  1. I tell Quinn to man up, but he never does. I punch him a lot. It gives me pleasure.
  2. There is no such thing as purple lightsaber crystals in SW lore. Samuel L. Jackson demanded one, if he were to play Mace Windu. Oh, and Yoda was General Windu, a human, in the original SW script. And Chewie was inspired by GL's dog, "Indiana". Guess what that name led to....
  3. If you're going to start over, you might as well do it in a new game. Or, re-roll again after another 6 months. Up to you.
  4. Mergers don't fix why people have left to begin with since launch. Great, the illusion is back, that servers are full. But for how long? If it takes this long to figure out how to merge servers, then imagine how long it will take to fix the reasons people left in the first place.
  5. @JC Hey, I forgot to ask you something. I said that I'm here for the Star Wars. Why are you here? SW fan? Bioware fan? Both? MMOs in general? I'm asking because I just want to know what's keeping you here or maybe better put, brought you here. It is hard for me to walk away because I'm a Star Wars fan. I really wanted it to do better. But, with news like EA CEO saying that this game isn't that important, layoffs, huge loss in subs, game reviews have all but stopped, customer service; don't you see the writing on the wall? As a veteran, you have witnessed these things before (Vanguard, STO, AOC, WAR). You don't think SWTOR is heading the same direction? That being maintenance mode or worse. Not to mention talk about F2P from some around here and other sites. This doesn't seem familiar to you?
  6. Dude, if you re-rolled Fatman as a Rep, lol. It would be like PVP Christmas for you.
  7. Why are you guys doing this to yourselves?
  8. Ok, I see where you stand now. You make good points that I can agree with. But, I will point out two things that I didn't. The first on being that WOW hoop-la was all on the EA CEO. There was a thread here which was deleted but can be easily found across the internet and YouTube about a Dev talking about Alderaan being the size of 7-8 zones in WOW. I think over the years there were a few more statements comparing the game with WOW from the Devs. But I will not refute that this was mainly from EA. Not saying that you are wrong, but Bioware doesn't really have clean hands. "It's condition". I've been playing games a long time too. I understand what you are saying. Nobody can implement every feature from every modern game. And most games that we have played have started out pretty stale in comparison. But at the time, back in 2000, were they stale, or freaking awesome? The MMO genre ten years ago was pretty cool to me. But, it's 2012 now. And there are more than four MMOs on the market. Perfect example, not that you need one, because I think we see each other's POV. But for lurkers, I have a condo that I'm going to sell when I finish my obligations in this State. 6 more condos are currently for sale. They all look the same inside and out. Except, I put in new wood flooring, carpet, tile, windows, sliding backdoor, etc etc. (for real I did this). Guess who's going to sell first? I have incentive. I have features. Anyways, didn't mean to bring personal experiences into this, but I thought it fit. I'm glad you and I got to discuss our opposing views in a civil manner. I only wished that our priorities were your priorities, as a community. Maybe we wouldn't have to worry about transfers and merges, etc etc.
  9. So are people here for the Star Wars IP or Bioware? Maybe both in some cases? Either way, regardless of your opinion or mine, there are a lot of people interested in this game just because it says "Star Wars" on it. I am one of them. Also, we don't know how much was spent and how they spent it. Even though I agree with you, I think it was mostly blown on VO. We know this now. But not in the years leading up to the release. In the years leading up to the release, Bioware boasted for years that it was going to compete with WOW. A MMO with the Star Wars IP, hundreds of millions in startup capital setting its sights on WOW. Sounds like a good game. So wouldn't the average Joe expect that SWTOR to at least have features or improve upon the features of the game they were competing against? Maybe people are a little let down that they are playing a 2012 MMO with 2005 features (or lack there of). A MMO that you're stuck having to compare to Rift now, I might add. Where's the SWTOR with the hype and disingenuous weekly articles from all the Gaming Review Sites before launch? I want to play that SWTOR, not this one. Is it a good idea to release a game, no matter the IP or funding, in this condition when so many others are coming out?
  10. No need to be rude. I was curious and your post was pretty darn detailed with numbers and dates. Care to address what I said that wasn't a side note? I noticed you skipped right past that part.
  11. SWTOR has the Star Wars IP and hundreds of millions in startup capital. Billions in merchandise. 6 movies. Cartoon series. Prime Time Holiday Specials. Books. Millions of Fans across the entire planet for over 30 years. Rift started out with..... On a side note, did you dig up those creepy facts at work or during play time?
  12. You mean like, what if Blizzard or CCP made SWTOR, instead of EAware?
  13. Not me. I'm not returning until after things get implemented. Not talked about in a Gaming Review Site interview.. Not Tweeted. Not cinematic podcasts. Not even patch notes. Implemented.
  14. Ah, gotcha. Well, that's going to take a little more thought than what I posted earlier. Interesting topic though.
  15. I just wanted a link that backed up your claim. I didn't know it was going to cause you so much trouble. *shrugs*
  16. A long time ago. I use to play a game that no matter how hard I played or how I planned, I still couldn't get the best stuff the game had to offer. Did that bother me? No. I had the fun I wanted and didn't want to be a hermit. Did I get jealous of the one guy on the server walking by with the only "Sword of Cupcake and Bunny Slaying Doom"? No. When I saw those type of players, I thought it was freaking awesome.
  17. Hmm, nope. Didn't see anything from the Devs stating that they can't add content because they are too busy working on server merges, as you are claiming. In fact, server merges were not even brought up at all. Looks like you're going to have to "que up for Reaper" again and find a link that backs up your claim.
  18. I'll look at any link which backs up your claim that a Bioware Dev states that they have been too busy working on server mergers for months since launch and is why no content has been released. Your claim. Your burden of proof. I'm more than willing to wait.
  19. Well, find them. Because I didn't find one Dev stating that they can't work on content because they were too busy working on server merges. I'll copy and paste the full list of what they were working on. What we learned from the interview… - Confirmation that Same-Faction vs. Same-Faction gameplay will be in the upcoming Warzone. (Like Huttball) - The UI Customization in the “Coming to TOR” Video was just a glimpse of what the Dev Team is working on. - Mods and Macros aren’t off the table and may be implemented in the future and UI customization remains one of BioWare’s highest priorities. - Confirmation that the “Legacy System” will carry over specific races between the two factions. (NEW Race & Class Combinations) - Character Copies will be available to the PTS in the future so players can test the game on their own toons. - Today Bug Fixing is currently BioWare’s main focus on SW:TOR with a number of Devs still developing much upcoming content. - On the agenda tweaks and changes will be coming to Crew Skills and the “GTN” (Galactic Trade Network). - Guild Ships remain on the table of discussion with BioWare Developers, however, no guarantee a “guild space/area” will be implemented as a guild ship…guild halls and guild housing have also been discussed. - The Guild Headquarters that was on the forums in the past will be returning and it will be better. Along with that BioWare is considering other potential elements seen from other MMOs to be implemented on SWTOR.com in the future. Maybe an armory?! From your link, no server merges, all content.
  20. EVE didn't loose 50% of potential customers that have bought their game either. And those dips were just that, dips.
  21. Any links to Bioware stating that they have been working all these months on server merges? I'd like to see this link.
  22. Well, I get the feeling that many people happy right now actually believe that merging servers is going to fix our problems. Which encourages Bioware to think they are doing things right. And that is why, I have lost all hope (not counting all the bad events in the press).
