  1. You bring two good points: Class specific vs Class specific Vertical environments where traveling is not horizontally linear
  2. My point is to try to come up with ideas that might differentiate the PvP of the game. I know some of the ideas might "fit" better to other game types, and not necessarily even be compatible with an MMORPG, but irregardless anything is better than nothing. I wouldn't want any environment or game mode to cater specifically to any class, so they would have to be compatible so as to have all players be able to have fun.
  3. RIght now everything is centered around objective team-based PvP combat with only 3 maps to choose from. What about other game modes? I know that if this game had this level of PvP combat to offer there would be many players drooling for a killing, and a subscription! My point is to try to come up with ideas that might differentiate the PvP of the game. I know some of the ideas might "fit" better to other game types, and not necessarily even be compatible with an MMORPG, but irregardless anything is better than nothing. First we need more maps hands-down. Different environments to kill each other in and lots of them. Take a hint from non-mmorpg multi-player games: they don't have to be huge, but they should be creative, flow together well, and allow lots of killing. Secondly, different game modes?! A death match free-for-all with max frag count or time limit? A last man standing with time limit? A warzone that is open PvP where there is no time limit or frag count, an endless gladiator arena full of killing? Add in random NPC events where players can gain an upper hand for a limited time? Power ups? Hired mercenaries? Factions/Faction control? Guild vs. Guild battefield control points? Extend the current hutt-ball combat mode into traditional capture the flag settings? Create an in-game betting/gambling system where players can bet on fellow players to become their money making PvP champion? These are just some ideas, please discuss!
  4. I play sniper and don't really have an issue killing them. Sure it can take a little longer, and when 1 on 1 it can be a really close match resulting in my own death sometimes, but it isn't impossible. With a combination of knockbacks, stuns, and burst DPS it's game over.
  5. Yeah I didn't mean to isolate myself in saying that problems don't happen elsewhere. I understand there have been some issues. I think the issue is a lot of people rely on this as their main hobby so they are setting themselves up for a hard time when they put all their eggs in one basket. That's like investing in a Ferrari without a garage.
  6. 200mb is pretty small... What archaic piece of technology are you using? It's 2012, upgrade your ****. Buy a better connection. Too broke? Learn your **** and get a better job. Quit complaining about 200 megabytes. Seriously. Times have changed. Deal with it.
  7. Hmm... Haven't had any issues here? I patched up to 1.2 or whatever the other day, worked fine and I played fine. Logged in tonight and am downloading another patch, which is downloading fine. Have my SWTOR on all high settings with vertical sync and 50% shadows, no down time or issues there. Playing the game has been a dream honestly, it's really fun to play and it looks great. I do all this on an older laptop with 4gb ram and a nVidia GTX 260m. I work 40 hours a week and play a few hours a night, been playing every night since I got it last Friday I think. Had a couple glasses of wine and playing through the game last night, it was fun. So what is the issue? I don't really see the problem...
  8. What? You pay $14.95 a month. So... you want financial compensation for 1 day? You want BioWare to write you a check for 50 cents? LOL Get a job.
  9. Just bought the game this last Friday and waited through the long download. I'm glad I did! I played what felt like two days straight from Friday evening to Sunday evening going 20 levels deep into the Imperial Sniper. It has been a blast, I'm just loving the voice work, the cutscenes, the graphics and the scenery, etc. Personally, I'm thrilled with the game. I've heard a lot of backlash on the game but decided to give it a go anyway. So after reading bad reviews here and there on the internet and even having someone in game send me a whisper to tell me how buggy the game is I kept up my resolve and disregarded their opinions. I've had some people tell me that the end game and level 50 is what will define my viewpoint later on, but for now, I'm really enjoying the game and wanted to share that opinion with the community and the developers and support team. I really like everything about the game right now. I really want this game to succeed so that I can keep sinking play time and money into it because my life is really boring and I need my fix (lol). I saw the original Star Wars episodes when I was younger and also saw the newer movies and I feel like the SWTOR team really put effort into breathing new life into the property. To me it is like a combination of Star Wars and Mass Effect. Which is perfect because I am really sick and tired of playing fantasy MMORPG's. I bought WoW in 2004 when it was released and played that on and off again through all the different iterations until last year when I finally just got burnt out completely. I played a lot of other MMORPG's during that time as well, just couldn't stay committed. This game has for a small time so far given me new breath in gaming, which is exactly what I wanted. Knowing that the game is in its "infancy" is great because I know that it will just get better and expand more over time just like WoW did from when I started in 2004. Thank you for making such a fantastic game and working so hard despite I'm sure quite a few obstacles in your way. It has given me 20 levels and many hours of gameplay and I really haven't even scratched the surface yet.
