  1. Ok i'm going to say it.... BW/EA owe us all a 6pack of our choice for putting up with this Bullsh*t. Really..... on a fu*king Friday!!!!!!!! Screw you guys.
  2. No no, I am more than willing to agree to disagree Compromise is an achievable outcome, but your relentless disagreeing achieves nothing. Not once have you actually put forward an idea or suggestion that would benefit everyone. Although, I did get a good laugh out of the kangaroo and drop bears you mentioned earlier on in the thread. There is a reason my signature is the Oxford dictionary definition of the word 'forum'.
  3. So why spend so much time trying to devalue our opinion?
  4. ...And yet here you are doing exactly that. Posting a poorly thought out response multiple times and expecting everyone to just cease voicing their opinions... Wake up man, I'm pretty sure it's 2012 and we are in the tech age, not 2001 and still on dial-up. If your so amused at the consistency of this topic when nothing changes, what makes you think the topic would just fade away to a pipe dream so suddenly?? That's like expecting the laws of physics to just suddenly cease to apply.
  5. So you think we shouldn't subscribe at all?? Come on man, that's hardly a fair analogy. I get what your saying, and I cant say it's not a valid point, but seriously?? Why should some of us have to totally miss out just because 1 region is favored above all others.
  6. We're going to say: "Suck it up...That's what you told us to do, now practice what you preach!!" Those who showed some understanding will naturally get our full moral support.... that's how understanding works... check it out sometime.
  7. I think your missing the point man, it's not about ONE day a week where we cant play, it's about the fact that many of us only have a few hours on certain days a week to play and for a lot of us one of those days just happens to be a patch day. Lets say for example you did your 16 hours a day for a month, and then got Monday and Tuesday or Tuesday and Wednesday off. You'd think to yourself "Great, here's a chance to play that new star wars game in the afternoons once I've spent the day catching up on all the housework and associated chores I haven't been able to do 'cos I have been working 16 hours a day for a month and have had only 8 hours left to myself each day, at least 6 of which were spent on sleep". Then 'Bang' server goes down just as you finish dinner and sit down at your computer.... You to would think all of the aforementioned posts regarding this were totally valid, rather than make out like you know whats best for the company, or why they cant do rotating shifts, etc.
  8. YOU would flip out! Some of us who have to work each day to get a project completed are faced with that scenario every day, I get it all the time, not just on Tuesdays either my weekends are often used for project completion on a job site 3 hours away, and it's not difficult at all. For doing this we get paid accordingly + overtime and then given 2 days off. If one finds difficulty trying handle their current job, it's probably time to exhaust career options elsewhere.
  9. Incorrect, large companies do this to you know? I work for a globally based company that has offices all over the world, rotating schedules are just part of the job. Do you really think EA/Bioware directors are paying attention to what time every worker shows up? I honestly don't believe you have the knowledge and insight to make a comment like that and expect anyone to believe that you somehow know how every company runs it's day to day business? AND, when it's 6pm, that means it's getting dark here & I've been outside for 12hours, battling poisonous critters and crocs for quite a lengthy period on one of those good weeks where I get to work during the day. Obviously you actually know nothing of this place.
  10. Ummm... Would you believe that some companies actually do rotating schedules?? A few of them aren't even big companies at all.
  11. Ok, you started off by saying that's your guess, then finished by trying to tell me what my options are, based purely on your guess. There are so many things wrong with that, even on the most fundamental levels, I find it difficult to even begin, but here goes... Firstly. As far as changing their entire work, sleep and social schedule for patch days, I think you overlooked the fact that with the current scenario many of us players are expected to do the same. We pay to purchase the key and play, they get paid to provide the goods and service. Simple as that. I respect their right to modify/enhance etc, but my right to ask the question why its done in a manner that adversely affects some of us should also be respected. For those who play on non local PvP servers this particular timing is bad, since other regions will be able to get that extra leveling done every patch day. After 6/9/12 months this will create a noticeable gap in levels, gear and rank etc, Only to be griefed later on down the track by those who have had the upper hand and think that the term "Pwning Noobs" means relentlessly killing someone 10 levels below them. We all know it'll only be a matter of time... Secondly. I too have to work night shift on occasions when I am asked to perform duties during the late hours of the evening, sometimes I even have to work weekends as well. I do it because it's my job and I get paid to do it. You think that because they are a software company, they don't have to do night shift?? Thirdly. Where do you get your information on the company's economic feasibility to be in position to say what they can and can't do? Since you obviously don't work for EA or Bioware, I feel obliged to question your source and credibility for this info. Fourth. No, I personally don't feel like a second class subscriber because of where I live. It's my home country, I was born here and didn't have a choice in the matter, but like many of the other posters I just ask "Why is this so?" hoping/waiting for a GM/DEV/REP to give an answer or shed some light on the matter... heck they may even engage in conversation with us and share ideas... Fifth and final. Damn straight I have the right to comment!! I have owned the game for 3 whole days now and the second day I owned it was a patch day, no problem.. I'll discuss this with my fellow gamers, hear out their ideas and throw some ideas of my own out there, almost like an open forum for people to meet up, chat and discuss things online... which is exactly what happened. If you think this topic has been flogged to death, don't click on the topic link... Pretty easy huh? It takes very little effort to scroll past, AND you don't have to hear/read about a topic your obviously bored with.
  12. Firstly, OP asked why? a lot of the responses aren't actually answers to the question, just a statement saying "Learn to deal with it". Doesnt really shed any light on the question asked. I can not understand why Aus/Euro prime time is the one most active time that gets affected by these updates. Seems a little unfair and shortsighted on the planning side. Population has nothing to do with it, we paid as much as anyone else to purchase and subscribe. We Aussies and the Euro's are a fair bunch and I think that if the server maintenance was staggered so that if a region is going to have their prime time affected it's not the same region every time. Change it up a bit so that every region has to experience a prime time outage, at least THAT would be fair. Or is asking for fairness like trying to network a dictionary with a book case??
  13. Ok... well then I'm sorry I asked for some level of fairness that would benefit EVERYONE?? Are you by any chance German??
  14. I strongly agree with both of the above posts. I can not understand why OUR prime time is the one most active time that gets affected by these updates. Seems a little unfair and shortsighted on the planning side. Population has nothing to do with it, we paid as much as anyone else to purchase and subscribe. We Aussies are a fair bunch and I think that if the server maintenance was staggered so that if a region is going to have their prime time affected it's not the same region every time. Change it up a bit so that every region has to experience a prime time outage, at least THAT would be fair. Or is asking for fairness like trying to network a dictionary with a book case??
