  1. 5 & 6 - Guilds were created for a reason, there are plenty that not only offer to teach the mechanics but do full sweeps on flashpoints. Besides there's no flashpoint you cannot do solo, but it is true that the rushing tactic can be quite discouraging in group finder, perhaps if the devs implemented additonal bonuses for defeating more enemies, and rewards that would maybe encourage the players to not simply rush through, or perhaps more complex flashpoint with more objectives so that 80% of the flashpoint werent just mobs that await us and 3 bosses but actually gave us a reason to have to visit all the placs within the given instance. Non the less until that happens or a better solution is presented I'd advise to keep doing it the way you're doing it. Also, there is no heroic in this game you cannot do solo, the only heroic that gave me trouble and I more often than not avoid is the one on Ossus rep side where a bunch of geonosians just jump out of the ground and you have to hold on to your life cause they're all blasting, it is soloable, I did it but it's a hussle. If you cannot complete a given 4+ heroic I'd recommend changing tactics or combat style or adjusting your build cause if you don't come with friends you have to catch up with skill and good gear. I'm strongly against removing that difficulity cause this game is simply too easy on many fronts and challenges like that make it interesting.
  2. I really enjoy the creative freedom Combat Styles provide, but here's a suggestion to improve them: Allow us to swap out our tech/force abilities with our counterpart's abilities via a Legacy character unlock or at character's creation. The idea's fairly simple, purely cosmetic since abilities on both sides work the same I see no reason why Scoundrels couldn't use knives and poison and operatives get access to scattergun and other tricks as of yet only avaiable to scoundrel. Trooper shooting out flames out of his/hers gun instead of bolts and BH zapping people.
  3. Wouldn't mind getting a couple of those abilities back, snipe for operatives so that they can have a greater use of their rifle even at a reduced range to 15m and being able to move at 50% speed. Overload shot (It's counter part for smugglers) for sniper maybe with a 2 sec cooldown, PT/vanguards could have a reason to carry those blasters/rifles again with unload and maybe charged shots but adjusted - shorter charge time, bit less damage but be able to move while charging at a reduced speed. With the skill trees I could see it work, even tho these abilities are channeled, that would serve as a decent nerf to them as you'd have to time these abilities right so that your opponnt is out of interrupts.
  4. I don't know who told you that guys, but snipers don't loose any abilities, nor access to any of their skills while using a rifle instead of sniper rifle. I've been running my virulence sniper like a trooper given that this spec is more like if it was lmg rather than a sniper rifle. But I recommend you Sniper/Operative combo for Trooper, since both can use rifle but they do it in different way, while sniper sets up in place and from there assaults enemies, operative(Also virulence) is more mobile which compensates for the shorter range, so while running they are also gunning the enemies down.
  5. No don't, I have had difficulities, but it's not impossible. My sage, sith warrior and bounty hunter were all doing fine with the right roles and focus on certain skills. Besides, heroics are not supposed to be easy, especially the 4+ ones. And the Aurora Cannon/long shot heroics not only require from you to come with good gear if you want to solo them, you also need to think on your skills, who and when to stun or how to use the enviroment so you don't fall flat on your face.
  6. Do you guys have a wishlists of abilities for classes you play? Be it something new or just move an ability from one tree to another or something like that, or would you wish some abilities worked differently? I'm curious.
  7. Truth be told I miss all the abilities they took with that update. Not all of them were usefull, but sure were fun to keep around, and people who didn't want them just took 'em of their toolbars
  8. I agree, also rip for the lightsaber of my sage or the force abilities of my shadow
  9. Throwing debris, stones, and force waves (which could be as well concusive blast meant to knock out) don't compare to literally pulling life out of the enemy. I understand a sith but a Jedi? For me it's drastic. But hey, we all have our opinions.
  10. The title says it all. For me it's a bit weird for a Jedi, to literally drain his/her opponent's life. It's an ability I avoid using, because it feels a bit out of place, and harsh. Especially for someone like Sage.
  11. Well the life steal ability (Force leach? The last ability that you get in balance) with force mend usually will get half of your health back. But if that's not enough for you, get the utility that heals you for 1% whenever you have a shield on yourself. Alongside with heal from your dots and force in balance and the two abilities mentioned above it's gonna make you a tank in sage's robes.
  12. If only budget. This whole idea just doesn't work and won't work. Here's why: 1. They would have to rescript fundamental mechanics of the game - which would mean that there would be less (and by less I mean like 80% less) uptadets, expansions of all sorts, new items or quests etc while they would be doing that. The game would literally stop in place. 2. That would be too risky, not everyone likes, enjoys, has the money or ability to play it in vr. The free combat mode alongside with normal would be unbalanced. 3. I don't really think they have the budget for that, since that's a enormous risk. 4. Graphic overhaul of the abilities and some of the effects. Current fx are designed for a 3rd person game, if we would switch to the first person some effects wouldn't be visible to us or it wouldn't be pleasent to look at. (Take a yellow lightsaber for example. The color is so bright and the blade is so wide, it would literally hurt to look at)
  13. You think sorc is boring to look at? Watch or play as sage in tk spec. All they do is throw force blasts. We get 2 actuall tk abilities and the rest is force blast, force wave etc. I wouldn't be mad if they changed the animations. Maybe then I would stick to that spec for more than few minutes.
  14. So what you're talking about is SWTOR 2.0 rather than sequel to the game. I like the idea, to go through the whole game and change a lot or 'upgrade', but to do that, they would need to first release a lot of new content or things to keep players playing, while Devs would be reworking the game. Or there is also another way. Change the fundamental mechanics one at a time, while also releasing new content with it, like they kind of did with onslaught.
  15. I'd love if they made a new animation for furious strike. It's literally a copy paste of vicious strike. Also the Jedi Sentinel, has literally 4 abilities all looking exactly like leg slash.
  16. Couldn't agree more. In my opinion, they should remake their current skill/passives trees into two things. One would be passive tree, that would define your role (Through stat bonuses and utilities) and combat style (Tank/bruiser, dmg, heal) in which you could also choose your weapon proficiency. Second would be a skill/passives tree where you choose what sort of abilities you'd like to have and in what sort of combat would you specialize in(Ranged, mid ranged/melee, full melee, dot, burst, area, single target etc.) by modifying the way your abilities work(Something like Adventages in Champions Online). Example: Imagine a Sith Jugg DPS, build 40% around lightsaber single dmg combat, 20% lightsaber area combat and 40% around mid/close hybrid range force combat. I know it would be complicated at first, and maybe hard to pull off for players, but that kind of system would allow to personalize your toon's combat gameplay to the fullest extend. Which would also open new ways to play the content and put way more flavor into the game. IF done right Honestly, what we have right now is well... Bad. Character's combat customization is close to none. There is no freedom, nor variety if it comes to combat in this game. (No, combat specs are not solving the problem here) It's too... Restricted, no inbetween advenced classes nor specs (Also, shared specs are also not solving the problem here as well). So yeah, this is the best idea I have for the moment. If you want me to give you a full and more elaborate example of a toon build in this system, I can make it in another post to give you a better insgiht on what I have in mind.
  17. I think it'd be a good move to make utilities Combat Prof. Dependant. So when you switch from Immortal to let's say rage, or Marksmanship to Engineering you get a completely different set of utilities. Some may be skill changers, others might just boost your character in some areas. This way you could further more personalise your combat performance to your needs/style.
  18. I totally agree. To be honest, what they're trying to do with the Tacticals, that are suppoused to change how your abilities work, should have been implemented in utilities on a larger scale.
  19. Yeah story, which is also in OPS unavailable to players who just want to experience.
  20. It could be fun, but wouldn't it be better if we would have to buy it via legacy system? I'd prefer it that way, so that there would be some actuall work put into that (Like earning credits)
  21. I Honestly agree to everything TonyTricicolo said. It wouldn't hurt to give us the ability to run this solo, like flashpoints, but with adjustments. And by that I mean small or none rewards, other than credits and some common drops. Weaker environment, Istead of summoning other players allow us to use our companions. If you want to tryhard to get some amazing drop from an even better boss battle be my guest, do it, gather other players and run it that way. It wouldn't hurt your hard work you put in these ops before, and it won't hurt the work you're about to put in it the next time you run it. As it was mentioned before We don't want OPS to be run solo as if we run it with a team, we just want the story behind it. Save your gear, save your loot for yourselves. I just want to know what happens after I did all those missions on let's say Oricon. This way everyone will be happy. Or at least most of us.
  22. I'd gladly give up my 'Maim' on my sniper just to get the Shiv back
