  1. Shikyo thank you. About the 0/20/21 how does the loss of Creeping Death affect your dps? I have been thinking of respeccing.
  2. Love this post as each time I see this happen it makes me laugh and curse in equal measure. I have been ninja capped I think twice or so. Pretty funny how often this happens tho or maybe that is sad. Rule 1 watch the node and if a sorcerer keep a shield on yourself and teammate if there is one. Rule 2 if you see someone just outside the node looking tasty and squishy it is a trap and stay where you are they are trying to bait you away.

0/18/23 he is talking about is this build http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/sorcerer#0-c2ce29c-27868fe3 you will notice it does not have the Chain Lightning talents. The reason for this build is the Backlash and the Overload talents it adds survivability but sacrifices the Madness talent Creeping Death so you lose a little dps. I personally would place some of the points around while still keeping the Backlash and Overload but overall it is a very viable build and extremely popular with the sorcerers who pug vs guilded. Not trying to sound mean or disrespectful just want all the information out there.

There are different full madness builds basically once you get full madness "31" then look at what extra you want. The 3/7/31 is very popular I personally modified it for a 0/10/31 because I wanted the extra 20 percent on my Static Barrier which a good tip is to always use it when you can if not on yourself on a teammate. I guess the point is that once you go full madness look to what skills you are using if you are getting focused a lot use those points for escape skills if you are left alone then go the 3/7/31 this is going to give you the most dps for your buck but be careful the gains of having those last ten points are not going to be substantial, others would argue that every little bit counts but if something else catches your eye try it out it may work for your style. Now for 0/18/23 you get about every cc and stun you can you get overload root which is decent but breaks on damage and you get backlash which is good but also breaks on contact "note in 1.4 this will not longer be the case it will be a full 3 second stun and will NOT break on damage". Sounds great but you are missing out on Creeping Death which is a great talent and works on all your periodic damage abilities which for you is just about everything. Your Death Field is your nuke when you see someone low you hit um with it and they go down it also affects up to 3 targets and is line of sight friendly. You will use this a lot and it will make up more of your effective damage second only to Force Lightning. So survival or damage? Depends on how much you are dying if you are repawning like crazy go survival if you have no up time you have no damage so go with the 0/18/23 if however you are staying alive go with the 3/7/31 or a variation of the madness. Just a future cast here I think that when 1.4 comes out most will play the 0/18/23 simply for the change in Backlash in case you like to play something that will be good for a while. As for gear I will be honest it matters but in this game you will always face others with better gear work at it but do not let it stop you from pvping or anything else. That being said what matters most is your outlook on the class. You have skills that can be useful in any situation and some are critical. Take pulls for example some only use it on huttball "if then" however if you are in combat and see your teammate being burned down use it to make space for him bubble then do a spot heal. I do understand you are dps but do not pigeonhole yourself it is about the objective not killing toons. This is just one example all the skills are useful in all warzones you just have to be imaginative that is what the class is about. To WelcomeToEndgame thank you sir it is people like you that make me want to post.

Welcome back to pvp, missed you while you were gone. Right now for dps the two top specs are full Madness and lightning/madness hybrid all depends on your play style the dps is going to be close less then 5 percent between them so try them out and see what you like. I have ran the combat parcers on both and looked at the SimC as well. Madness Run and gun only stay put when you channel FL for the Wrath proc then get moving the dps comes from Affliction a lot of people say it is fluff damage and they are right but if you chase numbers that is what you should be spamming. For effective dps you will have to channel force lighting as the filler it does decent damage and will account for about 30 percent of total dps but again overall your numbers will suffer however you will have more effective and directed dps. Every time Death Field comes up use it but only if they already have affliction on them otherwise you wont get full dps on it. You cannot be focused you can't take it stay at distance as far as you can and make sure if you do get focused you run and hug that pillar like it is your true love. Doing this you should be able to get 300 to 400 depending on up time probably more in the 200 range given the focusing tactic and the win ratio of pugs. 1. Force Lightning 2 Affliction 3 Death Field Hybrid Lightning You give up CT for Overload and Lightning Barrage if you are looking for directed effective damage I recommend this as I find it to be a lot more fun to play as well as having more survivability. Basically the same as above just you move a little less and need to be savvy with where you gun from. Good Luck and let me know how it goes
  6. I'm on Harbinger El'drik if you are on hit me up. I have guildies who are low level you could run with really nice people. Plus I would be more than welcome to answer/help you in anyway. If you already looking into it you are ahead of the curve and will pick it up quickly. Don't beat yourself up over a lose it happens a lot when pugging so just shrug it off and move on. Like the others said don't pay attention to the trash talkers they are not worth responding to or giving the time of day to. Wish you the best
  7. Someone already said this but the warzones are objective based. What that means to me is that you have to be able to contribute to the team in a meaningful way. Back when you were in Recruit you had crap damage and still were able to contribute I don't see the problem here. Would I like it if my sorcerer had more damage? Hell yes but the class is not about the damage it does even when you are dps spec you have so many things you can do to contribute. Static Barrier allies, cc healers, stun at the nodes, overload around corners to pin people in place. These are just some things you are only limited by your imagination that is the greatness of this class. Now this class will never be a burst class or the one that other characters run from so you have to live with that. Marauders are beasty and when one comes at my node I know I have to take him seriously or die. Sorcerers are never going to be that and wanting it will not make it so. This class is not a glass canon instead it is the class that can contribute in any situation. You have a ton of abilities use them all they all have their place and in the right situation in every warzone are far more valuable than damage. Just my take on it I love the class and have gone back and forward on it instead of being upset for what I wish the class was I have had to find out what the class is.
  8. The sad part is that you are pretty prolific on this site. Really you and your friends decided your challenge would be to ruin the game for some lowbies? You going to go beat up old women to, for the challenge of course. We can't stop you as really we have no power that does not mean that in the future if we are given the chance to screw you over we won't take it. After all look at all your threads at sometime we will be able to grief the hell out of them. Of course it will be for the challenge

    PvP Guilds

Yes a bunch of them. Look for tags and talk to them let them know your situation and they will tell you if it is a requirement. Usually it is only a requirement for those in the 50 bracket and then only some guilds.
  10. The op match described happens all the time and you get quitters all the time. Personally I don't mind one quitting it is when you get the cascade effect and you have a whole new team in seconds. Then you are like Dorthy in OZ looking around and saying I don't I am in Kansas anymore. So it was going like crap and you left because it was to painful to stay. What about the shadow who you said helped you? Now he is all alone in a **** tastic group he can quit or he can tough it out and lose, both pretty bad decisions and not fun for him. I am not saying that you should of stayed hey you are not having fun then yeah leave. But I am saying to think of the other players you leaving just kicked him when he was down already. I have had matches were two nodes were capped and 5 players just decided to stay at one node and farm. Then I make a post and rally the other two and we go and attack the least defended node for giggles. Are we gonna win? No but we are not going down like children either and if I had left it would of been that much worse for them. The point is that you can't quit and not hurt someone and I have yet to see anyone quit with dignity it is an inherently selfish decision. That being said sometimes you have to do what is right for you.
  11. This thread goes through it with both opinions so you can decide for yourself. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=413607&page=3
  12. No guild pretty simple if you are not in a pvp guild you are not doing rateds.
  13. There was a thread for awhile about how expertise has DR after about 1000 or so. Some buy into it others are against it I personally thought the math looked pretty convincing. So 950 is damn close, I would look at your other gear as being the reason for the difference in damage or a different priority list of abilities that they are using. Now I am not saying only go to a 1000 expertise I am saying outfit your character to your specifications that fit you, and choose the gear that is going to fit your play style. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=413607&page=3
  14. Not an expert but figured since no one responded I would. I use Ask Mr Robot to check my logs and it is free and easy to understand. You can tab through all the data as for who killed you, how much taken, how much healed and it will supply names for the people who did it. As for hacking it is possible you will know if the numbers don't seem to match most of the hacks are not recorded in the combat log so if you have a discrepancy that should clue you in. good luck
  15. Half War Hero and Battle Master all of it gotten through solo que. For a solo player like myself yes I lost a lot even with all the prepartion "3500, 2000" it is pvp and losing is going to happen, a lot. Nothing and no one will ever change that some of the loses were due to gear, bad players, me playing bad all sorts of things none of which matter I lost end of story. I would say the ratio is 1 to 4 for win loss as you gear grind by yourself that is conservative. Now when I lost was it a waste of time, no I still got comm's and credits just not as much as if I won. That is kind of the point even for losing you still progress. It is not like when you lose you get nothing unless you spent the whole match screwing up and were unable to earn any, not dogging anyone it happens. There are a lot of War Hero's in pug groups but that is on both sides so as for the imbalance I don't see it sometimes you will have them with you and sometimes against. As long as they are not premades you can still win they are one person not a whole team it is not difficult and or uncommon for this to happen. As for a whole premade of War Hero well then you are in some deep **** you probably wont win this one but you will still get comms and credits so really not that big of a loss. As for the suggestion to make expertise the same well that would be fine if you did not want to customize many of us want to play with that number and offset it with other stats it makes the builds unique and interesting if you do this you take that away and pretty much make all the characters the same. What this amounts to is a nerf of the effort equals power dynamic. If I study and listen to others I can find ways to get just a little more power out of my character what you are suggesting is make it all even for everyone no matter the work they put in. I don't like that, instead I like the fact that I can put effort into a game and get results.
  16. You don't have the right to talk down to others. Simple as that. Does this mean I can stop you no in reality I can't stop you from making an *** of yourself. But consider when you shout out comments like that you are also hitting the players that you may not have anything against. Ops chat is great for talking to everyone but if you have an issue with a specific person a post of "You suck and need to l2p" does not help. In addition look at the damage you just did to some kid who maybe was trying his best or just having some fun. I get your frustrated we all pvp and we have all been in the que where we go 10 losses with no wins because someone does something stupid or instead of pvp gear they have pve. You want to know what log out or find something else to do just because you are frustrated does not give you the right to take it out on others. In real life when this happens in a car it is called road rage and is how people get shot. For those who are saying they think this will help in some way. It does not and will never, when someone is being abusive and that is what you are being the person receiving it will not suddenly see your light and say oh I really should do that. Not gonna happen and really the justification for your bad behavior is ridiculous. More than likely if they are a strong individual they are going to keep doing what they want. If they are not they may quit and leave the pvp or the game a loss in my opinion because the game has more stuff than pvp. The whole people should be ashamed angle is really funny oh let me feel shame for not being better at a video game I pay for or for not helping you oh great and mighty one. Really are you acquainted with the fact that this is a video game not starving children? You want better players than start trying to be a better player. That means helping others be better at the game not rattling off orders but genuinely helping them. The constructive criticism starts with constructive it means don't say things that are going to be destructive. You need to build them up not tear them down you want better play show them how to play better. You still get jerks who will do whatever but those are not the majority most people want to get better but seeing all the raging in chat will not get you taken seriously.
  17. I have seen Pyro get 800,000 plus damage in a rated warzone against other well geared opponents"almost full WH". Name one other class that can do that?
