  1. Hi Guys, For those of you that don't know. Steam deck is a gnu/linux computer with a console form factor. The "Playable" means the game works well on linux. https://www.protondb.com/app/1286830 => Platinum rating by the community. There is no "swtor goes mobile" nor "swtor goes console" steam deck is a pc like you guys have just uses linux and does not have a keyboard by default. For swtor to go for a "VERIFIED" status it would probably requires the launcher to go away (since it requires keyboard) and for the game to add controller support. Which it does not have. You can use controller on swtor because steam maps keyboard keys to the controller buttons...
  2. Now and then I try to redo some chapters and some of the companions just appear with only underwear and without weapons. I try to equip weapons on them but the game does not allow. Without weapons they can't do most skills, so no healing or damage... Last week i did Mandalore's Revenge and Torian was just like that, was supper hard...
  3. Hi all Crafters, I started liking crafting and focused mainly on Synthweaving because of the Augments, but doing more and more kinds of crafting trough all my chars. Biochem became a cause of great love and I started trying to get the Advanced Kyrprax Medpac MK-2 schematic. After a very long time I finally got it. But to my disappointment it requires biochem 700 to use it. Do other crafting skill have this type of restriction? I don't remember any restrictions on augments for synthweaving 700. And if its only biochem, why is this so restrictive? I think this type of items are useful and should be nice to sell them to all players. They are expensive already in terms of mats... Why would I even try to craft this things if most player can't use them? Should I stop investing on trying to get the MK-2 adrenals? Kind Regards
  4. Just to let you guys know swtor runs well on linux with wine/proton. I have been playing swtor for years on linux and there's minimal issues.
  5. You know this is related to PTS? So its improvements to the PTS, not to the game itself. Why don't you stop whining about the PTS not being good, and start explaining the reasons in a constructive matter so they get it and change with your opinion in consideration. I also felt some things where wrong, but this is a testing phase and we are doing testing. If you don't understand this concept, please stop just saying everything is wrong for the sake of you being right. This is not set on stone yet. And they are asking you, me and everybody else that is doing PTS if we fell this is good or not. It looks like they did listen that things where not ok. And explained some things where badly prepared and others are going to change. So we will do a next round of testing and came here again to tell what it feels right or wrong. This is testing of something that is not finished or fully implemented yet. Saying "Please don't do this or I will go play FFXIV" its not helping anyone. Not you, not me and not the alienated fans of the PTS

  7. So nice seeing that having PTS phases before release does really work. You release something on PTS, we like/don't like something. And you change it based on our feedback. This is what PTS is for. Thank you Jackie. Hope the next update on PTS fells better, and that everyone can explain why it does/doesn't more clearly.
  8. Ok, so my experience is maybe more casual than yours, but what you describe here is that you want the 100% avoidance. In the PTS we have Blade Turning => "The first 2 seconds of Saber Ward grand 100% defense over melee and ranged attacks" Would tweaking this And/Or tweaking the Saber Ward make it better? Like reducing the CD. For me personally I want to be a tank to be able to grab the bull (boss) by its horns. Also the 20 meters you move with blade blitz for some mobs/bosses they trigger other attacks and some of them even stun you. So it maybe works well with "Terror From Beyond" but probably not with all OPs/FPs/etc. At least this is my experience from the content I did. So maybe that's why I'm not understanding this in the same way most people here are. I also do this now, but I personally would prefer to have 100% defense while standing my ground than having 100% defense while fleeing. Maybe when we get the loadouts UI it will make more sense then... Don't know...
  9. Someone became productive. Hope you also read the rest of the posts... What disciple do you normally play as in guardian/warrior? My experience in guardian/warrior is only on tank (immortal), so maybe that is why I don't fell more hurt about not having Blade Blitz/Mad Dash. For me its a situational thing in PVE. I'm not just going to move the around just for 100% defense change when i have other DCDs I can manage. Unless I don't have any other option or its a very specific situation that I can use it to save the other DCDs. (someone pointed out examples of this already here) On PVP I do use it a lot, but we do have a lot of DCDs so not seeing a problem here. Assuming the balancing will make the others DCDs stronger (less CD and/or more effective). Saber throw on the other hand makes managing focus a lot harder, but is manageable. And I do fell a lack of combat skills but this is not an update, this is the first phase of PTS. We don't know what we are going to get yet, and things can still change.
  10. Now this feels like an improvement. I think your feedback here is more constructive. And I agree with some points. Sorry but paying for the game does not give you the right to treat people like that. I don't know what your profession is, but i can image you would not like to be treated like that on something that is not even finished. Everyone makes mistakes, both of us included. Intension was not to lecture anyone, I'm a nobody. So I'm sorry if I made you felt that way.

  12. We both know its not just ability pruning. But you are right, and you did a good explanation, I personally will wait for next phase to see how this goes. And hey if on the next PTS skill/optional skills still suck I will be sharing my opinion here...
  13. I don't get why you think the state of the current PTS is set on stone or that this is what we are going to get. But you could respond to the questions jackie asked and try to help them out seeing that the current optional skills are not ok. We are like on alpha and you assume we are on the last week of beta. If you cant handle the questions and things unfinished don't go to PTS. Its not helping. This is just low, there are people with families working there. If you thing you have the right to say this you should send a curriculum to EA/Bioware and then share the response here on forums so we can see how much better you are. If you are playing this game for 10 years I assume this is not the first PTS. So you know that what we get on this phase is going to change? We all love this game, can we all stop offending people and try to be more helpful? Also the objective is to respond to the questions, just include what you think is wrong in the answers
  14. Since I am normally immortal warrior my feedback is more focused on defense A/B. I did some mindless killing with all the available "loadouts" and then went for the dailies only with the defense "loadouts" It still feels like guardian, because its still a bulky figure that has combat skill with high survivability. But the survivability seems to have decreased greatly in PTS, but its more likely to be related to the gear stats. All gear i got was for DPS and I could not change it to Tank gear when buying the sets from vendor. I do miss some skills in my rotation over all. It not like I cant work without them, but the ones we have now as they are it seems incomplete. Without Saber Throw its harder to manage focus but doable. But it feels lacking attack skills. Also without Force Kick and Resolute it feels like I'm naked. I don't mind not having the skills in trade of others, but i miss the effects of them... Focus A/B has very weird rotation it felt wrong overall, but Vigilance A/B was okeyish. Liked Vigilance A more... i don't normally play this disciplines. In terms of Defense, the B seemed more for PVE I did most of the dailies with this one. But Defense A also felt pretty decent. Vigilance A was ok. Had hard time surviving with Focus A/B and vigilance B. I do enjoy that we don't have has much skills for all kinds of situations all the time. Its a shame that for now the skills that are optional don't fell like the best choices. Also it feels like there's a few slots empty that need new skills. Overall I think its a beginning of something new, and am overall excited for it.
  15. I don't get why you say this, when we don't even know what we are going to get. And I know they have done some weird stuff over the years and I was not playing during that time, maybe that's why I'm more open to this changes. But the same thing happened in the 6.0 PTS with the loot, did you not like what they did? Even Destiny 2 Has the same system. I'm not saying to sugar coat what you think is wrong, just be constructive and objective. A simple "I don't think a can live without skill X when playing on Discipline Y because of motive Z1,Z2,Z3." Also there are people that are working on the game that are going to read all of this pages and feel bad about something they are working and we didn't even see it completely yet...
  16. I know, but they can update any other skill to balance this. By reducing DCD and/or increasing effectiveness for other defense skills. As tank if you could get a 100% defense change + a DCD reduction on any other skill would you mind not having the Blade Blitz? I do like this skill don't get me wrong. Its just feels that everybody is super pissed in an very initial PTS. Maybe we should wait and see what you get if you don't have Blade Blitz. And then if what we get in return sucks either they gave it back or improve the new thing.
  17. You are totally right, and I do think this kind of feedback you are giving is what they want and are searching for. If they understand why people think mad dash is crucial, they could re-add the skill and/or update other defense skills to work better in regard to what you are explaining here. Hope other player/testers can explain things like you. So thank you very much ebinhovdloca.
  18. Well this is still early testing, so I think its too early to assume they will not make other skills stronger to balance that. If Saber Reflect/Enure, Focused Defense and Saber Ward got stronger do you really need Blade Blitz/Mad Dash for something other than mobility? Also, I am not 100% sure if it was defense A or B, but i recall something giving 100% defense for the initial 2 seconds for some of this defensive skills. I could be wrong...
  19. Your probably right, but for me personally its what i do. Can you tell me how do you use it? You are totally right, but if force push and/or hilt bash could interrupt like Force Kick I would not miss it.
  20. Hi all, So i tested the guardian for the Defense paths only (A and B). So my feedback is for defense only, I always play as Immortal warrior so it feels like home. I did notice that some skills where missing, but i did not felt it so bad as explained here from most players. Blade Blitz missing for me its meh. I use it only for mobility, so as a tank only guy (pvp/pve) I see this skill just for fleeing or when jet-pack is on cooldown. Force Kick I use it a lot, but we also have force push and hilt bash that could also be used for interrupts. Resolute on the other hand i don't really know how am I going to break from stuns and all. But i am assume some extra skills/passive will resolve this. Dispatch also is missing, but if I have any other attack skill to add to the rotation i'm happy. Looking forward to the next phase... I think the initial post has some errors, Jackie can you please check the initial post? For ex: Through Peace - Reduces Enure’s Cooldown. But on defense A: Saber Reflect is present not Enure, but Through Peace is. Something is not making sense here, that is because Through Peace does not reduce Enure's it reduces Focused Defense cooldown. (at least in the PTS in-game) I think the communication needs to be a bit better, this also happened in the 6.0 PTS. SWTOR players got a lot of weird stuff over the year so I do understand the fear and some of the anger. So please try to put this more clear, specially on things like skills or gear... I personally think we are still on an alpha not in the last week of a beta test. ("This is super high level and not a deep dive") We all love this game, I think we should try to help them out not scold them. (them = swtor team) Making videos about how you fell angry about this changes doesn't help with the process. Maybe trying to explain why something doesn't feel right will be more helpful. We all know where anger leads us... The sweet dark-side we should use in-game, not on real life.
  21. I would also like this, I think the content itself is cool. And it would be more easily accessible. Even if they cannot put it in the FP Queue, at least they could add them as an activity you could queue in the activities window.
  22. Thanks, its always rewarding to see i'm not the only one that feels this way. This game has so much potential that make's me crazy. EA is trying to build Games As A Service for some time but this game is not only that but Star Wars As A Service. We just need more to this "Service" in the form of Features, cosmetic loot, story or others. The game is heavily monetized why not give us some freebies, like be able to change our char appearance/race for free or give us some tokens from time to time to do it... Many possibilities here...

Hi All, I would like to leave here my opinions in general about the game specially for the subscription in terms of what it gives us as Subscribers, and some ideas in how we could improve this and eventually have more subbed players. As a quick presentation, I started with swtor in December of 2011, for some Months I played Jedi knight, loved the story and was doing some end content. My BF also was playing and he is a hardcore MMO player so he was in the "there is no content" movement at the time so he left and I left, without him the price of the subscription felt way to much for what we got. Came back on the F2P release. Tried it, and i just hated it. A few years ago in November swtor added a code that gave us the first 2 expansions, I give it a go, did the story it was fun for most part, then tried the 5 first chapters of KotFE. When i finished them i felt "this is star wars" and I instantly subscribed. I keep subscribed for a bit more than 2 years, with 2 or 3 months I unsubscribed because of work or because of a toxic pvp experience... When ossus released I was already waiting for that story. Did that, did pts for onslaught and did story for onslaught. Then I left to play other games because I was only playing swtor. After some time I tried to came back. But i hated the game again. I just did not understood what was the problem. It was like the game hated me and i was hating the game. So i concluded that: Game loops are very good (PVE, PVP or Starfighter),but lacks of rewards in general. Queues are supper unbalanced and brings a lot of frustration, I also fell that the pvp toxicity is in part because of this. Could not queue for OP + Uprising, made me fell like i was ripped off. (I still have problems now to queue for this content as subbed) Crafting fells horrible than already is, cant you just give a speed boost to subs but leave the system equal? Could not change gear, so what is the point of queuing? I bough the artifact authorization and the game felt totally different just with that. The galactic seasons helped a bit but I still fell I am not a premium player. So instead of "unlocking" the game for us, gave us premium features and goodies. Ex: Legacy crafting, to be able to craft from what we have unlocked in all chars. it could be limited tor comps that are at max level or something so that we work for it a bit. Shared Experience or Comp Unlock, so that if I give gifts the level is shared between chars, or do like in the beginning where maxing one comp would unlock it legacy wide. We could also have special quests for unlocks... Weekly/Daily legacy conquest objectives with premium rewards, like the new conquest objectives for the galactic seasons but to get other rewards: Ex: lv1 - Complete 5 FP; lv2 Complete 10 FP; lv3 Complete 20 FP; Ex: Play 30 times as bomber With good rewards in cartel coins, unlocks like ships,races, ultimate crates, etc... We pay monthly so i think we could receive always something monthly, and it could switch between various things: story unlocked races,special mounts or pets (like you already do) small contained story content like the HK one (this ERA is so good that you could even do a force vision type story where you play as Vader. So many possibilities exist here) extra cartel coins or ultimate crates in case you cant deliver any of the others For preferred/F2P players i think you could rethink them. Preferred are already your customers and F2P are potential costumers, at least in terms of a CRM perspective. For example if you used this players to fill the queues for all types of content subbed players like me don't have to wait almost a week to do 1 story uprising. You could also improve the activities windows to have highlighted activities and let the F2P only be able to do those ones. And give bonus rewards + renown for preferred and subbed. Limiting the content with a number its also fine, but give them quest or conquest objectives so they can get more opportunities. And to make them fill the queues. Ex: 20 completed fps => allows you to do one more OPs With the artifact authorization for all players there is a goal to keep queuing as prefered/F2P. If you want to limit this to prevent exploitation a quest where doing activities could grant them that. ex: do 100 group finder activities The rewards also could be unified a bit, of course having specific rewards for specific content is nice, but currently it fells like there is content not worth the trouble. Also you are part of a bigger company so if you have a good amount of preferred/F2P you can make galactic seasons promote EA/Bioware content, with thematic loot, and this players are even more valuable for you. Has potential costumers not only for SWTOR, but for all of EA. NOTE: I am a casual player so sorry if i said something wrong here, or something that already is improved and I did not notice it. Also my experience is only on the Darth Malgus server so it could be better on other servers or at a different time of day but i don't know. Kind Regards, NKarapinha
  24. I personally also would prefer this type of payment. Probably a bit lighter on the pricing than suggested, but still i think it would be nice to have this option...
