  1. Hey, does anyone know how many cartel coins it costs to unlock the Skiffs and the Hover Chairs in collections? (I understand that they have to first be purchased from the GTN, or found in a cartel pack).
  2. Apparently, Disney is laying off a lot of people and closing certain division of Lucas Arts. If they do dissolve Lucas Arts, will they allow SWTOR to continue? Or does Disney have the power to shut the game down as well?
  3. After the event ends, will I still be able to gain Gree reputation or use the rep tokens I already have to get more Gree rep? Right now, I have enough helix components to buy two legacy weapons, but I do not have the rank (need roughly 25k more points) which I could get in a week if I weren't capped at 12k. So is it possible to use my rep tokens after the event and then use my helix components to get the legacy weapons?
  4. I think we all wish we could hit a magic easy button to make us invincible. I really believe that with us jedi/sith leaping and zipping all over the place, the people who have it truly bad are bounty hunters /Troopers. I cannot say much about the agent though because I've neither heard complaints or played one. Still, if one class is nerfed, then that class *****es, and if one class is improved, then the other classes *****. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
  5. Eh, I agree with Rainbow about the mindset that empire players are given throughout their time with PvE. I do not really think that age has as much to do with it. I am sure that both the republic side and the empire attract their fair share of young players. Im not the youngest for sure, but I am roughly college age, and I find that for myself and others in my guild around my age, a more mature mindset definitely prevails. Sure, we act up a little sometimes, but who doesn't get a little bored here and there and troll someone? Still, I think we all know that there are a lot of young people these days that have some kind of gaming juice that just makes them beastly. So I am not really willing to say that it is exclusively the fault of young people who want to be darth vader. What about all of the kids who want to be obi-wan kenobi, or han solo? A counter argument is that immature people are the ones who think that the good side always wins in life, and so that is how they are gonna play in the game because that makes them feel better about themselves. [i am not saying this is the case, it is just a counter argument]. I really think it is what we Imps have been taught by PvE I also think that as PvE quests across the board are dumbed down for F2P, there will be an increase in the number of people (on both sides) who think that they can solo everything and nothing in this game is going to be challenging. I hope that doesn't happen... For now, Imps need to put aside their solo attitude, hop on a ventrillo, and kick some booty in PvP.
  6. I feel your pain. I am on Jedi Covenant and it is rare that Imperials will win after 5 pm est. We try to solo everything and we think we are ****** because we went through kickass story modes and moderately challenging heroics. The Republic side doesn't have that (in my opinion). The story modes for the jedi (which everyone over there wants to be) are too "kiddy" and their heroics are a joke, so they get a watered-down PvE experience. They compensate for all of this by PvPing which they do exceptionally well. I don't know why, but they seem to be more wiling to form premades and communicate with each other. [This is all just a theory I have come up with out of frustration, may be off ] My guild has over 400 members in it, and at a given time as many as 20 are active. Of the 20, only us officers are willing to get on vent and group up to do things. Everyone else it seems just want to rpg. That said, I have hope. About 5 of us in my guild are gearing up for PvP right now and when 3 or more of us get together, we actually win stuff about half the time. Definitely look for a guild to group up with who is at least semi-serious about PvP.
  7. I just found this thread while searching for an answer to pvp woes. I agree with the OP that the endgame needs to be improved. For PvP, that means getting some better structuring/ tiers for level 50 players. For PvE it means fixing a broken group finder, fixing Lost Island (so you can actually do it with Columi gear maybe?), and for sure fixing that stupid cannon **** on Kaon. I do not believe that it is impossible to gear up in PvP though. Over the christmas break, (month of December), I level a sith assassin from level 1 to 50. Since December 28 when I hit 50 on him, I have played exclusively PvE until 5 days ago. In terms of PvE gear, he is about half columi, half black hole, and he has some decent stats. 5 days ago however, I decided to give PvP a chance. I went and got the little mission to grab some recruit gear, I went into some WZs and got my face pounded, while dealing little to no damage to anyone who wasn't in recruit gear (which very few republic toons have). Knowing that I can't last long, and my dps as a tank isnt worth crap, I opted instead to shield people. I would throw my guard on someone and kite around while they take damage, which gets me a medal or two real quick. Also, whenever possible, I make a mad dash for a pylon or a defense point and I can get a medal or two for capturing and/or defending those. Doing this, I have never failed to get at least 3 medals per warzone. I play about 8-10 matches per day (they queue pretty quick for me), and I play a little more on the weekend. As I said, I have been doing this for about 5 days now. After getting my weekly and my daily every day for PvP, I now have my War-Hero lightsaber, helmet, robess, gloves, and pants. My expertise is just around 1200 and I am not dying nearly as much now. In fact, I am about midrange in comparison to whoever I queued with. I usually end up with 7-14 medals per match. I understand what you mean when you talk about how frustrating the PvP in this game is. The trick for recruit geared players is to not worry about objectives too much. (Like solo capturing a guarded defense post, or scoring in huttball). Spend your 10 minutes of warzone time doing whatever you need to to get that 1 medal you need. As far as gearing, after doing some lowbie pvp, I had around 1200 comms. I used these to get an offhand after a couple of WZs. Then I checked out the math. If you do your daily, just complete 4 WZs, you get 100 regular comms. (Disregard the 100 ranked comms for now). After doing those 4 WZs, you should have roughly 500 comms total, including the 100 from the daily. You can stop there, and get a piece of gear every 2 days, or you can play another 5 or 6 matches each day, and get a piece nearly every day. If you do regular warzones like that every day, getting roughly 500 comms per day, you should be able to get all the war-hero gear in 2-3 weeks.
  8. Hey guys, I've got a level 50 Assassin tank with mostly columi level gear, except in his lightsaber and shield which have a level 52 level 52 hilt/armoring. Here are some of my stats (with inquisitor and BH buff): Health: 23937 Endurance: 2120 Willpower: 1363 Accuracy (Melee): 97.79% Accuracy (Force): 105.98% Damage Reduction: 36.84% Defense Chance: 25.35% Shield Chance: 57.29% (with ward) Shield Absorption: 44.30% Crit Chance (Force): 16.47% Crit Multiplier (Force): 51.00% Crit Chance (Melee): 17.42% Crit Multiplayer (Melee): 51.00% My question is, what should I augment with right now? I have only augmented 2 pieces of gear right now, and that was for absorption. Should I increase shield chance even though I have the ward? Or should I focus on def or endurance? What about critical? Does that matter much for tanking?
  9. I'm trying to figure out which augments to use for healing on my merc. Should I go with (22) Advanced Reflex Augs (+18 aim, + 12 End) or would (22) Advanced Overkill Augs (+18 Power, +12 End) be better? I read somewhere that aim should always be boosted if you can, but then I read somewhere else that you should go with more power. I'm really not sure which is better. Any thoughts?
  10. I am really disappointed by merc as well. It seems like all of the other classes have a certain cool ability that makes them standout. I know that one class of sith can go into stealth mode, I know another sith class can yank your butt across a battlefield, and I know that a lot of classes have good stuns. Not mercs though! Our only instant stun has been shunted so that you have to be practically right beside somebody to cast it, and the 3-4 second stun does not give you enough time to get away and cast something. We've been nerfed for so long now, I'm starting to think that the lead programmer's ex-girlfriend played a merc and that she cheated on him, and now he just hates all mercs cause we remind him of her. I dunno, but I hate having to tell new players to avoid making a merc at all cost, unless they want to be the butt of ridicule and shame.
  11. I didn't read all of the replies, so I'm not sure if this was suggested, but when I see someone hanging around working on the same quest(s) that I am, I invite them to a party. More often than not they will accept and we both reap the rewards. We then politely thank each other and separate. Above everything else though, this is a game, and we can work to get along, but even if that doesn't happen, thankfully it isn't the end of the world. That said, it does still suck
  12. Hey so, I know this is potentially a dumb question, but does this program have an trojan/virus/malware/spyware that will screw up my computer? I'm kind of asking the general audience so if any of you have had issues let me know. I don't mean to be a skeptic, I'm just trying to be cautious. This seems like a pretty sweet deal, maybe almost too good to be true
