  1. Lord Adraas, RP-PvE, seen plenty of RP on empire and republic side.
  2. Lord Adraas for RP-PvE, Rp everywhere.
  3. This ^ I had trouble with my chapter 2 final mission because some bonus mission elites took too long to burn down and eventually killed me. With Quinn there wasn't nearly enough damage and it was just a stalemate. Admittedly I was in need of a gear upgrade, so I know that was part of it. I've heard Jaesa is pretty good, and I've also heard from some that she's squishy. In my experience she's absurdly squishy, but some people have success with her. I prefer Vette's aoe and apparent ability to take a lot more damage than Jaesa, personally.
  4. I've been using Quinn for elites and have been burning them down reasonably quickly. For everything else geared Vette rips everything apart, all I have to do is taunt lol.
  5. Defense mods should help. You should totally read the Juggernaut tanking sticky too, it's helped me a ton. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=2688#14 Also, I don't know what companions you're using, but from my own personal experience I'd stick with Vette and pull Quinn out for heals on elites. Keep them both geared. I leveled immortal but at 42 I switched to vengeance and until I got used to it I was getting eaten alive. If you're new to immortal spec you might just have to get your sea legs, so to speak, and it'll all fall together nicely.
  6. Hm, I'll give rage a try, I haven't even thought of it. I'd always been told it's a PvP spec and never considered it for leveling. Also for my rage problems as vengenace I realized I had autopiloted straight into Soresu form again. I've since switched to Shien and rage seems more reasonable. For some of the fights I had difficulty with as a tank they were either on level or higher. Mostly it was my class quest at the end of chapter 2, some bonus mission elites were in a dead even health race with me the whole time, whether I used Vette or Quinn. It's obviously due to player error, I just can't figure out what I was doing wrong. For pretty much everything else I haven't had problems at all. I've definitely noticed an increase in deaths since switching to Vengeance though. I'll give Fury a try but I think I'll probably switch back to tank. thanks.
  7. I've been leveling as immortal since level 10 and love it so far. Recently at 42 I gave Vengenace a shot and after a few missions and a couple deaths I got the hang of it and actually enjoy it as much as immortal. However I have two questions. 1.) At my current level (43) Vengeance seems to have poor rage generation compared to Immortal. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, I don't know. Any suggestions, or was I spoiled by the insane rage generation of Immortal? 2.) If I do switch back to Immortal I had been using tanking mods and stuff, endurance, defense, etc. Should I switch to DPS mods and enhancements? I'm sure I'd still be able to tank regular flashpoints while I level if I did so, but would the change be worth my credits, commendations, and quest rewards? All defense/endurance/etc gear was wonderful for a while but recently some elites have been giving me a hard time, either because my damage is too low and I forget medpacs and I die before Vette or Jaesa can finish it off or they whittle me down because Quinn likes to just up and stop healing from time to time (the jerk) and my DPS just can't outpace the mob. Also, any tips regarding either tree for leveling? End game I'll switch back to Immortal for sure, but for leveling I'm a bit torn
  8. Yes. Get rid of them immediately or, preferably, re-tune them to 2-man heroics. I'm an obsessive completist when it comes to quests and I've been on Nar Shaddaa for TWO FREAKING DAYS trying to do these stupid quests. I'm going to have to skip them and the OCD in me is going to throw a fit. Seriously, it's impossible to find groups for these. I play a healer. It's just getting ridiculous at this point. I'd love to see an option to re-tune these quests to 2 man when you can't find 4. "Join an active guild" is not a viable solution. I'm IN an active guild with friends, none of them have alts my level, and if I felt like it I could ask for a run through, but I don't. "Come back when you're higher level" is not a viable solution. I should not have to come back to a quest that offers absolutely nothing for me once I've out-leveled it. As for the crowd spouting such useless nonsense as "flashpoints are hard to group for, should they be removed", get real. Flashpoints offer plenty for the effort--gear, social points, etc. Heroic quests? Oh, cool, I got some gear that offers a marginal improvement over my current gear, or is inferior. Oh, cool, some xp. I could have ground out more than that in the time it took to get a group. Heroic quests are not the same as flashpoints. The reward is not worht the time invested. They need to be addressed.
  9. The biggest thing I want is less clunky ops frames. Coming from WoW I've used Grid ever since I decided the semi-transparent oldschool raid frames weren't going to work for me. I recently switched back to the default UI when Blizzard vastly improved their worthless raid frames. Swtor's raid frames are alright and I like that I can customize them, but I would prefer to move the unit name onto my health bar so that I don't have so much screen real estate pointlessly taken up by transparent space that makes room for unit names and a bunch of buffs I don't give a flying crap about seeing and would disable if I knew how/could. As a new player who's only healed some flashpoints and group quests there really isn't a whole lot I would change. In fact i would hate to see a complete client-side change to the Ops frames, I just want more options to tailor it to my personal tastes. I would also love a buff/debuff filter in the Preferences menu so I can show only debuffs I can cleanse on ops frames and perhaps only buffs that I cast. I find the current ops frames a little distracting and too busy with the names above the health bar and visible buffs. It's slightly distracting, but probably not anything I can't just get used to. I would also like mouseover healing. I know a lot of people are having huge fits over this as if I'm asking for some way to cheat the game. Click, press heal hotkey, click, press heal hotkey, click, press heal hotkey. Mouseover lets me just eliminate the unnecessary click, it feels awkward and clunky without mouseover functionality. So my list is, in order of preference: 1.) Buff/debuff filter in options 2.) Further ops frame customization. Resizing the health bar is a great start, but I would love more overall UI customization in general. 3.) Mouseover healing. Not necessary. Any half decent healer can do without it, but it feels a little awkward and clunky.
  10. This. Just put in a UI option under the Operations Frames section to "only show debuffs I can dispel". Problem solved. Not game breaking, not lazy, it simplifies a clunky interface and nothing more.
  11. My bounty hunter is neutral, though more points in Light than Dark because she's not an animal. Sometimes a job is a job, sometimes the stakes are too high and the consequences of following through will have far reaching consequences and she shoves pride, honor, and reputation aside and does the "right" thing. Usually, though, if she's been paid to put a bullet in you she's going to, no ifs ands or buts. My Sith Warrior is pretty Sithy. He isn't chaotic stupid, though, doesn't eat live chicks for dark side points or pointlessly abuse his minions. But he's a patriot, he's pragmatic, and all's fair in love and war. Very strong survival of the fittest mentality, but now and then he'll help somebody out if it benefits the greater good. His alignment is probably closer to the neutral end of the dark side spectrum, but he's not above slaughtering women and children to demoralize the enemy.
  12. Roleplaying in an online game does feel very...well... clunky. It involves a lot of descriptive writing and suspension of disbelief. In other words, if you can't imagine other players doing that their emotes and conversation say they're doing you will not like RPing in swtor or any mmo. If you're willing to give it a shot and have a fertile imagination you'll probably greatly enjoy yourself. As for North American realms I'm leveling on Lord Adraas (EST rp server) and there's RP everywhere, Empire side at least.
  13. I'm currently leveling on Lord Adraas and I see a lot of RP. Major cities seem to be mostly dull, the RP seems to be mostly spread throughout the galaxy. It's awesome, I love going to a quest hub and having the added ambiance of roleplay.
