Thanks very much for this. I just resubscribed when I got a hankering to dip into the universe again, but it can be very daunting.

The achievement is per server. I can confirm that, having started two different LvD characters on different servers. They both would need their own completed achievements-it is not clear to me the rewards (i'm looking at YOU, BoP gear) will justify my time investment, since i have multiple alts on a bunch of servers that I already enjoy.

As I state in my post, I am not a member of either guild that has been mentioned, nor have I personally been squelched. And a guild that responds to a game challenge by exploiting to prevent others from playing the game instead of excelling themselves does not impress me.

In all candor, I don't think anyone should have needed the Devs to say that.

I have not been the victim of this kind of abuse, but that it has gone on for a freaking month is absolutely ridiculous. So much so I actually logged in for the first time in months to comment. BW, you are letting one set of players actively harass and abuse another one. This isn't "all in good fun" or "all part of the game". This is one set of people setting out to derail other players enjoyment of the game. It's abuse. Pure and simple. The appropriate response is to disband the guild, including the loss of any items in their guildbank, and the permabanning of every officer in the Guild. Rank and file members would depend on whether they had engaged in the activity, but they are laying down with fleas. I do not run a guild in this game, but I do in another. If any member of that guild abused people like this, they'd have been shown the door, and IDGAF what a good player they might be. And if I didn't do that, I'd deserve being held responsible for their actions. So, if you're an officer for such a guild, you have a decision. No excuses What are you going do?* *This is a rhetorical question to be clear. It matters not one whit to me if you're gonna be a stand up officer or not. It should matter to you.

As a returning player, currently unguilded, I am very interested to see how this develops. It sounds like a lot of rebuilding needs to be done, and I want those who are doing the hard work in that vein to know it's appreciated, even by those of us not directly effected. (As yet) I wish you patience, give and take, and as many asbestos undies as it takes.

I give up. I cannot seem to find a guild that suits my playstyle. So, I'll start one myself, if I can find three likeminded folks to join up. My idea (based on a very successfull kin I lead in Lotro) is to have three basic rules. 1. Have fun. 2. Remember you're playing with actual PEOPLE. Don't be an ******e to them, even in PVP. 3. It may seem minor to you, but romances and story are significant selling points for all of Bioware's games. So, yeah, having SGRA blown off initially was a big deal. Giving it short shrift in this expansion-well, I can't blame anyone who has been waiting and advocating for romances that reflect their own lives to feel kicked in the teeth. This is extremely disappointing news.

While Mr. YellowDuck is indeed a charming and floaty fellow, he and his fellows cannot compete with the visual of getting all the party jawas lined up to do the conga. IJS.

I have a Jedi Sentinel at level cap, though not raid geared as yet, and all other classes working their way up. (Yes, I am an altoholic, and I'M FINE WITH THAT!!!) After my JK, my highest Republic character is a smuggler who just hit level 39. I'm a mostly mature founder who took a break from the game, and am now coming back. I do lead a guild in another game, so I try to make things as easy as possible on folks who are leading. Be happy to answer any questions, here or in PM for folks trying to figure out if I'm worth their trouble. (spoiler alert, I am. )

Here's my suggestion. Treat those declarations as a confession, and ban those folks wherever they are identifiable. Maybe you already do. I don't really frequent places where these boasting cheats do, so I don't know. But you have two problems here-one is the security, the other is the vagueness of having to repeat "No, really, we ARE doing something about these guys. Don't listen to them." Sometimes you need to be SEEN doing something. All it will take is a couple of times of people squealing about how they can't BELIEVE someone took them at their word, and the empty braggarts will evaporate. That will allow you to deal with the substantive issues.

1. Fire through target to target's target. As a healer in Lotro, this is a great benefit, allowing me to throw a hit in among the heals if we need a quick dps boost. (You could disable in warzones if the concern is that it would leave an imbalance in PVP. ) 2. Perhaps it's just something the raids i've been in haven't used, but a target assist window for the group to see who's hitting whom would also improve group gameplay. 3. In game voice chat. Would really help with pugs to be able to communicate easily.

You realize the idea is to bring new players in (and give them ways to pay BW money) not preserve your right to be a special, special snowflake, right?

Lotro has used a very similar model very healthily. And updates are coming quite frequently.

If you transferred to a qualifying server, which i assume you did, you'll get the rewards.

Ham. fisted. I already transferred my characters off my dead server, but this strikes me as a completely hamfisted maneuver. You're closing down ALL those origin servers to new characters. Why not just do the effing merge in the first place if you were gonna mandate effectively that those servers would have NO population support. I mostly like being on the higher population servers, but they are a bit too busy in some ways. A nice stand pop would be a good target to shoot for. Instead, you shoot the folks who stayed where the were in the foot. Not even your own feet. Reprehensible.

While I understand that stuff happens that requires an urgent restart of all servers, not giving your players in game notice is pretty lame. I note the servers are still down, so I'm guessing several people already have their hair on fire at BW over this. So, I'll just note that in future, the big red letters you use to let people know they can transfer off a server can also be used to let them know you're doing a restart. Which didn't happen on Bergeron Colony.

They explained this too. Last week. They didn't release the list early because they didn't want to have to change it at the last minute and disappoint players. The players had to do that themselves, as we've seen.

This is what I call a "soft merge" process. The already high pop servers are definitely gonna stay, so they want to fill those up, then go to the next tier. Imagine the hysteria if, for example, you consolidated on a moderate server, then as things progressed it in turn was a origin server to another one. Sturm und drang.

I think you are not understanding. What dead server are you seeing as a destination ?

This would be an untrue statement about 1.3. Although with the caveat that it is still the test server, so not guaranteed to be in the final release.

My guess is you have never actually been responsible for transferring really huge amounts of data from one place to another. Because your estimation on the time involved in this is srsly unrealistic.
