  1. My bad then, I understand that had Disney not bought Star Wars, the events of that book would have unfortunately happened in one way or another. But I still think Disney is equally reponsible for allowing that book to be written and published. Just because they inherited that mistake it doesn't mean they had to go along with it. They wouldn't do that with their new canon (or at least I hope).
  2. The book was released in 2015 and therefore it is part of the disney canon, and supposedly approved by them. They could have cancelled it like so many other things. I said that it's not entirely true that Disney is treating the EU with respect, that doesn't mean that I think that what came before did (it didn't). But that is not a matter for this thread. I don't know, you can leave to the authors thanking this or that person for helping, but crediting the original creators? That should have been mandatory, if that's not lack of respect I don't know what it is. I don't know whose fault it was, but at least the editors should have caught that. I'm not blaming Disney directly, but it's a Disney Star Wars book.
  3. The book is called Dark Disciple. You can read the summary on the wookiepedia to see that it clearly doesn't fit with the story of the Republic comics. This quote by John Ostrander was suprisingly easy to find: If you've watched the clone wars series you'll remember his silly little appearance that was out of character, apparently this book was the continuation. I personally can't find a good reason to explain why didn't they use a new character if they wanted to tell a new story.
  4. What they did with Thrawn was respectful because they hired Zahn to write more books about him. I haven't read them yet, but I believe the characterization is similar and he wrote the new books with the old ones in mind. There are incompatibilities due to the change of continuity, but Thrawn is still Thrawn. That is respectful. However what is not respectful is what they did with Quinlan Vos. Take a EU created character, keep the name and a certain resemblance, but then change the story and characterization, and make it canon, supposedly invalidating the original one. Add to that that they did not even credit or thank the original authors anywhere, and I wonder, at that point, why not just create a new character? Dropping EU names and references is not respectful by itself.
  5. Personally I don't mind cartel market items inspired on Disney's Star Wars. Small references are fine as well, although if they're going to reference something, I'd rather it were from the EU. I don't follow most of the disney canon anyway (I still have too much EU stuff left to read), so I don't think I would get the references. Story elements, new planets, history and visual aspects of those planets, I really hope those keep following the EU continuity. I was already quite disappointed that Onderon is based on the clone wars version instead of the one from Tales of the Jedi. But so far I think they are doing it pretty well anyway, using some of the existent stuff to keep it grounded on the EU, and expanding it even more with new locations and stories, like Mek-Sha. I kind of feel like the OP (although not as passionately), that this game is the last bit of EU that is being written, and I'd like it to stay that way. There's already tons of Disney canon being created for those who enjoy it. There's no need for it to take over the last piece of EU.
  6. Choza Raabat as a romance option it is then. He is a follower, male and a jedi, he's perfect.
  7. That's the way I see it as well. I was expecting filler story and i don't mind it, it was good enough, not in every chapter can something spectacular happen. But they need to compensate it with more interesting gameplay, like better fights, creative level design, puzzles or even some platforming. The combination of filler story with filler repetitive fights is what feels underwhelming and makes me fall asleep on my keyboard while playing.
  8. I hope it's this way because they're still temporary companions, otherwise, terrible design decison. I won't be using any of the new companions if I can't customise how they look, there are too many clones on Odessen already. It surprises me they don't think it's going to affect their cartel packs sales, most of the gear I get is for companions.
  9. I personally decided to play it as a vanguard. None of my jedi would ever ally themselves with the sith to defeat another empire or put jedi and sith together in one force enclave, too tempting for the padawans. The warrior and inquisitor could work, but it seems that their power has been reduced to Lana Beniko's level. Non force users feel better in my opinion, it feels like you're dealing with things that you don't understand and are way out of your league, and makes sense to end up accepting Valkorion's power. Out of the 4 non force using classes I think the trooper is the one who better fits the position of Commander.
  10. She's like a sentinel from the Kotor games, just like Bastila
  11. I think he forgot to finish the sentence. The intention is probably for players to be able to solo heroic 2s if they know how to play properly, using their cc, and even their heroic moment and unity for the champion fights. Personally, I think they should have buffed enemy damage instead of reducing companion healing, but something had to be done. I got the one and only title while still wearing greens and with a level 5 affection companion, that's no achievement.
  12. Nice job! Back when I soloed Kaon at level 50 what I did was to skip the turret fight by staying on top of some rubble, I was never able to do it legitimately. The final boss was probably my favourite though. Soloing hm flashpoints were the best moments I've had while playing this game. The only reason I have for getting my companions to level 50 affection is to do it once again. It's probably even better now that the cooldown for the heroic moment is much shorter.
  13. This is nothing new, one of the reasons why I stopped playing was that I did literally fall asleep more than once while doing dailies. The only fun solo gameplay has always been trying to solo group content like hm flashpoints. They should really do something about it and make gameplay more interesting. One thing is to like the story, another very different thing is to want to play a visual novel, story by itself isn't enough. Unfortunately people (and Bioware) seem to confuse soloers with "casuals" that don't know how to play.
  14. To be honest, I don't see why those guilds are any worse than most guilds/players in this game. Including myself.
  15. I still don't undertand why don't you find it more fun 1 on 1. Why 4 vs 1? You guys kept killing me while I was waiting for my 1500 ms lag to get fixed (I know I provoked as well, I was bored). I don't care, but it doesn't make me love you either.
  16. This is something I wrote as part of my unsub comment. I stoped raiding after chirstmas, and have been subscribed almost since launch: "Some things that would make me subscribe again could be more class story content or some form of solo challenging end game, like solo operations. The latter, I don't expect to see, but I think it would fit with the grindy end game pve focus of the game, while allowing players to time their playtime as they see fit. Not that many people can play for 3 or 4 hours straight. To give an example, soloing level 50 hard mode flashpoints with dread guard gear has been one of the best experiences for me in the game. It would be nice to be able to access that kind of gameplay without having to group for 8/16 man operations first." You asume a lot. This is exactly what I'd like to have, the effect might be the contrary of what you think.
  17. Midean - Sage: 1727.83 dps http://i.imgbox.com/abhLydGm.jpg
  18. If I'm not mistaken, the space reputation vendor is the only one that doesn't sell a dye schematic, that shows how much they care. That said, I don't know what bugs the OP is talking about. Rogue Squadron / Rogue Leader kind of missions would be fantastic, but I don't see it happening. Space missions are fun enough as they are right now imo. I'd rather have more mini games, like swoop racing before they revamp the only existing one.
  19. There is no interesting solo end game content other than the challenges you might give yourself, like soloing hm flashpoints. But for that you need end game gear, both for you and your companion, so you could say that you need to group first to be able to solo. Quite unfortunate imo
  20. I don't have any software for recording and I doubt my pc would be able to handle it, and tbh, the fleet dummy rule already puts us with lower end pc's at a disadvantage. I'm not going to post anything after 2.0, so my opinion doesn't really matter, but I doubt I'm an isolated case. Appearing on this list is not worth the trouble of downloading, recording and uploading anything, sorry The way I see it, if someone has any claims against a player's log, an easy way to check would be whisper him in game, meet at the dummy and have him use his basic attack for like 1 min. Finally compare those numbers with the ones of the actual log to see if the dummy had an armour debuff it shouldn't have or not.
  21. Are you getting worse results with more accuracy? I find it surprising that you're not taking that 1% from the skill tree at least. I tried myself swapping an accuracy enhancement for an alacrity one. What happened was that I missed a force in balance and a couple of times weaken mind didn't properly apply and I had to cast it again, messing with my force even more. Maybe the top damage for a lucky log will be higher, but the way I see it, damage will be less consistent if you don't go for 100% accuracy. On another note, I'm amazed at the amount of disturbance casts you were able to fit in 5 min, 31 vs the 13 I did. I thought not being able to cast mind crush on cooldown would be a dps loss, so I tried not to cast disturbace if mind crush was going to be available in less than 5 secs. But maybe that's not the case, it's hard to tell with all the gear differences.

  23. Here's what I've tried Balance (3/7/36): http://www.torparse.com/a/149534/time/1362140263/1362140563/0/Damage+Dealt 2508 after 5 min I tried two times with the nano stim, getting similar results in both tries. Ended up with almost 0 force after 6 min, I doubt i could have continued for more than 7. I'm using level 50 augments except for implants and ear, nano stim, rakata adrenal, ewh relics crit rating: 243 (25.22%) alacrity: 0 surge: 288 (67.61%) accuracy: 432 I tried with hybrid as well, but wasn't able to get past around 2430. I'm glad with the changes because the class is more fun to play now, with a couple more abilities to use (no idea about telekinetics), but unless I'm doing something wrong, balance still has force issues, which is a shame. I tried with an alacrity enhancement and putting 2 points in the seer tree, but I didn't get any noticeable differences. As for how we compare with other classes, the only other I tried is lethality operative which does around 100 dps more (more or less how it is currently)
  24. I'm glad you changed this, now you can put something in the operative section: Character Name: Virenescha <Forsaken Gamers> (the imperial version) Character Class: Operative Character Spec: 3 - 7 - 31 Lethality Torparse Link: http://www.torparse.com/a/128041/time/1360428232/1360428533/0/Overview AMR Profile: don't have one 1901 if you allow us to cut the start, 1840 if you don't. Gear is only 61, so I hope to see better logs from other players
