  1. Can you please just get rid of the assembly components? Keep the same gear total required, whatever, but it's an extra step that is just a pain to deal with. Heck increase the time needed to craft things too if you want to slow down crafting, but having to log onto a crafting toon every 5 minutes if I want to get enough assembly components is just ridiculous.
  2. Thanks for all of the feedback and advice.

I can't check the older computer, i disposed of it.

All the drivers are up to date.

I can do an entire re-install, will it make a difference? I don't know, I guess I can try it on the weekend.

This is royally painful, if they were making a change that effects compatibility a heads up would be nice.

Having support go radio silent is unacceptable.

There are guides on how to run it without bitraider, maybe try googling for that and trying it?

I understand your frustration with support, but they are really just for software issues, and this very much sounds like a hardware problem.

  3. I'm not at my PC right now so I can't confirm this, but you can right click the button to transfer mats and change it to transfer everything including legendary, and that may fix you issue. Also, if you open the materials tab and right click on whatever you want put in the stash, it may put the mission mats in there even if they don't get in automatically (you may have tried these, in which case bug report?)
  4. Does anyone know if the expansion will be available to download/play in the AM or PM?

Checking to see if it would be worth taking a day off.

I feel like everyone has answered this already, but definitely do not take a day off. Maybe take the next day off if you want to, but day of is a pretty bad idea, as there is a pretty good chance it'll take all day to patch.

  5. Whatever the case, they are certainly not the worst single target burst. If you want to argue that they are the worst melee single target burst, then I more or less agree.

I just wanted to respond because scrapper is my favorite spec and I am heavily biased. :)

Haha, woops I meants to say operative heals (since I assumed that is what he was referring to, because even concealment shouldn't be able to survive an entire match with 3 people trying to kill it, but re-reading his post, I assume that is exactly what happened since he said the dps would take a lot of damage quickly every once in a while).

Nah, concealment is good, I meant that operative heals have the worst single target heals of the 3 healing specs, but the best survivability. That is the trade off I was talking about.

  6. I care because I liked what we had in 4.x. I got to constantly play around with stats for super cheap. If I wanted a stupid long grind I'd pve.

And this is the best example of how I know folks don't really know what they are talking about. In 4.0, PvP and PvE both had ridiculously short gear grinds. PvPers need to stop saying that "they deserve a faster gear grind" and "PvE should be long, and PvP should be short, cause 4.0 was that way". It wasn't. 4.0 had such a short gear grind you could be maxed out on either (or both honestly) it just a few days.

Seriously, make your argument that everything should be short, or everything should be long. But don't use 4.0 as an example of when PvP was short and PvE was long, cause that's not how that went down.

  7. Ok so I know that when it comes to the three healing classes each has there ups and downs and are good a on thing then the others. Now I say this because I was just in a PvP match and the whole time a sentinel, guardian and myself (sage healer) was fighting this one scoundrel, 3 vs 1. I'm not sure what his specs were but I do know that I saw some heals and he keep taking out the other two if I didn't heal them. So my question is how can scoundrel stand up to that kind of attack? I am asking that because I am a decent healer I have the top gear/mods and the top augments and I can't stand up to 3 others like that. This is not the first time that I have seen the scoundrel/operative class hold their own like that with hardly a scratch on them. I also know it how good you are at playing the toon, but come on the scoundrels and operative are way strong. Is it suppose to be like each class can stand up to one another, but it feels like the scoundrels and operatives are at the top with multiple stuns, heals, high attacks, and stealth.

Scoundrels have the best personal survivability. However, they have the worst single target burst (which is the most important in PvP generally speaking). It's a trade off.

Also, if a sentinel dps, a guardian dps, and a sage healer couldn't bring a operative dps down, it means the 3 of you need to get better at dps (if it was a tank guardian, they should swap into dps gear tbh).

  8. So, I've seen the Dire Eliminator (https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/dire-eliminator/) robes being sold on the GTN, however, SWtOR fashion rather explicitly states they're not available in-game anymore, they can't be crafted, nor looted, or anything to my knowledge. So how are players coming across them and selling them? Anyway, I purchased it thinking that since it's in my collection, I'd be able to buy it across Legacy, which to my surprise, unfortunately isn't the case (for whatever reason). I bought it with the intent of having a few of my characters have it.

    Anyway, TL;DR:

How does one obtain the Dire Eliminator robe without the need of GTN? Is there a certain heroic, planet, flashpoint, etc. that has to be done? And should I feel like I got cheated of 2M for an expensive robe? Oof.

Anyway, thank you in advanced if you're reading it, and double that if you replied. Have a good one.

"No Longer Available" just means that you can't get it from a vendor in the game anymore. If someone else had previously gotten it, they could still turn around and sell it on the GTN.

And the Dire Eliminator set is one of the armor sets that has stats attached to it. From what I recall, BW decided to not allow legacy wide unlock for stat based gear (since that would become a little too close to P2W). Honestly, all the gear with stats are so bad that I don't really care if they did, but that was a decision they made years ago and probably haven't really had reason to revisit it.

  9. It’s good that the cost of the guild ship is lower, but for us super small guilds, 15,000,000 is still too expensive.

You can get a couple million in a day doing heroics. 15 million is more than reasonable.

  10. So......The studio made changes that drove away all the other members of my 3 guilds, and only now you make changes to guilds?

What about making something interesting to do to encourage people back, rather than fiddle while Rome burns?

    --------------

    Fantastic news! / sarcasm.

How about a new PvP map? Ooo, or maybe a new NiM op?

    ... oh wait...

  11. Interesting that its going to be PvEers who are apparently going to hold the market hostage, when I can right now buy the PvE mats for a couple thousand, and the PvP mats are still sitting at millions.

I'm fine with the new mats being available in other ways, and think they should be, but c'mon.

  12. I mean sure the PVPers now are spoiled kids, brats that have no respect and really no idea of real life,

I see people call others trash, noob, maybe moron, OK, happens people mess up, are new what ever

I sympathize with your issue and agree that its unacceptable. But honestly, these statements seem to me like you are ok with trash talking, insulting, and bullying, as long as the insult used isnt the one that is personal to you.

  13. So I did consider the idea of these effectively being a time-gated nerf to the new op. It sorta makes sense if GFTM NiM end bosses are tuned to 258s. Historically Nightmare modes in this game have been tuned to the HM dropped tier and the NiM loot tier has served as a slight nerf as you get that gear. So this is all well and good as a substitute to getting that extra tier. But even then some of these stat boosts are extremely big and this would be a pretty huge tuning nerf. Furthermore, consider the impact of these perks in any potential future raid tiers. You'll have finished your grinding by then and have access to these upon launch.

As with many things BW does, implementation is what matters (granted, with their history Im not holding my breath). I agree some of these seem really really high, and I wouldnt be surprised to see them get nerfed prerelease, or shortly after.

They can definitely work around for future raid tiers by disabling for the first couple weeks or months (think nim power effectively) and then enabling to give a simple nerf to open up the ops a little bit. No idea if theyll do that (again, implementation, and again, not holding my breath) but they can work around that.

  14. Man, the nostalgia about how great expertise was is a little crazy. And saying casual players are getting stomped more now than they were is also nuts. Casual players were dropping into WZs with 220 and 224 gear and doing 30% less vs being a few item levs below as they are now, amd folks were complaining about it

The other thing folks are forgetting is that 4.0 wasnt magically amazing for gearing just for PvPers, it was super easy for PvEers too. You could be full 224 in 3 weeks, and have 90% 224 gear in 1 week. The decision to make gear harder wasnt to screw over pvpers, it was to put some progression into both. Its just not the case that in 4.0 you could get gear faster in PvP than PvE, and i dont believe that was true before that either

  15. So where do I apply for my $70M rebate on the 2 guild ships (1 pub, 1 imp) I already bought?

The same place everyone who spent years paying for abilities gets their refund. Its right next to the place everyone who bought mats for gear over the years got their refund after a new tier of gear came out, across from where you get a refund for the old and worthless crew skills when new tiers have come out.

Sorry for the snark, but come on, guild flagships came out years ago, and youve been able to use them for those years, thats what you paid 50 million for. If you literally just bought them, that definitely sucks, amd maybe you can email Eric or tech support and see if theyll refund you, but unless it was really recent I doubt you'll get a refund, nor should you.

  16. These are definitely cool to have in the game but I feel they should have no influence or functionality in higher end PvE and PvP content; that being nightmare operations and ranked PvP. I'd also say they shouldn't work in regular PvP as well but at least consider the impact these perks may have on the more competitive aspects of the game and how that may reflect on player enjoyment and experience.

I assume the stats gains are to introduce a defacto current nim ops nerf (with a new nim op thay is supposedly much harder that doesnt seem crazy). As long as the perks are not too onerous to get it doesnt really upset me. Give folks 2 ways to increase stats, both the new gear and these stats.

Also, he did say the perks wont work in pvp.

  17. I'm sure this is not exactly the feedback you'd like to hear at this point, but I'd like to provide this small piece anyway.

I think it would be a lot easier to manage the polarity during the Esne & Aivela encounter if switching polarity was triggered by only ONE temporary ability. During the encounter, you have to switch back between positive and negative polarity via two skills placed in the temporary ability bar. I usually only have the first ability in the temporary bar mapped to a key (in my case, third mouse button) because of Huttball and my setup has no further key to spare for any more temporary abilities, thus having me switch back and forth between pressing a hotkey and having to manually mouse-click during the encounter.

So why not have the polarity shift in one single ability as opposed to two? I know this might just be my own setup's fault, but I think it would be a welcome change simply for the sake of convenience.

Eh, I can see it having ups and downs. I like being able to look at the temp bar to see which I am instead of needing to look at my buff bar to remember.

Suggestion, create a seperate keybind layout just for a&e, and remove your stuns or something and use those to flip.

  18. - I am quite certain there is not a single player who feels more fun as an inactive node-guard than as an active frontal offensive force. ...

Too long to read and respond to all of this, but I'll tell you that I have more fun doing this depending on what class I am playing at the time. So yeah, this at least is not true, since there is at least 1 person who does sometimes have more fun doing this.

  19. You are understanding correct, when a player uses the vent it will take them to their side of the map defensively. You cannot use the vent offensively. You are right in that it doesn't directly make the pit less punishing, but it does allow teams to play defense more easily.

Let us know your thoughts once we get it on PTS!

Have they changed it so the new map is the only one that will pop?
