  1. It is definitely just the Austin group. Something, or more likely someone in the Austin group has an issue with this content and this discussion. They haven't left me any options at this point but to take my money elsewhere. Oh well, I have faith in the Edmonton group though that they will have many great games in the future that will come with SGRA's and continue the Edmonton group's history of inclusive games. If Austin wants to remain discriminatory and maintain the exclusiveness of SW:TOR more power to them. It has reached a point of not being worth the effort for me anymore.
  2. Agreed it is pretty sad. They are definitely afraid of something, just what that is I don't know. Probably fear of losing more subs when they say "uh yeah we haven't done anything yet. we'll get back to you."
  3. I do. It is 12 months over due far as I am concerned. This is baseline class story content. It boggles the mind really how they went live without it.
  4. Huh? All the races use the same bodies and skeletons. There is literally no difference between them aside from some that have horns or appendages on their heads and BW seems content to just let those clip right through everything anyway.
  5. I was in much the same position when I left the game 9 months ago with my JK and a few others sitting in cantinas waiting. Now I come back 9 months later and.... still waiting. I knew SGRA's weren't in that wasn't a surprise but I was surprised to find the game relatively unchanged since I left. The legacy has a handful of silly things to use at best but overall I didn't see anything there I would actually spend credits on more or less cartel coins. The UI Customization is nice but they can't have spent 9 months developing that? Aside from that relatively little changed for any of my characters (talent points got refunded was the most exciting thing I saw). Of course that might be partly because of previously mentioned case of being stuck sitting in a cantina for 9 months. But there you have it.
  6. If that is they way they do their patching (not saying they are just if) they are doing it wrong. Way wrong.
  7. Companies only do that when they care about their customers beyond how much money they can squeeze from their wallets. There is a reason EA got the Worst Company in the US award.
  8. Justifying why we want content? Really? How do they justify PvP content then? In a (healthy) MMO PvP is always among the least used content in the game. PvP servers are always ghost towns battlegrounds and arenas are never used by a vast majority of the playerbase. How do they justify end game content? Only a tiny fraction of players ever even step inside an end game instance more or less fully explore it. Everyone sees content while leveling. In SW:TOR this means the class and planet stories. Adding new content for the class and planet stories is by far the best investment BW can make if we are talking about what portions of the playerbase are going to use it. If you chop up any particular issue you can always demean it as a "minority concern" and is a particularly overused attack by privileged groups to assert their own self assumed importance and made up 'right' to hold their privileged status. In the end though the best word for it is simply selfishness. /shrug The only real reason why BW should do it is because its just the right thing to do (and rightfully should have been done day 1 of launch). Whether they are going to do that or not? Well that's why we are here, to find out. All that said: I actually think that statement has a lot of merit, sadly.
  9. I don't think so. Moving out to general is about the best idea I've heard here in a long time. Whether any thing ever pans out from GLAAD is irrelevent. Just moving the discussion to a more visible venue is a statement in and of itself. Just remember to ignore the trolls, flag and move on.
  10. LOL yeah they are "watching us" now. Of course its only to reprimand and not to receive feedback but I guess that is actually better than what we've gotten the last 9 months. Take what you can get right? Edit: Oh and yeah, I made a few posts in Uluain's old thread, just fyi (and the point of my last post actually).
  11. That's not actually true, they've never said anything about whether the content would be with existing or brand new companions. Except that is actually true. PvP in MMO's is always horrible and is universally the least skill dependent venue for Player versus Player type action in any video game genre I've ever played. It always come down to who has the bigger lightsaber so to speak. For good PvP a game needs to be designed around it to ensure a level playing field for all competitors. I enjoy a lot of different kinds of "PvP" but MMO's are about the last place it makes sense. That said, I don't go around all the PvP threads telling folks their concerns are unimportant. That would just be an incredibly rude and selfish thing to do.
  12. For those unaware supporters of SGRA's have undertaken a writing campaign to GLAAD and other GLBT organizations and various gaming and news outlets to try and garner outside interest in the addition of this content to SW:TOR and some, any, word on the issue. It took about GLAAD about 24 hours to respond with a quick "Thanks for the letter, we're contacting BW/EA for a response" which is much faster than we are used after 9 months of silence from BW. Will it get anymore out of EA/BW than a quick canned "blah blah blah we truly care about the GLBT community and have a long history of inclusion in our games. More info when available blah blah blah"? Probably not, but its worth the effort if for no other reason than to throw a little egg on their face.
  13. *pokes head in, looks around Wow spacious here in general. Was getting cramped being shoved in that Story and Lore forum for so long. Well now that we are here, just a quick reminder about the inevitable since this thread will undoubtedly draw every troll and bigot on the fourm, don't reply, just flag and move on. /waves goodbye to Uluain I won't be far behind, only came back for the one month to check things out and see what they have added and improved in the nine months I've been gone. Unfortunately not much. Once my one month runs out I'll be gone again, likely for good this time. Until then though I can do little more than ask "What's the status of SGRA's being added to SW:TOR?".
  14. That's actually excellent advice. heading that way now.
  15. Unlike BW I do think GLAAD would still at least look into it, but you are correct. Just had the funniest image going through my head, since no one from BW actually reads the thread they are going to be taken completely off guard if someone from GLAAD ends up calling them asking for a statement. I can just imagine them being completely shocked by it despite the fact we have been talking about it for days now. EA Marketing Guy "There are upset about what? " *calls TOR Game Director "Did you know about this?" " No I had no idea, let me call the forum mods." *calls forum mods "They are upset about what?"
  16. That was quite good actually. Anyone that wants to support but doesn't know what to say just copy/paste that and change the footer there.
  17. That's good news actually. Good news is better than what we are used to, which is no news. Hmmm, yep.
  18. I just returned to the game recently and started up a new JK. When I saw a bunch of sith purebloods walking through the Jedi Temple I knew lore had pretty much gone out the window in relation to TOR.
  19. That is certainly self evident at this point. This is without a doubt the most requested, most asked about, and most talked about issue on the forums. Yet... That's not really true. The better part of a year ago they said it might be coming but we've never gotten official confirmation that "Yes SGRA's are definitely on the way with [X] patch/update/content". I don't know where this idea that the devs have "addressed this multiple times" is coming from, the devs have barely ever said anything about.
  20. MMM chocolate. Honestly, he said exactly what I would have expected him to say and what he should have said. HE can't really open himself up for that kind of attention on Twitter no less. The fact that the forums are useless for us on this issue isn't his fault and he likely isn't even aware of how useless it is.
  21. Hal Hood is the head story guy right? Lets not be too harsh on Hal then. He (likely) isn't the one that ultimately gets to decide what he does and doesn't write about nor what he is and isn't allowed to talk about. The developers for the most are probably entirely removed from the decision making processes. It's those decision makers, the ones that give yea and nay to green light content and communications that deserve the ire. Edit: When I say developer I mean folks like writers, programmers, QA people, artists, those type of folks. The decision makers are producers and project leads and marketing folks, I'm tempted to throw the mod team in here as well since they should have "some" influence on pushing for information like this to get released but for all we know they might be as ignored as we are.
