A New Hope is actually a retelling of Fantasy style stories what with the farm boy who becomes a knight and learns magic to save a princess from the evil black knight in his dark castle. Star Trek doesn't have that or explore those types of stories.

no just no The force isn't dark matter or anything like that and no lightsabers are 100% impossible. No amount of technology or time will change that. They defy every law of physics and are not possible like they are in the movies. You COULD make a weapon with SOME of the properites but it wouldn't be the same thing. The article you linked to is just Yahoo trying to get page views. The only way a REAL light saber like the movies is possible is if we discover MAGIC.

it can't be plasma for a couple reasons 1. If it was super heated plasma it would emit a lot of heat and kill the person using the light saber. 2. to contain it you would have to use a magnetic field which means anything magnetic would fly to the light saber. 3. Plasma isn't solid so it would just pass through other light sabers. 4. in EP1 where Qui Gon uses his light saber to melt the door. If it was plasma it would just smoosh against the door like fog from a fog machine hitting a solid object 5. If it was plasma you coudln't have the light saber turn on and off like they do.

except nothing in Star Wars is science. Oh and it also takes place in the past.

yeah this is a common trick by reporters. It in no way is acting like a lightsaber. They put that title up so they can get page views. A light saber has to Melt through metal with out giving off any heat Be both solid and not solid Able to deflect laser beams have a point where it stops It is 100% impossible to make a weapon with all of those properties. You can come close on some of them but not all of them.

you do realize that its rare when MMOs celebrate 1 or 2 year anniversary. For example WoW didn't do anything till its 5 year anniversary

I take it you are not familer with the history of Star Wars and Disney. Star Wars has been in the Disney parks since 1987.. yeah thats right Vader has been in the Disney parks for over 26 years Disney has also been holding Star Wars weekends in Walt Disney world for a long time and they are an absolute blast. So it seems Disney and Star Wars mix really well.

not sure what you were watching but Firefly had little to no space combat. You can already invite people to your ship and talk to them while you sit out in space while you listen to the hum of your engines. That's pretty much all that happened on board ship in Firefly. so grats you got it!

Really? Then why didn't he bash Final Fantasy when that was launched with out any PVP at all? Simple because the game just came out and everyone is going nuts over the new hotness. As time goes on I will bet anything that he will turn to bashing FF as the new shiny begins to dull. Doing a 20 minute rant about the Gamoran Axe is not critizing a bad decision, which btw the axe is awesome. Its hyperbole to attract more viewers its the same thing these so called political shows do. He does this with every game. Praises it during beta to attract people who are interested in the game to watch and then after release bashes it to get those viewers who aren't happy. Its a smart decision and remember he is running a business Making an episode titled "F U Bioware" is only there to get viewers and guess what ? It worked, thats the most highly viewed episode. problem is he is running out of things to bash. Bioware has made a lot of really good decisions which is why he is left making rants out of really stupid things like his 15 min rant about calling one of the arenas "Space Garage"

my point is the only thing you can say is when the game was in beta he praised it. But as soon as it became "COOL" to bash SWTOR he hopped right on board that ban wagon. and don't give me that crap "Oh well SWTOR hasn't done anything right since beta" There have been many great things added to the game. Clearly more bad then good but he doesn't praise or even give credit to them for the most part. In the rare cases he does he will mumble something then lead into an ad for Audible

yeah... his praise consists of him saying "oh cool feature Moving on have you guys tried Audible yet?" While his bashing consists of ranting for 30 mins how Bioware is destroying video games by selling a Gamoran Axe on the cartel market. Now Mike Schafnit on the other hand did an excellent job as host for the 2 weeks he did it. He didn't bash he didn't praise he acted like a Host. But of course raging over a video game is what gets the viewers so rage he will.

oh there has been but the thing is he never praised the good stuff before and there was a lot of good stuff. He has even been the voice of reason lately. Such as when they decided to make the Hutt cartel free to all subscribers. Before he would have raged over that.

actually they are pretty bad at MMO analysis. They tend to get a lot of things wrong. But its funny how quick they have changed their tune on SWTOR. Even Garry is now praising it.

because banks in general take a lot of coding to do. WoW didn't get guild banks till almost a year after launch. Many MMOs today still don't launch with banks. Now you are asking for a bank that is able to change its access on a whim. Yeah...
