  1. You're going to need to be able to play at least 2 specs with some degree of proficiency if you want to be useful in a group / maximize you DPS output according to the fight. I personally run Hybrid and Marksmanship, and tend to steer away from Lethality and Engineering due to the almost constant need to be in melee range to execute your DPS to its full potential. Hybrid has slightly higher single-target DPS output and is a bit friendlier towards movement than MM, so for fights which are predominantly single-target or have few rapid target switches (Nefra, Grob'thok, Bestia, Tyrans, Raptus) I almost always run hybrid. Marksmanship has slightly lower single-target DPS output but can change targets much more quickly and fluidly and has more in the way of defensive abilities than hybrid, so for fights with target-switching or high damage phases (Draxus, Corruptor Zero, Bestia, Calphayus, Dread Masters) I almost always run MM. Hope that helps.
  2. Raptus Falador - Vengeance Juggernaut - Pax Fatalis - 2415.49 http://www.torparse.com/a/589464/21/0/Damage+Dealt Got ported 3 times..
  3. I'm not sure anymore, he really likes to go against the grain.
  4. I don't want to burst your bubble, but the exceptional crits on the parse (specifically to Series of Shots) don't really make that an accurate representation of MM. 3.5-3.6 is more accurate imo. I agree with Afieri... once mercenaries are 'fixed' then single-target DPS amongst RDPS classes will be mostly even, with sorcs falling slightly behind. Snipers still easily have less AoE damage output than sorcs and mercs.
  5. I'm greatly amused by this thread... hahaha
  6. Your opening rotation isn't ideal in that it does not take advantage of your hardest hitting abilities, and I implore you to open your mind to new alternatives. ArchangelLBC offered a very sincere suggestion to improve your opener and your response comes off as a bit rude. There are some very experienced gunslingers who've parsed extensively and determined the best opening rotation for SS. It is not the monstrosity that you suggested. So you know how you implored us to parse your opening rotation? I did 2 sequences of it and here's the log. http://www.torparse.com/a/586838/time/1392049543/1392049586/0/Damage+Dealt 113k damage in 43 seconds for 2618 DPS. Bum. 2 sequences (shorter, actually) of an opening rotation almost identical to what ArchangelLBC suggested. http://www.torparse.com/a/586838/time/1392049644/1392049680/0/Damage+Dealt 132k damage in 36 seconds for 3686 DPS. I can go into detail as to why your opening rotation parses significantly lower, but the logs say it all as far as I'm concerned. Your rotation does not work well, and before you knock the suggestions other people have and suggest that they should check the numbers, it might be better for you to check the numbers.
  7. Hi Zahik. Important to note that in some situations it isn't as black and white as that, such as when there are buffs to crit chance or surge in the trees. Marksman/Sharpshooter has massive surge buffs to a few key abilities which may make crit more desirable to a certain degree.
  8. I'll give it a shot, I've been trying to tidy up that GCD of filler. Falador - Sith Juggernaut - Vengance - 4/36/6 - 4'34.23s - 3647.81 Log: http://www.torparse.com/a/585566/time/1392037798/1392038072/0/Overview AMR: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/3104f065-3ed6-4837-a5e1-08b68efe1ea5 I had all my enhancements listed as 28s and not 34s on my AMR... fixed it now lol.
  9. You just have to manually select the combat start and end time to include the killing blow, like so. http://www.torparse.com/a/583173/time/1391854707/1391854977/0/Damage+Dealt (P.S. That crit on takedown is unreal, I envy you)
  10. Raptus Sharpshooter - http://www.torparse.com/a/585523/37/0/Damage+Dealt
  11. Gomerik - Gunslinger - Dirty Fighting - 5/5/36 - 4'31.486s - 3684.89 Log: http://www.torparse.com/a/584556/time/1391880213/1391880484/0/Overview
  12. Some impressive DF/Lethality parses which I don't think I'll be able to touch at my APM without some good RNG. Gomerik - Gunslinger - Dirty Fighting - 5/5/36 - 4'31.486s - 3684.89 Log: http://www.torparse.com/a/584556/time/1391880213/1391880484/0/Overview AMR: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/8559d6eb-e5ab-41aa-ac4c-0e36fcc329bd Probably won't reparse until I get bumped from the leaderboard...
  13. For starters, the parse you linked is 3210, not 3343. Secondly, you need to manually select the start and finish time of the log to include the killing blow. http://www.torparse.com/a/583184/12/0/Overview 3224 DPS
  14. Just bumping this thread so it doesn't get buried. Looking forward to an ETA for a fix.
  15. I don't think you know quite how much you're gimping your usefulness in a group setting by not taking Diversion. It's an extraordinarily useful ability and becomes even more essential as you go into HM and NiM content. If you don't raid seriously then it won't make a difference, but personally I remove 1 point from Debilitating Shots and put that in Diversion (along with removing 1 point from Vital Regulators and putting that into Corrosive Microbes).
  16. You seem very butthurt about the dotsmash spec LOL
  17. The main issues I have with the nerf is more about timing than anything else. To release it alongside a huge buff for scoundrels/operatives, who were already one of the better DPS classes, is a huge slap in the face. Furthermore to not address other classes which need to be balanced (i.e. nerf pyro, buff assassins) is a huge oversight, compounded by how heavy handed the nerf was. Snipers have gone from (on average) third best DPS to third worst dps (maybe tied with sorcs) and even though we still have more utility, it's a big change. The problem with making orbital's damage negligible is that not only is our single-target potential reduced but we're left with next to no effective AoE; sweeping gunfire and thermal grenade are all low damage for a high energy cost, corrosive grenade is good but is a bleed effect. Do I feel a bit hard done by? Yes. Am I going to reroll? No. You have to bear in mind that class balancing is an ongoing process, and it's almost certain that the next change to snipers (whenever that happens) will be a buff of some sort.
  18. Need to take a break from parsing for a few days... I still can't touch Volcom's DF output though. Gomerik - Gunslinger - Dirty Fighting - 5/5/36 - 4'32.926s - 3663.61 Log: http://www.torparse.com/a/578709/time/1391598138/1391598411/0/Overview AMR: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/8559d6eb-e5ab-41aa-ac4c-0e36fcc329bd
