  1. I have little doubt that SWTOR is growing fast, but showing only showing 1 reading from 1 server from each game at only one specific time is not reliable evidence. What would be reliable: Taking a couple dozen servers taken evenly across multiple regions i.e. North America and Europe on both games. Take a reading from each server every day over the course of a week. Take readings during peak times. Obviously this would take considerable effort and several people but could be justifiably called reliable evidence.
  2. People are seriously insane in the membrane if they think this mmo is losing subs. If an mmo like STO can stay around for 2 years and stagnate in terms of subscribers, then SWTOR has nothing to worry about. Personal experience from gameplay from one server is not a good substitute for actual facts, statistics and MMO genre history. The latter completely conflicts with your doomsday drama pseudo-logic theory of "omg my fleet and server is lower on players therefore the game is losing subcribers and dieing"
  3. Since the space missions in this game are ridiculously easy when properly equipped, new ships would be just over kill unless the changes would be purely visual. The whole space combat is a fun mini-game (albeit a fun one) but that's as far as it goes and completely lacks depth. I hope in some expansion down the road they add to it and get away from this feeling of being 'tacked on' it currently has.

    Is SWTOR dying?

If a game like STO can do okay for 2 years on a pay to play model with a much smaller dev company behind it, (30 employees) and much less money backing it then TOR has nothing to worry about. Not to mention, SWTOR is almost superior in every conceivable way to STO even in its current form. STO has a significant lack of content on the federation side and feels very much like a grind even with the large decrease in XP to level. The Klingons are still only half built as a faction even after 2 years of development and are still very grindy and both factions are suffering from a lack of end game content. I think a very understated problem with SWTOR is the lack of a trial. They say when running a store getting them in the front door is half the battle. BW are currently charging people 40-50 euro just for people to TRY to see if they like the game, which I think is a significant deterrent in getting new players.
