  1. Wrote a ticket and received a reply. Apparently It is a Bug that is meant to be patched out soon. Alas, they know of it, just haven't addressed it yet.
  2. Bump for great justice. Still relevant, I'm having the same issue. All my decorations from the Heroics are running on that timer, and I can't sell them on the GTN
  3. Tbh, a good handful of your points follow this formula; New content > I don't like the new content > Not going to play it. That's the argumentative basic chain you're throwing around with your argument. But it in no way solidifies KOTFE as 'boring'. To you perhaps, but there's many that enjoy the Alliance system, that you're building yourself this little group of 20-something Followers that you can seperately level and take with you on missions. I think one of the biggest problems is that people expect genuine novelty from established games. An established game will very rarely, most likely never bring 'full novelty' into the fray through an 'expansion' (Key note; Expansion. Expanding the existing game, not creating a new one.). And if it does, people straight-out **** on it, complaining it's 'a pointless grind'. Maybe you ought to realize that what you want isn't a 'good SWTOR expansion'. you just want to play a new game. EDIT: Oh and as for the storyline complains. It's star wars. Star wars lives and breathes old cliches because it's entirely wrapped up in the evil/light conflict of Goodies vs baddies. And infact, this expansion is actually original in that aspect in that it introduced a third party that in it's nature is not alligned with either light nor dark sides, but seems to represent more of a neutral ground.
  4. You can solo all Star Fortress Heroics with companions. It's only time intensive as the damage-output is a bit too low. Upside = All loot goes to you. Infact, you can even Solo most mobs in the SF Heroics with a DPS/DPS set, aslong as you switch to healers on the Paladins/ Gold enemies/ Exarchs
  5. Has anyone considered if there might be an actual reason for all these changes beyond 'lulzeasy game Companions 4 unkilled people lelelel'? EA and Bioware probably have it in their interest to attract new players, paying players. Now, With each level cap increase, and the bigger the old content to level becomes, the longer it takes to even participate in the highest, most active bracket of the game (Which is usually Raiding / Endgame PVP). To take WoW for an example ; WoW would be incredibly discouraging for any new players if they had to grind through every single expansions original play-time and leveling requirements. If Bosses where as difficult as they used to be, gear was as it used to, skills where as they used to, you'd have far less people willing to subscribe based on the fact that to reach that upper echelon you'd need around a year, if not longer. Same principle applies for SWTOR. You don't want to discourage new players by keeping previous content too long/difficult just to appease those who have 'gone through it', so they can have their marginal 'Im So l33t for being 65 and u not' feeling. Personally I enjoy the new Companion dynamic. Before I could just blast through all low level planets spamming exactly one ability. Now I can blast through them by sicking one companion on them. Pretty much nothing has changed in that regard. They just shifted damage output from you, the high-leveled figure towards your companion.
  6. Using my magical precognition skills; alas, Guessing outta my ***; I presume another 30 minutes up to maximally 2 hours.
  7. They Patched the game. Just incorrectly, lol. Also, I was certain that maintanence ends in 1 hour, not in 1 minute. But as the bloke above me said ; Winter-timezone shift.
  8. To be honest the only smart move here would've been directing his/her energy towards EA/Customer Service at phone and what not. In my personal experience Customer service in SWTOR isn't that bad especially if you do not try to talk to them like a demanding, condescending 'IM A CUSTOMER WORSHIP ME' attitude. For example, I once had mistakenly paid for a subscription on the wrong account (I had two registered, one when I was F2P and another when I went Sub), and they easily switched it over. The same way with granted Cartel Coins. I wouldn't be surprised if there would be a degree of leniency towards people that missed a day in a 3 month pre-payment necessity for access.
  9. I doubt we have to download the game again (for those that already patched) The way I read it, there's a problem 'with' the patch we have downloaded, alas they are now adjusting said problem / recompiling the patch / re-uploading it. At which point we will be able to download the 'fixed' version of the patch. If not I presume everyone who has DLed the patch already is boned lol.
  10. It's not obnoxious. People that make that type of living either learned to treat their income well and 'earned' said major paycheck through years of dedicated hard work and knowing how to handle money, or had it handled to them on a silver spoon by mommy and daddy. Those in the first category would 'never' spend 1000 bucks for a virtual game where that money could be spend elsewhere and actually make them a profit, whereas those silver spoon kids with said income just spend money they don't really deserve. Take a look at the majority of self-made milloinaires or business men. They wont even nickle out a 10 bucks tip on a cafe, you think they'll net out 1000 bucks on virtual game currency?
  11. I rather believe they just have a healthy sense of 'not giving a damn' over complaints unless they're game breaking. Besides, I am pretty sure there are actual behavorial guidelines for EA/Bioware staff when it comes to posting on official Forums. There's a certain way they're only allowed to react, reply, and behave on the forums, and it shows throughout any form of post they make. It has nothing to do with personal-stress tolerance, it is more of a 'business conduct' requirement that they must display when acting on behalf of EA/Bioware.
  12. @ OP. If you are happy about what Bioware supplies you with for your money, then that's nice. However, if other people have other sentiments about it is is within their full right to voice that. Some people value their money differently, and expect different things for it. To voice that is perfectly legal and infact a right anyone should take note of. If they have valid gripes about updates and the likes, it's their right to voice that. That is called 'Feedback', and not 'whiney kids complaining'. Also, if you have an issue with the demographic of young people playing this game, I think that the issue aren't those 'whiney kids' complaints, but the fact that you can't arrange yourself with the fact that you ARE playing with teenagers and the likes, and not just likewise, probably middle-aged men.
  13. There's nothing to refute. Your point stands in your own way because you say : as a sub, you're entitled to, quote: unlimited access to the functional portion of the game ie level, zones, credits, crafting, abilities, pvp, pve. Now your definition of 'functional portion' of the game differs from mine. I consider everything the game consists off, that is implemented through patches and what not, to be a 'functional portion' of the game. That is what I subscribe for, to receive updates on the game, to support the company in order to supply me with said updates, for the money I am already paying, and not to release something to yet again charge me. @ The WoW argument. WoW is the grandfather of successful MMO's. you cannot take it's pricings for appearance changes and compare them to SWTOR, simply because WoW NEVER went Free to play officially. You can play it to a certain level as a trial, yes, but the game never was Fully Free-to-play. So it's only natural they charge you more for their services. If you want to create a fair comparison, take a look at the other MMO's, and how their implemented customization options (And or updated customization options) work, and tell me with a straight face that what EA is charging us with here is a justifiable amount of CC/Real money. In other MMO's, you get these features for free, or for ingame pricings that are very much afforadable even at low levels. Champions Online and COH are perfect examples of implemented customization, It allowed for post-creation customization for ingame credits, and the variety there was extensive. In Guild Wars ,another 'F2p' model MMO, it's implemented through an option to pay with their premium currency 'or' credits. SWTOR is one of those only high-profile F2P mmo's that wants to get away for charging you with an implemented game feature. Now before you reply to this, I'll try to make this perfectly clear again. Please refrain from this 'you point is stupid, stop complaining' mentality that seems to have spread like a cancer amongst people here. These forums where made for us to voice our opinion on the game, on the updates, and the likes. This is what we're doing here now, and if you disagree, you can say that and just give reasons to why you're disagreeing. But honestly, I'm not going to respond to peoples innate desires to argue with me over a personal Opinion and my sense of entitlement versus their justifications for EA/Bioware.
  14. I'd disagree there. I wasn't voicing issues with 'Makeb' being an expansion you have to pay for, I merely made the comparison that the newly implemented features cost as much as that expansion, and that only at an one-time use. There should always be a certain balance between the money you spend and the things you receive. Also, a few posts ago somebody mentioned they're considering just 'coining' in on their stuff instead to subscribe. I personally feel as if this is what EA pushes for. Consider, if this trend continues, that will net them far more money per person then anything else. At the end of the day, this entire patch was, and is, a pure Cartel Market expansion, charging both Subscriber and F2P players for a service that, in it's own nature, should be for free or atleast obtainable for ingame credits for subs. Again, I completely understanding taxing the 'new hair parts and packs', but to implement a customization feature with the stipend that you can only use it spending real money on it, and everytime you do use it costs you money, it really hampers, and quite literally, ruins the feature. The reasons simple too. something like a customization feature is meant to be used often, to change your characters appearance while you progress, especially when you're a roleplayer. To try and cash in on that is just straightout money-grubbing, and has nothing to do with ehtical business practices. Again, an one time unlock for the shop at 500 CC would've made far more sense then what we have now.
  15. Get out here with that nonsense. If pricetags would scare us we wouldn't subscribe to the game in the first place. There's a difference in unwillingness to pay, and unwillingness to pay for unfair services. This is such a case.
  16. To use the term 'free' coins already makes no sense. In order ot receive them one must pay. Period. Whether it's directly for them, or through a bundle and thus get awarded 500+ a month. Moreso, direct purchase of 500 coins costs 4 EUR, with larger sums getting discounts. So you can take the 4 EUR mark as the 'baseline price' for cartel coins. So technically, you don't get free coins. you pay 11 bucks subscription and 4 EUR cartel Coins. Also, Again, Nowhere in my post did I say I cannot afford it. This isn't a 'whiny' topic about how 'I can't afford cartel items, this **** sucks' but it's simply a wake up call over the fact that this newly implemented system, as it is, asks a bit too much in an overall barely justifiable, but justifiable system nonethenless. Infact, If I 'felt like it', I could easily purchase the highest Cartel Coin pack on a whim, considering I earn my own living. In the end, just take it by face value. Some people do not like to spend their money lightly on things. I am one of them. Whether you now wish to see Cartel Coins as 'gifted', paid for, or tokens from the cherry sky doesn't matter. At the end of the day you pay for it, at the end of the day you have certain expecations for that money you're supposed to pay.
  17. Nobody has called this 'game-breaking' in this thread, at all. How you perceive your money to be well spent is your own choice. Also, to clarify. It is not 'things like this' that make 'this game work' and 'keep it alive'. 'Things like this', as in this update, are the STANDARD for any alive MMO. They get updated, they get new content, sometimes major, sometimes minor, sometimes full expansions. What makes 'this game work' and 'keeps it alive' Isn't people buying Cartel Coins or spending Cartel Coins. What keeps this game alive is a Company called EA. A Company that decided to implement such features at a price in order to tax you for more profits through new features to pay for. Not because they need the cash desperately to pay for their employees or to keep this game alive. But because they run this game as a 'business model' as opposed to what it is, a Videogame.
  18. If maximum profit becomes the only goal in Videogames, I will stop playing them. I grew up in times where videogames where published to make children happy, and to supply oldschool gamers with products they love. at a fair price, that netted those that worked for it money, and then so more, and then that was that. Also, In a way I don't believe that EA will drop SWTOR at any given time. Even if this MMO is flawed, it's still SW, and look how long it took SWG to die. The question is just how far this money grubbing system will go, and how much people will really get for their subscription fees. I mean, right at this point I personally wonder if the subscription fees are worth it if every single, valuable new content will be simply taxed with more cartel coin input, forcing my monthly payment to exceed 15 EUR for this game. @Shingara I didn't even tackle the topic of Collections because that one is so f-worded up that I didn't even pay a seconds attention to it. Atleast not once I heard ' every inter-character unlock costs cartel coins "
  19. Thanks for all the comments. Also, yeah, this is one of the first times since playing SWTOR ( I just resubscribed a few weeks ago) where yet again, I feel badly discouraged. This feature had me seriously riled up, and that postively at first. I frequent Ebon Hawk, the RP server, and this would've been a nearly invaluable tool for the entire roleplaying community. But I outright refuse to pay such nonsensical sums, Especially if I'm already a Subscriber and by that, should be entitled to all the games functions. Honestly, I could've even stomached if unlocking this feature would've cost like 400-500 Cartel coins. Then I could atleast say they're trying to 'screw us honestly', by charging everyone for an implement feature. But that charge would've atleast been one time. Another point I forgot to mention is that so far, Cartel Coins always gave you something of 'steady' value. You purchased something with it, and got something in return. whether it was a set of items, set of consumables, or what not. This Kiosk on the otherhand implemented a feature with the sole purpose of burning through Coins, at a constant (and even rapid rate for those that'd like to use this tool more frequently). I'd even go asfar as to say that this starts feeling like second life, where you could just purchase virtual looks.
  20. Alright, before I start, I'd like to add that this is simply a topic where I want to share my personal opinion regarding the Appearance Customization Vendor that was now implemented (along the new hairstyles etc). I personally believe it's been a bad move on Biowares side, and here's why. Most of us can agree on the fact that, since F2P hit shelves, the Cartel Market was always a form of luxury. Items and the likes that you obtained through it where simply just that, luxury items you did not require, and that did not unbalance the game in any way for you. (except some of the crystals maybe.) All game mechanics that where implemented prior, and post the F2P release, where all accessible for Subscribers still, thus making this, in my opinion, the only 'valid' F2P transition in a long time. However this Appearance Customization Vendor in my eyes is just an insult to any subscriber in my eyes, and here's why. Being a Subscriber has one fundamental function. It means that, through paying the monthly fee, you get access too all the features the game provided, or provides, for said fee. That is why we pay that monthly fee in the first place. The cartel market, so far, has not hampered with this one bit, right until tonight with the 2.1 patch. The Appearance Customization kiosk is somewhat of a 'first step' in a literal '**** you' direction to subscribers. Yes, I'm getting a bit drastic here. However, in the end, this is the first time SWTOR has received a new feature in it's long list of updates that, instead to be freely accessible by Subscribers (which in my opinion should've been a right-out standard thing to do), we instead are forced to pay for it through cartel coins. Now the fact we're meant to spent cartel coins on it isn't the end of the world. Even with that measly allowance of 4 EUR we're given, it should surface for the purchase of new material. However, and here comes the catch, it doesn't. The way the shops set up now, it's a limitless cash-sink cow with no other purpose then to exploit you of your cartel coins, for a function about every MMO under the sun (F2P or Subbed) provided in atleast some variety for free, or through ingame credits. For those interested in the actual math. If you take it by face value, to use all that has been implemented with the newest 'customization' patch (By that I mean the cathar race, the new customization parts and an one time alteration of all slides) you end up paying more then a thousand cartel coins. 1050 Cartel coins are the equivalent of 8 EUR. I'll make that bold to underline my point. The Customization options, with an ONE TIME USE of all sliders, costs you MORE then the entire EXPANSION RothC. Even less so, it certainly just shoots in the wrong direction. We've been given customization option at a nonsensical price. It may not seem much to you ,but you roughly throw out ~50 Cent with each time you move and move 'one' slide. I'll let you do the rough math on the rest. Honestly, to change your appearance once completely costs you probably 5-6 EUR for absolute nonsense. And don't even compare this to other mmo's charging fees. Other MMO's provide these features for free, (Except Race change) and that one's overcharged here aswell. Now, I know some will still defend EA for being a 'Business trying to make money', But seriously, this is below bad marketing. To implement FEATURES, not luxury items (as it's been the case with the Cartel Market so far), that charge you the equivalent of REAL MONEY each time you move them, is simply retarded. Honestly, for 'what' unearthly reason would we, now, use this tool? some will do it just to burn through those cartel coins they have, but honestly, I personally am more then sure that I will not even take a second look at this tool unless the pricing is drastically lowered. I fully understand and endorse the one-time unlock fee on the parts, but to charge you for every slider motion is just nonsense. They've literally taxed a feature of the game now. A feature Subscribers literally 'have' an entlitlement to, as being a subscriber is just that, being entitled to the full use of all of the games features. thats my 2 cents on this topic. Enjoy.
  21. Lol. True jedi have been pictured right in SW, and kill mostly , if at all, in self defense. To defeat an opponent that is attacking and trying to directly harm you is not an act of darkness, even if emotions are involved (Which isn't the most favorable result, but still valid). Some people take the 'pacifist' angle on Jedi too far. Pacifism doesn't mean that you simply stand-down when attacked. On another note. the Self-chastity of emotions that Jedi go through is a noble exercise in futility. While they may gain extraordinary control over their emotions, there are some they would never lose. Such as emotions bound by natural instincts. Most jedi probably knew that their code was but a guideline to necessary and important self improvement and self-limitation, and not a strict word-by-word doctrine. Sometimes things had to be done differently and Jedi respected that aswell. Case in Point Mace Windu trying to kill Sidious' ***, Yoda decapitating the clones with little to no concern, Obi Wan cutting off the better half of Darth Maul (get it?), Jedi promote complete thoughtfulness, not complete chastity from violence. Because there's a place and time for everything, even violent response.
  22. We're talking about star wars here. WoW had a generally cartoonish feel since it's earliest conception and WC2 onwards, whereas SW always had a realistic touch in any of it's books, games and fiction UNTIL the Clone wars series came out. The Idea to introduce a 'cartoonish' style would've been far too outlandish for SW in that regard, with no regards whether WoW was cartoonish or not. Even if the Idea to make TOR like WoW in style sprung from the fact that WoW 'is' cartoonish, the fact that it's already been done through CW probably solidified the idea as something 'that can work'.
  23. Kinect is actually BETTER, yes, better then CW. Kinect counts to those 'we don't take ourselves so seriously' SW products, like the christmas special or that Ewok planet offshoot starring kids fighting a nightsister. CW tries to sell itself as a valid addition to SW lore.
  24. I don't like Clone Wars at all. Reasons are pretty simple. Star wars as such gave you a specific idea over the galaxy and individuals in it. This certain vibe was never ammended, or altered, NOT even by most of the EU material. It still maintained this 'SW Charme', where things seemed a bit out of place. Surreal. It had a charme like no other series. Clone Wars turned it into an action show for Kids. And if not for clone wars, SWTOR would've never ended up with the art-style it has, infact i'm sure that if not for CW, we'd have a far more realistic looking SWTOR. But that's the minor issue with it. Clone Wars feels redundant and pointless. You know exactly what will happen a few years from now on, how anything these characters will do will affect the outcome of the galaxy. It's simply without any suspense if you know already that 'Obi Wan / Anakin survive, none of the major cast dies and the results are already determined.' Where's the suspense in that? What's the point in watching a War which' conclusion you already know? The only viable interest people might have is in the newly introduced characters, but then again, what point is there to cheer for the fate of characters who's involvement in the large picture will end up minute? Ahsoka Tano will never have any major importance in the generic SW storyline, nor will any other of the Clone Wars introduced characters. They just fill a time-space undefined by Lucas, simply because he himself considered it too boring to be included in a movie. That alone should make you realize that CW was doomed to be a lackluster rendition of SW storytelling. The entire Artstyle of CW is simply hideous. I don't really enjoy watching cardboard Box faces talking, in a world which remembers you more of a cheap 90's cartoon rather then Star Wars. I remember going to the cinema on the CW pilot only to be so majorly disappointed that I vowed never to watch anything in relation to CW again. I broke that promise because everyone was telling me how awesome it was, only to get disappointed once more. Asajj Ventress becoming a major player? Please, she was the muster child of cannon fodder Dark Jedi, now they're making her out to be some epic warrior. Darth Maul returning? Demeaned the value of Episode I in it's entirety. Mauls Death served as prime example of how a Jedi can triumph over darkness if he lets' himself be led by the light, and how light conquers darkness as such. CW Went on to take a fudge on that symbolism a la 'lol he never died'. Now the biggest reason why I don't watch CW, at all. Is Ahsoka Tano. The Jedi NEVER trusted Anakin entirely, they knew of his personal conflicts, of the depth of his issues, and the ONLY Jedi that ever stood entirely behind him was his master, becaused he vowed so to Qui Gon. If not for Obi Wan, the Jedi wouldn't have indoctrinated Anakin in first place. Even after he earned his reputation later on, He was still not considered a master, neither respected as such. ..And they give 'that' guy a student to teach? Seriously? That's insulting to about every major Master character in the entire SW universe at that period. 'Oh hey let's give the angry kid a student to screw up'. I'm sorry, but CW as such is nothing else for me then a story build on lazy excuses and plotholes in order to create a money-making machine to milk the young kids that wheren't around when the original SW hit the screen. and it's 'dark' tone is nothing else then an attempt to interest the slightly older audiences aswell. Perhaps I'm just a hater, but it's still my opinion that CW is by far the worst thing to ever hit star wars.
