  1. Jumped on to my Sage for the first time since January, looked at the talent tree and went with the same build I've been using for almost a year. Still mopped up 1v1, still saved teammates, still had the most kills, killing blows, solo kills, medals, and still had 300k damage and 100k healing. All that after the rest of the world has 5 months to catch up and outgear me and when I couldn't even quite remember where I left my stun and lift.

So, basically, what is all the whining about? I've been playing a Sage since July of last year, way back even before people were crying non-stop about how OP Sage is in beta. Not much has changed, but some how the whining has gone full circle.

  2. I wouldn't say its a positive review seeing that it's Yahtzee, but I think he did like this game more than your typical Massive Multiplayer Online Rage Producing Gobbledygoo

I would. It's Yahtzee. That's as close as you're going to get to a positive review.

  3. The sheer number of people rolling one class has to be some kind of indicator that something is up.

Would that be the overpowered Scoundrel/Operative, the overpowered Sage/Sorcerer, the overpowered Commando/Mercenary, the overpowered Vanguard/Powertech or the class this thread is about, the overpowered Shadow/Assassin?

Most of my games have reasonably even class distributions.

  4. But that's not the Imp players fault, so I don't think a roll back is in order. As far as I can see, those Imp players spent the entire working on gaining Valor and not exploiting it.

Blame it on BW for breaking the game but you can't blame it on the players who wanted to roll Imperials.

And before OP calls me a Imp player, I main a republic commando. I'm not level 50, but I smell bull crap demands when its around.

Right, and it's not my fault if a bug accidentally gives me fourteen trillion credits. I'm sure that won't stop you from asking for a rollback when I give 10 billion to a thousand of my closest friends and use the other four thousand billion to buy every single item on the AH and thoroughly destroy the economy.

It's not about whose fault it is, it's about the long term health of the game. One of the few things an MMO must have is at least the illusion of fairness or people quit.

  5. that doesnt mean it was an exploit. They've already said that the so called 'rumors' about npcs & cannons giving valor were false. This means that if someone went from 10 to 60, they spent the entire day out in ilum, probably with an organized group.

If they put that much effort into it, i see nothing wrong with it...except bioware needing to make the valor rewards on ilum a bit less overall.

    That's not an exploit.

10-60 is clearly not something you're supposed to be doing in a day. We're talking about 90+ hours of warzones (not counting queues) where you both win and score 9-10 medals worth of valor. It is also clear Bioware did not intend for a group of Imperials to AoE the medical center respawn point instantly killing every spawn. It was both a valor exploit and griefing, hence the hot fix today.

If all that happened was someone gained a few valor levels then it's no big deal. However if people gained many valor levels, especially beyond 50 where the curve is exponential, then we're talking about someone exploiting weeks or even months worth of valor. That is a big deal.

If you think I'm going to stick around playing warzones with a bunch of Battlemasters that exploited to get there in order to achieve it legitimately you're mistaken. I'll just take my time and money elsewhere.

  6. because going AROUND an enemy is hard to do, especially when there's multiple speeder points in the zone, right?

Honestly, if you can't figure out how to avoid large groups of enemies, YOU are a large part of the reason group pvp generally sucks in MMORPGS.

*although i will admit, having a guide that points it out for those that aren't bright enough to figure it out on their own helps everyone involved.

You can't go around anything when you die within seconds of respawning and there is no option to respawn elsewhere.

Try to know what the bloody thread is about before you post derogatory crap.

  7. Thank you for making PvP playable for everyone.

    No they didn't.

Thank you for providing a fun gaming experience

    Not on Ilum.

Sure there are still problems, but I have no doubt that you'll fix them. People on these forums don't understand that coding takes time. They're impatient I guess.

Why? These problems were foreseeable and obvious. They were apparent. There is no excuse for this.

    TL;DR Show Bioware some respect.

TL;DR I pay for a product, hire a competent designer already.

  8. You realize that some of us are at work, sleeping, take care of real life situations so we are not available to be spamming the forums all day looking for changes or waiting for the latest QQ thread, right?

There is a problem, it has been identified, and it will be fixed. Being a former hardcore player, you folks really need to take a chill pill. Taking your aggression out on the community is not the way to do it, nor is flaming BioWare. Oversights in programming happen all the time, if people had some semblance of this there wouldn't be so much crying.

    Oh stop it already.

This is not an "oversight". This is utter incompetence on display. Nothing about Ilum has been mysterious or unpredictable. Even were the turrets not giving Valor it would still be a horrible, broken piece of crap.

  9. You don't even know the correct class names.

A Sorcerer doesn't even have a single ability that can do more than half of what a Scoundrel/Operative or Gunslinger/Sniper nuke can do. Hell they don't even have a single ability that can match a Guardian/Juggernaut nuke, or a Sentinel/Marauder nuke, or a Commando/Mercenary nuke.

Vanguard/Powertech might be the only class in the game that doesn't have a more powerful nuke/burst than Sage/Sorcerer does.

But don't let facts and reality get in the way of another thread based on "untruths". I'd call it what it is but the Bioware mods are incapable of discernment.

  10. So the fresh 50's that only have the ability to have 1 champions bag as soon as they hit 50, will they be screwed? Most likely they will have little to no expertise rating, and with all the farming that's already been going on...

What is your opinion on this situation?

Actually you can have six plus another 8 on your first day just from quests. But who's counting.

  11. First of all you're not showing the sage's stats but the dude below. We don't get medals for guarding people ya know.

    Regards,

    Kalantris

No, he's not. The dude below has 8 medals, the list has 13.

    Guess what that means?

    It's not a Sage, it's a Shadow.

OP can't even get the class he's complaining about correct? Herp derp.

  12. A half decent Sorc will not lose to a Operative. Too bad there are so many baddies playing Inquisitor that come QQ on forums.

Certain builds should never lose to an Operative with all other things being equal. A 31 point Madness/Balance build has far more tools to deal with them than a 31 point Seer/Corruption.

I've watched the QQ for going on 7 months now. I give credit to Bioware that so far despite massive amounts of whining since at least August they haven't given in to the inaccurate, baseless and often flat out dishonest nonsense spewed on their forums.

Sorcerer was not OP in August when it was the only class with working trees, it was not OP in October when all the other classes got (mostly) working trees and it's not OP now. In fact, I still don't believe any class is OP, some need minor tweaks.

  13. Hitting 50 a little too soon?!

Soo its ok that the low lvls suffer, but its not ok that some 50´s have to wait.

Introducing changes that make it difficult or impossible to use major features in a paid service is a healthy move right?

This is why we were quite happy to have a queue on Jung Ma the first couple weeks. Right now, well past prime time, there's 43 level 50s in warzones and unknown more in queues just on the Republic side. Good for us, but I don't know what those of you on smaller servers are going to do.
