  1. I just experienced this issue and I would certainly qualify it as a bug given that all progress on multiple quests are lost without warning. This is extremely frustrating. All other MMOs I've played simply let you keep and complete the mission, even if it is a daily and the reset time is passed. You can't pick up a copy of the same mission of course. After you've completed the (daily) mission, you'd be free to pick it up again after a reset, if you choose. So it's not like this is an unsolved problem. It's just that the current implementation is faulty and leads to lost progress, often times hours of progress, without warning or explanation.
  2. It's July 2022 and this quest is still bugged. I've today run into the exact same issue and I'm stuck as a droid and not able to get out of the room. Serious question: why isn't Bioware able to fix quest progression bugs within years?
  3. Ah yes, you're right. I misread the date on that last bar. Indeed, the most recent week is concluded and it's even worse than I thought. Sad stuff, indeed it was only 39k, down from 80k 16 weeks earlier. Crazy.
  4. Yep that's because the 39k is so far this week. The 52k number is the most recent finished calendar week. That makes it comparable to the other weeks, e.g. the 80k players in the calendar week 16 weeks ago. Again, it does not make sense to consider the 39k number because that's part of this calendar week which is not yet completed. Rather, focus on the 80k to 52k drop based on the most recent calendar week.
  5. But is that something fundamental that has changed in the past 16 weeks? If not, there must be another reason for the decline in characters. What type of player installs a damage parser for SWTOR? I would assume mainly the hard core of players that have been playing for quite some time. If true, the very large drop in activity may indicate that many long-term subscribers have in the past 16 weeks stopped playing.
  6. Here are some real numbers showing the decline of SWTOR players. The numbers presented by ixparse.com show the number of characters (not players!) that have Starparse installed. This is certainly only a subset of the population. So please keep in mind, this is not the number of accounts but the number of toons (characters) and one account can have many toons. On the other hand, only a minority of players have StarParse installed. However, many (most?) of players who raid do have StarParse installed, but I don't know. To see the numbers, hover your mouse over the chart and you will see how many toons there were per week. Interestingly, we can see a decline from around 80k toons to around 52k toons in the past 16 weeks. http://ixparse.com/stats/?boss=&metric=Toons To reiterate, these numbers may give an indication of activity but do not reflect one-to-one the number of active accounts. One could speculate on the ratio of players who raid versus the number players who never raid, etc.
  7. Yes, so far this "balance pass" has made things worse for most players. I main a Madness Sorc and I'm even worse off now than before. It's clear from the extreme drop in activity even on TRE these past couple of months that people are generally not having as much fun (for a variety of reasons). One reason being awful "balancing" efforts. And indeed they said they knew some people would not be happy to be nerfed (which is obvious), but even the classes supposedly getting buffs are doing terribly. My impression from guild chat (in one of the largest guilds) is an overall negative response to these changes. Especially since BW asks for but does not listen to or respect player feedback. Still, it's only a minor aspect of why I'm letting my 3-month sub lapse. Other aspects than balance weigh more heavily for me personally (I don't enjoy the story after the class stories).
  8. Such improved communication... Still no dev response to the dramatically reduced acquisition of Refined Isotope Stabilizer?
  9. Again, you stated that the new Star Wars game is going to be an MMO, I responded that no, that's not going to be an MMO (and explained why). Are you still claiming it's going to be an MMO? If I interpreted you correctly, you were using that new Star Wars game as evidence against someone's claim that MMOs as a genre are in decline overall.
  10. That's not an MMO. It's an open-world action game, that means a game style similar to GTA, Red Dead Redemption, Assassin's Creed, etc. I checked all the sources you posted, none of them claim it's going to be an MMO. Here's a summary of game info: http://www.gamesradar.com/everything-we-know-about-viscerals-star-wars-game/ Regarding other points in this thread, yes the game is dying. I'm letting my sub lapse because I no longer find the game entertaining. I enjoyed the original class stories but not KOTFE/KOTET because those stories were not really Star Wars, they took away my companions, all my decisions were just ignored, I felt steamrolled, my character was a pure dark-sided Sith and a member of the dark council who would never (!) cooperate with the Republic. Further, after having played around 100 PvP matches (I know that's not so much) I have finally concluded that I dislike it enough to not be worth its rewards. I've never tried raiding because I feel stressed from that type of content. I gave detailed feedback in the survey when I cancelled my subscription and I certainly hope the devs keep updating the game as I would love to see it do well.
  11. This was fixed in 5.2.2. I got the Taspan Ace achievement today. Edit: I suppose it may only be available on Republic side.
  12. I have now again run into this bug. This type of bonus series bug blocks mission progress on Taris, Balmorra and Belsavis and it has been reported by hundreds of people since 2012! It's absurd that, despite some CS representative acknowledging the bug, it is still not fixed! @Eric Community Manager, can you please let us know if this is being fixed in an upcoming patch?
  13. Well said! I completely agree. I hope it was simply an oversight that speeder ranks 4 and 5 are not yet at the class trainers for free the same way ranks 1-3 are.
  14. OK so the speeds are not working (why oh why was this not tested by BW?!) but where can I get the speeds though? Normally we get speeder ranks at our class trainer and I tried that. Rank 4 and 5 are not available there, only 1-3. Anyone knows if R4 and 5 are available at a different trainer or something?
  15. Yes I experienced the same issue. Was horrible to look at, seriously.
