  1. Not as a race option for sure. But as a class, expansion class, I could see it work.

Could be an interesting storyline honestly, perhaps have you start off with a master and eventually and slowly claiming some independence. Companions would probably solely have to be other droids though. Or alternatively you could have a ship with your master on it, who eventually dies or some such which would explain why a Droid would have a ship.

I could see it work, but not as a race option because there is no way the current stories would work if the main character was a droid.

  2. Bit of an odd way of wording it with no real purpose.

But you are correct in a sense that those that are level 50 are hugely in the minority. Complaining about a lack of end-game material is kind of what you get when a MMORPG hasn't been out yet for a month. I don't think any other MMO ever had good end-game content within that time (And I've played quite a lot)

But this thread serves no purpose either..

  3. Let's clear up something. WOW had far more freedom to go where you wanted than TOR. Doesn't mean TOR isn't a good game. It is. But let's be honest here.

    This is definitely true.

TOR is much more of a linear experience than WoW by all respects.

I'd say there is a bit more to discover in TOR when exploring, but WoW definitely allowed for more freedom.

  4. I for one would at least want my Legacy tree to show all my choices and consequences that I made during important quests.

Like a giant Mission Log of what you've done.

Not necessarily a reward, but just something I'd love to see. Some important decisions made by members of your Legacy.

  5. well. for the moment even if infact is hard to make new races. i do not understand why not allow for droids? as playable races

Because playing a Droid would be frankly impossible with the way stories are laid out.

Every class quest would have to be redesigned dramatically.

It's not an easy feat. Something that really had to have been added from ground-up, or in the future for expansion classes. (A droid class for example)

  6. What I like is that with Sith and Jedi it is pretty easy to avoid these stereotypes, as I'm not too fond of them myself. With Trooper and Imperial Agent this is not very difficult to do either - the stereotype here is a little vague as it is.

But with Smuggler I wish I could detach myself more from than Han Solo feeling. I like that the option is there, but I'm a little disappointed I can't play him completely different than that. At the end of the day that little Han Solo inspiration always shines through.

  7. I believe this is the Chiss social ability. (They had Salute before but I think they changed this right before or after release)

I was wondering if any other race social abilities did this in another thread. Didn't get any answers in there. Mirialan's meditate ability seems like an obvious one, but I don't know.

  8. I doubt there really is a demographic difference between the two, but from personal experience - so that really doesn't mean much - Empire (I play both sides right now) has some of the worst general chat I've had to witness in a while. Can't think of the times where I was just facepalming at it, and flashpoints seems much less of a social experience so far whereas on Republic I've had mostly good experiences.

But again, I may just have had bad luck on the Empire side.

  9. First game? I take it you haven't played Mass Effect? or dragon age 2?

while I still occasionally come across "***" paraphrase-->response, I have to say, I found myself hitting escape a lot less then I used to hit a reload button in DA2 and ME

I've played almost all BioWare games. I honestly never had that issue in Mass Effect, don't think I ever had it in Dragon Age 2 either. But I know many people did.

But in TOR I just encounter this issue every 3 dialogue options and cancel out. :p

Especially on my Smuggler. Where saying "Hello." often turns into him saying "I want to get into your pants."

  10. Too often and too frequent.

That being said, TOR is the first BioWare game where I often pick something on the dialogue wheel and it turns out to be something completely different as to what I expected. So I blame BioWare for my endless escape pressing! :p

  11. Dont they have to be half half or something? I did that quest awhile ago, but i believe that was the case.

    Nah, that's a different quest.

You should be able to simply target them, use the item in your mission items and then there's a chance they will become friendly and run off or attack you.

A trick you may want to try is attacking them with your companion so that the companion aggros them, then use it. Might solve it if it isn't working normally.

  12. Cross-server LFG tool should never see the light of day. Never.

Anyway, to each their own. Personally I don't feel the need all that much but I can get behind different difficulty levels. In fact, that would solve a lot of the "Hardcore vs Casual" issues. Make various difficulty levels, they could have [2+] and [4+] versions with the latter naturally giving the best rewards. Which shouldn't be something people not willing to spend enough time on interest anyway.

So sure, I'm all for multiple difficulty levels.

But never introduce a cross-server LFG. Just.. Don't.

  13. I suppose this is why Sorcerers are generally considered the best at.. about everything they can do right? Because they are statistically weaker than non-Force classes?

If you had some actual statistics to back up your claims, fair enough, but for now it's just hot air. People saying this class sucks, then that class sucks, this one is OP.. etc. etc.

Yet no one really supports it with simple fact other than their own anecdotes.

I don't see anything that makes non-Force classes better in PvP or PvE from personal experience. Their single target DPS, AoE and survivability seem more than fine to me. In fact, their AoE is way better than Operatives or Scoundrels can do for sure.
