  1. Honestly, all they'd have to do is put some of the stuff from the cartel market into the CE vendor, it would be awesome. CE owners could buy off the vendor or from the Cartel market. Would be a nice perk.
  2. Why wouldn't it be? The fact it's shut down now is irrelevant. In any case you're arguing that the price is justified by a level cap raise. So essentially they can release a couple of new FP's, WZs, etc.... add a cap raise and it justifies the price?
  3. We'll reveal more exciting features is marketing BS. That's not just a BW thing, that's an any company thing. Generally speaking if you're trying to get people to pre-order you lead with all the information you can. You don't just say, "This is great. Buy it."
  4. I don't think anyone is making any comments based on speculation other than those who are claiming the expansion pack will indeed have WZs, FPs, etc.... Most of the detractors are simply looking at the announcement of one planet and 5 levels and are unimpressed.
  5. CoH raised the cap in issue 1 free of charge. Raised it for villains later on free of charge.
  6. No. It's still a content patch. It was announced as a content patch for no charge. Then they decided they were goin to call it an expansion and charge for it without adding anything to it.
  7. I want to know exactly what is included in the "expansion" that justifies paying $10-20 for it. So far we haven't heard anything other than 1 planet and 5 levels. New abilities would go along with those 5 levels, but what about those abilities is ground breaking that I would want them? So far, that information is not enough to make me, personally, want to open my wallet. This game has generated quite a bit of ill will. They will need to provide far more than what they've promised to get me to play.
  8. SGR options with an NPC basically means you have the flirt option in dialogue. BFD.
  9. Source for this? Cuz the state of the game letter from Hickman says the opposite.
  10. Why would you not just delete the entire game if you were playing it too much?
  11. Maybe some adults. Personally, if the service is bad enough I don't complain to management. I simply walked out and then told everyone I knew and anyone who would listen to me not to eat there. If someone mentioned that they were thinking of eating there, I told them not to. I guess that's a childish way to handle things.
  12. You ever received poor service at a restaurant and told all your friends not to eat there? It was just one meal and there are dozens of other places to eat.
  13. It's more of a symptom of how ticked they've made customers. It's one thing to tick off a customer to where they go elsewhere. It's another thing to tick off a customer to where they go elsewhere and tell everyone they know to go elsewhere. That is where EA has got to with a lot of people.
  14. If they are indeed adding new FP, WZs, etc... and just aren't done with them, why not announce them? If they know they'll be there in some form, why not announce them?
  15. I think it is completely legit to react to just what we've seen. They shouldn't be shocked that they make a lackluster announcement and people get upset. The fact that they are 3 months out and don't know what will make it in (according to your thinking) says a lot right there. Other games have announced what they will be releasing next year. They haven't given dates or anything, but they've already announced what they're going to be releasing. If all we get this year is 1 planet that is extremely disappointing.
  16. Honestly, question 3 is the big one. Other MMOs are releasing generic plans for their games this year while TOR has told us virtually nothing. This makes me feel uneasy. For example, DCUO published an open letter saying they are adding player housing, guild housing and revamping one of the major cities this year among other things. TOR has announced 1 planet and questionable content on that planet. Doesn't give me the warm fuzzies about the game.
  17. Would they keep it open if it's just keeping the lights on and nothing more? I don't know. It's almost certain they'll suspend/slow developing new content at that point if it comes to that. I don't know that they would need to cancel the license in order to shut the game down though. Could they not shut the game down and sit on the license? Lucasarts is making money either way are they not?
  18. Yuun is interesting though he sucks in combat IMO. At that point in the game you have way better choices than a melee dps. I drug him into all the convos on Voss just because I had maxed affection w/Dorne (my main companion) he ate all that mystical crap up with a spoon.
  19. Honestly, I think it really depends on the long term success of F2P. The sub model failed rather epically in just 10 mos or so. Whether the F2P model for this game is viable or not long term remains to be seen since they've only been running that way for a month or so. The trend is showing the number of people online is trending downward. Holidays might explain that or it may be a symptom of something else. I can't imagine EA keeping the game alive if the trend continues regardless of how much money they sunk into developing it. I think we'll know in 6 mos whether the F2P model is going to be viable long term or not. If it's not, then the game may not last into next year.
  20. Totally agree. The other day I got a customization for the Republic Ship Droid. Problem was it was my Bounty Hunter who got it. And it binds on pickup so you can't sell it. ***? Bind to legacy would've fixed that right there.
  21. Let me guess. You're skipping the side quests?
  22. The problem is that we're being asked to pay for a content patch. Said content patches are typically free in MMOs and have been free in this MMO in the past. The fear is that this will set the precedent that from now on every content patch will be labeled an "expansion" and tagged with a $10 price tag.
