  1. certain classes that cast, feel fine as they are actively doing something per second. however certain classes which rely on their "auto attack ability" feel slow and clunky, wouldnt it be possible to give these classes auto attack, while removing their "standard attack" so it feels more like your damaging but activating special abilities whilst attacking? or is this concept too much
  2. i have a sorc, so i know this OP is just whining about easy mode. ive got other classes too, and the simplicity of current sorcs is in stark contrast to most other classes. (apart from commando/merc
  3. been trying to search for a thread with this information, but the search on these forums dont seem to be able to search for groups of words. so my question is, why are there no server forums? there seems to be a serious lack of server community because of this..
  4. i unsubbed, and timed it badly as i have 26 days left on my sub! but i doubt i will use any of it, as i havent logged in since i unsubbed. Just wanted to voice my opinion on why i left, its because its gameplay is the same as wow, the voice overs, questing was great and i enjoyed it thoroughly compared to other MMOs ive played. However the end game is just the same, the combat (which i overlooked due to the quests) is even more dull than WoW, because there is no auto attacking, meaning it feels like your character is doing alot of nothing (unless you cast spells/powers) so for me the combat is mediocre at best and not engaging/exciting. nor are the game modes or flashpoints enjoyable to play through. Without any loot in the game, would anyone play it? MOBA games are enjoyable to play without incentive, so are FPS games, strategy games etc. But swtor just isnt part of that pie. unfortunate! because i know alot of work went into this game! But gameplay mechanics are the core of mmos, not story. shame really
  5. i just want to see FFA death matches, or something chaotic like that which is fun to drop in to play.
  6. the engine isnt optimised very well, in my case too There seems to be memory leak issues, in cases where alot of people arrive the framerate drops to a crawl, ive never had this since i played wow 4 years ago with 1 gig ram. but as soon as i log back in the issue has cleared up somewhat and its playable. when playing in an area for too long, framerates drop and loading takes even longer than before. so im guessing there are some memory issues.
  7. a weapon can do as much damage as a force user. such as a rocket, grenade etc. also, a force user can only deflect so much blaster fire, gattling guns would kill jedi. also theres lightsaber resistant materials so you could wear armor that would make they useless. Someone who spends as much training fighting force users, as one who trains to use the force, maybe on equal footing. A bountyhunter could pwn jedi like batman pwns supervillians
  8. it would end with either a blue explosion, green explosion or red explosion.
  9. i unsubbed couple days ago. and no, there is plenty to do at 50 but theres nothing fun to do at 50.
  10. why cant a sith be more powerful than a jedi? sith should kick jedi ***.
  11. yes, it would have been great if you was a colonel and you had to allocate troops and such, similar to the ending to the troopers. or staging campaigns, and making tactical decisions, but throughout it just felt like you was a grunt obeying orders. fine in itself, but in comparison to other campaigns, where you become the pinnacle of their class...
  12. darkside always rocks, however all your companions bar one are light side orientated. so yea that makes it suck, if youw ant to raise affection. the campaign is rather boring apart from one mission where you use your squad.
  13. About the questing, swtor is different, and its because its different that it does it better than WoW or any other MMO, because it has narrative and direction. Other MMOs are just, clusters of random quests, and your story is "Your character is there just because he needs to help people to level up" the fresh gameplay is true though, SWTOR is the imitation of WoW, and that doesnt make it fresh or fun (anymore) as an ex-WoW player, which i did enjoy during the time, i wanted something fresh, new and fun. and its the same but with different graphics (essentially). Its also true what ghostcrawler says "i log in but have nothing to do". Theres plenty of stuff to do, dungeons/PvP etc. But why dont you do them? because they dont have loot i need. So people only do these things for incentives, rather than gameplay.
  14. yea ion jolts seem to be messed up. still took the point because i didnt know what else to put it in. For HM, i tank with improved riot strike, as the 6 second riot strike means you can interrupt a spell from ever being casted by a boss, as it will lock out for 4 seconds, and your riot strike will just come off cooldown while they try and cast the spell again, for me that mitigates alot more damage than some extra shield %. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801GorrdoroGZMsrbo.1 tried without gut, but i felt the extra damage move filled the gap sometimes. (and its nice to have another ability ) also i disagree with using sticky grenade, the damage is too low to be worth 2 ammo. id rather use the extra ammo and whack out a pulse cannon vs groups, as its the most damage-ammo move we have, not to mention we can recharge ammo whilst its channeling. another thing, i dont agree gut is better than energy blast. how can it ever be? energy blast GIVES an energy cell, meaning you can dish out more damage. Gut costs 2 energy meaning you get less chance to use abilities.. not to mention gut can only be used every 15 seconds to be effective. Even though gut offers more damage than energy blast, is that extra damage worth 3 ammo potential by using energy blast instead?

  16. whats the point of having rated when theres only 4-5 teams on a server there will hardly be any games!
  17. the damage numbers arent based on a top tier sorceror. so best not to compare those numbers to 4.5k crits from XX class. another thing, your responses do show that a bounty hunter would need to spec high up to gain the benefits that sorcerors get, and also need to cast a spell with a 30% chance at 1.5seconds (as opposed to the 30% per 0.75 second for forced lightning to proc its effect which is reduced through alacrity). got the force 650 wrong, but it is close to free to use. All im saying is, make lightning strike stronger, and force lightning weaker. all im doing is spamming that spell as its the most efficient amoutn of damage. whilst throwing instant chain lightnings and crushing darknesses.
  18. i find that as a shared spell/talent, force lightning should not become the bread and butter, our bread and butter spell should be lightning strike, which has a nice balanced boost, of focus regeneration. I would suggest upping the focus regen on that talent, and increasing the damage by around 30%. then reducing the force lightning damage, add a cooldown to the proc. but keeping its regen, so if you are low on force you can still use force lightning, but doesnt replace lightning strike.
  19. I have a sorceror and i felt ashamed at how powerful and easy this class was, these numbers are based from my level 50 sorceror with talents in the respecced spells. 1. Force lightning as it currently stands is their bread and butter damage spell (which it shouldnt be, it should be the sorceror casted damage spell: lightning strike) Here is why Force lightning Force lightning: with talents becomes spammable after 11 points in shared tree. This spell does 2271 over 3 seconds. so 1135 damage in 1.5 seconds (this can be furthered through alacrity, which would not be affect by the GCD being 3 seconds) Lightning strike: their spammable damage spell, this should be their primary spell but only deals 898 (average of 864-932) every 1.5 seconds (due to gcd) The Talents Sith efficacy Tier 3 Reduces the pushback suffered while activating Crushing Darkness and Force Lightning by [25 / 50 / 75]%. In addition, each time your Force Lightning deals damage, you have a [33.33 / 66.67 / 100]% chance to recover 1% of your total Force. This spell ticks 4 times, in the 3 seconds cast, meaning you get back 26 force power after casting this spell...... and this spell only costs 28 force. so it becomes sorceror's free cast spell (But it deals tons of damage, and slows people by 50%), its like unload/full auto costing no ammo/heat. oh and theres no more pushback Madness Tier 3 Force Lightning no longer has Cooldown. Self explainatory Wrath When your Force Lightning deals damage, you have a 30% chance to cause your next damaging Force attack with an activation time to activate instantly and deal 20% more damage. 30% every tick, meaning you have a 120% chance of it going off during your cast (ofcourse thats not mathematically correct) but you get 4 chances per cast for this to proc, Also not that it has no cooldown, unlike other talents in the game. making sorcerors(and sages) not having to wait for a cast time for any spell. 2. Bugged healing talent Force Bending Tier 3 (healing tree) Your Resurgence has a [50 / 100]% chance to grant Force Bending, which increases the effect of your next healing ability: Dark Heal: Force cost reduced by 50%. Dark Infusion: Activation time reduced by 1 second. Innervate: Critical chance increased by 25%. Revivification: Force cost reduced by 30%. This talent is currently bugged, making it extremely powerful. after using their instant cast HoT, they can cast their biggest heal (Dark Infusion) at 1.5 the same speed as their fast heal. This talent currently allows you to cast the spell procs Twice one after the other to both gain the time reduction, crits insures full health. I wont post any suggestions, as some are pretty obvious on what to do. But i wanted to inform the rest of the community on my experience and why sorcerors are so crazy at the moment, rather than guess! so here is my info for you!
  20. Yes it might sound absurd, but wouldnt it be great to have a Fun PvP mode, that is more mindless, less stressful and with the element of chance? I just think that having a map, where people spawn randomly, pickups boosts like extra jump height, health regen as opposed to flat health, shrink character, fire cloak, wandering stealth probes. Maps could be designed so it does not favor a certain class. People may say, but this isnt a 1on1 game? but that is the point! since its FFA, everyone will be targeting each other, so being able to 1on1 makes it irrelevant. Just a great mode to let off some steam, Join or leave doesnt make a huge impact.
  21. I played wow for a couple years, and to say its terrible is silly. To play a game for that duration doesnt make it terrible. you just get bored at the end of it. WoW is very boring to me now as i have burnt out of it. But the question is, what made you play WoW for that long? something kept you hooked, i dont feel that for this game currently, apart from the great leveling experience. WoW offered a competitive progression, with PvP it was arena ratings for gear which made you come back every week. Raids had theory craft, squeezing out your damage/capabilities so your team and take on the next boss. (i didnt enjoy raids at all but i can see why people did). Saying this, WoW is dated, the combat is boring and everything streamlined or changed in ways that make gameplay a snorefest (after TBC). SWTOR has great leveling experience, but its endgame is very unpolish in its current state. small things like UI, quickslots, player targeting, balancing, mods. I am very disapointed that the flashpoints after the first one, are just long cooridoors filled with mobs, rather than having some story weaved into it.
  22. feel the same way, lack of community makes me feel like im just out here on my own. i was disappointed with the lack of server forums, it may be why i feel like im treating this as a single player game, rather than an mmo.
  23. they could have focused on their strengths and included a bunch of interesting questlines involving operations, quests which unlock after completing of a raid or after collecting certain things. when it comes to pvp, they need to make a system where playing the same map over and over again is engaging, fun and rewarding. instead of tokens, why not have a level system like in other multiplayer games? players having the choice of which WZ to go into. or death match ffa style maps with pickups everywhere? also those health pick ups should be changed to health regen over time.
  24. Hi, im a relatively new player, i have a 50 sorc and im currently leveling a vanguard... but the problem is as soon as i hit 50 i gave up on him nearly straight away, the end game content is just a pure grindfest, flashpoints are not fun to play through as its just a standard fight lots of mobs tank and spank scenario, very repeatative. PvP (which is what my primary interest is though pve is also fun) is dull and games are not enjoyable (in comparison to other pvp games, battlefield, league of legends, anything else) there is just no real satisfaction (for me) when killing someone or pvping/winning. I will be deactivating my subscription when my first month is complete. Its just the same formula as WoW, but without the polish (pve and pvp wise). however the story/questing is enjoyable! so atleast they got that right. counter arguement could be that all mmos are grindy at end game, but it doesnt mean it cant be made enjoyable. ive played 400+ games on league of legends ont he same map and i still find it entertaining, so theres something lacking here...
