  1. *most of this thread* "Oh meh Gerd, why won't you pay attention to meeeeeeeeeee!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I NEED YOU TO RESPOND TO MEEEEEEEEEEEE!?!?!?!?! I reported a bug three weeks ago and you haven't fixed it yet. Worse, you never responded! No, I have no idea how long it takes to fix bugs. No, I think doing bug fixing patches every two to three days instead all at once with a content update is a great idea. Who cares how long servers have to be down to do those patches? No, I don't understand how fixes can have unexpected interactions when implemented separately." Frankly, I'd be tempted to drag my figurative feet just to watch all the raging and pouting.
  2. What is your build? What is your Expertise? What class was your attacker? What gear/build combination did he have? Was it a critical hit? All of these need answers before we can do more than WAG (wild a** guess) it.
  3. I figured it probably was, but I found it disturbingly amusing that you could do so. I noticed the harvesting icon and thought, "Really? That's so wrong... wonder what I'll get?" Then had Ashara harvest the corpse. Got 2 Alien Bacteria, if you're curious.
  4. If it's so crowded and busy as to severely interfere with you (and a 2 minute wait is not "severely"*), then you might want to check if there are other instances for that planet; there usually will be. Then all you need to do is open your main map, select another instance, and transfer to it. *If two minutes is a serious problem, you should probably look into just playing single-player RPGs.
  5. Why are Ortolans "harvestable" via Bioanalysis? As far as I know, they are the only sentient species you can do that to. Or are there others I just didn't notice?
  6. Vader never ran around in a full sprint, either. Heck, he didn't even jog. He stalked. He strode. The cape was also jet back and featureless, no designs at all. But nice strawman. Oh, and no, you do NOT look remotely like Vader in your cape. Not even close.
  7. *adds cowbell* plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk
  8. Why do so many want a cape? They do realize that running around in armor with a cape makes them look like a seven year old playing 'Superman', right? They don't look cool, intimidating, or bad***. They look lame, childish, and amusing. I would like the armor to go back to being true-black. Hopefully the planned armor dyes can be used to fix this for each individual person. The hood thing sounds like someone made changes on top of changes and never "cleared" the previous versions, so they ended up getting rendered on top of each other.
  9. *facepalm* If you don't want to be mocked for childish whining, don't do it on a forum. If you do chose to do so, grow a thicker skin and accept that people will mock you for whining when you whine.
  10. Please no EQ2 style housing. It would make landing on a planet (already a long load screen) intolerable. You do know that the game pre-loads all the instances on a planet? That's why you can just walk into one without a load-screen. It's also why planets with numerous instances take so long to load. If you do what they've done for the ships (separated by a loading period), then what's the point? Just make the ships more customizable. If you do an entire area as player-housing, then you'd have a series of load-screens every time someone changed something. I can do without this game trying to be so "social" it becomes Second Life with combat.
  11. I have no "compassion {read: tolerance}" for childish whining. Even less for those that would use absurd exaggerations and then backpedal when called on them. If you're going to whine, own it. Don't try to justify it as anything other than whining.
  12. Triangulate. Take a bearing with the droid, note the direction indicated, move a significant distance in a straight line from that first point (not directly along the indicated direction, but at an angle as if the first "line" is a side of a triangle [for example if indicated North East, you'd move directly East), use the droid again, note indicated direction and then: if #1 New bearing is different from previous one, mentally note where the two bearings cross and dig at that point; if #2 Same or very similar new bearing to old, repeat process until results = #1.
  13. If you can only play once a week, why are you subbing at all? It would be cheaper for you to microtrans in the long run. You can only play once a week, so it's pretty pointless to pay for the rest of that week, right? Buy the unlocks you'll need and you'll never need to worry about the money you're losing on unexpected downtime.
  14. It took me about 20 hours (from 45), at most, to hit 50. My first character was 50 shortly after arriving on Corellia. I'm a sub though, and always had rested XP to boost me along.
  15. Oh, I agree! I'd love to see mounts and pets in the Achievement rewards. And the title things are annoying. I use them, but only ones that I feel fit my character or are unusual. I'd really like it if they ripped a page from Eastern MMOs and apply stat boosts to Titles, ideally to those titles only available through Achievements; and maybe the Cartel Market Pac titles.
  16. But that's not actually conclusive. It could be just as likely that the sub boost is applied to all characters below level 10 and if your account isn't flagged as a Subscriber when you ding 10, then the boost is not switched on the next time you log in. To an outside observer, it would be impossible to tell the difference without seeing the code itself. Actually, since he mentioned that he continued to get the same XP with his F2P character as his Subbed account until he logged off, I'm inclined to suspect that something always there 'stopped being turned on' rather than something new getting 'turned on'. Also, coding wise it's easier and less prone to mistakes if it's all addition or all subtraction when calculating numbers than its is to mix and match them.
  17. If the XP boost for subscribers is actually how the difference in XP between subs and F2P works*, then this looks right to me. If true, the the problem is with the Rested bonus still being applied. *This makes sense to me since I think it'd be easier to apply a bonus than a penalty in calculating XP as far as stability is concerned. You'd also avoid problems and possible errors when XP boost items are applied.
  18. I'm not sure rested experience is disabled during the Double Exp weekends. It doesn't double the double (so to speak) but I do think it affects experience gained. I decided Saturday that I would not be playing the game during Double Weekends because I was leveling too fast and could not get/afford the gear/modifications upgrades to keep up with my level and pay for training (both character and crafting). What I noticed playing was that I was getting more experience on double weekends than I was during the week. The only difference was the double weekend. I haven't seen the "normal" color of an experience bar for months on my main and primary alt, and only briefly after creating a new character. To me, the experience bar is always green (or at least has a sizable section on the remainder of the bar that is green). What I think is happening is that both apply, but not to each other. For example: A quest normally rewards 5k exp. With Double Weekend, it's 10k. With Rested it's also 10k. What looks like is happening is that you get the doubled exp from both, so you get 15k total; 5k for the quest, 5k for the Double Weekend, and another 5k for the Rested.
  19. I'm curious as just what pre-1990 MMORPGs existed and what that has to do with his point of Achievements = Titles. I can say that it's common with Eastern MMOs such as Aion, Mabinogi and the like. Though with them the titles actually boost specific stats. World of Warcraft made the achievement system noticeable in Western MMOs. And yes, it was mostly just vanity titles. They also had mount rewards and some special vanity pets and items.
  20. I'm not complaining so much as attempting to alert to them to something that should have been noticed on the PTS. The content isn't restricted, so the placement of mobs needs to be considered for all participants. It's something they might want to keep in mind for the next event.
  21. It's a ranged-type and literally surrounded by mobs that spawn roughly every 60 seconds. The only line-of-sight breakpoint would lead him right through another group of mobs.
  22. They re-spawn in less than 60 seconds.
  23. Two daily Gree quests have a spawn location issue with "summoned" targets. One is the Pirate Captain spawning right next to a gold elite and it's adds. The second is the test beast chip quest and it's final target. At least one location has it over lap with the spawn point of two silver elites. Due to the nature of dailies and the increased spawn rate, you can literally kill the lesser targets, heal, summon the primary target and be faced with a re-spawn before killing that target. You might want to take a look at all the spawn points and make sure there isn't any overlap.
  24. How about giving the option of choosing a voice for your characters? Not only would this open up more options for character creation, but it might help eliminate the unfortunate implications of so many Imperial characters having British accents while Republic characters have more American ones.
