  1. Awesome logic fail. No, they don't all have the same equipment. there are certain parameters equipment must not exceed but if you think that some third work country with 2 athletes in the Olympics has all the same equipment as the American, British or Chinese team you are very mistaken.
  2. Troll title much? If someone capped while couldn't see them I would say it's far more likely that it was a latency issue than a hack/exploit. I have noticed that sometime after coming out of stealth that my character model takes it's time becoming visible again so maybe this is what happened. I have tried to cap in stealth and I receive the same warning as everyone else. WZ lag is a common issue on this forum. Not seeing people where they actually are is a common problem with lag. I have seen 2 sabers floating around fighting WZ's plenty of times. That's a lag/bug issue not an exploit. Report it and give as much useful info as you can to help it get fixed. I'm not claiming that hacks don't exist in this game. One the first things I do when I commit to playing a new game is Google *game name* hacks. I like to know if there are any and what they look like so I can report them if I see them. I can tell you a lot of the hacks in forums dedicated to this type of thing say a lot of them have been patched. But anyway, I personally have never seen or noticed anyone hacking. I can tell you that have come out of stealth in NC to stat capping south and an Imp stated capping right next to me. He didn't try to interrupt me just tried to cap it himself. So maybe it lagged a bit and he couldn't see me. Sounds kind of similar to your issue.
  3. Really depends on who is guarding the node. If their favorite hobbies are licking windows and leaving Youtube comments you should go for it. Me and a buddy did this the other day,we weren't trying to triple cap but I have no doubt in my mind we could have as this is exactly how we capped both our nodes. He is a Guardian tank and I'm rocking my hybrid Shadow, lowbie PvP BTW, I stealth, he leaps in and fights them while walking to their spawn. They follow him of course and I cap while they fight 40 or 50 meters from node. I call inc as soon as I cap because he's dead and those 2 are on their way back; rest of team arrives and we hold node. So if you notice your opponents have a habit of following people off of the objective then it may be possible to pull off. I wouldn't try to sustain all three nodes but it could be like getting a go ahead run in baseball. Holding it for 30 seconds by yourself could give you a little more of a lead. Doing some "burst" damage to their ship/bunker if you will. You could also force some people to quit or AFK so that could help as well.
  4. Get yourself a moddable weapon and buy a piece of BH gear such as the boots or gloves. Remove mod and enhancement place in weapon. Get a barrel or hilt from 1) Daily vendor 2) Columi off-hand if able 3) Tionese MH 4) Other barrel/hilt level 23 or above from GTN. Get an artificer buddy to make or get a +41 your fav stat here crystal from GTN. Boom you now have an awesome MH .

    Awesome!

Yeah that probably nothing to do with any outside factors, it was only because it was level 50 PvP. Definitely couldn't have been your ISP. Or just an inconvenient lag spike. Cool story, bro.
  6. Gunslinger - Quickdraw, it's an awesome animation and it hits hard. Shadow - Force Speed so far. Commando - Kolto injection when it crits for 4.7k Merc - Railshot nice high instant damage.
  7. Commando healers would be immortal with this ability. I approve:D.
  8. I was just showing that the gear grind isn't that bad since you can do it without even actually playing. Hopefully you would be able to complete the weekly every week and you should be done in a week or two if you put some effort in. Also if you're as awesome at PvP as everyone on this forum thinks they are you would have saved up comms from lowbie PvP to use to get your gear once you hit 50. Even losing every game as in my previous example if you capped both uWZ/rWZ comms and traded them in you have 5500 uWZ comms to start with. It would only take about 3 weeks if you did that. Let's not forget about the MVP vote bonuses that everyone gets so worked up about either:rolleyes:.
  9. Hey, welcome to game! Here are few thing I've learned over the months to help with movement/casting: - You can walk and turn with just the mouse. If you hold down the left and right mouse buttons you will walk forward and you can steer this way. You can also turn by holding down the mouse wheel. - I have a 14 button Razer Naga but I used to have a standard 5 button mouse, rihgt and left click, scroll whell and a forward/back button for browsers (if you don't have one of these I think they are like 20 bucks and it will make everything you do on your computer much easier to navigate, forward/back also works in Windows folders etc.). If you bind your abilities here it will make your life much easier. You can also use modifier keys like control, shift and control + shift. - Increase the size of you targets cast bar in the UI editor and move it to the middle of the screen so you can always be on point with interrupts. Interrupts are very important in locking healers down so you want these bound to your mouse if possible. As a Marauder locking down healers should be one of your priorities. - Your free attack is automatically bound to right click. I don't think you can unbind it so you may as well use it. It's a somewhat useful way to target someone as well because you attack them as well. - Tab targeting works wonders. You can set this to target the closest enemy or the enemy in the center of your screen. Be careful with this as it takes a second to change your target window so you end up going past the person you want. Hope that helps.
  10. It would be awesome to be able to do some of these things but you totally should have rolled on a PvP server. I'm going to assume most people roll on a PvE server just avoid the things you want to do. So why force a way of playing that they have no interest in on them? For PvP servers this would be great. Especially if each faction had a raid on the opposite home planet. Like Raiding the Jedi/Sith ruins on Coruscant/Drumond Koss. Could be interesting.
  11. I like PvPing on my 25 shadow but I would never go back to lowbie once I get out of it. I like to look at it like high school/college. You play through lowbie PvP while gaining new skills and learning the general playstyle or playstyle choices of your class. Then one day your the highest level guy in the match with the best gear all but one or two of your abilities. Then you graduate. Now your in college, and everything is tougher. You're no longer the stand out. Everyone has the same amount of abilities and there are people here that know how to use them and use them much more effectively. There is more teamwork and people paying attention to objectives. It's not like lowbie PvP where eventually you'll just be better due to the difference in levels. You actually have to learn from mistakes and can't rely on the fact that in 2 more levels you'll hit harder and have a new ability. Lowbie PvP is fun because you are learning your class and gaining new abilities the whole way through. Fifty PvP is awesome because you get to apply those skills and abilities in a higher level of competition. As for the gear grind I will post this again: Piece WZ Commendations Chest 1425 Legs 975 Head 1075 Gloves 875 Boots 875 Belts 625 Bracers 550 Ear 625 Implant 625 Implant 625 Offhand 1550 Mainhand 1550 Relic 550 Relic 550 Total 12475 If you play six matches per day and manage to lose every match you will be getting in the neighborhood of 60 comms per match so thats 460 regular comms a day plus 100 rWZ comms. If you do this 4 days a week you will 1840 unranked WZ (uWZ) comms and 400 rWZ comms or 2240 uWZ comms if you trade them in. Not trading rWZ comms in it will take you about 7 weeks to gear up to full BM. If you account for trading in rWZ comms it will take a little over 5 weeks. Now remember this is according to the 1.2 changes, which happened on 4/16 almost 4months ago. To achieve this you literally have to do nothing but enter 6 WZ's a day and stand there and attack someone once and a while if a vote kick starts. Odds are you won't go on a 112 game losing streak (4 games/day * 4 days/week * 7 weeks). You will win some games. So as long as you always pick up the weekly I would say you would win 9 games for it at least 2 or 3 times in that stretch. With the larger comm reward for winning along with the weekly bonus you should be done even faster. And as for how "hard" the PvP gear grind is remember this, that this is the absolute bare minimum of effort. You don't even have to play. Try gearing up for PvE by putting follow player on someone in an FP or an Op. and sitting there and watching. See how fast you get to full Columi that way.
  12. First off I love my Commando, I just wish BW did too. They are sorely lacking in utility for PvP and little bit in PvE. No interrupt is just mind boggling. Imagine trying to do LR-5 with 2 commando DPS. That leaves the interruption on Incinerate to the tank, if you have a shadow (not sure about the other tank classes interrupts) Mind Snap is on a 12 second CD. I believe that's about the interval for him casting Incinerate. Commandos have no 'unique' ability. Shadows and Scoundrels can stealth. Gunslingers have cover. Sentinels buff the whole team. Guardians can leap to friendlies (very useful in Huttball or peeling form a healer). Sages can pull friendlies. Vanguards have the ability to spec into having a leap and a pull or put out awesome DPS while not getting interrupted to death. Commandos get what? Off heals that take ages to cast unless specced for it? They are a ranged caster with no root. How are they supposed to keep someone at range? After being rooted for 3 seconds by a Mara/Jugg then slowed what are they supposed to do? If it's a PT even if you do mange to get away while being slowed there is a solid chance your getting pulled back. Gunslingers knockback has a 5 sec root attached that breaks after 2 if damage is applied. Commandos knockback slows for 2 secs. Since it doesn't root anyone with a leap is coming right back. It's also on a 30 second, 25 talented, CD compared to 15 - 12 sec. Force Leap/Charge which also will interrupt the Commando if they are actually trying to fight back after knocking them away. Gunslingers get another 5 sec root the breaks after 2 with damage in Leg Shot. Commandos get a talented 2 second slow on Full Auto which again doesn't stop anyone form leaping back. Or Force Speeding. and the Commando isn't in cover so there is nothing stopping a pull either. The Commando has one 12 second 25% damage reduction shield (2min CD) and a 15% self heal (3 min CD). The Gunslinger has 100% chance to doge (1min), a 15 sec shield (45sec CD) and a 15 second long 10 meter wide 20% damage reduction that also affects team mates(3min CD). Why does one turret class have so much more utility than the other? I'm not asking for Gunslinger/Snipers to be nerfed. I just think that the Commando and Gunslinger are pretty similar in the method that they deliver their damage. One has all the tools required for this and the other is lacking sorely. Anyone here who regularly gets owned by a DPS Commando (I'm not talking about the exceptional ones) is doing it wrong. Are there great Commandos out there? Of course. It's just that it takes an exceptional player to tackle a mediocre one when it's a Commando versus anything else. If you can honestly claim that 2 easily interrupted heals and a cleanse make up for all that I would love to hear your supporting argument. I don't want to hear a word about heavy armor as Juggs/Guardians can wear heavy armor and no one would claim that they are lacking in utility.
  13. If you look at the abilities pages on torhead.com they are still getting ready for launch so...
  14. http://www.swtor.com/free/features There ya go
  15. Don't know if anyone posted this yet (don't have time to read the whole thread) but I didn't see anything about a decrease in credit costs. If I understood the FAQ correctly F2Pers will have a credit limit so they may not be able to even get enough credits to purchase the more expensive legacy items. As for the decrease in levels and 'grinding out' your legacy level I haven't even noticed a grind for it. It's been kind of an after thought for me. I think my legacy level is somewhere around 25. As it stands I believe that means I can unlock everything but please correct me if I'm wrong isn't there usually 2 requirements for the legacy items? The ones I'm thinking of are given for free at certain social, valor or alignment levels and are purchasable at a certain legacy level. so it would seem that the best way to unlock them is by raising those levels as opposed to your legacy level. Like I said please correct me if that is wrong but legacy level just doesn't seem that important to me.
  16. I love that everyone on this forum thinks the day F2P launches 50 PvP is going to be jammed with new F2P guys. You know they still have to level right? Without full access to travel on planets this going to take longer for most people. And anyone serious enough to stay PvPing after getting worked over in the 50 bracket will either 1) sub or 2) pay for just unlimited PvP access. I'm going to assume that around the same time the level cap should also be going up around that time so by the time they are 50 all of us will have lvl 55 chars. Everyone is assuming the worst possible outcome for this. Everyone is also forgetting that subbed players have priority in the queue so you will probably end up with mostly other subbed players. It's also worth it to point out GW2 requires no subscription. Everyone thinks PvP is going to be amazing there because there is no gear grind. But believe it or not law of averages tells us a lot of the players there will be bad as well. And there will be class balance issues at the start. I watche done PvP video for that game and all that happned to guy filming is the person he was fightin did what looked like force push (no idea what's really called but it looked exactly the same, with the same outcome). The guy got hit with this like 6 or 7 times in a row until he died. No resolve system so the other guy just kept spamming it. Sounds great. Everyone here needs to chill out and just wait and see what is going to happen. From the info we have received from BW there is nothing that indicates anything but fluff items in the shop. It seems like the thing people are going to be buying most is access to more content for the F2pers. Worst case is what you're describing, but the best case is people get interested in the game and either sub or pay for the content they want. I'm hoping for the best.
  17. Buy field respec droid and both sets of gear for your class.
  18. Sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what to do. Here are some things I do that have really helped me in PvP: - Tech Override is very useful for making Medical Probe(MP) an instant. Use it in emergencies followed by Kolto Injection if they both crit you should have just healed for around 8k with 2 instant casts. You could also use Reserve Cell and make MP free as well. Be aware these abilities have long cooldowns. - Positioning is mucho important. On Voidstar on defense you should be hiding by the pillar closest to your spawn and the opposite one for offense. CW you should hiding behind one of the pillars on your side, if you're at one of the side hang behind the gun or try and use the stairs/ledge to give you some cover. Be careful, it is easy to lose sight of your team mates as well on the sides. NC Hiding behind the bunker opposite the side the bad guys are coming form works best. - Get a good tank buddy. This will make your life much easier. Try and stay in range of his guard as often as possible but don't follow him if it means standing in the middle of open ground. People love to kill commandos healer or not so standing around like a jerk is rarely a good plan. - Be aware of the fact against any non-window licking team someone is going to mark you. So there will be someone constantly following you (I've had people kill me then go wait outside the spawn). If you don't see them it's because they are stealthed. - Use Stealth Scan as often as possible. No one like getting sneaked up on. - Never be alone. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to help at a node only to have it cleared and everyone run off and leave me alone. Now I always put "Healer alone at west" (no one should be solo guarding anyway) to get someone to come over and relieve me. You're doing no good by yourself and you aren't going to be super effective in any 1v1. - Use your Green Beam of Awesome. As I said before you'll be marked, they know where you are. Don't go shooting it all the way across the map but don't be afraid to use it because you think it will give up your position. I usually wait until the first person finds to use it though. - When you pop Super Charge Cells try and get your self in you Kolto Bomb as often as you can. When things go south if you're guarded and pop your shield and apply one of these you'll be nigh unkillable. A few crit heals later and you'll be at 100% and hopefully someone has taken care of the guy attacking you. - Using Tech Override then using Concussive Round for an instant 8-second mezz is great when used at the right time. It's great for getting away from maras. - Stack power augments on your gear. Especially once you get over 30% crit chance. More power, more heals. those are some of the things I learned form playing in Wz's. Been in the 50 bracket for a while now. Usually average around 180k-190k more if I'm not getting marked/focused. In all BM + WH main, 2 WH power relics w/power augs and a WH implant. All augged with power augs.
  19. This doesn't have to be game breaking. They could just make adaptive weapons like they did with the armor. If a smuggler wanted to rock an assault cannon he would need to get a special adaptive one that woul take the base stats of the strongest weapon he could wield. Interesting idea although if sentinals could run around with 2 double sabers we would have a lot more amputee Jedi running around. Bonus Fun Fact: I spelled Jedi with a lower case j up there and Firefox corrected it a capital j
  20. Guilds are only voting for their guildmates and farming comms! Nerf MVP votes NOW! MVP votes killed PvP!

    Pvp ideas!!!

I don't see how any of those suggestions are improving anything. Everyone explained the gates to you already so I won't bother. Seeing people's spec is pretty pointless as well. Not only would it have a minimal impact on game play what would it say for hybrids? And as for limiting one AC on a team that is just pure lunacy. For a few reasons: - Each AC has three trees. So odds are, since out of the 24 available trees 3 are healers and 3 are tanks, you would most likely have 16 DPS's beating each other stupid in zergfests where everyone has 1mil damage and 1000 objective points. Three shadows could bring 3 completely different playstyles to the field. Also not every PT/Van. is Assault/Pyro. - What if no Scoundrels are queued? Does the match never pop because you can't fill a spot or do you have to start down a player? - Matches would feel very samey. You would probably end up with the same group again if everyone requeued. These things would kill PvP. Think about how many Maras, Sents, PT's, and Vanguards would quit rather than wait an hour and a half for a queue. It's great that you're thinking about ways to improve PvP but you have to think about the big picture not just a couple of things that you dislike.
  22. Excellent point. I guess was just thinking more about my bracket. My rating is horrible. Me and my guildies got steamrolled in our first 10 or so matches. Learned some lessons and tried again and we did much better actually had a winning streak going, until we met Seal Team Sith (seriously screw those guys . They are awesome). My rating is sitting at a very 1337 1020. So I'm guessing the people I would group with may not have Vent/take things as serious. Not saying anything bad about new guys, I was inexperienced and new like 6 months ago, I'm just thinking I could end with a lot of people not playing to the objective because they don't care, which would explain the low rating. I guess my rating could up though. If BW implements it I would be more than willing to try it
  23. I said something similar to the post you quoted earlier. I still think 2 if there are 2 even teams, one with voice comm one with out, the team with voice will win. While the type of matches you're describing happened all the time on my old server, my guild didn't even bother to group up as we would all get the same WZ anyway against the same Imps, I have never had that happen on Fatman. Coordination is key in ranked and voice chat is the best tool for achieving it. I would hope if they released single queues voice chat would be along side it. But if they don't do voice chat it would definitely be wise to set up a free Vent server or at least a channel restricted for that use on your guild Vent. It would be cool to be able solo queue for times when the guildies aren't around but I could easily imagine a thousand threads on here with titles like "Solo Queue Killed Ranked."
  24. MVP votes are serious business. Check this doucher out http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=515446
  25. I personally love the rWZ's. I think they are filling the exact role they should I just think everyone is a little confused on what that role is though. Everyone was clamoring for ranked warzones. Everyone wanted a spot for the full WH players to go. Which I believe is what ranked is for, it's a place to go when you're ready for serious competition. But the first thing I saw when the rolled out was "LFG Ranked." Everyone hated getting rolled in PUG's by PvP guilds and when those guilds got a place to play each other everyone rushed headlong into them to PUG there as well. Kind of confused me. I believe that could have helped discourage teams from playing in ranked. It was the same thing everyone hated in regular WZ's organized teams rolling over PUG's except now there was 8 of them. It killed the idea that ranked was separate from regular WZ's. People stopped queuing and to everyone's surprise the matching algorithm worked exactly as it said it would. It would match teams with similar ratings EXCEPT when the were no teams like that. It would match low ranking teams with high rankings teams if they were they only ones queuing. Another thing that isn't helping is the fact that some people think they are god's gift to PvP. I will be the first one to tell you, I'm not awesome at PvP. But what I lack in skill I make up for in enthusiasm. I love to play and I don't mind taking a beating because if you lost there is a lesson to be learned there. Sometimes that lesson is someone else is better than you. Crazy I know but I have all augmented BM + WH main, WH power relics and an implant and some people show me the business. And some people I can keep at bay long enough to get rescued by a tank or DPS (healer BTW). Sometimes I do everything right and sometimes I sit in the spawn thinking "Well, that was terrible plan in retrospect." but a lot of people get beat and think classes are OP , or that resolve doesn't work or whatever. A lot of people never say "Wow, I totally screwed that up I'll have to try something else next time." As for solo queuing for ranked that will absolutely do nothing to help without in game voice chat. Coordination is such a huge part of winning in ranked. Even if you put 2 teams with the exact same ratings in a match if one is on voice chat and the other isn't you can guess who is most likely going to win. Another thing that teams have over PUG's is they know each other. You can screw a round in a PUG and defense medal farm if things go south and never see them again. There gonna be some follow up questions if you play with the same people everyday and you leave a node to pew pew at someone and it gets capped. So for ranked you really need unit cohesion to succeed.
