  1. If you've been undercut by a lot, the best thing to do is buy their item and sell it back at your price. As long as they've undercut you by more than 6% you can make a profit from their undervaluing of the item.
  2. Looks like pulse cannon is a little bit OP
  3. Last time this guide was updated was 4 months ago. In 78 gear, crit rating is useful to a point; I personally take 168 critical rating which is + 3.26%. Crit is good up to the 200s now, but power always takes priority when you're gearing up.
  4. Solid guide, pretty much covers everything you need to know. Hybrid was my favored spec way before 2.0 and you live and die by the priorities between your two Wounding Shots. It helps to be proficient as SS though, since bosses like Brontes are unforgiving toward DoT specs. Hybrid is and always will be stronger single-target spec, but suffers with all target changes and burst requirements
  5. I take Kneecappin' over Heads Up, mainly just to get the points to Blaster Volley. As far as I'm concerned it doesn't really matter which of the two you take, althought Heads Up could be useful if you're kiting Raptus in the Dread Council fight, but it's a bad idea to run SS for that role anyway. Kneecappin' also might have some usefulness in a fight like Corruptor Zero, for keeping one add in an AoE instead of it running out to its target; likewise, the usefulness is limited. It makes no difference in my opinion, take whichever you want.

  7. They're passing a bill in the senate next week to make it a $250 fine so you should kill the flagged lowbies while you still can.
  8. You have too much surge, you should have accuracy and surge in equal measure. That's been the best way of gearing for a long long time. Stacking anywhere between 100 and 200 points of crit in 78 gear is a good idea, for an extra 3-4%.

  10. I can see how having laze target affect a separate ability will help, but putting it on a longer cooldown is just taking a step backwards, granted it'd be a bonus for PvP but have little to no effect, if not a minus, for PvE. I'm all for changing Laze Target/Smuggler's Luck but I'd rather throw a few more ideas around to try and find a better solution. I want to see some changes to LT/SL but this one is still underwhelming for me.
  11. Gear profile is full augmented 72s. The only Kell Dragon piece I have is the Cerulean Nova relic which I only used on the Dread Guard kill. The Writhing Horror 8-Man NiM 3121.95 DPS - Gomerik - The Ex-Dalborran Elitists - Gunslinger - Sharpshooter - 36/3/7 http://www.torparse.com/a/386814/time/1376650209/1376650499/0/Overview For this fight I trimmed the ending (~30 seconds) since combat persisted despite the boss dying. This can be verified since the total damage (906,131) is the same in the full log for this fight. Dread Guards 8-Man NiM 2431 DPS - Gomerik - The Ex-Dalborran Elitists - Gunslinger - Sharpshooter - 36/3/7 http://www.torparse.com/a/386814/16/0/Damage+Dealt Operator IX 8-Man NiM 2147.52 DPS - Gomerik - The Ex-Dalborran Elitists - Gunslinger - Sharpshooter - 36/3/7 http://www.torparse.com/a/386814/time/1376656408/1376656927/0/Damage+Dealt Edited the log to start when the blue button was clicked, taking 48 seconds off the beginning. If this isn't considered valid I can provide the entire log but this will lower my DPS since the recognizers don't appear on my screen until the third one spawns.
  12. Yes, very close race for the last day or two indeed. Congratulations Galnar, you definitely deserve it... I'm very grateful for all the votes and the nominations!
  13. Thought I'd check in with the thread even if it's been a bit quiet over the past week or two. I finally got a chance to do some serious NiM raiding and was running with the torparse overlay to get an idea of my DPS output as the fight progressed. For an idea of how much insane burst this spec has, I regularly noted 5k+ DPS during opening burn phases and a few times saw a brief glimpse of 7.2k DPS with a bit of luck. I'll be re-evaluating the original post this coming week and thinking about how I can make the guide clearer or more informative. Thanks for the all the support.
  14. I don't think you're quite understanding the way the GCD operates and how that's going to affect the number of Trickshots you put out. The GCD will last 1.5 seconds from the moment you first click your ability whether it is instant, cast or channeled. Because Aimed Shot casts for 1.5 seconds, which is dead on exact to the length of the GCD, both abilities are actually going to take an equal amount of time to proc Trickshot. With the way alacrity was redesigned in 2.0 the GCD will scale with the cast time so it's the same for if you've taken 2% alacrity in the skill tree. However, since you're going to the effort of buffing Aimed Shot by doing a double Charged Burst it's very wasteful to let the buff drop off and sort of negates doing the charged bursts to begin with. It's my understanding that Quickdraw is designed to just fall into place as #1 priority as soon as it becomes available, and your rotation just continues on as per usual once you've got Quickdraw on cooldown. The problem with theory about quickdraw is you can't test it on a dummy, you have to actually fight a boss and there are so many factors in a boss fight which won't affect you on a dummy, not to mention the weekly lockout which limits your sample size and can be troublesome if you have a particularly lucky or unlucky attempt.
  15. Thanks for the clarification. Arsonist is still useful since XS Freighter Flyby is part of the rotation, although it does depend on the fight in regards to any mechanics/movement which will harm getting all your ticks out. Having said that my personal recommendation is the 5/18/23, and though Ballistic Dampers is useful it doesn't have a tangible effect on your output.
  16. Do you not have the legacy +1% accuracy and surge perks? It looks like you don't, so I would highly highly highly recommend you make the effort to max out your companion affection. You're losing free accuracy and surge and as a result harming your DPS. Addressing your question though, I have 395 Accuracy and 395 Surge but if you want to throw in one accuracy augment it's helpful, albeit less so for gunslingers than snipers because most of our miss % comes from the awful OH accuracy (~67%).
  17. http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/gunslinger#320-20101220023320-21012022211202032 is my variation on the spec. I never checked if Arsonist affects Shrap Bomb but it definitely buffs XS Freighter Flyby which you can't complain with. The hybrid plays like Dirty Fighting just without Hemorrhaging Blast and the Quickdraw Buff, but it has an extra DoT and much stronger AoE.
  18. Jumped into NiM S&V the other day and realized quickly that Sharpshooter is awful for Dash'roode. The 5/18/23 hybrid is easily the best spec for that fight. Having more AoE options that hit harder (I saw a 9.3k Flyby hit during inspiration, made me giddy), being able to DoT up Dash'roode on the move between shields, and having your DoTs continuously ticking while you change targets is fantastic. I had one 2100 DPS attempt on SS (very poor by any standards) before switching to the hybrid and pushing 2.9/3k consistently. Just a PSA that 36/3/7 isn't the be-all and end-all! Have to say I doubt adding 3 seconds to the duration of vital shot will outweight the ~40+ DPS lost from halving your double-tick chance. Getting into the habit of proactively refreshing vital shot should be ideal over increasing its duration.
  19. If your main interest is putting out large total damage values, dirty fighting is the way to go. Shrap Bomb wreaks havoc when it doesn't get cleansed, and being an AoE DoT you can have it ticking on large groups of enemies for sustained periods of time. Like mentioned before, saboteur is probably the best for node-guarding. Shock Charge and Incendiary Grenade equip you with an extra slow and stun, not to mention if you master rolling in place, using Sabotage and rolling in place again you have some disgustingly overpowered burst potential. Sharpshooter is, in my experience, more of a utility tree for PvP. It makes you the most untouchable for melee classes, Ballistic Dampers and Cover Screen give you more survivability and speccing around leg shot allows you to easily neutralize an enemy healer by leaving them stranded in the open while you have the potential to rain down consecutive big hitters. Pick your poison.
  20. That's how I previously used XS Freighter Flyby and it's a lot easier on energy and you get the added bonus of the alacrity buff from BV being applied to the cast of XS. I can't yet say whether there is an obvious best place to drop XS Freighter Flyby, but no doubt where you drop it has an effect on your energy level and damage output. I probably need to look into it a bit more.
  21. You guys should probably quit while you're ahead, it's getting late for Noodles he might need to sleep. I jest, congrats and good luck on Thrasher.
