  1. Run through a low level flashpoint as a 50. It looks amazing but is actually very sad. Makes you realize that all of the Jedi in the movies were just high level characters picking on n00bs.
  2. If I were to spec to this build HERE how much of an issue would I have with force efficiency? I'm still in the old hybrid spec with 3/3 Electric Induction and am geared with a couple of PvE pieces to get the force discount on Force Lightning but now that I'm not instant casting Chain Lightning every time it's available I'm hoping I can drop Electric Induction all together. I was initially drawn to the Hybrid spec because it was (and from what I can see still is) a viable build in both PvE and PvP and hope the new build with only War Hero gear (nice to have a goal) will work well enough in both environments.
  3. All voting processes are based off of popularity. How good a player did or how much they contributed doesn't matter. Hell if my team does poorly I usually vote for the worst player on the team because they obviously need the help the most.
  4. I plan on doing something similar. Here's my plan. Two starter characters. 1. Jedi Consular (Sage) - Cybertech/Scavenging/Underground Trading. Cybertech is a nice first crafting profession because of how easy it is to get scavenging materials through droids and how much rare Underground Trading crafting material is worth. Look up how much Mandelorian Iron is on the market. When 1.2 comes I'm predicting it doubles in price. Ridiculous. Sage/Sorcerer seems like the easiest ride to 50. Good starting character to make seed money for the rest of your characters. 2. Trooper (Vanguard) - Biochem/Bioanalysis/Diplomacy. As a previous poster wrote the stims are essential during the endgame and leveling a tank without having to constantly pay for medkits out of pocket is nice. And the rest. Crafters Smuggler - Armortech/Slicing/Underworld Trading Sith Inquisitor - Artifice/Archeology/Treasure Hunting Sith Warrior - Synthweaving/Archeology/Underworld Trading Imperial Agent - Armstech /Scavenging/Investigation Profiteers Jedi Knight - Slicing/Treasure Hunting/Underworld Trading Bounty Hunter - Slicing/Investigation/Underworld Trading Please note that you'll have to wait until 1.2 to be able to exchange stuff cross faction.
  5. I'd recommend you switch over to this build and switch over to Tharan if you want any easy ride through PvE content. This is basically the tank build for sages. At 50 I looked like this build. This is by no means a good endgame build but I believe it's the smoothest leveling one in my experience. Basic Rotation 1. Force Lift (target strongest and 2 nearest regular or weak go a long for the ride) 2. Telekinetic Throw until Presence of Mind proc (target non-CC foe first one of the trash that was lifted) 3. Mind Crush off of PoM 4. Weaken Mind 5. Disturbence off or PoM if Mind Crush is still on cooldown. 6. Telekinetic Throw until they're burned down. 7. Bubble and Heal as needed Thoughts. 14 points in balance means you will always be able to deal constant damage because Telekinetic Throw becomes force positive (you gain more force than you use). I know you stated that you didn't want to heal but as a sage especially on some of the more challenging fights it's unavoidable. Tharan even in blaster mode is more efficient than a lot of pug healers I've grouped with. Throw in your own heals when necessary and you become very hard to kill. With Tharan the post fight recovery is at max 5 seconds. Also it takes advantage of Deploy Holiday (imo the coolest ability in the game) which allows you to chain interrupt casters making the hardest fight for most players almost nothing to you. With this set up you have access to 5 different ones.
  6. Hello. I too am came from City. Justice was my home server and I played with Repeat Offenders on several of the other ones. My main toon Pyrohemia is still chilling at her day job waiting for Paragon to expand the Incarnate System. As mouse said welcome to SWtOR.
  7. You're forgetting the base force you normally get back per second. It comes out to positive force. Trust me.
  8. I recommend PvPing after finishing a world until you're at the max level range of the next world. For example you just finished up Tatooine (24-28) and you're level 30. PvP for until 32 before heading to Alderann (28-32). This is a nice mix of PvE and PvP. Gives you enough levels between PvP sessions to pick up a few skills to try out while making PvE advancement quick and easy.
  9. The upper tier abilities aren't bad it's just that the mid level abilities have such great synergy. Instant casting Telekinetic Wave off of a Presence of Mind is ridiculous. Getting hit? Rejuvenate, Deliverance, Deliverance (almost dead to full life in 4 seconds) and then back to Telekinetic Throw (DPS that nets you positive force so you can just spam it forever).
  10. This is the guide I followed until about level 30. Not an optimized build in any sense but it gives you a good introduction for what each tree does. One thing I highly recommend you put two points in Pinning Resolve. Being able to crowd control an entire group and pick them off at your leisure is great and shortening the cool down on Force Stun really eases the difficulty of the more challenging fights while soloing.
  11. The big damage from this build comes from instant casting Chain Lightning off of a Wrath proc on top off a Deathfield. The soonest you can do this is level 38. Basically around 40+ is where the build's crazy synergies start to come together.
  12. I use an 18/7/16 build. Does a little bit of everything. Endless stream of damage? Check. Ability to outlast pretty much anything in PvE? Check. Decent in PvP? Check. Stalos, why only 1/3 in Psychic Barrier? Being able to DPS when I'm low in the tank is great for me.
  13. Sages can DPS as long as they're standing if build correctly while Vanguards can front load a lot of damage but have a hard time maintaining a high level of DPS due to their resouces. This is my experience. The most popular builds for those two classes are Sage Hybrid (yeah I know it's for the sorcerer but there's not a good sage write up at the moment) and the Vanguard "Iron Fist". Hope this helps.
  14. I'm gonna go with Theran just because Deploy Holiday is such a wonderful ability both visually and gameplay wise.
  15. Thanks for this guide. Probably the best explanation of a leveling build I've seen so far. I'm using it to level my Sage (Was going to roll a Sorcerer but found out guild is Republic) and it's working out nicely.
