PVP Records on the Shadowlands (4.0+)
DawgPoundSwag replied to IndestructibleSD's topic in The Shadowlands
http://imgur.com/NimLgxJ My grab of that same game. Whole thing was a parse lol. 5 healers. 3 tanks with over 1mil+ damage and protection. "%#&@ that, I'm not targeting Saber" -
I don't have any #'s or comps but, we will be fielding teams. Hopeful for a large turnout for this!

I run pure Defense/Immortal in PvP and here's how I gear for it. Endurance>>Shield>Absorb>>>Defense Augment for endurance as well. As others have stated, endurance is the primary stat for PvP tanking, not mitigation as a large portion of incoming damage can't be mitigated anyway. As for absorb/defense distribution, I only take 3 or 4 pieces of defense to get right around 11%. This is really just to proc riposte/retaliation more reliably. As an aside, I am currently working on a B mod, heavy endurance enhancement, power/alacrity set with full endurance augments. Results are still out but I can say that the early returns are very promising!

Not certain on your gearing but, to get 1300 shield from a 186/192 mix seems quite odd. I'm almost in full raid 192s and only have 1100 shield. That's with shield on every piece except relics. And at that budget, my distribution follows the KBN guides to mitigation. 1500 Defense > 1100 Shield > 1000 Absorb. Not able to link it atm but, look in the Roles subforum. I know this much, my healer buddy has a much, much easier time now thanks to me optimizing my mitigation stats. I'm sure your healers will also be most appreciative.

Shoutouts to Ascendant, Penetration, and The Gray Order for the ranked action tonight. Hopefully a sign of things to come!

39k is not all that uncommon for a geared tank in PvP. I've only acquired a few Conq tank pieces and currently sit at just over 38k with stim. There's at least 2 PvP tanks, one Jugg and one PT sitting at almost 40k on the Shadowlands. 39k? Not that crazy.

No way. The good ones are already hard enough to kill. Healing is the last thing that needs a buff.
-
Pretty much. Come to think of it, isn't that the point of all e-peen threads though?

No worries broseph. I know you're a strong player who knows the ins and outs. Can't remember ever having to battle against you though. Usually we end up on the same team lol. TBH, if I had a gun to my head and was forced to pick names, they'd prob all be Pubs since it's usually an Undercon, ROTJ, or Carnage premade that stomps whatever pug I'm grouped with. As far as Imps go, rarely do I seem to get matched on the short end of Imp v Imp... Guess I'm just lucky like that. A complete list of the awesome pvp'ers from SL would probably never be complete. Everyone has biases and favorites. That's just the way of things. There's certainly a few exceptional talents here in the SL though, and I think the cream of the crop is pretty well known by all.

what are you leveling tomorrow in the double xp weekend?
DawgPoundSwag replied to astrobearx's topic in General Discussion
3 40+ toons I'd really like to break at least 50 on. Here's to a long and prosperous weekend! -
Any other leapers falling short of their destination?
DawgPoundSwag replied to madcappah's topic in Bug Reports
Having same issue. Came here to this forum to report and what do I find? Glad it's not just me. /signed -
Nothin but love b. Halex, you drunk *** bastage lol. Think you stirred something up with this thread. There are A LOT of solid to great pvp'ers on this server. Had the pleasure of getting my *** handed to me by some of the best. I'm just gonna drop some toon names who I feel are insanely tough to take out: Krath, Donna, Becky, Cropduster, Getz, Churb, Halex, Ruh, Merkave, Huggernaut, Corden, Teelo, Kyarra, Zoots. By no means is that an end-all-be-all, just a slice of the really strong group of pvp'ers I've faced off against on this server. (No slights intended) I know we are all looking to transfers to satiate the desires for ranked competition. I'm on the fence about it myself. Wanna see how it's gonna work out with legacy/unlocks etc. My fear is that when transfers do come, the strength of this community may go with it. Hopefully, not all these names being dropped choose to hi-tail it for the greener grass. I would miss the challenge of competing against such strong opponents.

Almost 2k weapon damage lulz. Lolster indeed.

Augusta represent! Been playing Imp side since launch. Started on The Razor, but am now a resident of The Shadowlands. Send me a tell or e-mail in game to one of my toons.

Why this stuff doesn't get insta-stickied, I'll never know. Thanks, as always. -
Yo, BW, put out a date for Gree Event returning.
DawgPoundSwag replied to BurnedRemains's topic in General Discussion
Just saw a tweet from @SWTOR that the Gree Event is returning with tomorrow's patch. -
Ran into this guy today. He is tough as hell to kill.

Immortal jugg pvp dps or tanking gear?
DawgPoundSwag replied to LockOdinson's topic in Guardian / Juggernaut
Hmm I'm glad I found this thread. I'm in the process of creating a good WH set for my Immortal Jugg using the Vindicator's set bonus. What kind of numbers should I be aiming for as it relates to defense, shield, and absorbtion? -
Well played Veng/Vig can be a huge pita to deal with.

My hat off to people who play dedicated tanks

This post, and in particular, this quote, is so full of win, I had to snag it. Great topic all around and shoutout to the deeps and heals who allow us to do our thing!
