on start playing other games and find 1gb isn't enough don't look at crossfire/sli as a way to double your vram. You will still only have 1gb of vram, the 2nd card will simply handle other stuff to help improve performance(for example nvidia physx). The only way to get more vram is a card with more vram. The more stuff on screen, the more your card has to render and the more vram used.
  13. Harbinger(minus the kiddies and trolls) is pretty good, just don't expect anything great from imp PvP,there are good PvPers, but also alot of noobs(tunnel vision, ignoring incs etc).Overall it's pretty decent.
  14. my merc Melinax http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/837/89zl.png http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/202/8yti.png http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/829/qyeq.png
  15. Personally i spacebar through most flashpoint cutscenes, unless of course the group agrees to watch them at the start.Telling someone to 'skip' and 'spacebar!' is just rude,if someone wants to watch the custscene, let them. It's not like the flashpoint will explode if you watch the cutscenes or some other strange event.
  16. On fleet,or on the planets themselves, are 2 vendors that you can spend planetary commendations at.Equipment sells gear, armor weapons etc.Modifications sells armorings, mods, enhancements etc that can be put into adaaptable/custom items. On fleet they're located in the suppies area,on the planets typically near the starting area. Pretty much every mission has a planetary commendation reward as an option, with the flashpoint dailies from the terminal on fleet and the random flashpoint daily, you should be able to keep your armor set updated with mods, assuming you only update every 4 levels or so. Adaptive/custom armor is worth it if you can supply yourself with modifications and you want that specific look without having it change within a few levels or so.You also have more freedom with the items stats with adaptable/custom,since you can select what modifications are used.
  17. Other than Stats such as aim, endurance, defense etc(which you can just add up to get total stats from an item) the armor value only shows up when it's placed into the armor and equipped.Adaptive armor will adjust based on what the character or companions highest level/weight of armor they can equip. So your powertech will get more armor than Mako from the same item for example. So far i haven't seen any definitive numbers as to how much armor an armoring gives.Based on item quality,green/blue/purple.It's most likely the quality of the armoring will determine how much armor you get.Green being the lowest, blue being in between, and purple being the highest. If what i've said is accurate, then an item of same quality, level and armor rating as the armoring should tell you how much armor an armoring will give you.For example a level 35 blue chest piece, armor rating 88.gives the same armor as my juggs level 35 blue armoring, armor rating 88,for the chest piece. Aslong as the armor rating on the item is the same as the armoring, you should be getting an accurate number for the amount of armor an armoring will give for that slot.
  18. With adaptive armor,it scales the armor gain from armorings to the highest your class can use,in your case heavy armor. That means after adding in the armoring, the adaptive piece will have atleast the same,if not more, armor. The 20 armor rating is just a base stat without any armorings, don't worry about that. Also the number on the arnoring(armor rating) isn't actually the armor it will give you when you put it in a moddable item. For example i have guardian armoring 15 in my juggs gear, armor rating 88.yet i get 341-545 armor depending on what item it is. If you plan on using adaptive/moddable heavy armor gear, cybertech will be a better choice, since you can craft armorings and mods for yourself or sell them.
  19. 1.Rocket boost is great, with the cooldown reduced to 30 seconds it becomes a viable way to get around over short distances quickly,or to get around faster in areas you can't use a speeder.Quck travel and fleet pass cooldown reductions are also useful if you find yourself using either of them alot,or go to use them but they're on cooldown. 2.Legacy unlocks(if it states 'applies to all characters') apply to all characters apart of the legacy they're unlocked on,currently every server has a seperate legacy. So a character on The Harbinger won't have the legacy unlocks from The Bastion for example. 3.Cartel market items only apply to the character they're purchased on,unless otherwise stated. Most armors, weapons, pets, emotes etc bought from the cartel market can be added to collections for cartel coins, allowing you to infinitely duplicate that item/set on your characters. The items are bound though,so you can't sell them. Some items can't be added to collections and instead will say 'Additional copies of this item are only available from the cartel market'. 4.Tbh the crafting menus are a mess imo,i usually sort by level and minimize the groups i don't need. You can also sort them by item slot and quality. 5.This is the ui setup i use:http://imageshack.com/a/img542/5656/tsoc.png 6.Apart from the GTN i think they drop from level 50 ops as either recipes or in weapons, which an artifice could then reverse engineer the crystal after taking it out to possibly learn the recipe, but i might be wrong on that,so take it with a grain of salt. 7.Gameplay wise, they probably do.Lorewise i see no reason for a pure blooded sith to have visual changes from the darkside. 8.http://swtor.wikia.com/wiki/Akaavi_Spar is one companion that uses a techstaff. 9.Imperial Agent is great as any alignment, everything seems to work perfectly regardless of what you choose, and it's a great story imo. The vaccine will remove the infection if you use it after you get infected. It lasts 6 hours. 10.Depends on the guild, some will expect high levels of activity, others are laid back.best bet is to look around.
  20. in price, about $60 aud for the cheapest i5.In terms of performance,it's a quad core with a larger memory cache. So you would see a difference compared to a dual core like the i3.add on another $40 aud for the i5-4670,and you get a higher speed per core.3.4 ghz instead of 3.1 ghz for the cheaper i5-4440.Or just $20 aud for the i5-4570 3.2 ghz. Chances are this game will only take advantage of 2 cores(i might be wrong on that) but having 4 cores will still help especially if you decide to multitask,4 cores can spread the workload and make it easier on the cpu to keep everything running smoothly compared to 2 cores.
  21. About a month ago i came up with a pc for a friend, decent for gaming and under $1000 aud.Not sure what it will be in your country's currency. If you have your own monitor that will save about $140 aud. Intel i3-4130 3.4GHz 3MB LGA1150 CPU ASRock H81M-HDS Motherboard G.Skill Trident-X 8GB Kit (4Gx2) DDR3-2400 Seagate 3.5" Barracuda 2TB S SATA3 7200rpm 64MB Cache Hard Disk Asus GTX660 2G PCI-E VGA Card Thermaltake Commander MS-III Black USB3.0 Mid Tower Case (No PSU) Thermaltake SP-750PCBAU Smart 750w 80+ Bronze Power Supply LG 21.5" 22EN43T 5ms 1920x1080 DVI D-SUB LED Backlight LCD Monitor LG GH24NSB0 24x SATA DVD-RW Drive OEM it ends up at around $950 aud.But some changes could reduce it.If it's in euros, its around your target price. the 1150 pin motherboard has two cpus that can be overclocked,if you ever get into that. the i5-4670k and the i7-4770k. Having an SSD will help with loading, installing, file copying times etc.The downside is that they cost quite a bit and have a smaller amount of space.
  22. My sith jugg talking to,then killing,some filthy jedi scum http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/541/7q21.png http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/713/7k6c.png http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/835/hjnb.png http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/43/c5hs.png
  23. Recently had a Mandalorian Raiders run, group was me,a 23 sorc,24 marauder,31 marauder.Should be easy...lol nope. the 31 marauder decides that he'll start every pull, eventually i decided not to bother trying to regain aggro. Both him and the 24 marauder ignored any normal/strong mobs in favor of the big shiny elites.Get up to the first boss, before the sorc even gets a chance to put static barrier on me,the 31 marauder jumps in.After the boss is down we keep going, get up to the area with 4 turrets,an elevator and a bunch of mobs.I go right, since its just a few normal mobs to kill.Of course the 31 marauder has other plans,he goes left and decides to attack the big shiny elite droid.Safe to say i got sick of that crap and left. I never understood why people think they can just rush ahead of the tank just because they might be a higher level.
  24. i'm all for it aswell. If it were to have different option setttings such as(option a,b,c etc) that can be changed when desired, maybe with the modification window,it'd be even better.
  25. Had two back to back Hammer Station runs yesterday, one somewhat bad the other quite good. First one started out ok,even if dps couldn't figure out what targets to attack first. The pull near the start with 2 elites,a bunch of strongs and norms went sort of ok..even if i had to hold aggro on every strong and elite while the dps ran around like headless chickens attacking whatever,to prevent the healer getting shot to pieces.Got through that, then the sorc decides every pull will start with him hitting force speed, running past me and hitting overload.Annoying but not enough to stop me.Not a single CC was thrown out that run,and to top it off the dps ignored the adds at the final boss, leaving me to pick them up with smash as they ran near me.Atleast we didn't wipe :I Second run was near perfect except for one slight problem, the sorc needed on a BH item, ran around with a str stat saber and ran out of force insanely fast, even for a low level sorc. However it was still a good run,the merc healer mainly just healed me with rapid shots, didn't really need anything else to keep me up(a healer and a tank in full moddable gear are great) and the sniper ended up handling the adds on the final boss with ease.
