  1. Not sure we are playing the same game, if you actually do any crafting then you would know that the commendation Mods offer more End stat than primary stat. Sorry not able to log in to my account atm but for instance at Nar Shaddaa level of mods. The crafted ones will have like 23str 14end as to the ones bought from the vendor/commendations will have 14str/23end. Have yet to make a purple Armoring mod with my cybertech guy so not sure if they are even possible. But if a Crafter can make purple level armoring mods then they are going to be far better than anything you will obtain during your leveling process....not end game yet so not sure about that. But I know I prefer my primary stat over endurance, and if possible will always go with blue mods from a crafter( cybertech).
  2. Use him to craft items not run missions. He does seem to crit more than my other companions when I use him to craft my items. I had the same experience with you as far as sending him out to gather, run missions.
  3. thanks for the reply. It was Str/End Force. I am glad to know str is the stat for Guardians, I am sure over the next few weeks I will learn more and more about the game.
  4. Thanks for not flamming me for a silly questions all who responded. I figured the shield equips out last night because I was messing around with Artificing. And as I was getting a grip on how the off-hand gear works I was thinking of how silly my question was that I posted on the forums. Lost a roll on a blue shield last night to a trooper, not sure why the trooper rolled need on a shield with Force on it but oh well. We were running Athesis ( prob not spelled right but the level 21 Flashpoint). Thanks for the replies and clarification on shields.
  5. Hello to all that graze past this thread. I am a new player to the game, am working on a Jedi Guardian on Nathema server. Currently at level 24, will be 25 soon enough. My main question is the given shield generator in your off hand that you are granted after you choose your specialization grants a 5% shield chance and 20% shield absorption rating on it. Now all the generators I have run across have better stats than the beginning one except for the generation and absorption chance. My main question is there going to be a shield generator that will replace this? Is that 5% and 20% bonuses more important than Force and End/Str stats? For tanking in PvE primarily atm. Thanks for any response.
  6. Thanks for your insight sir. I have the feeling this is one game I will stay on. Sure a few months or so and I will not be on every free second but I will still be around and play.
  7. I like the way the system works because I set the appearance of my companion and do not have to worry about it changing every time I do an upgrade. They make the cosmetic look different so we can set the appearance and not have it change every time we change an item on the pet, in the long run the way the system is set up for companion appearance is really good.
  8. Sorry to hear about the personal attacks and name calling, that gets old I know, reason I try to stay off the forums for the most part. Or just put on my troll repellent when I do jump on the forums. I do understand the game is all new and shiny to me, but the experience so far is great, at first I started a trooper and did not really get into the game, started a jedi and due to the glowie boken was a little turned off( Buddy pushed me to get to 10 and get the lightsaber), after the quest leading to the light saber I thought this game was pretty cool imo. My list of positives so far.....the great depth of story that you follow per character to reach end game ( no I have not even reached lvl 20 yet~ due to starting alts). The crafting system just rocks imo, the fact that you get your new and upgraded schematics from RE is way awesome in my book. The companion system simply put is the best pet system I have to experience in an MMO....have been around in MMO's since the Evercrack days. The negatives to me so far....the glitchy grouping system....buddy joined after my group was on a mission and it made him port right outside the entrance but could not enter it. But that was only once it was real confusing. Reason I posted in this thread instead of the noobs area is to sorta say" Hey guys new players are joining." I am sure there are plenty of bandwagon gamers that have moved on, but that population does that with every new game that is released.
  9. that is really great to hear. I look forward to the fun.
  10. I am a new player, well a two week old player and I also had two more friends pick up the game. So far we all really dig it, the crafting is really great....yea yea I know end game crafting beyond boichem is supposedly pointless.....but that will not deter me from becoming a master cyber-technician....but seriously even if all the other crafts are a bit pointless I totally dig the system and will continue to use it. My small band of rebels chose Nathema as our server. Due to when we were choosing a server it was one of the ones that had low population. Got to love the "Chicken Littles" on the the forums, go to any game and look at posts about 2 or 3 months after it's release. Yea the newness of the game wears off after a few weeks/months so people tend to not be on all day and all night. The way of the vidiot right. Go Hardcore to try n be first then chill after you fail or succeed. Just my two cents. Just wanted to throw in there that Bioware has earned a reputation of being one of the best game producers in the industry at this time. This being their first shot at an MMO I think they have done a solid job....and expect the game to just get better as it goes along. Just a voice to say hey I am a two week old player. So do I and my band of rebels count as population growth?
  11. If your doing comparisons of whom is stronger...light or dark I only have one name for you OBI-WAN KENOBI nuff said.
