  1. I apologise if I confused you... Rage is now a single target burst spec with reasonable AoE capability, if needed. Rage will perform just as good as Vengeance in most PvE boss fights. The difference is in burst vs. sustained. A lot has changed with 3.0 in that the devs have attempted to balance Rage to be on par with Vengeance and I think they've done a good job of it. Play around with both and go with the spec that best suits your play style.
  2. Rage is so much more enjoyable to play than Vengeance. Gotta love that burst from Raging Burst and Furious Strike...
  3. You make some very interesting points! With regard to using B-lettered mods over unlettered ones for a bit more Endurance, is the DR on mitigation stats so punishing that endurance is actually favoured for a certain stat budget? I've always been under the impression that mitigation is almost ALWAYS better than endurance? There's also the fact that B-lettered mods have slightly less Strength than unlettered ones, meaning your Sonic Barrier absorbs more damage when using the unlettered mods.
  4. From my experience with my Fury Marauder and experimenting with my Juggernaut spec'd to Rage, I'm really loving the changes that have come for the spec in 3.0! In 2.X, it was a very AoE-focused spec that was useful for only certain PvE fights involving lots of adds, eg Draxus, Grob'thok, Dread Master Bestia, and I found myself only using it sparingly. With 3.0, the spec has been changed from an AoE Burst spec into a Single Target Burst spec. Rage Juggernauts and Fury Marauders gain access to two new abilities in the form of Raging Burst and Furious Strike - both of which hit like a truck! Although the AoE aspect of the spec has been nerfed considerably, Smash is still applicable in situations with more than a single enemy. Smash has been changed in that it hits more than 5 targets now and you don't require a target to use it, which makes it very useful! I think in terms of DPS, Rage Juggernauts don't hit as hard as Fury Marauders, but the loss in damage is a gain in utility and survivability over the latter. Rage Juggernauts definitely have much higher DPS than Immortal Juggernauts though I haven't compared the DPS output of Rage and Vengeance, as I'm not familiar with Vengeance, but I'm assuming Vengeance will have higher overall DPS (just like Annihilation does over Fury, for Marauders). I really suggest becoming proficient at BOTH specs, as there are situations where one is better than the other and you'll be able to perform well in all kinds of fights TL;DR - I think Rage Juggernauts will be able to perform quite well in PvE, especially in boss fights involving adds or regular target switching. I suggest using BOTH Vengeance and Rage, depending on the fight.
  5. As the others have said, wait until the endgame before focusing on doing some solid gearing
  6. Fury actually has higher overall DPS than Carnage (the devs said it themselves) and has some damn crazy burst. Have to say that Carnage was my preferred spec for 2.X, but I hated the 3.0 changes. Loving how they made Rage into a single target spec. After doing a bit of parsing on my Juggernaut spec'd to Rage and my Fury Marauder, I have to say there's a HUGE difference in damage output... You gain survivability and more utility with the former, but sacrifice high DPS for that. In response to the spec being "boring", I have to disagree. Although the spec's ability priorities are much simpler than the other specs, I still haven't found myself wanting to switch spec during an operation, flashpoint or dailies. I have to agree with the OP in that there's not enough love for this spec...
  7. NOT MANY* Sorry mate... Couldn't help myself LOL. In all seriousness, sitting through cutscenes waiting for someone to hit spacebar can get just a tad annoying when you've grinded through the flashpoint a MILLION TIMES... People can always go back to a flashpoint and solo them at higher levels if they so wish to really get into the story. I was lucky enough to play through the whole levelling process co-operatively with a friend, so I never had someone yelling at me to spacebar, unless the story was overly boring to begin with or if we wanted to rush through to get some exp points.
  8. Devastating Blast is a Level 57 ability for Carnage Marauders and Fury Marauders get the Furious Strike ability at Level 57.
  9. I think it's a bug. Silvers seem to be hitting much much harder now. BW said they fixed it, but I'm not 100% sure they did -.-
  10. Xenotech Weaponmaster's Vest was removed from the loot tables.
  11. I think with Devastating Blast they should've taken the existing Force Scream animation and made it even more intense... Not a fan of the use of lightsabers in a force ability.
  12. I think having tanking stats below or above the 'recommended' numbers posted by KeyboardNinja won't affect you too much and you won't notice much of a difference in your survivability. Also, don't worry too much about endurance. Endurance is probably the last stat you want to consider, unless you're coming up against a boss that hits like a truck! When gearing up my juggernaut, I focus on pushing my mitigation as high as possible, but also making sure that I keep all of my stats balanced - IMO it's not good to overstack one stat too much, unless the boss fight requires it. Having a balanced set of stats is best IMO, because it means you can respond to a wider set of bosses with different damage type output.
  13. I leveled my Immortal Juggernaut back in May and I ran in full tanking gear. I have to admit, it took much longer to kill mobs than it would've if I was in DPS gear, but I was easily able to take on quests 3-5 levels above me and I was raking in a ton of experience points!
  14. Vengeance, unlike Rage, lacks many talents which boost surge by a noticeable amount. This means critical rating is less useful and so Overkill Augments are very minutely better than Might Augments. If you've already augmented your gear with Might Augments, don't go wasting your credits on Overkill Augments though - the difference is very very small. In the long run, with new level cap increases, Overkill Augments will become much more superior to Might Augments.
  15. Lol. The Sith Marauder/Jedi Sentinel forums seem to be full of complaints... I personally haven't had any issues with survivability and I'm enjoying the 3.0 changes Good job BW
  16. I'm gonna have to disagree with your comment on Carnage burst being better than Fury. I feel that Carnage's sustained DPS has been buffed and it's burst has been nerfed quite considerably. Raging Blast, Furious Strike and Ravage hit like a truck, especially when a Cascading Power window is up and Berserk has been popped. Carnage was my preferred spec pre-3.0, but I love Fury so much more now that it's a single target spec.
  17. I know pre 3.0 Vicious Slash did more damage, but I was under the impression that with the 25% damage boost it actually hits harder per target than Vicious Slash does? I've also found Sweeping Slash deals slightly more threat than Vicious Slash also, so it's more useful using it to keep agro on targets. But yeah, using Vicious Slash when you have excess rage is a good idea.
  18. From my experience of tanking the Level 60 operations, I'm loving the 3.0 changes to the Immortal spec. Just some tips: Aegis Assault is now the replacement ability for Sundering Assault. It gives the same amount of rage (edit: one more rage than Sundering Assault), but also gives a 3% buff to damage reduction and a 3% buff to Shield Absorption. They removed the armour debuff from the tank spec to give people more reason to bring Juggernaut DPS along for ops. Crushing Blow is now your hardest hitting ability. It also reduces your target's Force/Tech damage by 5%. I always use this after Aegis Assault, as it becomes an AoE ability if you have the Aegis Assault buff. You should be using Sweeping Slash a LOT more now, due to the 25% damage boost from one of the Juggernaut utilities. I use this when I have excess Rage, even in single target situations. In PvP Sweeping Slash puts a 20% healing debuff on your targets. Crushing Blow and Smash both hit up to 8 targets now (up from 5) which makes a huge difference when trying to hold agro on multiple enemies. Smash and Sweeping Slash put a 5% accuracy debuff on targets (which essentially buffs your defense chance by 5%) With Retaliation, although it's now on the GCD, it hits much harder! As in 2.0, Retaliation grants a 5% buff to defense chance. Hope you come to enjoy the changes
  19. Just to give you an idea of the 3 Marauder specs; Annihilation — Sustained spec Carnage — Hybrid spec, sustained damage with some burst Fury — Burst spec I would suggest learning them all, as each is good for certain situations. Annihilation is generally best for longer fights where you're sticking to a single target for long periods of time. Fury is best for short fights, or fights where you're changing targets regularly. Carnage is good for both situations.
  20. Gonna miss pulling massive crits with Smash But I do think the changes they implemented on the spec are good. Rage was an excellent spec to use in AoE-heavy fights like Draxus or Corruptor Zero, but in other fights Rage could not compete with other specs that were more orientated towards single target. Although Smash has been nerfed pretty badly, Raging Blast hits LIKE A TRUCK.
  21. I haven't had the chance to try out the new Carnage, as my client is taking FOREVER to download the patch.... I'm assuming that with the recent changes to alacrity, Carnage Marauders will be able to utilise their 3-second gore window more efficiently.
  22. The first reply is correct. In carrying out the Shadow of Revan storyline, you'll have a choice between operations and assembling an army to take on Revan, this'll be done through dailies etc Solo mode is only available for Forged Alliances and the two new Level 60 Flashpoints, Bloodhunt and Battle for Rishi.
  23. And that's probably exactly what these sorts of people are doing. They probably haven't taken the time to read guides or even read tooltips. It's stupid, I know, but that's what people are doing.
