  1. Hey there! Is it possible to do a flashpoint in an ops group? If so, how many players fit it one ops group? I'm asking because I thought about how to optimize social runs on "The Esseles" / "Black Talon", and I thought that a group of 16 players could get a lot more social points per run than a smallish 4 player group. With my new character(s) on "Jung Ma" I want to finally max out social levels (and get that social IV mask from Taris before I reach Quesh!), since on "The Progenitor" with none of my old 50's I ever reached more than 75% on the way from social II to social III, although I grouped a lot with others, but I did not run TE/BT more than two or three times (because it gets real boring real fast). Yes, I know that there are those who "already reached social X on the first day of the beta since that's oh so easy", but personally I find that social rank is one the slowest to acquire ranks in the whole game. However, since Bioware decided to at least give us some social points for other social activities than sharing a dialog, and since my current main character on "Jung Ma" is almost at social II with level 21 (I grouped with others even more on this character, and helped them complete their bonus quests and things like that), I thought I'd finally attempt to reach social X on at least one character. So, which is the fastest way to achieve that goal, apart from running TE/BT for a month until my brain starts bleeding? Ideas I had, although they depend on luck to find willing other players: - Building a 4 player group to complete all planetary quests, for example on Taris where "Lythe Vodaine" will be soon. - Repeating old H2 and H4 with lower-leveled other players, although that might not be too much fun for them (since I'll outlevel any foes real fast)
  2. Hmmm... That actually makes sense. I did not leave the queue and re-enter it. Maybe if I did, it would have worked as intended.
  3. Hey there! Last Saturday I was queued for flashpoints with groupfinder, but whenever a queue would pop, the time would run out because always the same person was apparently away from their keyboard. This went on for at least 4 queue pops in a row, so I thought that maybe, if I put that person on my ignore list, groupfinder would only invite me to groups without that sleepyhead -- but lo and behold who sat in the next queue that popped? So, was my assumption wrong that groupfinder would only group me with people not on my ignore list? Or is this a bug and it should have heeded my ignore list before putting us in a group together?
  4. Hmmm... I think, armors like the latter cannot be unlocked accoutn-wide because they already come with modifications attached. If they could be unlocked and reclaimed like other armors from the collection, one could get an infinite amount of modifications as well; and I think neither Bioware nor the crafters among us would want that.
  5. The smiley should give away my reason: I'm confused and don't understand why some people think it's a good idea to invite random strangers into their guild. And honestly, if you don't have something productive to add to this thread, why do you feel the urge to respond to it; do you feel better now that you did?
  6. I'm a subscriber as well but I'd say: Leave the PVP'ers something unique please. Also, yes, we subscribers already got at least one cool mount (the JA3 speeder), and we'll get another one in March, so I don't really see the need to give us yet another one. Sorry, but if you want that Rancor, you better start polishing your PVP skills to earn it in ranked PVP.
  7. Like hundred times before, today while playing and slaying black sun scum on Coruscant), I suddenly noticed the green text informing me that a ninja guild-invitation had been declined automatically (auto-decline is maybe the most important feature of this game!). It got me thinking again: What exactly do people expect from inviting some random stranger whom they never spoke to, into their guild? Are these possibly the same people that afterwards come crying in the forums because one of their guild members emptied the guild bank and then simply up and left?
  8. In essence, don't expect too many bug fixes; things that have been broken for years now already won't ever get fixed -- apparently people spend money on the game and cartel market despite the really long list of known but unfixed age-old bugs and issues, so there's no financial need for them to fix them...
  9. I agree; all this grunting and moaning is quite disturbing. In fact, partially it sounds more like from some [animated demonstration of human reproduction] than a computer game. When exactly did they add this btw.? I can't remember hearing my character grunt and moan back in 2012/2013...
  10. Hey there, as the title says; for sages and sorcerers past level 10, the lightsaber is near useless and really only a glow stick with modifiers -- but those modifiers could come from a second force focus as well! And I think it would look much cooler without a lightsaber, especially when casting lightning at foes. What do you think? Is there any reason why sages and sorcerers need a lightsaber, except for the looks?
  11. Hey there! I recently rolled a character here to start a new legacy and to try out what real PVP is all about, since I avoided it mostly on my RP-PVE server. Now I reached level 10 with my first character, a sage, and am confused about how to best progress with PVP: - Where do I go from here? Do I start queueing immediately for warzones or should I wait until level 55 so I don't spoil the fun for more experienced team members? - Is there a recommended order of PVP quests to do, to set me up for example with some starter gear? - As far as I remember, about a year ago, when reaching level 50 with a character, one could get free recruit PVP gear to use (or sell); this isn't thes case any more, right? - Are there other ways / quests around PVP that reward PVP gear / commendations, besides warzones?
  12. Give it some time. I for example am new to this server and (ranked) PVP. If Bioware would put more "carrots" like the Rancor mount in front of people, as reward for (ranked) PVP'ing, more people would try PVP and become good enough one day to even try ranked PVP.
  13. Then I'm afraid you won't be playing this game. There are a lot of differences, but the most prominent one would be the level of detail that Star Citizen aims for -- and the resulting beefy hardware requirements to even play it with lowest settings. Apart from that, since the differences are quite numerous (beginning with the game's focus) I'd suggest asking this in CIG's forum; they're quite open-minded when it comes to friendly competition; Chris Roberts apparently even pledged for Elite Dangerous.
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong, but which hard-to-obtain PVE mounts / rewards exactly are being sold on the cartel market? I can think of some that can still only be obtained by doing certain operations / flashpoints in hard mode, so could you please give me an example where a hard-to-obtain "for the best of the best" PVE item has been handed down to the masses later on? Thank you.
  15. I know, I'm late with my praise, but I am just so happy about having a collection system in SWTOR. Thanks to collections, I can dress up all my characters exactly as I want them to look like, which is a big plus for a roleplayer. Also, I only have to invest credits once to get my favourite mounts for all my characters from the GTN. What do the rest of you think about the collections system? Good or bad?
  16. Hey there, as the title says, what's the difference? Is there something to be aware of when queueing for ranked PVP? Thanks in advance for your answers!
  17. And here I thought I'd never get the chance to use this one here: http://www.force10.us/pictures/warlord/Thread_Necromancer.jpg
  18. Me neither. As it is right now, I choose to ignore both as "not worth the effort". Social points are something like a "community reputation", so why not make it so you can achieve it for all you characters, like normal reputation? And as for the datacrons; I made the effort to get them on one character, but since I hate jump'n'runs, especially with a sucky engine when it comes to jumping, I refuse to get them on any other character (except the ones that are simply hard-to-find instead of hard-to-jump-to).
  19. I'm afraid it'll only be a little bigger than a Tauntaun; I mean, just take a dewback mount and park it next to an NPC's dewback on Tatooine, or doe the same with a Varactyl on Belsavis -- I'd say, they mounts are 70% to 80% of the size of the "real" thing in the game world; so don't hold your breath on anyone really towering on their rancor; rancor mounts will be dwarves compared to wild rancors (for example on Belsavis). Mark my words, I say Tauntaun-sized plus some, but not much.
  20. An excellent posting! I agree, it would be better to keep the Rancor mount as a tier-1-reward for at least one or two more seasons.
  21. I never said I was a good roleplayer, I only said I was a roleplayer. But it really all depends on the situation: If I'm a Jedi and see a bountyhunter, I won't engage unless they attack me first. If I am however playing a darkside Sith sorcerer, then yes, I'll engage similar-leveled players of the other faction, regardless of their class and intentions. But a defeat is a defeat, and after that I'll be on my way; corpse/spawn camping sucks, and I don't like it when others do this to me (like it has happened in the last plague event on Alderaan), so I won't do this to others as well. I agree, that would be nice. I'll make sure to send a distress call out, whenever I'm being harassed by someone, like when being killed or preyed on multiple times by the same player who happens to be 30 levels above me. It's ok in my book to kill me once, but after that they should just let me retreat and continue with whatever it was I was doing.
  22. I completely agree, this mount should remain exclsuive to those reaching the appropriate rating in PVP to get it. Reasoning: We already have a lot of creature mounts in the cartel market, and a lot of other mounts as well; so all it would really do if you put this one up for sale would be to diminish the achievement of getting it. I don't PVP much (yet; I just started a second legacy on a PVP server), but compared to for example the Czerka Executive speeder from PVE, I would feel dumb and betrayed to work on getting the necessary reputation for weeks, just to see it going on sale for everyone on the cartel market -- and you should never make your customers feel dumb and betrayed! So, please, if you honestly want to bring more players to PVP then never put the Rancor mount in the cartel market -- let it be the carrot to encourage players to PVP and be good in PVP!
  23. This may be true, of course. It seems Bioware isn't consistent with such things in general... For example, if you buy the "Advanced Speeder Piloting III" unlock, you can only use it once you reach level 35. However, if you open your legacy -> character unlocks page and buiy it there (paying with CC!), you can unlock it even at level 1.
