  1. I think I have my Tionese around. Well, I'll have to check anyway. Thank you.
  2. A question. If you already transfered an armoring from tier gear to another, with the changes have these got the set bonuses as well?
  3. I've recently hit 50 with my Jedi Guardian, and so far it's quite nice to play it. I've read that so far the hybrid build is the best in regards of threat and mitigation. But I went for full defense, it felt more intuitive from my perspective. Now, with all the changes in the new patch and with it coming in less than a month, would it be wise to change to hybrid or should I remain in defense, to get accustomed to the mechanics? If it wasn't clear from before, I am mainly aiming to be a tank.
  4. May I suggest <The Guild Formely Known as Empire>?
  5. Thank you. It was just to be clear. I guess I should have got Biochem instead of Artifice. But it was so tempting to make my own crystals... specially from a roleplaying perspective. And how does the Beatles sing? "With a little help of my friends..."
  6. Are we that healer dependant as I think we are? We don't have a healing ability (besides Introspection), as far as I'm aware of. It's not that I want to have one. Just to be clear, so I adjust my gameplay style accordingly.
  7. But the Jedi in armor IS the classic look. What we see in the movies is at least 3,600 years later. Jedi left the armor behind after the Ruusan Reformation. Edit: Added link.
  8. And... if both are truly Jedi, the "power struggle" here presented is irrelevant. They are working together, in complete sync. "There's no chaos, there's harmony", says the Jedi Code.
  9. I would love to revisit Dantooine. But that's mostly because I like soft plains and open spaces. I do like Tatooine for that, though it's a bit dry, he he. What about a visit to Lehon? Surely it's an interesting place for story advance.
  10. I think here's one pivotal point on why the dark side of the Force feels -in my opinion- stronger than the light side: it's easy to get controlled by your emotions. It's true in real life, it's true in the Star Wars universe. And while darksiders would usually tell you that they have the power, what I see most of the times is that the power has them. Even the Sith Emperor is controlled by emotions. In his case, fear of the death. All he does points towards achieving inmortality of his soul. And thousands of years later, Palpatine fell on the same, his fear of death. Compare that to Darth Bane; he was prepared to die at the hands of Darth Zannah, and in that maybe he was not as dark as he thought he was (well, he was still a mass murderer with the whole thought bomb at Ruusan).
  11. Level 34 Defense Guardian, and it felt sort of anticlimatic to kill him in my first try. Interrupted him as much as I could, and pretty much used every CD I have. No legacy perks, though. His son felt much harder. Maybe politics softened him.
  12. Just a small question: do I have to contact any of you in game before posting my character request in the guild site? So far your guild is the one that appeals me better in regards of what I will like to play here.
  13. I think that though Soresu indeed could be prone to be outpowered by a more agressive form like Shien or Juyo, that approach only takes in account the battle by itself. From what I remember, most Soresu practitioners tried to reason with their opponents and end the fight. From there I think it comes the conception that a Soresu master is near invincible. It's really hard to defeat someone if in the end you join him.
  14. ((First of all, this thread is so full of win that you can feel the Force flowing through it. Thank you very much. Now, to what is right now concerning me. As I'm new player and willing to role play a Jedi Knight, I have a question about the acting of the members of the Order and the relation of them with the Code. How do you recommend to role play a Jedi Guardian that wants to understand fully the Code, in the way master Odan-Urr wanted instead of as a set of rules, like is used in the current time of the game? Thanks in advance.))
  15. My impression is that more people in the Empire are dedicated to the military life. The republic seems to rest in local militia to keep the line. But then again, that's just my impression...
  16. Hello everyone. So far I've been working up my levels for my first (and probably main) character, my guardian Jedi Knight, and when I reach 50 my intentions are to play in PvE and mostly RP. I mean, who doesn't want to be a Jedi? Jokes apart, I'd like to join a RP guild, and though I've seen that many are recruiting, most of the Republic RP guilds seem to be somehow secretive organizations that work in the shadows. Knowing that it's an important part of the Republic's effort to halt the Empire from turning the whole galaxy in red and black, I'd like to know if there is any RP guild that is more open, story and in-character wise, in their intentions. Thanks in advance.
  17. I certainly agree with this. Nothing says Soresu more than the one hand, over your head hold while you taunt your enemy with the free hand.
  18. I have started with the game just about one week and half ago. So my experience is anecdotical at best. But I saw a world of difference between facing Tarnis at level 15 (died all the time) and at level 16 (his level): in the last scenario, I killed him at the first try. No different gear. Hope that gives you, OP, some insight.
  19. Thank you all for the responses, and I apologize for using alkhattabi's thread. I think I'll go full defense, then. So far guardian is been a hell of a ride.
  20. Hello, I'm a newly arrived player and I'm certainly interested in playing a PvE Jedi Guardian Tank. First of all, thank you Grallmate for the useful post. It seems like I'll be following it closely. I have a question, though. When you say that full defense spec has lower single threat generation, how much lower? Enough to not be able to main tank a boss? Or is possible to MT with that spec?
  21. I've already asked this in the New Players forum, and they suggested that I asked it here. I've always liked the RPG part of MMORPGs. It's like my old D&D table, now all across the world. With that said, I'd like to know how is the game in regards of opportunities to roleplay. I really, really, REALLY want to play a Jedi Knight and stick mostly to the motives presented in the game. Is the community involved in it or it's more focused in personal stories? Thanks in advance.

  23. Hello everyone. I'm José Manuel, from Chile, and recently bought the game. Coming from a long term committment from WoW, I'm not new to the MMO world. I do want to try new things, so here I am, ready to walk the sky of the galaxy (pun intended). I've always liked the tanking role and the up close and personal approach, so I'll probably end up playing a Jedi Guardian. And I'm a avid roleplayer. I'm inclined to choose The Ebon Hawk as my first server. So... find me there when I finish downloading the client. Hope to see you soon in game.
