This does not make them gamers, it makes them COD gamers. and the fact that they are copying the same thing in every game makes it one game

You're kinda wrong, look at the definition plural gam·ers a person who plays games; especially : a person who regularly plays computer or video games In my book about 50-75% of COD players are not 'gamers' just because they can play an FPS that requires no skill what-so-ever does not make them a gamer.
