  1. The boss has a knockback, so if you're not near the middle of the arena, you can get knocked off the stage and die.
  2. I paid for a subscription, but my account in game still says preferred status. The fact that I can even post here means the website recognizes me as a sub right? I know a few people have reported this problem over the years. The responses have mostly been that it takes a few hours for the subscription to kick in. But it's been over a day for me. My account says "You have 28 days of subscription play time remaining." So I've basically lost a day of my subscription. Edit: I called and the issue was resolved in minutes!
  3. I'm queuing for Tactical Flashpoints and marking all the ones available. The daily reward (20 comms) is lit up (when I remove any one flashpoint, it dims out). Moreover, I have the quest "Introduction to Group Finder". I've completed multiple flashpoints now, but I'm not getting the daily reward nor is the intro quest being completed. When I look at the available flashpoints, Black Talon, Blood Hunt, and Battle of Rishi are grayed out. But the screen still says daily reward available.
  4. Hmm would it be a bad idea to have a separate bracket for stealth?
  5. What?? Did I miss a patch where arsenal mercs got buffed? I doubt they can be easy to play when they're the easiest class to shut down. Also as the person above me noted, yes you still have your cooldowns or whatever for the rage mara, but I suspect he was talking about carnage maras, since that's the marauder spec usually used in ranked/competitive play anyways. Also, I don't know about this idea of only needing to bind a few core abilities and doing fine. I mean, I play on a PVE server and to be competitive in regular warzones I have to use everything in my arsenal, so I'd imagine in the PVP servers or something, well...
  6. feel like this thread has been made so many times. There are two options. 1) If your team has a stealth, have them guard (actually a sniper can guard as well. stand a bit far away, let him sap you first, then when he goes for pylon, break cap, cover, entrench). 2) Have two people guard, staying a bit far from the node and out of the LoS (also not next to each other but that should always be a given).
  7. I once had to defend against 4 assassins 2 operatives on voidstar. It was an extremely stressful experience.
  8. slightly off topic, but what spec do you guys usually have your sniper run on which map? Actually in general and more relevant to the topic, what do snipers bring to the table that makes them an asset in ranked teams? I'm asking because I'm a bit new to this game and one of the best teams on my server runs with no snipers.
  9. I'm just curious. What's the team makeup of ranked teams on your server? (I.e. 2 assassins, 2 pts, ops healer, sorc healer, mara, jugg)
  10. http://i.imgur.com/FScyu.jpg anyone know what the gear is in this pic?
  11. Uhh, how do you distinguish between this and someone who's actually just guarding the node with no one coming to hit it?
  12. Man, what is up with these sweeping generalizations? "All premades don't do Ranked just because they want to stomp on PUGS" Is this actually even true? How many people actually feel better after stomping on a team 100-0 than winning an incredibly close game at the last second? It's hard to do Ranked because it's hard for two separate teams to be on with the proper make-up to actually do Ranked and who want do deal with the stress that comes with Ranked. Premades can be like 2 juggs a PT and an assassin.... seems to be missing a lot of roles for ranked...
  13. It really depends on the WZ. You may want to get comfortable with both these specs. MM has good burst damage, so you'd want it in situations where you have to quickly take down a single opponent, i.e., Huttball. Engi has a lot of utility and defensive things along with its AOEs, so it's good for Voidstar, or solo defending a node. It's also good on Novare, where lots of people will be inside the bunkers. So I guess i would suggest learning both, and getting field respec to switch between them depending on the map.
  14. Oh I see. I went for as little endurance as possible while maxing damage. I aimed for about 35% crit and then stacked power. As far as I can tell, you get a choice between crit/power and surge/accuracy, since the lowest endurance mods are crit vs power and the lowest endurance enh are crit+surge, accuracy+power, accuracy+crit, surge+power. So I balanced surge/accuracy, hit 35% crit, and rest power.
  15. http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/80e921f7-aafb-4c27-b51c-a7f21258c35e This is currently what I'm running. Any opinions? Also for the BiS cunning, endurance, whatever, just go on mrrobot and play with the mods/enhancements.
  16. Also, I've seen some people just stick with the base 90 accuracy, since your special attacks in this case have 100% accuracy anyways. Any thoughts on this?
  17. Why wouldn't he be serious? Operative healers are very, very good.
  18. I don't fully agree with everything the OP says, but I do agree with the sentiment. It is indeed really, really hard to do well in a WZ with pugs as a sniper, since you really do need a balanced team. It might be nice if they changed warzone matchmaking to allow for a proper makeup, but then I feel like the queues would just take too long. But I guess what I'm wondering is, why not just join a PVP guild and queue with them? Then you at least have three others who know what they're doing, and then you can be the "support dps" cleaning up the mess your smashers make Also as far as I can tell, Noxxic's builds aren't that great...
  19. So are most of you guys just stacking expertise? Or are you getting it around 1200+ using PVE armorings in bracer and belt and power crystals in sniper rifle and vibroknife?
  20. To be honest, in warzones as a sniper, you'll probably have to be used to switching specs, depending on what your team needs. MM provides the best burst damage, so I believe many people run this for Huttball. On Voidstar, most snipers tend to run engineering, since engineering provides tons of AoEs and very good defensive capabilities. I personally run a 23/16/2 since I like the addition of clusters, which adds a significant amount of burst damage when needed. One of the top snipers on our server runs 2/16/23 cull/cluster. As someone above said, snipers have a variety of viable builds for warzone, so you kinda just have to experiment with what you like best.
  21. Just turn on extended quickbars and keybind everything! I mean you have Q, E, F (I changed cover), Z, X, C, V, the numbers and of course you can add shift+ to them... But yes you will have to use A LOT of buttons. I feel like to get competitive at PVP with any class you would have to do this, though.
  22. I want to give a shoutout to all of Unconquered for PVPing a lot with me and helping me get better, especially Zenod for giving me tips. Also to Alluvian and Merkave for answering my tells when I ask a bunch of questions, and finally to Sage'Optimus for queueing with me a lot. It's easy to be a sniper when you have a marauder wreaking havoc
  23. What you might want to try is Vector/Temple for normal mobs, but when you have to deal with elites/champions, switch to Lokin. That way, you clear normal mobs quicker but also don't get damaged enough that you have to heal up in between fights, and you can also actually beat things in your quest chain.
  24. First of all, snipers have a TOUGH time vs. stealth classes, though we do well against smashers. One thing you have to know about snipers is that on teams, they are support DPS. How good you do depends on the team you have, since good smashers draw the opposing team's attention and leaves you free to burst down low to mid health opponents. So if you're just solo queueing all the time, playing a sniper will be hard/frustrating, but if you're in a good PVP guild, it'll be a lot of fun. MM is pretty easy to play, as you just cycle through targets to find one you can burst down (26/13/2). Engieis a little harder, since that's a defense spec, meaning you'll be guarding nodes, often solo. Don't bother with lethality, as it just breaks teammates' CCs, and there are very few full tanks these days.
  25. I plan to roll a juggernaut and was wondering which spec I should level with. At level 50, I plan on mostly playing as a tank in PVP and maybe a tank in PVE as well, but either way, definitely a tank. That being said, should I level in Immortal spec or is it not worth it? As in, is it better to level in Vengeance spec to get through stuff faster and then switch to Immortal at a higher level (possibly all the way at 50)? Or is it good to level in immortal spec so that I'm used to it?
